4.0 this week

So in Flight A.......yep still the same. But wait High Point v. T Bar this weekend, I am actually excited and I hope Bob's team is awake and ready for this match, should be good.

Flight C
Greenhill is getting back on track but Canyon Creek and LBH is hanging right with them.

Flight B
Garland got a close win without Trey and hangs in the mix but has Brookhaven this weekend, that match will decide alot. Brookhaven got trounced v. the Lakes so they have something to prove after getting their clock cleaned this weekend.

Flight D
Uhhh. I really thought we had an upset but we lost 2-3 AGAIN. Springpark remained undefeated and three teams sit at 4-1. BH v. Stonebridge should be good this week.

  1. Your flights are off. Garland and Brookhaven fight it out in Flight B, Greenhill is in flight C.

  2. Sorry I am running on a few hours of sleep and busy here at work.

catching a nap at lunch so I will be nice and spry for the evening.

  3. I just noticed the back seat blogger name, nice!

also I am attempting to find my manhood after I sat threw a late show of Sex and the City last night that let out near 11p. Guys stay away, the show was funny but that movie was 2 1/2 hours long, it was like a plane ride to the depths of hell.

  4. thanks for the headsup

  5. Mark Drazner and Lynn Khaning, these two guys are putting out some great wins especially compared to the Fall results. Steriods? JK :)

Seriously Lynn crushed Pearson, granted my guy did too but Mike is a solid player. I saw Lynn play last season and he was good but now he is really playing well.

Still interested to see SP A+ lineup, I have a feeling Pearson won't be playing line 1 singles.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lakes cruising along, I am surprised they dropped a line but Mattes/Helterbrann are solid. Doubles will be the area to attack on them but much like HP Somabut they are deep so just because you take line 1 doesn't mean anything when their line 3 is probably just as solid.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Congrats to Brouer/Robinson and Newman/Voss. Dallas-area guys looked really impressive this weekend in Waco.

Veilluex's partner, Kern, played pretty good as well. Well done!

    Congrats to all!

    ReplyDelete
  8. That doesn't seem like their best line on Line 1 Doubles - Jobe cannot be their best doubles player. 3rd set tie breaker loss is as close you could get to a 5-0 sweep.

Don't let the 4-1 result fool you, BH/Helterbrann is still a really solid team. Watch out Garland!

    ReplyDelete
  9. HP/Somabut's team will be awake and ready to go. They will bring their big guns Newman/Voss, Robinson/Bruer, etc. to this match. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have their scouts going around watching T-Bar play the last few weeks!

I hope T-Bar is awake and prepares well for this match. Because if they lose they are out of the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Tbar will win both singles lines and scrap out a line of doubles. the playoff picture will be a real mess then.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Does Somabut even care if he wins? Does he show a playoff lineup or just an every week lineup?

    ReplyDelete
  12. How hard is it to determine HPs best line-up. They are in a great position, they have nothing to hide.

    ReplyDelete
  13. HP probably will go ahead and play the big guns this week since all their studs will be in Tyler during the last week of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  14. HP sweeps T BAR 5-0 without dropping a set.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I agree that HP will put out a strong lineup and probably win 5-0 or 4-1. The match could be a determining factor for the seeding, "placing" of teams in the City Playoffs. I'm not sure HP can sweep the singles, but they will proably sweep the doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  16. HP/somabut owned Waco and their guys won easily on sunday. The bottom half of the team could probably beat 85% ot the teams out there.

    ReplyDelete
  17. New to the blog...

Congrats to Steven & Keith. Finally got a really fun match in the finals and then Tim and I fizzled a bit. But those guys hang in there and do what it takes. Winning 2 MZ's in a row as they have now done is very impressive.

Maybe we can get them back in Tyler.

    ReplyDelete
  18. doug, awesome play this weekend. By the way, to participate in this blog you must talk about how good Eddie Hill is for 90% of yoru posts

    ReplyDelete
  19. dont talk trash about lifetime and Eddie. Or else...... he might pull an excuse about cortisone shots

    ReplyDelete
  20. Doug run away. You're a nice guy don't get caught up in the blogosphere. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Cary, if you need help with predictions I'm one for one after Waco. Congratulations to Keith and Steven. Hope you boys are excited about 4.5 next year. As you guys saw its a piece of cake:) Make sure you check the rolling rankings next week so you can see you're still trailing me. Still up for that match to see whose worse though.
Ken, I'm working on your six pack.
Wish I would have watched Forest play, I didn't catch him but it looks like he did cruise.

    ReplyDelete
  21. T-Bar will not sweep singles against HP/Somabut. Their second singles line lost to Lifetime and it wasn't Eddie. And they will lose all of the doubles matches. This is a 4-1 HP win.

    ReplyDelete
  22. No way anyone on HP Somabut beats Wallace from TBar in singles

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jason, I think you hold the all time record for most points by a 4.0 player. You will probably keep the #1 spot until after sectionals. I'm sure I'll get a few losses this year in league play that will keep me at 4.0. Tournament players aren't as good as league players. At least that is what I've read on this blog. It's a good thing I wasn't in the lineup against Lifetime. I hear they are awesome.
Hopefully we get another chance to play Tim and Doug in Tyler. I think we got lucky in Waco.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think Keller could beat Wallace and possibly Brouer but he needs to stay with Keith at doubles but then again there are plenty of other doubles team to create if he moves up there to get that win.

I just looked again at the Lakes win and I am just falling in love with that score, I am jealous really they really destroyed a good team. Balan playing line 3, I have seen him play, he is solid and my guess is that he won't play every match for them at the DCC because there might just be 8-9 guys on that roster better than him. Those singles scores are just sick. They will be tough to beat in singles come playoff time, of course McGowan and Davis could hang and probably Walker as well although he coughed up a huge lead yesterday against us.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I could email Kirby or Bob but i am too lazy. What time and where is the HP v. TBar match I am looking to stay out of the house as long as possible since my mother in law will be in town.

I do have a swollen knee but Eddie said he will lend me some of his pain meds so I can play some challenge matches this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's at TBar. I'm not sure of the time yet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. cary, you are scaring me with the positive praise on the Lakes. trying to continue the hex strategy

    Rockettman

    ReplyDelete
  28. Cary, Balan playing line 3 is a joke. I've played against him, he may not have the prettiest of games, but the way he wins, he may be one of the best doubles players they may have - losing a total of 13 games in 5 matches?

    ReplyDelete
  29. yes Balan has an ugly game but knows how to win

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anon 7:59pm,

You're right, his game reminds me of Brad Gilbert's, ask him if he read Brad's book, Winning Ugly?

    ReplyDelete
  31. He will learn to lose in the playoffs. Lakes is Highly overrated by Cary.

    ReplyDelete
  32. says the overconfident loser.

Just got my Lakes application toady I will be a member in no time.

    ReplyDelete
  33. David Snow is a very strong 4.0 doubles player, when paired with another strong 4.0 player, can just about beat any other 4.0 doubles team in town. Let's see if they get him a good pairing this week.

    ReplyDelete
  34. For all you Eddie-haters, I saw him play in Waco. He couldn't lift his right arm above his shoulder and almost had to serve underhanded. I bet he's got a rotator cuff injury. Can Lifetime win without him? I don't think so but I don't know their team. Still, I suspect they are done.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Keller beating Wallace, not happening. Keller is a strong 4.0 doubles player and only an above average singles player.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Trae - Congrats on the Waco tournament. That was one hell of a tournament for you. Still not sure how you are walking today.

Doug/Tim, great tournament to you guys too. You had a tough side of the draw and beat some really good teams along the way. I agree with Keith, we got lucky.

Jason, your prediction was a lucky one, since I'm still not sure how we pulled the win out of the semis and finals. But I guess a win is a win. And you'll still be leading us in the ranks but I don't think you'll have the #1 by your name anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I saw Eddie play in Waco also. He may not be 100%, but he's not that injured. His arm may have loosened up as the tournament went on. He was not close to serving underhanded on Saturday. He made it to the consolation semi-finals and pulled out to play in a league match on Sunday which he won. He won his last consolation match 6-1,6-1. Eddie' a good player, but not good enough to be easily winning matches serving underhanded.

    ReplyDelete
  38. If Eddie out, Lifetime is done.

The whole league might just go down the drain without Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I just looked up Lifetime's singles record. #2 man looks solid with only two losses in the last year coming against Keller (HP) and McKinney (finalist in Waco). They also have a doubles team that hasn't lost. So, it depends on their depth without Eddie. We never hear anything from Jonathan or Morrison about their team. How about some comments boys? Speaking of Morrison, look at his doubles record at 4.0 this year. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  40. High Point will play their best team this week. Bob knows there are only three teams with a chance to win the 2 spots at sectionals. He is not "afraid" of SP or the Lakes, but knows if he has the best record during the season he will be the one seed in the city playoffs and that would put the Lakes and SP on the other side as the 2 and 3 seeds. So while we can argue over who has the best team, there is no doubt HP has the best, most experienced captain. With this playoff format, proper positioning will be crucial.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I heard Eddie had to play left handed in Waco, and served with his feet. He then had to play a league match with his racquet just strapped to his chest, and he still continues to win. Wow!!! How does he do it? I hear he is having a triple bypass surgery on Friday, but will recover in time to play Sunday. Simply amazing!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. While HP/Somabut is all worried about its seeding, TBar has more to play for, and is going to methodically dismantle HP. Just watch. Go TBar.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anon 2:58am?

What you have stated is no rocket science. You don't need to have much experience to understand the rules of DTA, nor run a team like HP/Somabut.

Having said that, I will give all the credit for Bob for aggressively acquiring and retaining talent like he has over years. Although, he has an unfair advantage over other club teams that require membership to a private club.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's an advantage, but it's not unfair. You don't have to play for a private club. That is your choice.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Comment from Jonathan? Please. I got blasted 0 and 0 by guys known as Snoop and Icepick.

I'll just do what I do for right now and just watch and read. And if I get called on to play, just be ready.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Snoop and Icepick? In college, those were my suppliers.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anon 7:01am,

I see your point and it is well taken.

    ReplyDelete
  48. AND... Actually, If we do win 3-2, we would take 1st place. OC doesn't take all 5 lines against Bender's team.

Sean Brinkman wins his line, whether he plays singles or doubles.

    ReplyDelete
  49. DOH! Dislexic, that was a 3.5 blog.

Thanks for the note. I worked very hard on my game during the off season this year. Thanks to a slow season during the winter in the mortgage industry, I found plenty of extra time to work on my tennis game. ha ha.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OBTW, Forrest feuille is now on Lifetime Fitness 4.0.

    ReplyDelete
  54. He just wasted his money.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Agreed,
He will not even get to play with Eddie Hill on the team.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Cary,

Blog challenge on Sunday at 2 at High Point? John and I are in.

    ReplyDelete
  57. The Lakes are deep! Weatherby and Balan know it and are playing their cards just right.... Cary is on to something. Rattle its cage and it will awake!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sounds very tempting. I do have singles challenge I need to do and more importantly my team is short a player at 3p so I might need to fill in and on top of that my knee is swollen and I am not sure why, it happened during my mixed match and I didn't do anything strange it just can't straighten it out all the way. I might have to put myself on the DL with Eddie Hill.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hill is out indefinitely. Awaiting results of MRI. Does not look good.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Nice pick up Eddie. Now I'll buy some of the Lifetime hype. They could win 3 lines off of most teams with Forest in the line-up at singles.

Forest will be forced to play in both of Lifetime's upcoming matches in order to be qualified for the playoffs. You are right, one of those matches is on the 22nd during the final day of the Tyler MZ.

Eddie better start begging him now to tank his quarterfinal match.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oak Creek is the home team for that last match. They better schedule it for like 11:00 or 1:00. 3:00 may allow him to play both.

I bet if LT was home team they would have scheduled a 5:00 start time.

    ReplyDelete
  62. that is a great pickup, he turned me down. i guess my bid wasn't high enough. i don't hold grudges, I will still take him in the fall if he is on the market although I think he will be a 4.5 along with many others from the top teams.

Sunday start times, 3p is pretty standard since the earliest we are allowed is 1p. Another rule I would like our angry DTA guy to add to your list. I don't see why certain levels should be forced to play on certain days. The home team should be given the advantage of day and time within reason as long as notice is given.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I started to agree with that Cary but then I thought about all the players who play both levels. That would probably stop a lot of players from doing that since they wouldn't be able to play both a lot of weekends.

I would like it because I hate playing on Saturdays.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I would'nt expect that match to ever happen. Cary knows better!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. What was score of Oak Creek Cambell and Village Johnson from flight B?? Isn't there a time limit to enter scores?

  67. To the overconfident Anonymous loser who said...

"He will learn to lose in the playoffs. Lakes is Highly overrated by Cary." June 2, 2008 8:07 PM

Did you mean he will learn to lose games in the playoffs??? This guy loses less than 3 games per match, I need to see him lose games first, before he loses sets, leave alone matches.

    ReplyDelete
  68. All Lakes players are overrated.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Our team nearly blanked the Lakes team in mixed this season.

I saw no man to fear, thought their women were better than ours. They did win one match against our sorriest players.

I did give up two games in the match, however.

Saw all four guys on the men's team playing this season. Don't understand the hype.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Interesting analysis. Some on here talk like Lakes is the top 4.0 team in Dallas (which I will agree - they may very well be, easily top 3).

There are others that say there isnt that big a difference in top 4.0 players and 4.5 players.

I notice the Lakes 4.5 team is almost identical to the 4.0 team, several of the same players. Yet, this team is by far the worst 4.5 team in Dallas. Through 5 weeks they have managed only 4 line victories. A see several losses where 4.0 players on the 4.5 team lost to 4.0 players on others. Just this last weekend Randy V and Mike T, lost to Justin Madison and Paul Wildberger - this is surprising. Lakes is good - but they are beatable.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anon 8:47pm,

All top 3 teams are overrated and beatable. There is no unbeatable team in this league. Each team has their strengths and their weaknesses.

Before last week's match, the order was Lakes, HP, SP. After the last match, it is HP, Lakes, SP. Let's see what it is after this week. All said and done, SP you are doomed to be #3. Deal with it.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anon 8:38pm,

I know who you are. Let's see you had a 5.0 player on line 1, a 4.5 on line 2 who you call your sorriest player who lost, you on line 3, and a 4.5 pro on line 4, and you all faced a bunch of 4.0 men, and there is also the variable of the strength of the women; hmmm, I think I have to go with Anon 8:55pm.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Forrest is a nice pick up for LTF but singles has not been their issue. This gives them depth if Eddie's injury lingers but they were already winning BOTH singles lines 80% of the time. They need depth at doubles badly for the QT.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I've seen SP play, and the Lakes is a much better team. I don't understand the Gene and Mitch hype. Our top players could beat either one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  75. can we just start a THREAD ABOUT EDDIE.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think Eddie needs his own blog.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Here's a start for those Eddie haters out there that questioned that I was injured. MRI is back. Torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, bone spurs in the joint. Surgery needed, but not required right away. Out 30 days minimum, possible 4 months. Just an excuse for losing in WACO I'm sure???

    ReplyDelete
  78. Boy - that guy you beat on Sunday must sure feel like a loser. Couldn't even beat you with one arm.

    ReplyDelete
  79. LEAGUE ADMINISTRATION
    Asking around I have been told . . .

There are more than 20 people on the DTA Board of Directors. While they do meet once every month or so, most of those individuals are not particularly interested in our leagues and they all are busy with other activities.

Men's leagues are apparently administered by Brian Modic, Rick Lyons and Jane Gilpin.

Brian Modic, Rick Lyons and Jane Gilpin all play leagues and I'm told they regularly read our bloggs on this site. Brian is a 4.5 captain, Rick is a 3.5 captain and Jane is paid by the DTA to work on league activity.

    DOES ANYONE KNOW THESE INDIVIDUALS?

Most captains do not want to attend a lengthy meeting. They just want these individuals to communicate with us.

What we would like to know is how teams are seeded and placed into flights. Who does it and how is it done?

Why don't they respond with an email to captains or a blog on this site? How hard would that be? My guess is that they are not very proud of how these activities are currently handled.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have no idea why the DTA does not communicate something to us.

We have raised some very valid concerns:
    1) Why do we not an appropriate process for setting up flights and placing teams into flights. Why is this not more TRANSPARENT?
    2) Why in level 4.0 are we only playing 7 matches, not 9 or 10?
    3) Why do we no longer play a round robin City Championship in level 4.0?
    4) Why does the fall winner get a bye all the way to the City Championship?

They think if they ignore us these issues will go away. I think the issues will not go away until they make some attempt to communicate with us.

And I agree. Most people do not want to attend a meeting. They just want our league administrators to communicate with us.

    - Death Volley

    ReplyDelete
  81. Guys,
I can only think of two reasons why the DTA reads our comments but does not respond:

    (1) They are so ignorant that they do not realize that what they are doing is wrong.

    (2) They do not give a dam what we think.

    My guess . . . maybe a little of #1 and a lot of #2.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Eddie, I know you've just had fun on this blog and people give you a hard time, some of which is deserved, but in all seriousness, sorry to hear about that severe of an injury. Rotator cuff tears can take a year so be careful. Good luck to your team without you.

    ReplyDelete
  83. From the DTA website
    March 1st meeting minutes
    "League & Grievance Committees
    • List of potential committee members has been collected.
    • Do not want members with a personal agenda.
    • Plan to finalized committees next month; estimate 12 – 15 members.
    • Want the committees to be made up of individuals from all areas of Dallas League tennis, including
women, men, seniors, public facilities, private facilities, professionals.
    • All DTA members are eligible to participate."

So who is on the "Grievance Committee"?

Here is a link to the PDF if anyone is interested.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I wonder if they ever formed the commiteee and if the committee really does anything.

Regardless, why can't someone from that organization answer some of our questions?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Gene and Mith overrated?? You are crazy. Gene is better than Kern and Kern was amazing at 4.0. Look how Gene did against Oscar, the 5.0 pro from the Lakes, on Sunday in mixed. Even in mixed it would be difficult to beat Oscar. Just wait until the playoffs and you will see the real Gene Davis.

    ReplyDelete
  86. alright go ahead and out the guy talking about Lakes MXD because I can't figure it out, is he talking TCD because the Lakes doesn't even have anything but a 7.0 team.

Mixed is a tough to compare I have played two matches and it isn't radically different then men's doubles but it is a different game. Obviously the higher level you go the more it is like same sex doubles.

Last week we played Stonebriar and the regular "go at the lady" strategy didn't work because no offense to Ryan but Val is/was a better play than he is in doubles, at least she was on Sunday.

I really think unless someone shows a weakness in the Lakes I have to consider them #1 in the league right now. I know Mitch and Gene are very strong players and probably holding back but I still see their lack of depth past the big two lacking compared to the other two top teams. Also since Mitch and Gene are obviously out of level players (not upset about it, just pissed they aren't on my team) they still have to be careful about being DQ'ed in the DCC or after...

    ReplyDelete
  87. Lifetime is the #1 team.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I don't see how the Lakes can be favored over High Point or Sprinpark. They were lucky to beat Garland. Whether they had their best lineup is irrelevant. They are going to have to have depth in singles and doubles to advance and they are going to be against players who have much more experience winning.

Keith and Steven win two major zones, lose to Mitch and Gene 6-3, 6-0, and the Lakes players would kill them. That sounds really believable. My biggest complaint is that I'm going to read about this for another 6 weeks until the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Cary, he was talking about TCD Open B mixed, where springpark plays 5.0s and 4.5s & 4.0s, and lakes plays primarily 4.0s. That note really not relevant and did not make any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Dear Anonymous from June 3, 2008 @ 4:15pm,

    It's not that he would know better. He's just busy.......busy ummmmm.....well re-read the June 2, 2008 @ 11:05am post. 2nd paragraph 1st half of the 1st sentence.

  91. First matches on a season is always tricky. Remember last season, HP/Somabut's team actually lost their first match against HP/Giuhat. Didn't turn out to be anything, did it?

For that match, Lakes had 2 of their starting 8 players. One of the lines they lost was an injury default.

Garland just got lucky to get Lakes the first week, if Lakes played Garland this week, they would get beat 5-0, and Lakes wouldn't even lose a set.

Let's see how you do this week against BH, that will say something wouldn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Not necessarily. If Garland loses they are out, BH is in. If BH loses, it will come down to number of lines won and lost, which we won't know till the last week.

  97. Steven, I still have your usta# somewhere, so I'll be signing you and Keith up for singles in Tyler to handicap you a little in doubles. Can you email me your credit card# also? Jason, I was just kidding about the 6 pack, after the close match you had with Rodriguez, I should be bringing you beer. Since schools out, let's get some practice in over the summer. And by practice, I mean I need you to serve me a grocery cart full of balls until I can get 2 back in a row.

    -Sandman

    ReplyDelete
  98. I would say Garland probably had 4 of their top 8 in that match, and the only reason Trey lost was because of a knee injury he got the day before playing for my team in my opinion. I'm not arguing that Garland is better than the Lakes, I'm only saying the players I saw would not compete with Springpark and High Point.

    ReplyDelete
  99. He was talking about Gene and his 9.0 mixed usta team. Whatever so he beat Oscar 0 and 3 in mixed. maybe oscar sucks at mixed.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Gene is no 4.0. He has to be the biggest 4.0 ringer in Dallas (maybe Texas) this year.

  104. Looking like you boys will have to do without me in Tyler. Although I would like to play Steven. Oh well I'll get my chance next year after he finishing tearing through 4.0s. I'll hold my Keith and Steven Tyler (LOL) pick until I see the draws though.
Ken I like how you've embraced your critics and are even signing your posts Sandbagger (or did I misread that). Call me when you want to hit.

  106. I have been busy working on my left hand game, just in case.

  107. Eddie,

That is HORRIBLE about your arm. Not fun to be down when you have been working so hard.

I guess you got the official low down on it yesterday.

    Well call you later today.

  108. Anyone know what time the HP/ Tbar match is on Sunday?? I know it is at Tbar

  109. Looks like all I can see is a bunch of sour grapes about The Lakes..... The record speaks for itself!

    ReplyDelete
  110. I don't think HP or SP are worried about the Lakes. Cary seems to be the only one with a man crush on them.

    ReplyDelete
  111. sometimes I just stop by their courts and wave. At night I hop the fence and run around on the grounds and soak up all the greatness that is the LAKES.

  112. We are just about through with the Spring season. Your task to build a Dallas 4.0 super team - name your 15 member squad. 8 Starters and 7 backups (ok - so I am bored)

    ReplyDelete
  113. We already did that in March at Lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  114. 15 is alot and I won't give you starters or a bench, but your 15 best 4.0 Dallas players are probably something like this - in alphabetical order. Some of these guys are doubles specialist, some it doesn't matter where you play them.

    1. N. Azhar
    2. S. Brouer
    3. G. Davis
    4. F. Feuille
    5. R. Holt
    6. S. Kent
    7. M. McGowan
    8. T. McKinney
    9. T. Newman
    10. K. Robinson
    11. M. Runda
    12. R. Valtierra
    13. D. Voss
    14. C. Walker
    15. S. Wallace
    16. J. Walters

I actually did my 15 and then saw Mitch wasn't listed and had to add him since he and Gene took 2 others on the list to the woodshed.

And for our LT fans out there:
    Mascot: E. Hill

  115. that is funny. you must be a comedian. You are not even close with those pick. If Noaman is #1??? That is a joke. Cary please take this person's blogging privlege away.

    ReplyDelete
  116. oh it's alphabetical!! Not a bad list.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Very good list. That shows the depth of this league. Even with this list there are a lot of excellent players not on the list such as Ken Ratana and a lot of very good doubles speacialist who won't be very well know until after the city playoffs,

    ReplyDelete
  118. yep I like that team I am going to get our team# for the fall tomorrow and get them all registered, we will be playing out of my new home. The Lakes.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I thought Ratana was 4.5 now, only reason I left him off.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Welcome to the Lakes, Cary

    Rockettman

  121. Ken Ratana is playing for LB Houston (Spagnola) in Flight D. They are my pick to win the qualifying tournament. They could have Ratana and Walker in singles and three very good doubles teams.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Spagnola better go kiss some Walters butt. If team Walters so chooses, they could throw the Pearlman match the last week of the season and that very likely could keep Spagnola out of the QT.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I wouldn't pucker just yet, if Spagnola wins out they are in for sure, but in your scenario it would be as a Wildcard.

    ReplyDelete
  124. You thought correctly. Ken Ratana is a 4.5 but he petitioned down to 4.0.
