4.0 Week 8

So a pretty good weekend as the playoff picture is getting ever closer to being decided and should be locked in by the end of day on Saturday barring any major upsets in the final weekend. There is still positioning as far as the DCC and QT to be decided though in the final two weeks.

Flight A
T Bar all but clinched the top spot in this flight as they beat Hackberry this past weekend. Hackberry has an outside chance at a wildcard but they would have to sweep their final two matches and they would still need some help from other teams. Team Bob had a close victory but keeps qualifying more and more players for the playoff run. There is one development I could see happening in this flight that could be dramatic but I will hold off on making that prediction until it happens...

Flight B
Looks like the MOW occurs in our flight again as Garland takes on Brookhaven/Bartlett for a claim for 1st place in this flight. A win would guarantee Garland a spot in the DCC since all other teams in this flight would have two losses. Of course I am cheering for that result. Go GTC!!! We made it through Stonebridge in a tight match last weekend but now sit with them hoping to rack up some style points this weekend and await the outcome of the MOW.

Flight C
This flight heated up as the Village took out LBH/Hicks this weekend and now it is a three team race between those two and Brookhaven/Pearlman. They all play each other over the next two weeks. LBH has HP/Harrigan which will not be easy followed up by BH/Pearlman so they could move up to first or drop out entirely. The Village has BH and then JCC so I like their chances to split those matches. I want to make a prediction on this but it is just too damn confusing. If I have to make a wager I am putting my money on BH and the Village to come out with the 1st and 2nd spots here. Not sure why I have picked the Village in the past and they have let me down so I am due on this pick. Most likely whoever finishes 3rd will not have strong enough numbers to get a wild card spot.

Flight D
ZZZZZZZZZZZ. This flight is just as boring as flight A now. I guess the only mystery is how many more players Eddie can get DQ'ed in two weeks. It is too bad the big final week showdown will not decide anything more than seeding in a round robin tourney which I can't see being advantageous to anyone. I did hear Eddie had a rough go at the Plano Open as he had a set lead and up 5-1, 40-love and somehow lost the 2nd set and the 3rd set. Ouch!

wow, being up 1 set plus 5-1 and 40-love -> and LOSING??? thats got to be one of the biggest chokes in history. no other way to look at it. i guess the pressure of such a important tournament (not) just got to those turds

    ReplyDelete
  2. That is so yesterday's news! It was fun to tease them at first, but its over already. Everyone already knows that Myers went down with dehydration and 2 legs that locked up on him from dehydration. Myers could only stand there. It was 1 against 2.

    ReplyDelete
  3. But 1 was Eddie. Eddie cannot be beat. He would have got to serve and that is 4 straight aces. How can this be?

    ReplyDelete
  4. You all have to know by the way I dish it out that I have to be able to take it as well. I was a fun match to be a part of. Brandon showed some amazing toughness, refusing to default after severe cramps in both calves hit him during second set. Dre and Alex were good to give him the time he needed so he could at least stand up and make a go of it. I would like to say it was all about Brandon's inability to move, but those guys made some great plays as well to come back and win. Congrats to them. Brandon and I will be back at full strength to fight another day.

  5. I'm interested to hear about this pending development in flight A?

  6. LIKELY PLAOFF LINE-UP

    DCC (Sorry no Round Robin)
    T-Bar-M
    Garland/Sisk
    Brookhaven/Pearlman
    Spring Park
    HP/Somabut
    QT Winner

    QT (5 Team RR)
    LBH
    Brookhaven/Bartlett
    LTF/Hill
    LBH
    HP/Bazan

I look for HP/Bazan to win the QT and make the DCC.

In a big upset, Garland/Sisk takes the DCC this year. (Garland/Sisk also wins 3.5 DCC by the way.)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Nancy must love that prediction.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Off course he does, especially when it is Sisk giving the prediction. He did everything but forget to sign his name!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Garland/Sisk sweeps all Dallas levels next spring.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Is that person above a Wacko. Hp/Bazaan ain't getting to the playoffs so how do they win the QT. Look at the standings. Oak Creek and Lifetime will win 5-0 this week and then match up each other. That will be a 3-2 or 4-1 match at worst either way. HP/Bazaan has too many lines lost to pass either one of those teams.

    ReplyDelete
  11. There are 2 spots for wildcards. These are likely to go to Lifetime and Bazan unless lifetime beat Oak Creek in which case Oak Creek gets it.

The prediction is pretty close except I don't see 2 LBH teams getting in. Hicks will make it and Oak Creek needs to be there instead of the 2nd LBH team. Sadly, without a miracle (like Bazan losing one of their last 2 matches) , Hackberry look like they'll miss out by 1 wildcard spot based on tie-breakers.....

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sisk will think he's back playing Puerto Rico if and when they play High Point Somoabut.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yep I think the poster was correct with their assessment but forgot OC instead of LBH. That QT will be tough but whoever comes out of it (thanks for the vote of confidence) they will be a force to be reckon with since they will have just come out on top of a very tough 5 team RR.

    Russow,

You can ask me offline about my thoughts about a Flight A mix up but I don't want to influence anyone by stating it on the blog but if you just look at the top teams and their rosters you might be able to figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sisk has hard time recruiting cheaters at the 4.0 level because he uses them for his 3.5 team!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Excellent point!

    ReplyDelete
  16. No kidding, last year he could have had Flora and Defeo for his 4.0 team, instead he dropped them even further down to the 3.5 level. Classy guy!!

Rumor has it he has 2 more guys this year that he has done the same thing with. The biggest cheater in Dallas league tennis!

  17. Andre Vahdat Fan!!!June 16, 2009 at 2:07 PM

Andre just signed with the HP 4.5 team. I'm sure we will see him in the line-up this weekend if they want him to qualify for the playoffs. Taking bets now -

    A. Andre Vahdat fan!
    B. Andre wishes he was back at 4.0

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Andre will do fine. He won't continue blowing people away, but he will be competitive. That's the way it's supposed to work.

    Good Luck Andre.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I think Andre will do well in 4.5.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Andre will enjoy the competition more at 4.5. However, he will have to get use to losing. I don't think 4.5 high point can afford to play him. They need every line they can get, and they have much better players than Andre.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I believe Andre played his 4.5 match this morning, as the Lakes had a scheduling issue and neeeded to play a match early.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Well if that's true what was the result?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Andre have trouble at 4.5? First match at 4.5 he won 6-1,6-3

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wharever happened to last years Andre, Forrest Feuille?

    ReplyDelete
  25. He broke his ankle in the second game and conceded the match

    ReplyDelete
  26. I guess his weakness is his achilles heel lol....

    ReplyDelete
  27. High point added another 4.5 - Chris Dean.

    Biggest roster in Dallas. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "That is so yesterday's news! It was fun to tease them at first, but its over already. Everyone already knows that Myers went down with dehydration and 2 legs that locked up on him from dehydration. Myers could only stand there. It was 1 against 2."

    Eddie???

    ReplyDelete
  29. When I post. You know it. When have you ever heard me talk like that Ahab.

    Eddie.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Everyday! You probably have 10 accounts on here:P

    ReplyDelete
  31. Chris Dean is a good add if he is in shape.

    ReplyDelete
  32. You must mean for the 4.5 league. He is on Ngyuen HP team. Eddie probably already tried to add him to LT.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I know it's late responding, but I don't read this religiously like some of you.
I love when comments are made without knowing all the facts and some get distorted...I guess that is some people's entertainment...oh well. Pressure was not present, I just don't like letting teammates down.
The 4 LTF teams that played in the tourney, for the most part, never really played together, so it was alot of fun doing it and also enjoyed the trash talking along the way.

    I don't think I drank enough. Ha!
    Beer anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Gerber beat Cary 6-1 7-5. Time to get bumped down to 3.5 big fella.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Here is how it will turn out.

Lifetime beat OC to end season. Lifetime wins QT dropping only 2 lines along the way(probably Eddie both times). Lifetime meets HP in the DCC final and wins 3-2.

    See you at sectionals!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. With HP so strong, the best LT could hope to do would be second in the DCC. All teams other than HP are playing for second, but that would still get them in the Sectionals.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I personally think Tbar M is for real and might be the team to beat in Dallas. They may not have beaten HP's best lineup but they beat a good one. They are no joke and you better bring your "A" game vs them.

    ReplyDelete
  38. without a round robin in DCC, it will come down to seeding and who is in which flight. It's not the best way to measure the best 2 teams in Dallas as the top perceivable 2 or 3 teams could be in the same flight, but it is the way it is. Will not be good for any team that is in HP's flight. But hey, every body has a bad day sometime, it just might be during DCC for HP.

    ReplyDelete
  39. No matter what TBAr and HP will not be in the same Flight at DCC because they are in same flight now. So whoever get's to DCC Final will have to beat either of those teams. Same is true for Sprinpark and Lifetime. They cannot be in same DCC flight.

    ReplyDelete
  40. HP has 22 players to TBar's 21 so they must be better. There are only 2 matches at cities that count so which of you losers won't get to play?

    ReplyDelete
  41. What team has the most players? I heard a Houston team has 26 players. That is insane.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sienna Plantation does have 26 players.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "Sisk will think he's back playing Puerto Rico if and when they play High Point Somoabut.

    June 16, 2009 11:51 AM"

THAT QUOTE MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD!!! VERY FUNNY!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Who is Sienna Plantation and who cares if they have 26 players? Is that Freeman's 4.0 team?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nope. Freeman's team sucks this year.

    ReplyDelete
  46. anon 9:35 am
great point. we'll get a 4.0 wild card entry to sectionals for sure. so it really matters which teams finish 1st and 2nd.

a problem with the 6-team pool is thats not a good way to pick the best 2 teams since top 2 or 3 may be in the same pool. a round robin is much better.

    ReplyDelete
  47. yep with the flight system you can't just say me and Team Bob are making it to sectionals because you might just be in his flight.

I will leave it up to Rockettman who seems to be a playoff flight expert, it makes me dizzy when I try and figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So when did i become an expert at anything (outside of rehabbing knees)?

You must be confusing my big mouth with someone else's smarts.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Assuming that these are the teams that make it to the play-offs:
    T-Bar-M
    Garland/Sisk
    Brookhaven/Pearlman
    Spring Park
    HP/Somabut

    QT:
    Oak Creek
    Brookhaven/Bartlett
    LTF/Hill
    LBH
    HP/Bazan

I would be interested to hear how the "experts" handicap the field - what at the Vegas lines?

It seems that it is assumed that Bazan makes it out of the QT which is not so clear cut to me considering they will probably have to go through Lifetime.

My Thoughts (I am not an expert!):

    Favorites Somabut even money
    4:1 Garland
    5:1 Spring Park
6:1 Bazan - if they get out of the QT.....
6:1 Lifetime - losing Vahdat is a big blow; have to get bout of the QT
7:1 TBar - their singles is v strong but when it comes down to the big teams they lose all 3 doubles lines
10:1 Oak Creek - I think they're behind LT & Bazan in the QT
30:1 Pearlman - long shot at best
40:1 LBH - I don't know these guys but the competition is tough to get out of the QT
50:1 Bartlett - sorry guys I just don't see it happening

    ReplyDelete
  50. ODDS for DCC

    Lifetime even
    HP 2-1

    Garland 3 -1
    TBar 5-1
    Springpark 8-1

    Everyone Else. No chance!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Which 4.0 teams outside of Dallas do you guys see as the best this year?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Eddie,
What makes you think that your team is better than HP?

    ReplyDelete
  53. My guess is the Dallas teams at sectionals will instantly be considered top there. San Antonio and Fort Worth will be decent and I'm sure Houston will be competitive.

Dallas will be the favorite. Our league is much bigger and much more competitive than any other cities in Texas. This gives us a great advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  54. ive gotta agree with mr bullshit on this one. here are the 4.0 texas champs over the last 5 years
    2008 lubbock
    2007 houston
    2006 waco
    2005 san antonio
    2004 amarillo

dallas has not done shit in the last 5 years

    ReplyDelete
  55. Houston will have the most talent. 2 Dallas teams will be 2nd and 3rd.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Fort Worth looks sneaky good. I know there's not much competition over there, but that team has some talent they have been keeping under wraps.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Houston is tough this year with most likely Sienna and Freeman coming to Dallas. Waco also has Bill Sanders returning with some of his former studs. NETX has some strong players that took out some guys I know are borderline 4.5ers.

As far as Dallas I think whichever two teams make it they will be in the mix. I of course love my team and would love to win the QT, etc but I know all the teams in the QT will be talented enough to win it so I would not say we are the best and the rest are chopped liver. I am curious to see how LTF does v. OC, I might even come watch.

    Eddie:

Time and place for that one????

    ReplyDelete
  58. Lifetime vs Oak Creek. Saturday 6/27. At Oak Creek at 3pm.

    Eddie

    ReplyDelete
  59. Are you expecting a crowd at LT v OC? Does anyone care? I know Somabut really does not care.

  62. What time is Bartlet / Garland Match?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Spring Park wouldn't care about OC/LT match, except to root against Lifetime.

We just want to hear the post match interview with King Eddie. It should rival the self aggrandizement of the Williams sisters.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thanks for the info Eddie. Good luck in Tyler. I would love to come watch but I will be in the midst of a Beauty and the Beast birthday party, maybe I can tivo it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Gtc/Brookhaven Dubs play at 11:00am, singles at 1:30pm. I will txt Cary. It will be a good match win or lose. Wish everyone well.

    ReplyDelete
  66. # OF LEVEL 4.0 TEAMS
    DALLAS 40
    San Antonio 15
    Austin 14
    Fort Worth 12
    NETX 7

Here is a totally fair way to assign wild cards to Sectionals:

All cities send one team to Sectionals per ten teams competiting with a min of 1.

With 40 teams Dallas would send 4 teams to Sectionals.

    ReplyDelete
  67. What about Houston, NOHO, SETX, Lubbock, Amarillo, all the other areas?
Do you realize there is limited space at Sectionals. Giving out that many WC would make sectionals a week long event.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Can't have all the extra teams. Sectionals is a long tiring weekend, as is. This year needs to be our year. That is a pretty pathetic record of Dallas teams not winning sectionals.

    ReplyDelete
  69. wont be any dallas 4.0 or 4.5s at nationals again this year, not even close

    ReplyDelete
  70. Somabut team looks pretty good. I give them a strong shot at it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Look back at 2003 and you see a 2nd at NATIONALS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Betting on who wins the finals is like predicting a preseason football game. It doesn't matter so who cares. Doesn't look like a round robin so it comes down to how the flights line up. You want to know who the best team is - ask Bob who he hopes isn't in his flight.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Branch's team is 33-2 if you consider all the lines played this season. They're looking awfully strong this year, and not all their top players have been regularly playing in every match.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Kern and Davis have been getting some discussion in the 4.5 thread. When they were playing down at 4.0, did they receive as much animosity as Andre and others who have played out of level?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Andre is only taking a beating on the blog because he played for Lifetime. Your insulting Gene and Jason by comparing Andre to them. He would be lucky to take a couple of games off either of those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Have you seen Andre play or are you just spitting garbage out?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Gene would crush Andre I have seen both play.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree with the earlier comment. I think some of the venom, if you will, towards Andre is based on Lifetime hate by some anons.

They likely havent interacted or watched with Andre at all.

I've seen Andre (albeit doubles) and Gene play. Gene is a better player at the moment. More overall polish to his game so he would have an advantage. Andre may keep getting better as he knocks the rust off so we dont know his complete capability yet. He hits it like a ton of bricks and that power blows away most 4.0's especially the ones he has played to date. Gene has all the shots and has more tools to work the points and that would be the difference from what i've seen. I think it would be a good match to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Two of the big matches this weekend featured different Brookhaven teams. I assume they both won - and both clinched their flights. Two Brookhaven teams in the city will be much better than 2 HPt teams.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Both of the Brookhaven teams lost!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Keep taking this GTC team lightly and see what happens.

It appears Sisk team has locked down the #1 seed in the DCC.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Sisk will get respect if he wins city. All he has done so far is beat a bunch of really weak teams. He is in an easy division.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Sisk didn't beat the other teams. The players on his team did.

You're overrating the role of the captain. It's not like he functions as a coach and helps players to improve their games. He can of course make a difference in recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Garland once again proves it dominance! Garland will win DCC this year.

    ReplyDelete
  85. lol Garland actually getting a mention and props...lol its hard to beleive.

I loved the comment by anon at 2:46 "Two of the big matches this weekend featured different Brookhaven teams. I assume they both won - and both clinched their flights. Two Brookhaven teams in the city will be much better than 2 HPt team"

Lol thats a good one right there lmao.

    ReplyDelete
  86. believe - was 3.5 dominance, here comes 4.0 dominance

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'd much rather be a non-playing cpt w/a winning team, than a victorious cpt w/a losing team.

    ReplyDelete
  88. In 2009 Big John wins BOTH 3.5 and 4.0 DCC. I dont think any captain has done that before.

Garland 3.5 is a cinch. GTC 4.0 will have a tough battle but will prevail over Somabut's team. (Look for Somabut to screw up his line-up in a critical match.)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Anon,
Now you say GTC is in an easy division. I didn't read your pre-season prediction. Now it's over, who can't look at all flights and look like Einstein.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Why? Cause he plays like a damn 3.0? You could fall asleep playing him if it wasn't for his horrible line calls to wake you up.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Quach is tough to be because he makes such bad line calls. Ask anyone this prick cheats!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I actually think Garland was in the 2nd toughest flight - the DCC should be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Because of his sportsmanship. Tuan Quach likes to clap and cheer while watching his opponents make a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Yeah and TQ has been a cruitial part of all the Garland vicotires thus far right??? LOL. Like TQ is going to be the deciding factor in Garland's success or faliure in the playoffs??? MOFO please!!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. @ anon 9:06: Its better then laughing at your mistakes. LOL.

Easy solution to not wanting the supporters clapping at your mistakes is to not make any. Problem solved!!

    ReplyDelete
  96. That's a dumb response. don't make any mistakes... if it was only that easy.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Nobody said he was a critical part of Garland's team. They just said the guy irriates people. The only way he will impact their success or failure is if they were to actually stick that guy out there during a critical match - which would never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I don't see that the Hpt/Bazan match is in TLink yet. Can I assume that HPt has lost this one to the Village and Brkhaven still has a shot to get a team to the city? ....yeah - go ahead and laugh at me Anon 5:10.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yes, Gene would beat Andre.

    Andre's strokes aren't that great, Gene's are.

    I've played both.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'll rephrase:

    Gene would stomp Andre.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Sisk winning city championships at 2 different levels would be a big accomplishment. But it looks like Freeman might one-up him - winning 4.5 and 4.0 in Houston. You out there Jason?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Freeman and Benzon are working together on those teams. It's possible they could sweep 3 divisions counting 5.0.

    ReplyDelete
  103. SWAT won 5-0 without dropping a set. Score should be posted tomorrow. Clerical error

    ReplyDelete
  104. Those of you hating on me and predicting matches really need to get a grip.. dont hide behind the anonymous screenname and let everyone know who you are, regarding Gene, i dont know who he is but if he would like to play me, let him know im up for my ass getting whooped supposedly..

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yeap, I'm out here. I check this blog periodically hoping to find some Kern-bashing taking place.

Are far as winning Houston 4.0 and 4.5 this year - we are trying but the competition is tough in both. I hope at least one team advances to sectionals so I can have an excuse to make a trip to Dallas. Plus, I need some more USTA socks :)

    ReplyDelete
  106. Brandon Myers WINS back to back 4.0 singles Major Zones with win in Tyler this weekend. Congrats to him. Great prep for team playoffs with Lifetime getting 3 players in the final 8 in Tyler.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I would love to see a Andre / Gene match. I have to say, I would bet my beer money on Andre. I think he could beat him.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Lifetimer, ever since your man put on that pink shirt, he has never been the same.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hope you don't have much beer money and have a friend that will buy you a beer after the match. Andre may turn out to be a good 4.5, but he's not near Gene's level. Apples and Oranges. Ask Brouer and Robinson about challenging Gene.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Is this better. Definately better days for him.

    ReplyDelete
  111. There you go. I like the ode to him in his wimbledon white. He is still there in spirit now.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Bazan must of squeezed out a 3-2 win and doomed his chances at making the QT. This is why he is so slow to input it into the system. He input his 4.5 scores already, so it wasnt like he was not on the computer...

    ReplyDelete
  113. I hope we play lifetime in the playoffs. All the talk about these supposed beasts of Dallas 4.0 singles is entertaining and huge motivation. Almost as entertaining as the presumption that both Brookhaven teams won this last weekend. lol "presumption is the mother of all fu*k ups"

    ReplyDelete
  114. How did Brookhaven lose both matches? I thought they were one of the better teams out there? How does that affect playoff implications?

    ReplyDelete
  115. PLAYOFF NIGHTMARE SCENARIO!!!!

If Lifetime beats Oak Creek this Saturday and wins the QT the flights at DCC will be split like this.

    Flight 1

Seed #1 Garland, Seed #4 HP, Seed #5 Lifetime.

    Flight 2

Seed #2 TBar, Seed #3 Springpark, #6 LB Houston

Best 3 Teams in Dallas in the same Flight at DCC. They really need to change this format.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Why? Everyone earned those seeds. Had you not had your player DQ'd you would not be complaining because the seedings would have changed.

    ReplyDelete
  117. What about HP should they be the 4th seed??? come on.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I thought division winners were 1 - 4 seed, and QT winnner and fall winner were either 5 or 6 seed depending on record.

    ReplyDelete
  119. NO. Top 6 teams in order by record and Lines lost.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Eddie,

I don't know how you can say the top 3 teams would be in the same flight - TB,SP and LBH. I think HP would be one of the top teams. Maybe you meant oldest teams as TB and SP average age is about 55.

There is no fair way to divide 6 teams in to 3 team flights to determine 2 spots. But if they won't have a RR, you just have 2 win 2 matches. Favors the team that is top heavy rather than deep.

    ReplyDelete
  121. well played Jim!

  122. True Jim with RR. I think Lifetimer meant the 3 teams in his flight #1???? :-)

Anyway, lot's of Tennis still let before all that happens anyhow.

Jim please feel free to drop 3 lines this weekend so I can go to San Antonio MZ July 10-12th. Poor Brandon won't get a shot to 3-peat the MZ's.

  123. Wow! That is a pretty tough flight. Now here is where some serious captaining/jockeying for position can come into play.

The best scenario that could happen for flight A is if HP dumped 4 lines or more and Brookhaven took out LB Houston to win their flight. (which is a distinct possibility).

That would drop HP to the 6th seed. They would battle out against TBar M for a re-match (better prepared), and then SP where SPs only hope is having to win both lines of singles every time.

Almost guarantees them into sectionals like a walk in the park.

Otherwise, they face an unknown Sisk team who is notorious for having ringers out of level and LFT which has enough players that they could wear out HP for GTC or vice versa. As much talk as they talk, it seems that that Myers guy seems solid for singles, plus Hill, Mudsam, Y, Morrison and Kennedy, plus 2 unknown new players added. I could see a 3-2 win over HP not being a ridiculous thought - Especially if HP singles is already tired.

  124. Sorry but TBAR and HP cannot be in same DCC flight because they were in same Flight in Regular season. Does not matter what seeding is they will be split up.

  125. GTC has Defeo who was a "3.5" last season, but has gone undefeated and won most of his matches this season pretty easily, including a 6-1 2nd win over superman like he played with kyrptonite in his jock strap.

MacFarlane, a 4.5 bump down (whom seems to have adjusted to 4.0 singles ok).

We also don't know if Sisk has any ringers lurking around waiting for city and sectionals to bring them out - much like Flora playing doubles all season long until playoff time...

  127. Then flight A is totally screwed.

  128. I guess GTC is the new Lifetime. Do me a favor and shut up until you win something. Defeo going undefeated just shows how crappy their division is.

Hmmmm.. MacFarlane isint a "bump down"?. He made his own decission to play 4.0 after selfrating last season at 4.0. There was NO "bump down", infact i'd be looking for a bump up soon if anything. I would put my money on him VS "any" other singles players in Dallas 4.0 tennis.

Defeo i'd also put money on vs "almost" if not all other 4.0 Dallas singles players on offer from the other Dallas teams.

Steve Carnley would most likley also take 90%.

  131. I think going to Nationals last season is "winning something". Why don't you try to "win something" yourself cause unless you were on my team, you did not go to Nationals last season and I did.

  132. This is a 4.0 thread sir. Who cares what you did at 3.5.

  134. Anon,

That wasn't Defeo, he doesn't read this stuff. You may think Jerry has no game and hasn't beaten anyone, can he begin with you? Would you be the his first worthy victory? I doubt it!!! If you can't sign your name, you are spineless sir. There is one guy on his mixed team that said "Jerry sucks" and I'd like to see the singles match!!! Stick to the facts.... I can read this anon trash on the 3.5 thread.

  135. Defeo was only rated 3.5, never a 3.5 talent. He will have post season success as well.

  136. John don't respond to the anons. It only gets worse if you do. I look forward to seeing you in the playoffs. It should be fun.

  137. What happened to BDE String? I use to get the 15 gauge gut that lasted awhile, but I can't find it anywhere anymore. Did they go out of business? Any other inexpensive gut out there for a hybrid mix?

  139. I ordered some BDE gut string about a month or two ago from tennis warehouse. I like it as well. Hope they aren't out completely. If they are, you can try or read about technifibre biphase. It's not natural, but it does have a gut like feel and is $15. I used it a few times and just ordered some more.
