Cities are Done... Congratulations to your City Champions!

City Championships are in the books.  I will make an On to Sectionals Post later this week after I take some time to look at a few other cities.  As someone mentioned, I managed to pick the champs for all levels.  If I were this good at picking numbers, I would be rich playing tennis somewhere cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

With nothing else...  Your winners are:

5.0+  The Village took down a very good Lakes and then a very very good TBar team.  Any of these three teams were capable of representing Dallas well at sectionals.  I think this team could have a legitimate chance.

4.5  JCC won as expected.  The beat a good Oak Creek team who comes in as the runner up in this round robin.  I think this team should also represent Dallas well at sectionals.  Any word on wildcards?

4.0  High Point beat a team of players and the only player I have ever heard of was the Captain Moehler and that goes waaay back.  I am not even sure it is the same guy.  High Point is everything they were advertised.  I can't imagine Dallas does not get a wildcard here so I am sure the new kids on the block will be getting a second chance.

3.5  Fretz went through QT and then they make it through City playoffs.  Second place is McKinney.  Like 4.0, I think 3.5 always gets a wildcard so they should be testing their might against the rest of the state.

3.0 High Point had this one already won so they didn't play.  I was pretty sure on this pick.

Those are your city champs and likely sectionals representatives.  It is time for the bickering to stop and cheer for your Dallas rivals.  Lets be honest, Dallas is a great city but we have underwhelmed at sectionals all too often.  We are always competitive but it is time to bring home some sectionals championships.

Best of Luck and I am hoping to get my creative juices flowing this week for something entertaining.

  1. Alan A. has no problem bringing home sectional championships, that is a given. What is also given is the bickering will not stop so just get used to it. Tony Le will make this town proud and bring Dallas a sectional champion. He is caption of the year in my book.

  2. Tony Le and all of his cheating players are low lifes and will not make anyone proud. Just proves that he knows how to cheat best, that's about all.

    3. Because Houston always wins? I'm not 11:39 but I am picking Dallas over Houston. Tony has put together a team for the ages.

  5. FYI WILDCARDS
USTA Texas let the leauge coordinators know about the wild cards before the 4th of July.
The DTA just choose to keep you in the dark until the last minute.
I guess they don't trust you.

  6. DTA doesn't trust them.......and with good reason

    1. Since USTA Texas started distributing the flights but not identifying which wildcard city was in which flight, there is ZERO reason to not let people know. Every other city lets people know, only the DTA fights with their own teams this much. You know there is a wildcard, not which flight you would be in. Only an idiot would willingly take the wildcard and run the risk of ending up in Houston's flight. Just the DTA being more difficult than any other city in Texas.

    2. It is a bit of a misnomer saying the DTA.
It's Sherri Rejebian and Brandon Myers.
      More specifically Rejebian.
Any problems should be directed at her, she tries to stay back in the shadows and pulls the strings.

    1. AJ crying again? That is like saying water is wet. Most of us have seen it.

    2. Zacry posting at 8:35. Not sure I would brag about beating AJ in a final. Anything to keep your name out there I guess. Spelled his name wrong as if we dont know its him. What is more interesting is will his 40 and over team let him go to sectionals. I know some of the guys on that team because I played them in cities at 4.0 and they are very close to telling him to stay home.

    3. You think Tony Le would go play on a team with Zacry????? You have to be kidding. Tony would never do that.

    4. If Tony wants to go to nationals he better let him play

    5. Tony doesnt need him to go to nationals. He is not even the best player on that team, not even close.

  12. Tony Le's team is stacked! Must be hard for them to decide who plays singles when everybody is so good.

    1. Tony has done a great job putting players in to position to win.

    2. What? Putting 5.0s in as 4.0s. That definitely puts them in a position to win.

    3. I have seen those supposed 5.0 guys like aguilar play. They are not 5.0's and Tony got the shaft.

  13. I would like to congratulate the Le/High Point team. They did a great job turning it around this season. These guys combined for a 4-27 record at the 4.0 level in the fall and those guys went 40-5 in the spring! Must have taken a lot of lessons or something. Congrats on the hard work!!!
