4.0 Opening weekend

Flight A
The only highlight was the HP v. Lifetime match which did not go as the polls predicted with Lifetime actually grabbing two lines. Great win by Eddie Hill. I have seen Blumberg play and he is good but maybe too young to play in tough matches quite yet but he has time before the playoffs to get ready. T Bar dominated and I would like to see them play Lifetime or HP to see how they stack up.

Flight B
Springpark/Doyle had a good win this week along with Oak Creek. The marquee matchups turned out to be OK. The Brookhaven win over the Village had some lopsided individual results and I was surprised to see Rammo go down so easy but Sestak is a good singles player. The Lakes saved me from listening to Big John this week as they used a lineup of mostly downgraded 4.5 players to take out Garland somewhat easily. As I noted in a comment they did well and they did not put out their best lineup. I know Garland didn’t either which is unfortunate since this could have been a great first week match.

Flight C
The only real big upset of the weekend happened here as Canyon Creek beat Arnette’s Greenhill team but losing both singles and taking all the doubles matches. WOW! I knew Canyon Creek would contend but that was a shocking result to me.

Flight D
Only two matches reported my match and Springpark’s score. We did alright yesterday against Eldorado, a few jittery moments but we pulled it out. I guess Ratana was healthy enough to play or was that just a rumor. LB sacrificed at line 1 singles maybe fearing McGowan or Davis would be there but Walker did score a straight set victory over Pearson which was impressive. The doubles all went to 3rd set tiebreakers and Springpark won each and every one of them. Sounds like they had a tough match.

  1. Lifetime v. Highpoint was a very close match 3-2 and came down to final singles match which had a tiebreaker in 1st set. Lifetime was missing 4 of top 6 doubles players as well. hmmm??? Highpoint does have a very good team. Watch out for Lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Or maybe Somabut's team isn't quite as good as advertised. Take Carlquist for instance. He loses his match AND loses a set 6-1 but somebody listed him as the #2 dubs player in Dallas?? And I've seen his forehand. Not that impressed. I think this group might be a tad overrated.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Or maybe he was losing on purpose so he doesn't get bumped up. Think about it. CC has a free ride until the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  4. That's a cop out. Screw any team or person that does that. You win your good, you lose...trying to keep my rating down. BS. that's being a coward. you compete to win. if You get moved up, so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Lifetime lost to Highpoint, and we will take our loss graciously. You either win, or you didnt. Highpoint is a good team. Excuses are exactly that.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I'm sure glad Lifetime was missing some top doubles players or we could have never won. We were so lucky!(hint of sarcasm)

  7. I must admit, I love this Lifetime v Highpoint rivalry. Tough talk, but all in fun. Trying to get a mental edge on the competition.

    ReplyDelete
  8. i don't think any of them are tanking. how about that double bagel at line 3 by Pickett and Smith. If there was anyone who needed to tank to stay at 4.0 it would be icepick who appealed to get back down to 4.0 for this season but he and "snoop" played all out. They sound like a gang or something with those nicknames but apparently they were scary enough to scare Jonathan and his partner. I double Carlquist tanked, if you are looking to lose on purpose to stay at your current level, going 3 sets doesn't do much for you.

Trust me I thought losing a bunch of matches at 3 sets would make a 3.5 again last season, so much for that logic.

  10. Hey, that beatdown was legit. Doug and Joel played every point to win. We were just outclassed pure and simple.

Some days you give out a double bagel, other days it is given to you. All you can do is go get you some cream cheese; toast it up, and wash it down with some orange juice. At least with two bagels, I don't have to share with my partner. :-)

Next time out, shake it off, have short memory and do better. Can't do any worse that's for sure.

  11. you are making me hungry Jonathan since I haven't had lunch yet. I agree Jonathan you have to forget about those quick. They are good players.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ouch!! Highpoint wins without Brouer, Robinson, Newman, Voss, Kemp, Somabut, Martin or Sharp in the lineup. Anyone know this Bin guy?? Too bad they can't play 10 lines.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think their lineup was pretty strong this week. Keller will be one of their regular singles players in big matches and seems like Blumberg is getting a tryout at the top. They can only play 8 each time out and I don't think there is any separation in their doubles teams so it is tough to say, hey they won without "insert name here" in the lineup. Bin and Dima are good players but don't expect them in the big matches but should get some work in the regular season much like Blumberg. Blumberg did have a win this weekend but it was 6-2, 6-2 at 4.5, oops!

    ReplyDelete
  14. So that's it. Week one is over and nobody wants to talk B.S. anymore. I guess are 3-2 win over Lifetime scared everyone so bad they don't dare anger us.

  15. HP has a nice local team, but no ringers to get them much past the Dallas area. There is no dominant player on that team and it will catch up to them at sectionals.

    ReplyDelete
  16. At last some sh** talkin. What is your definition of a dominant player?
I've been to nationals twice and sectionals 4 or 5 times along with a couple of other people on the team. I think we will do just fine.

    Keith

  17. I'm still hurt by Stonebridge killign my team on my own blog. I'm going to send out a company wide email to log on and vote so we can rack up 100 votes. I feel like the ugly chick in the prom queen vote.

Oh Keith nice that you have been to Nats but this year you all are the 2nd best team at High Point. We will send you a postcard from Tuscon.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I assume you are going to Tucson on vacation. You can wave to me at HP if you see me. That will be as far as your team goes this season.

    Keith

    ReplyDelete
  19. Glad I could keep you entertained Keith. We will do our best to carry you all to sectionals and knock out Springpark but we can't give you that Tucson spot, we have already reserved our banner spot on the fence. you guys have a "nice" team but much like wooden racquets it is time for a new regime at High Point. We will need some good scrimmages before our trip to AZ though, we can play singles lines and you all can play doubles lines so it is actually beneficial for us.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You can go to Tucson with us. We might need an equipment manager or errand boy.

    Keith

    ReplyDelete
  21. I may just hold you to that. I am pretty short so I could fit in someone's carry on luggage.

Do you all have a plan to stay awake in Flight A until you play TBar in June? Seriously I mean you all are essentially playing 3.5teams. No offense to any of them I just wish they were in my flight. Oh well we will get some good matches before we have to whoop on you all in July.

Too bad I am short players this weekend and I am playing line 1 singles. Can someone forward that to Stonebridge?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Neither HP team is going to Nationals. If anyone goes from Dallas it will be Springpark.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow, that's a lot of noise from brother Keith. You must be great. Say, what happened to you (and partner) in the playoffs last spring on Russell's team? Hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I never said I was unbeatable, but I win alot more than I lose.

    Keith

    ReplyDelete
  25. You tell em Keith! It is the quiet team we must all worry about. Springpark is keeping a low profile, JIM, where are you? The big match I will be scouting is May 18th, Springpark vs High Point #2 (Bazan). Yep, I did say #2, Noaman beat me easy tonight in the LeagueTennis Finals, 1 and 3. But then again, I'm not a singles player. And heck, I'm like line 6 doubles on the High Point Somabut team. Cary is right though, we can't be complacent guys, this A division is BOORRRRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG!!!!

Jonathan, you took the double bagel like a champ! A True sportsman. I had 1 double bagel given to me in my life, and I remember exactly when, where, and by who. Returned the favour to one of the two, with 1 bagel at least, but never have met the other again. See, if you remember your losses, you can learn from it and get it to motivate you. Wouldn't you want to see get the opportunity to take it out on Snoop on a singles court! Hey, now that would be worth watching, betting...

  26. Cary,
You might suprise yourself with a line 1 win at singles. Go for it!!!
    Pickett

    ReplyDelete
  27. And I agree, J Marcus handled the double bagel with class. I'm sure someone will double bagel me and I'm going to steal his line except I like butter not cream cheese. Washing it down with OJ is perfect.
    haha

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kirby, in all fairness to you, I believe the score was 6-1.6, 6-3; that was a tough deuce game. Thanks again for letting me take 10 minutes during change-overs because of my poor conditioning.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Keith- a dominant player is one who could compete (not necessarily dominate, but compete) two levels above their rating. Most teams that get to nationals have them, Sarosh and Kern last year, the guy from Waco the year before, I believe even Ron Morrison (from your '04 team that did not make nationals) got bumped to 5.0 last year but appealed back down to play on Rustys team. Thus I stand by the statement that HP does not have that kind of player. Lots of depth is good and well but there is a team out there that has a couple of ringers that will be tough come sectionals....... but I hope HP does win, just being realistic. And maybe trying to fire you guys up to start practicing.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mighty Springpark is making noise, maybe a nervous one. They just added Greg Odell to thier roster. I thought they would hold solid at 15 players. Odell doesn't have a history except for a loss to Kraemer and Ludwig in 3 sets. I expect another loud addition later in the season possibly? what do you all think? or they will just move Davis and McGowan up to singles possibly.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've never played Sarosh, but I played Kern in Ft Woth MZ last year. He is a great player, but I don't think he is quite a 5.0 player. I lost to him 6-3 7-6, and I know I'm not even close to competing at 5.0. I've never played or seen anyone at the 4.0 level who could compete with a true 5.0. The year we finished 2nd at nationals I guess we did it without ringers. I must play on alot of lucky teams since we're all just average 4.0 players.

    Keith

    ReplyDelete
  32. thanks anonymous, my HP point team will try and represent Dallas and TX well. Oh were you talking about Keith's team. Puhleeese!

Kirby I am also looking forward to our Springpark match. Jim has told me he will take it easy on us and make us feel good by spotting us some games. He does read the blog but isn't an idiot like me and throw my team out there to get crushed in online polls.

I wish I could look that far ahead but we play Stonebridge then Brookhaven and even if we pull of the huge upset against Spark our reward is playing LB Houston in the next match. Yikes!!

Seriously who did I piss off to get dropped in this flight?

the next four matches are essentially playoff matches, if we don't go 3-1 or better we are out. But to be honest I wouldn't have it any other way I know we will get some great matches all spring although temp hit 95 yesterday so it officially feels like summer in TX, you ready old men?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jason Kern would get killed at 5.0, just like any player who is playing 4.0 right now. I play above average 4.5 and I watched some 5.5s the other day and nobody I've played in 4.5 could beat them a game.

    ReplyDelete
  34. The problem with ringers is if they get upset, which does happen, the team loses because they don't know how to rally and win 3 other lines.
Is Kern even playing anymore? Jason's a nice guy who I enjoyed playing against in Fort Worth, but he's not good enough to beat the true 5.0s.
And it was nice of anonymous to mention my playoff losses last year. Too bad they can't put their name on the bottom. Give me someone to go after during the season or playoffs.

    Steven

    ReplyDelete
  35. That is very true because as you advance you are going to hit a team with someone who matches up with you well and then all the recruiting, sandbagging, etc is out the window and you actually have to go out and win a tennis match.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am keeping a low profile because we were lucky to win our first match. Walker was the best singles player playing that day. If I hadn't let Vincent know about the 1 game handicap that I get for every 10 years difference in age, our match would have been close. He just couldn't come back from the 3-0 start deficit. All our doubles matches were 3rd set tiebreakers, so it doesn't appear that I have enough ringers.
I knew there was a great Odell player out there, but I didn't know it was Shelly and not her husband Greg. He hasn't played in 10 years and has bad knees. I guess I'll have to play him against Cary's team to give them a chance. Or would you mind if I had Shelly play instead?

  37. Ouch! The Great Jim has finally spoken! He wants to put his women against us. Okay, sure as long as I play against your wife too - though I do remember playing against her and yourself, and lost the first set 4-6, and it was like 1-2 in the 2nd when I realized I couldn't win the match. So I had you call 911, I'm sure you remember. And I had a 4.5 woman partner. Jim, what do you do for a living? You must be paying these ringers well, as they are attracting to you like bears on honey. Oh, my guess is you are retired. ha! I will be glad to let you give me 1 game for each 10 years ... for each 10 yrs you have been playing tennis LONGER than I have. Oh well, alas, I must wait til July 18th to play you, and since I am line 6, it probably won't even happen then.

  38. I have played against Kirby twice and they were both memorable events. The first time was at the Bent Tree indoor doubles tournament. Our first match was scheduled for 11:30 and I thought that was Saturday morning. It was Friday night. I was woken from a drunken stupor (from the Bent Tree party) at 11:45 by a phone call and my wife's laughter. She said it was the club asking where my partber and I were. The opponents would wait for us if we wanted to play. So I talked to my partner and we rushed over there at about 1am and played Kirby and his partner. I thought this guy must really like to play tennis.
The next time was as Kirby described. We have a long first set of mixed in about 95 degree heat and he collapses on the court near the start of the second set. We call 911 and the entire Plano medical emergency team shows up and take him off to the hospital on a stretcher. Since he had waited for me, we offered to wait until he got out of the hospital that night to finish the match. Unfortunately, HP closed before he was released, so we didn't get to finish.
I can't wait to see what happens the next time we play.
    Jim

    ReplyDelete
  39. Great Jim,
Not true. Ask Marian at Highpoint: I actually was released from the hospital after only a couple of hrs, I couldn't believe it. So I stopped by Highpoint, mainly to let them know I was fine, and I told Marian, "where are my opponents? they said they would wait.". But since I am not a HP ringer, and you seem to specialize in singles, we may never meet on a court again. Okay, tell me your next singles tournament and I will enter. Yep, it's all about the comp...

  40. Jim and Kirby, that is good stuff. I can just see the Kirbster passed out on the court (but from a mixed match?) cmon Kirby

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm going to hold you to that Jim, my 25 mph serve usually matches up well with bad knees. I doubt I make it on the court for that match though but like Kirby said if we play out our rosters me and Greg can meet at line 5 doubles, I am a little stronger than Kirby I just moved up from line 6.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Cary, I didn't know your team had a line 6 ?

Icepick, it could have been C Dubs - I still would have passed out. I was suffering from allergic reactions to wheat bread I had just eaten. Turns out I can't have any glutens near match time. That and the fact that Jim never misses a ball, it just keeps coming back - he should be 5.0!
    Kirbster

    ReplyDelete
  43. Gluten is Kirby's kryptonite, good to know. I heard Keith's kryptonite is shellfish. So come July we will take you all out to lunch before we play.

    Jim,

Feel free to share any allergic reactions for Gene, Mitch and yourself.

  44. There was a big DQ in FTW this week. Tam T. Huynh of Grand Prairie (that is my hometown, how didn't I get this guy I could have hid him better) They let him go for 6 matches before the axe came down. The bad thing is it ruined this team's chances they went from undefeated to 3-3. Ouch!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Cary,
Like Keith said, you can bring the water bottles, the lunch, carry the bags...Ouch!!
Indeed, you are in a very tough flight, and only one wins, and then one can win the qualies. Your energy will be sucked dry by the playoffs. I see you did pick up Lorenzo and Kyle though. That will help a lot. hmmm the plot thickens.

  46. Whoa! I am trying to remember a bigger recent upset in 4.0. JCC beats down BH/Bartlett 4-1. Don Buford who got mentioned in those top 5 lists got taken out by Drazner?? Is Bartlett done, over the hill or was this just a hiccup?
Giuhat taking out Somabut last season was a big upset but when you play friends it always is closer than expected. I think they rely a lot on Don to win his line 1 singles and with probably only two spots per flight it will be tough for them the rest of the way.

Also still missing a score from the Hackberry/LB match in that flight what is up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Cary,
Check the history. Last season in 4.0 Don played #2 Line singles. Heck, I almost went undefeated playing Line 2 Singles.

Very few teams have two top singles guys. Just look at the line 2 singles of that match. Jeff Archer, won at 1&0. That would have been Don's score if he were playing #2 that week.

Move Don back down to #2, and watch his results sky rocket once again.

    ReplyDelete
  48. i know he usually plays #2 but he is their best singles player by far. Archer is no #1 and Lazarra is hot and cold so if Don doesn't win his match their team score is a coin flip.

This is no knock on the JCC I did mention them as a possible surprise team but I don't even think that was their best lineup and they upset a playoff team from the last two seasons.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wow, I’m very surprise to see that Brookhaven (Bartlett) lost to JCC. A 4-1 lost …. Unbelievable. What an upset!

Don Buford might have been a little tired for his Sunday afternoon USTA league match. Don played in the USTA Oak Creek tournament and made it to the finals. He lost in the finals on Sunday to a guy name Clifford Webb (7-5, 6-3).

Bartlett didn’t get any support from his doubles. Each of his doubles lines went to a third set tie break and none of them could close.

Congratulations to the JCC team! Way to go!

  50. FANTASY DRAFT
If all 4.0 players in Dallas were distributed to teams by draft - WHO WOULD BE YOUR FIRST PICK????

    ReplyDelete
  51. it took a week to post it but the brand new team LB Houston/Jones may be the best LB team out there as they walloped Hackberry/Ellis last Sunday. Interested how they stack up against a hungry Bartlett team tomorrow. If they go 0-2 to start it will be tough to come back. I did look into this team but so many brand new players there was really nothing to say except to watch and see and I guess they have started off rather well.

    ReplyDelete
  52. In response to what a "ringer" is... I will agree that it seems hard in my limited experience to do well at nationals without some players who can play above level. What that means I'm not really sure. Let me the first to tell you that Sarosh would be not be embarassed at 5.0 ever and I could win a "game" off a 5.0 player but so could a lot of people. We had the good fortune of beating the Dallas team 5-0 in the finals of sectionals and still went 1-2 in our pool at nationals although we didn't get many breaks. If a team wants to compete at nationals you have to at least split singles. Unless the Dallas team has improved their singles they are going to have a hard time. Newman is a very decent player and a great guy but he would not have won a set at nationals in my opinion. I think a ringer would be able to beat a top player at the next level on a given day but not consistently. I did pretty well at 4.0 last year but at no point will a claim to be a 5.0 player. As far as whether I'm playing. I played Abilene and made semis in singles and finals in doubles. However thats just Abilene and a small draw. I am so far undefeated at line 1 doubles in 4.5 but they have all been very tight. I hope you do well this year Steven as I think you guys should do very well with the exodus of top players from 4.0 this year. I know I wouldnt want to play you guys. In the end I don't think anyone from Dallas should be packing their bags for Tucson as they are just too many variables and good teams out there. I will say that the Houston city championships were harder than Sectionals last year. They have some severe "sandbaggers" down there. Thats right Freeman I said it :). Good luck to everybody and if anyone wants to hit let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Typed that on my phone last night so please forgive the typos. The poor grammar was all me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hey Jason,
I DO appreciate your commentary! You obviously are a heck of a player, as proven by your Ft Worth Major Zonal last year where you were finalist in all 3 events, men's dubs, mixed dubs, and mens singles, and then winning 2 of the 3. I think all the candidate Dallas 4.0 teams have a tough row to hoe ahead of them. We scout each other's teams, research them, and make sure there is "fair play", whatever that is. IF we were to find said ringer, and he was only one, I would figure he would have to play just about every match at Nat'ls, yes? So if he had to play two a days, he better be under the age of 30, like you ? Or else just have 3 or 3 or 4 ringers - and if you have all that, why don't you just pay their way also. lol And all this is for what? A plate, a towell, a trophy, or maybe a thermos or bag? I'd like to say it is for HONOR - the honor of being the Nation's best at that level, but then I think we've established that "level" IS very wide and very vague.

For what it's worth, good win last year and congrats to Jason's (both Jasons) team last year for winning Texas! Yeah, I know it is late coming.
    Kirby Martin

    ReplyDelete
  55. Kirby,
First let me clear up a couple of things. While I wish I was under 30 and appreciate the sentiment, I'm 35 and fat. Second of all I hadn't read any of the comments about the Houston team from the earlier posts until this morning. I really don't want to bring it back up except to say that we were all computer rated and that it seemed as though we were in everyone's heads last year. I had a great time last year and feel like I played for fun and the honor of representing Texas at Nationals, nothing more.
As far as having multiple "ringers" I think that you do have to have multiple players that can compete at the top level to compete as you know. With the stacking that goes on you never know how you are going to match up and therefore depth is vital. Once again I have very limited experience in this arena but it seems as though in order to be competitive you have to have players that can consistently play at a high level. Obviously you have that since you returned the vast majority of a team that went to Sectionals last year. You have two players who appealed down and two self rated players. The majority of your team is at the "top" of the 4.0 ratings system (as screwed up as it is). I have a lot of respect for several of the players on your team that I met on my "tours" last year and know you will be competitive with any team. I think what we had last year was a team that had four very solid doubles teams as well as five guys that could play singles very competitively. We also had the majority of our team playing Major Zones so we were used to playing multiple times in a weekend. That is what allows you to make it through the tough weekends like city championships and sectionals. All I was saying is that it is hard to rely on your doubles all the time.
Finally you have to have players that are below their full potential at the beginning of the year. They also have to be willing to put in the hours to reach that potential. Everyone wants that guy who has taken several years off and is getting back into it. (that was my story) Obviously they are going to improve much more quickly throughout the year than someone who has been playing at their full potential at their level. In the end you need a team committed to working hard throughout the year so they can peak on the important weekends. Trust me I care much more about the people I met and the fun times I had rather than the plate, trophy, towel (although the Masters towel is the best tennis thing I received last year :) ).
Good luck to everyone in Dallas. I enjoy following the blog.

  57. Breaking News: Spring Park/Walters lost to Stonebriar/Mauzey 3-2. WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Don't get too excited. Scorer's error. SP won 3-2. Stonebridge is pretty good, though

    ReplyDelete
  59. ...or SpringPark is overrated???

    ReplyDelete
  60. I agree SP has been way overrated. They have lost 3 out of 4 singles matches and 5 of their 6 doubles wins were 4rd set tiebreakers. How dominant is that?

    ReplyDelete
  61. I saw the SP scores as well, kind of crazy. Our match was tough today. We lost 10-8 and 10-7 respectively in those deciding matches. Lorenzo was sought out today and found by SBRDGE,he told me he would have a tough time with Shaun and that was a tough one. Very good tennis today all around and I think with that SP score it shows our flight is very even all around.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It looks like SpringPark played every line with someone different from last week. Does anyone know if Joe Swift normally plays singles for them..

    ReplyDelete
  63. so does anyone know if it was scorer's error or did Stonebriar beat Springpark??

    ReplyDelete
  64. SpringPark won.. It was an error they won all of the doubles lines and lost all the singles.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jason K.,
Overall, sounds like you had a great year in 2007. Kudos! You've got some great points on teamwork, and training "you have to have players that are below their full potential at the beginning of the year. They also have to be willing to put in the hours to reach that potential.". Thx

As to Springpark, Joseph Swift would be about line 6 singles for them. Not one of the 3 ringers even played in the match, and as someone pointed out they fielded an entirely different lineup, and anonymous says they STILL won the match. SP is NOT overrated.

    Kirb

    ReplyDelete
  66. I also see Brookhaven Bartlett lost again this week to open 0-2. They lost every line except #3 doubles today.

    ReplyDelete
  67. yep curious to see what becomes of this "error" but either way Springpark may not be as deep as we think. Trust me I don't want to rile them up for our match but I am starting to realize there are no ringers just some good smart players in our 4.0 league. I have to draft unproven talent onto my team since Kirby and Bob suck up all the HP regulars but yesterday our match I think came down to being beaten not necessarily by a better team but by a more experienced and disciplined team. That is no knock against either my players or Stonebridge, just an observation. It is that choice would you rather be smart or sexy? My choice is an obvious one but I have a huge gigantic ego.

I think that is why the SB v. SP match will be good because the doubles play I watched yesterday should do well. The difference will be Nix, if we can win his line they will have a chance otherwise I don't see the upset happening. Bo was a good player to watch I have never seen someone hit out on every shot like he did. I wish I had a little of that in my game.

  68. Jason,

I think you give yourself too much credit on being fat. Why do you think I kept offering you chips and beer at the Abilene tournament? Anyway, your typical points of serve, return and put away volley don't really test your fitness. If you want a clearer definition of fat, see my buddy Don Allen. Just kidding Don...you saw me wolf down those enchiladas.

  69. Hey Ken,
I aspire to be able to drink as much as you or have Don's figure.

  70. I'm just happy to still be a B cup. Of course you know, Kern, Ratana was drunk as a skunk when we played you in Waco and he was distracted by that chick I brought to watch. If he had been sober, it still wouldn't have mattered.

  74. Who's the homo though that thinks Icepick is delicious? I didn't think we allowed that on here, Bazan. Ok, back to the wife, I'd play Icepick at the North Pole if he promised his wife would be there.
