Weekend League Results

Well one MOW is in the books and "injured" Greg Wiley was so good he helped High Point take down undefeated Brookhaven. Tom Lafferty and Raghu look like they are unstoppable. Tom has been playing good during the week so I am not surprised. He started wearing glasses while playing so I am headed to Lenscrafters tonight.

Greenhill rolled in their Stonebridge "test." Samuel Grand moved to 5-0 and are making it look easy.

***********Breaking news****************

John Sisk joined Westlake today and so they are officially DURDY. Now you 3.5ers can start talking bad about Westlake. Any other last minute adds to that already strong team coming soon????

Not anything posted at 4.5 quite yet. Interested to know about CoreDawg's match and did my beloved Lakes score a win today??

Combo Sectionals are going on here in Dallas this weekend as well and FW and Lubbock jumped out with 1st match wins over Dallas and Waco in flight I. In Flight II the other FW team and Freeman's Houston team won their opening round matches.

WTF?! Freeman is in town, everyone send your ringers and top players on vacation, I have heard he will wine and dine players and buy them an apartment 50 miles within the Houston city limits for the upcoming Spring season. :)

  1. Your beloved Lakes did not win. You need to hitch yourself to a new wagon.

  2. We squeaked by 4-1. All matches were competitive except for line 2 doubles. We lost the first set in both doubles matches and won in third-set tiebreaks. Ken let me off the hook up a break in both sets. Thanks to everybody who came out and I thought there was great sportsmanship by both teams. Any other results from today?

  3. Guess that Westlake is getting concerned about Greenhill with the addition of John S since Greenhill seemed to have taken Stonebridge with ease. Or was it John was a total "free" agent & wanted to play someone where.

  5. Officially,
As the man who coined the phrase,
    it's "Durrty"
    with two r's

  6. Great competition as O.C.Feldman goes 4-1 at The Lakes. Line 1 doubles was The Lakes win, 7-6,5-7,10-8. The Buffalo sent a swinging volley at 8-8 three feet long and wide I think. Marty told me to quit swinging at those earlier. Sorry Collin!
Good fun anyway and good to see my old CCCC friend Ron Way.

  7. Nice 4 - 1 win by Northwood. In the battle of captains at #2 singles, Nancy beat Ken Loose 6 - 4, 6 - 4.

    IN NANCY WE TRUST

  8. Westlake was already the best 3.5 team. Adding Sisk is no big deal. Only adds a little depth _ assuming Sisk does not find a HS superstar to join him.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm close to getting jerry defeo on as well. Nobody in the city would beat jerry or don at 3.5.
    Sisk

  10. Anon,
Interested in singles? My record stinks in doubles, but I I'd like to play you so I can show you my "no big deal" game!
    Sisk

  11. Welcome back John. Join me in the fight against the anons. I've missed you.

    ReplyDelete
  12. i think the most interesting thing at 3.5 will be how many players are missing for GH and Westlake due to super seniors and who can jump and beat them, High Point is looking good and maybe Brookhaven?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Does anyone else think it odd that Westlake is full of Super Seniors and is the team to beat?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am not sure if Brookhaven had their strongest team playing against HP. I would think Lamson & Milke are stonger than the line 3 that played for B-haven.

Westlake just added Danny Vandefifer, who I am guessing is a lot stronger than Sisk. Sisk seemed to lose all the time in the playoffs and was really a non factor. Sisk just knew how to recruit ringers

GH will be missing 4 guys and Westlake will be missing 3 guys. They are all very good players. The super senior team wants to go back to nationals and win it this time.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I really do not think Lamson and Milke would have beaten HP's third line.

    ReplyDelete
  16. John Sisk is better than Vandefifer. John's serve is really big and I would rather have him than Dan. Regardless, both will make Westlake better.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Who is Coredawg? Is that Nancy trying to change her name? Sorry, its too late, but you could do Nancita-chiuaua

    ReplyDelete
  18. Vandefifer is the better doubles player.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I would take Sisk over Dan all day. Both should dominate 3.5 though. I don't believe they have lost together.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dallas wins 8.5 Mens Sectionals over Houston

    ReplyDelete
  21. One of the HP doubles teams handed it to Sisk/Vandefifer in the city playoffs. They help Westlake but they are beatable.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Congratulations Dallas on your Sectional win. Nice bounce back after losing to Ft. Worth.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Westlake has 3 super seniors and Greenhill has 4 all going to sectionals on the same team. And yes kind of odd Westlake & Greenhill are 1 & 2 in their flight.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Did Branch take down Stoner?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bazan,
If Jerry signs, who do you like to win it? I'll give you privy info, after Corey! Sgrand, are they that good,or is that flight weak? They are on pace to beat my 35-5 record!
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jerry and Don are pretty much unbeatable in this 3.5 field right now so yep Westlake would be tough to beat. John/Dan are solid but not 3.5 ringers by any stretch but don't see but a few teams who could beat them and this move makes Westlake very strong although they will be down a few super seniors.

I do think it is intresting that the strongest players in 3.5 are super seniors right now but remember many of them play 7 days a week whereas I am lucky to play twice a week.

Lamson/Milke v. Wiley and partner. I take Greg on that one. Milke and Lamson are solid but don't have much in the way of weapons and Greg is a solid doubles player.

    But enough about everyone else,

SWAT TEAM 7-0 BIATCHES!!!!! First one to clinch a playoff birth. I love the people who picked against our team especially you anon biatches, how you like us now????

But actually the big news in 4.0 is Brookhaven playing a weekend doubleheader and beating the Village in the MOW and then taking out Springpark. Springpark is now 3-2 and will have to bring beer AND pizza and maybe burgers to entice me to lighten up my lineup on 11/2. I guess I have a different option than Coredawg we can win to keep out Springpark but the way they are struggling maybe we should let them in.

There is now 4 teams with 2 losses in our flight. It is hard to say which one will win out because all of them are solid but have weaknesses, I actually think the Village is the best of the group. After seeing their result I am starting to think Kyle Rhodes is injured or playing lefthanded because that loss killed them and Walter Moore is solid and can hang with Kyle but not beat him at 100%.

Interesting stuff so far and there are still many unposted results. TBar had a close win over Eldorado and are still hanging in Flight D.

  27. If I read the Move-up/split-up rule correctly, Defeo couldn't be added to the Westlake roster now.
It says no more than three players.
Harvey, Sisk, and Vandefifer are all on the Garland team that qualified for nationals.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wish Garland all the luck in the world at Nats. They worked really hard to get where they are (some shady, some not) but they won the matches on the court within the letter of the rules.
Instead of focusing on that, some of them now feel the need to try to find a way to influence the 3.5 league in the Fall (via Westlake).
Many were really glad they qualified for nationals simply to see them move-up/split-up.
I'd like to hear from other 3.5 players on what they think of this current situation.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Royal Oaks looks unbeatable and the haven't even played Oberman yet!

    ReplyDelete
  30. How is Nick Smith with Adrian Valdez at Ft Worth Major Zone

    ReplyDelete
  31. LIFETIME HAS QUALIFIED FOR DCC AS WELL. Lifetime wins 4-1 today and Eagles Landing lost to Hackberry. I told all of you Hackberry is good. EL defaulted 2 lines though. Hackberry might beat Brookhaven next week as well to give us the flight C championship. Congrats HP/Bazaan. See you in the DCC Finals... Eddie

  32. I agree Wiley and partner would thrash Lamson and Milke. If his partner has any kind of serve the partner will hold at will because Wiley knocks EVERYTHING off. If it is over the middle, he takes it and it does not come back. As someone who has played against him, you fear him at the net. You end up missing at least one return a service game because you know if it is not a good return, your partner will get hit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Don't know the scores, but it looks like LeClair and FW choke another one away at Sectionals today. Wonder if Kinson was coaching again! HA HA HA HA HA!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Congratulations to Dallas 8.5 Mens Combo team. You guys represented Dallas well at Sectionals. Great Job!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Looks every FW team blew it again - way to go guys! HA HA HA HA HA - Losers!

    ReplyDelete
  36. One thing is for sure, the Ft. Worth team will be throwing their captain under the bus, AGAIN!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yeah, Kinson is a real piece of work.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Looks like Prather of all people is going to Finish #1 in Dubs at Masters this year - Who's gonna beat him - Something about that just doesn't sound right!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does anyone know where to see the scores from sectionals. I know Roger and James, and that "choke" comment isn't typical of those two

    Did anyone see what happened?

I doubt Prather can beat those two after seeing all of them play

    Go FW!

    ReplyDelete
  40. 4.0 DCC qualified teams.

    1. HP/Bazaan
    2. Brookhaven/Pearlman
    3. Lifetime/Hill

Who else will round out the 8 teams that make it?????

    1. HP/Somabut
    2. Garland/Sisk
    3. Brookhaven/Helterbran
    4. Greenhill
    5. The Lakes

    ReplyDelete
  41. Congratulations to Dallas for winning sectionals. I was surprised to see they lost the first match but they made an amazing turnaround. Great job in representing Dallas well!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Everything is back to normal in Flight B of the 4.5 division. Royal Oaks and Oak Creek undefeated in the top two spots. High Point still in contention having not played either of them. They will need to beat at least one of them if not both.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Man, I love it when the Ft. Worth haters come out! To the person who wanted to know what happened. Dallas lost to SE Texas (who beat Dallas 3-0) 2-1 in the finals. James lost at line 1 in straights while Roger lost in a 10 pointer at line 2. It cracks me up that people rip on James as he is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I don't know Roger as well but he seems like a good guy as well. Anyways keep up the hating, it's entertaining to read.
Congrats to Dallas 8.5. Good bunch of guys and it's always entertaining when Freeman loses even if they made it to the finals with only two 4.5s. Although I'm afraid he may have recruited some more players this weekend for the evil empire. Long live the greatness of Dallas.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Prather couldn't beat his way out of a wet paper bag! Wait, Cary didn't I see where he just beat you. FW choking sounds normal to me. Dallas rules!

    ReplyDelete
  45. What's the matter, Sisk can't handle 4.0? Perhaps he needs to mix in a salad every now and again so he can move a little.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Come on Cary. Please separate the divisions. I could care less about Dallas 8.5.

    ReplyDelete
  47. No, that was Wiley that needed to mix in a salad every now and again.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've never seen either but who is bigger? Wiley or Sisk? Am I to guess they are the two biggest guys in Dallas tennis. A couple of guys who put their weight behind their shots?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sisk is quite a bit bigger than Wiley. Perhaps Wiley needs to stick to salads for while, and Sisk needs to skip a few meals all together. I'm guessing however, that Sisk would rather risk the heart attack over potentially losing all that weight behind his only weapon (serve).

    ReplyDelete
  50. Why are you so hateful?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes I agree, what has Sisk done to deserve this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Nothing, aside from eating too much and cheating to win. Now it looks like he's back at it. I don't think Sisk can play unless it's on a 3.5 team full of ringers, cheaters, or whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ha,I love my cerveza, but it will stop after nationals(except socially). Beer money goes to my son's mutual funds and the weight comes off!If all I have is a serve, you should beat me. I'm ready!
That rule is correct,I will get myself removed off the team to make room for Jerry!
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  54. I am sure Sisk would be up for it so I would be happy to team up with Sisk to play someone in the belly match. We can play shirts versus skins and he and I can be skins but with that display you had better lock up your women. We can then have beer and salad after the match.

To 7:17 person, thanks for the kind words. I don't know who you are but I don't recall knocking that much off over the middle in any match. You must have caught me on a good day... probably after a salad; rest assured, there are far more days that my feet are in concrete.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Greg,
Finally, I may get a chance to play with you! I AM IN!!!!!!But they won't surface.
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  56. Cary Please split the blogs so I don't have to listen to this crap.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Looking in TennisLink:

John Sisk was 0 - 3 in the local spring league. He was 0 - 2 in the City Championship and he was 0 - 1 at Sectionals.

    2008 spring league record: 0 - 6.

He has a big serve that rarely goes in. He is slow and out of shape and his strokes are horrible.

The guy cant win crap unless he gets a ringer to carry him. The match stats dont lie.

    BIG MOUTH NO GAME

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm really a 3.0 playing way out of level. If I play with a ringer, which I did all season, he couldn't win because our opponent's came at me and I couldn't hold up! It's just like a mixed match, but I think Wiley can get it done!!!
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  59. Cary, can you start a thread along the lines of hottest tennis women in Dallas?

    Thanks,

    Perv

    ReplyDelete
  60. Please adjust his request to be "Hottest Single Tennis women in Dallas"

I really prefer not to bring anyones wives into this

    ReplyDelete
  61. 6:36 poster,
I'd like for you to beat me 0-0 in singles, can you do that?
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  62. sorry anon, when you wake up in the AM you will have your posts split up.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It looks like Sisk and I are looking for a challenge. He is even willing to go at it with a High Point spare like myself. To the best of my knowledge, Sisk has never even seen me play so it is a great big leap of faith to play with a cripple like myself. I was timed in the 40 by sundial before the timer realized a Mayan calendar would give a more accurate reading. They presume I will finish around the time of that 2012 date.

We should probably invite all those hottest women to the great anonymous challenge match. Bring your ladies so Sisk and I can show them some real tennis bodies.

Our biggest challenge will be recognizing our opponents. We know anonymous and partner are powerful players because they told us but I have never met anonymous or seen anonymous play or know anyone who has played anonymous. I tried to find anonymous on tennislink but he must be getting ready to self rate and take the Dallas tennis community by storm.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I've read this scenario before.
    1. Trash talk goes to Sisk.
    2. Sisk fires back with an open challenge.
    3. Nobody accepts and they all shut up.

Will somebody please step up to the challenge or shut your mouth?

By the way, I didn't think it was possible but this fake Corey posts even more than me. Maybe he and I should challenge Sisk and Wiley.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't know who "coredawg" is - but trust me we would destroy Sisk and Wiley.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Corey, you are humble as always. You probably would kill Sisk and Wiley but if you are really that good, you don't have to tell anyone. They will figure it out without your help.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thanks for the tip anon. I won't mention what would happen if you and I were to play - people will figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sounds like Noel and Sisk could play "mixed" with each other, I will leave who would be the pitcher and who woule be the catcher up to your own thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm just a 3.0 thrilled to death to play with a 3.5 or 4.5!!! I just don't understand why the desire to play with me!!!
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yea I'll play mixed w/Corey,only if you put the skirt on me!
    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  71. I would like to see the "shirtless" match between Corey and Sisk, vs. Ice Pick and Doogie! Lets get it on!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I would like to see a shirtless match with Icepick's wife.

    ReplyDelete
  73. no wife talk please

    ReplyDelete
  74. Sorry I. Pick, my bad...
