4.0 Playoff picture

Since you 4.0s are hanging out more this week, here is what the playoffs would look like if it ended today.

What will this weekend hold? we will have a lot better picture. With the two flight system seeding starts to matter so those Springpark 3-2 wins they are getting by resting Gene and Mitch might start to hurt them.

DCC
HP/Somabut-21
Lakes-20
Springpark-19
Greenhiill-17

QT
TBar-21
CC/Heflin-16
BH/Pearlman-16
BH/Helterbrann-15

WC to QT
Lifetime-19
LB Houston-15

  1. The list to make the tourny looks pretty solid, my bet is that BHaven/Pearlman will fall off with at least 1 more and possibly 2 more losses. Who would be the team to fill in?

  2. TBar might be out of the playoff picture after this weekend. I think they will need to luck into a wildcard for the QT.

  3. i take it from an earlier post that the LBHouston/Jones is not elegible. Will any 2 loss teams even have a chance?

    ReplyDelete
  4. If TBAR beats LB Houston/Au, the worst they would be is 5-2 and 24-11 in lines (21-4 now, worst case 0-5 against High Point, 3-2 with LB Houston)

What other third place teams could have better records?

After this weekend, all TBAR will need is a win against LB Houston even if they lose 0-5 to HP.

  5. yep TBar is in good shape, it will be hard for them to miss out on at least a WC if not a 2nd place showing in their flight depending on how Lifetime finishing up with an ailing Eddie.

  6. Like I said a long time ago.. Flight A would have 3 teams in the playoffs. At least 2 of those teams will be in the City champs as well. Long live Flight A. 3 of the top 6 teams in Dallas 4.0.

  7. what time is the HP vs Tbar match????

    ReplyDelete
  8. You could probably call the pro shop at TbarM and find out the time for the Colao 4.0 match. They have to have the courts marked off.

  9. Anyone who thinks three of the top six teams in the Dallas 4.0 league are in group A knows nothing about tennis. The Sunday match of HP vs TBM should give some indication of the strength of that flight. Probably 4-1 HP.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Flight A may not have the best teams but they will get 3 teams out to the QT and DCC because the flight is so weak the top 3 teams are able to put beatdowns on the rest of the flight and pad their stats where in the other flights the matches are much closer.

  11. Cary,

That is true, but neither Lifetime or TBM will be able to beat LB Houston in the QT assuming LB is healthy. Even a healthy Eddie in the QT would not change that.

  12. Lifetime has 3 very strong Singles players and 2 doubles teams that will be 4-0 and 4-0 on the season.

  13. "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king."

They have three strong, not very strong singles players. Forest is probably the strongest singles play Lifetime has. He beat Jim Walters, who is also a strong singles player 7-6, 6-4 in the finals of a Brookhaven tournamnet earlier this year. Jim would be no higher than #3 singles on the Spring Park team. Eddie also lost in straight sets to Wallace from TBM. Eddis lost 6-3,6-1 to Mitch(SP) right after Mitch came off the court from a doubles challenge match. Lifetime's double teams can not come close to matching up with the stronger teams in the league.

  14. For the Lifetime crew...

High Point Somabut has 8 undefeated doubles teams and Spring Park has 13 undefeated doubles teams, so I doubt they are too concerned with your two 4-0 teams.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I am not talking about 1-0 teams. Just trying to show consistancy from 2 doubles teams. Of that 8-0 3 of those wins are against HP and Tbar. don't Hate... Appreciate!!Go Lifetime. See ya in the Playoffs.

  16. To the "Blind Man". Obvisously Mitch didn't have to do much in that doubles challenge match BLOWOUT!!! Playoffs will tell it all. see you then. All these other bs matches..challenge matches... flight matches will mean ZERO then. Let's see who brings it when the heat and pressure is on.

  17. Mitch was playing against HP's probable #1 team who has won two Major Zones. I agree that everything will be settled on the courts during the City Playoffs. If Lifetime can work their way to the DCC I doubt they are going to like what they find there, very good teams.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Man, I could care less about Lifetime but some of you now sound ridiculous. First, you hammer about how they can't make the DCC and then you say if they did get there, they wouldn't like what they find. Many of you are a joke. Just play tennis and see what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  19. But I drank a lot of beer, too. That should count for something!

    Oh, nevermind. I suck.

    ...Mitch.

  20. To bad the City Champiobnship will not be a roubnd robin. Seeding ib the DCC may be critical to determining the top two teams.

    ReplyDelete
  21. calm down Lifetime, I have a feeling if you all make the DCC it will be similar to the 3.5 from last year. A bunch of close losses. you all really put a scare in some good teams like Garland and team lucky thunder. you all have some talent and outlook is good for 2009

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lifetime's team this year is so much stronger comparatively than that 3.5 team. Much better at singles with more depth and more talent in doubles. Lifetime will not scare anyone. They will make it to sectionals. I remember all the talk from many of you fools about how HP would beat Lifetime 5-0 in the first match. They barely won against a makeshift line-up. We have added talent since. dHP has a good team, but who is supposed to scare us in other flights? I have seen good players fall apart in the heat and pressure of the playoffs. I like the team we have. We lost our first match and have been under pressure ever since. I can't wait til City. Bring on the supposed good teams.

  23. Best 4.0 team . . . Spring Park.

    2nd best . . . High Point

    Total BS . . . Life Time

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love it. we will see!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I hope that is not the Captain of Lifetime calling his players against HP makeshift. Ouch!

    ReplyDelete
  26. we will see this weekend that TBar isn't very good and HP beat LB 5-0 so who decent have you beat?? Please

    ReplyDelete
  27. Makeshift means more than just personel. It is about putting people together that have not played together or people being forced into positions that they are not comfortable with. Every TEAM has players that play more and play less. It does not lessen their value, some play more some play less, all bring value to the TEAM.

    ReplyDelete
  28. At first all the Lifetime talk was funny. Now it's weak like their team.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I hope Lifetime doesn't make it past the QT so we can mock them the rest of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anybody know when mid-year NTRP ratings come out?

I've got too many wins this year at 4.0 and need to tank at least 1 or 2 matches to keep from getting bumped. (Got to get a few bad scores before the playoffs!)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I hear you. I try to get a few losses in each year when we play the weaker teams. Our team can still win 3-2 or 4-1 even though I tank a line.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd like to play on the fall winner team someday. If I ever get the chance I think I'll play lefty during the regular season and maybe have a 0-7 record. Then I could still kick butt in the playoffs and not get pushed up!

    ReplyDelete
  33. What the hell is the matter with you guys?
    -Hardcourt

  34. Early start ratings come out in mid-July.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Those last few comments really show that many of you people are cowards. I am officially done with this blog. I can't wait to see you all in the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  36. u know, i almost have to agree, all this hate lifetime crap is getting really old now. no matter what happens or what this team achieves, spin factor is going to happen so that lifetime fell short.

and you got all of thse anonymous bloggers saying stupid shit.

blogging on these sites makes for good fun and good matches up ahead, but u guys need to make sure u dont cross the line.

why dont u read some of those other city blogs, and see how boring those are? B.O.R.I.N.G

    ReplyDelete
  37. I agree let's start hating on the Lakes now.

    ReplyDelete
  38. we can always hate on Garland here on this site which is why I invented the site in the first place. Jk :)

I am ready for the season to wrap up unfortunately we have yet another bye next week. UGH! God forbid we play a match that weekend, on father's day weekend, that is the one weekend I can ask for whatever. Maybe a good challenge match or two. My knee is coming around so hopefully it will be ready by that time.

  39. In ALL SERIOUSNESS, lifetime 4.0 took a team, and made it competitive.

Lifetime will be in the QT, and lifetime will do some damage there. And lifetime 4.0 will ALREADY have come a long way. I wish I could play in the QT

At least Eddie makes this fun, and gets some good conversation going along the way. Saying all the HP has a good team, with a good coach, but we just dint make it happen today makes for shit reading that no one really wants to hear.

I do hate excuses. THEY ARE STUPID THINGS THAT LOSERS DO.

With the HP loss, maybe that is the ONLY thing we could have handled better. BUT NOW SOME MORON IS DOING THE SAME THING!!! "HP great players weren't playing that week and took it easy."

WHATEVER. LouuuZER!!!! If I had seen this shit talk earlier, I would have lined up a TEAM challenge match against a different division during the off WEAK. (please note the purposeful mispelling of week).

Unfortunatley, I am signed up for the Plano Open already.

But at some point, you boyS either need to quit making it so personal, or put your name behind it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. For whoever was asking earlier. HP at TBar 2pm.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Boy, Spring Park really looked weak today, almost giving up their line 1 singles. Jim took the day off, Gene did too, Mitch almost had to play for over 45 minutes. Mike P got the day off too, but still, one of these matches went to a tiebreaker!

Man, I don't see how these guys are going to hang with Lifetime if they almost lose a match on a regular Sunday.

  42. Lakes leaps to #1 seed ahead of HP/Somabut, thanks to TBar who won a doubles line against HP.

Lakes took care of business with a clean sweep over HP/Harrison, 5-0 without losing a set.

After week 6, the seeding is as follows:

    1) Lakes
    2) HP/Somabut
    3) SP/Walters
    4) ?

    Go Lakes!
