QT Set 4.5. The Cruiser Weight Division

Now that the QT schedule has been released, it is time to discuss our Cruiser Weights.  This is the 4.5s.  These guys are a very skilled bunch but not quite Heavy Weights.  We have a four team round robin.

The teams
Fretz/Noel is the 1 seed.  He only has 12 on  his roster so he has to hope everyone is available.  Fridays can be tough to get 8 out when you have a small roster

Lakes/Way is the 2 seed.  He has a deep roster but not a lot in 'star power.'  Pollock and Fess are alwasy good.  Valtierra has been around forever.

Oak Creek/Pribadi is the 3 seed.  I was surprised as I rarely pay attention to this team.  When I look at the roster, I see Mario has put a good team together.  He raided the orient Quang is a good player as well as other.

Greenhill/Rossouw is the 4 Seed and the Wildcard.  4 Seeds usually don't fare well but Marc has a very deep and talented roster.

I am picking Greenhill at the 4 seed to win.

Good Luck Guys

  1. If he is the 4 seed, why is he predicted to win? Haha. I agree that the match Friday will be pretty big.

    1. Go prove him wrong. I think Murray is right. Marc was just playing the game after he messed up the flight.

  2. Way to go Corey! I heard your team in 8.0 mixed won yesterday and is headed to sectionals!!!! I am so glad SP and kelley finally not going. This has made my day! No more nationals for whiny baby kelley! there is justice in this world!!!!

    1. Let's not get crazy. We slithered in playoffs at the 11th hour and we will have to win one match just to face the juggernaut that is Springpark. Uphill battle to say the least.

  3. Based on the 5-0 drubbing during the season Corey's team must be a huge favorite on Friday! He has assembled a strong team with a few recent 5.0 bumpdowns (Corey himself, Thadius, Tusa & Jean). Pity some didn't join Reiman when invited which would have enhanced Dallas chances of having a super strong team to make a run at Nationals..... But don't underestimate the Pribadi team - in particular their singles strength. And yes Q is strong along with a few others dubs guys (like Cuong To) on that roster. Lakes always tough! Morgan and Henderson are both dangerous.

    1. Yes, Cuong To must be SOLID. He beat Sam Huhn 1 and 2 in doubles. And look out for Joe Vo, he made mincemeat of Kelley 2 and 2 . That must be a solid team.

    2. Nobody on my team is Nationals caliber. Only player on Michael's team nationals caliber shouldn't be allowed to play. Not in USTA to go to Nationals. Would rather have fun, competitive tennis on a weekly basis than play two line three doubles matches and go to sectionals.

    3. Dallas 4.5 making a run at nationals? You are kidding right? The best players are not even in the playoffs. Some decent teams but nowhere near national quality. No Pickett captained teams means no shot at Nats.

  4. 4.0 Flights are bullshit. Ohl, Noel and Head are all three better than the other flight. DTA sucks again

    1. 3 Oak Creek teams. That facility must be making a comeback. Still, those are bad flights.

    2. to 2:47pm, the teams are seeded based on their regular season records one through six and then placed in groups 1-4-5 and 2-3-6. It is not a DTA conspiracy.
