Fall MId-year Review

Or, Wake Me For The Playoffs

4.5 Review

Flight A – it’s a three horse race with Fair Oaks/Valentin and Greenhill Blue/Rossouw sitting at 5-0 and LB Houston/Moore one back at 4-1.  Greenhill put the one loss on LB Houston but the others haven’t played each other yet so much to be determined.  With only four matches left, it’s crunch time.  This weekend Fair Oaks and Greenhill play each other so that will bring a lot of clarity to this flight.  I’d look for Greenhill and Fair Oaks to advance.

Flight B – The toughest flight and by season end it will show.  We already have three contenders with one loss.  JCC/Reiman sits alone at 4-0.  They haven’t reported scores from their match this weekend with Greenhill/Alzuro but I’m willing to pencil in a win for JCC.  At one loss each you still have three teams: Brookhaven/Harllee, TBar/McColpin and Lakes/Way.  None of them play each other next week so it looks like a frenetic finish.  I’d go with JCC and Brookhaven.

Flight C – there are four contenders left here as well: Gleneagles/Juhn and Greenhill Red/Rossouw are both undefeated and Oak Creek/Probadi and SpringPark/Sweeney each have one loss.  The big matchup is Gleneagles and Greenhill this weekend.  Oak Creek and SpringPark also play this weekend in an elimination match.  We’ll know a lot more about this flight on Monday.  Have to go with Greenhill and Gleneagles here.

 4.0 Review

Flight A – McKinney/Kanchi looks to be in the driver’s seat here at 4-0.  Eagles Landing/Berman and Oak Creek/Rich are both tied in the one loss column.  McKinney has already beaten Oak Creek and they play Eagles Landing this weekend so this flight could be wrapped up soon.  I’ll go with McKinney and Oak Creek.

Flight B – what to say, four teams are tied with one loss and none look very strong.  Hackberry/Myers, Lakes/Reifsnyder, Brookhaven/Bartlett and McKinney/Oh are all muddling their way through flight play.  A lack of roster depth makes this anyone’s race.  I think Brookhaven and Lakes in this flight.

Flight C – Garland1/Sisk and Las Colinas/Otey are tied atop this flight with one loss each.  Four more teams sit tied in the two loss column.  Garland should advance to the playoffs but you can flip a coin for the second spot.

Flight D – Greenhill/Eckenrode and Huffines/Robins are tied at one loss with three teams sitting in the two loss column.  Greenhill should advance and if Huffines gets past Oak Creek/Iyer this weekend they should head to the playoffs as well.

  1. In 4.0, I've only heard of like 2.

  5. I am not sure what they can do about obvious tanking, but Tony Le is rubbing it in the face of the USTA by winning at sectionals and nationals and then losing his fall matches by a large margin.

  6. I'm taking note but I hear Le now have groin injury, now called Tiny. If this keep up I take trophy away. Bad sportsmanship not proper for DTA and USTA. We take care.

  7. Tony will cheat and tank in order to win and stay at 4.0 when it counts. Sadly, he just ruins the whole rating system and continues to make a mockery of the DTA and USTA. All the D'Qs and illegal self rates and even playing players who weren't the actual players will catch up to him for sure.

    1. Dont be mad at Tony. What he does and get away with is not illegal if the dta and usta dont care. I for one play for Tony and he is the best captain out there. people are just mad who werent invited to play on our team. GO LE! Btw, looks like Sam "HUH?"n trying to make his way to 3.5, losing 4.0 matches. Funny stuff.

    2. DTA only care about Kelly. Tony there friend.

    3. Tony is no threat to many right now. He may begin to win as a 4.0 but one not quite enuff yet. kelley has been dominating for years and years and the DTA, canyon weak, queenhill and hookhaven wanted everyone to win so they kicked kelley out 2 years out. I for one think Tony should continue to screw the USTA and keep tanking. I love to see other 4.0 teams bitch and complain. Tony is the master debater when it cums to protecting his players. Tony!Tony! Tony!

  8. Only one remaining undefeated 4.0 team. That's laughable. While the undefeated team and one loss teams battle it out in fall, the real contenders are lurking in the shadows waiting for Spring.

  9. Waiting for the playoffs? Fall playoffs are just a chance to tease the 'others' about what the playoffs are like.

  10. In 4.5 groupC match of week, I think Gleneagles wins 3-2 with Collins getting a singles win and then 2 doubles points.

  11. Hey 10:59 or by your name S. Bennett, we get it you "played" for Tony's team and you love Tony because he cheated his way to get you a trophy to go with your pom poms. Congratulations, why do you think you have to keep rubbing it in our faces?

    1. he didnt cheat. If he did he would have had more guys dq'd. USTA didn't think the others were out of line. Tony had the best 4.0 players in dallas on his team but not one of those would dominate at 4.5. As I said, if you werent asked to be on his team you werent good enough. Period. End of story.

  12. GOTTA LOVE IT!!!! Finally a mixed nationals with Kelley having to sit at home and wonder what might have been!!! Way to go DTA, TTA and USTA! Serves the bitch right!!

    1. Kelly's on the 40's ft worth team going to nationals and he's only been twice in 8 years. It's not his fault all the other mixed teams in Dallas suck. If you don't believe that, look at the crappy team that represented Dallas this year. They pulled a big 0 match winning streak.

    2. Actually hes been eligible 6 times in 8 years. 07, 2010, twice in 2013 (skipped Hawaii) and twice in 2015 (barred from competing w Dallas). So I love it that he is not going w the best team in Dallas. He is wasting his time w FT WORTH!!! Gotta love it!. when your record is something like 100-3 you should get kicked out!

    3. actually he 87-4 last 8 years. pretty damn good.

    4. If you count trilevel and mens 4.5 the bitch has been able to play nationals 9 times in 8 years. Get ya sum of that! Averaging more than one national event a year????? Should be kicked out of league tennis 5 years instead of two. way to go DTA!

    5. Bloggers,

Good morning and thanks to all the league players and captains who got this suspension done. And yes, we do read this block for key and factual information. We did our best to kick him out 5 years but the best we could do was one. If he comes back and starts winning again we will do the same thing next year. We start every meeting out with him as the main issue and are on top of every move he makes. Tony Le is on our radar as well. Hope you guys have a great weekend and "See Ya on the Courts"!.

    6. @9:08. Pretty sad that he is your main topic of discussion. You are clearly a biased and should be banned from making decisions for the DTA. I expect the DTA to be doing more with my money than figuring out how to eliminate someone they dislike from the league. Thanks for wasting my money. What an absolutely worthless organization. Unbelievable.

  13. how about 3.5 mens review?

    ReplyDelete
  14. ok. Bender dominating and Sam Hyung trying to get to 3.5. Will be a close finish as Alzuro and Clark fighting for the last playoff spot.

    ReplyDelete
  15. speaking of tanking, nice job last week to keith clark, cant even win at 3.5 and you are not fooling anyone by playing yourself with kaiser in order to look like it wasnt a bad loss.

    ReplyDelete
  16. First, Keith is coming off back surgery. I'm sure he sucks. Second, instead of kicking people out of the league, maybe they should fix the problem. FALL LEAGUE SHOULDNT COUNT AND ALL MIXED SHOULD COUNT THE SAME AS MENS. This would solve so many issues. And don't use bullish!t to kick people out. If the dta is going to kick Mike out for lack of effort in a 3-1 win, kick out all the obvious tankers in the fall. BE CONSISTANT. Something Tony's team obliviously forgot how to do this fall.

    ReplyDelete
  17. yes, keith is injured and will appeal to 3.0. Also Tony le may stay 4.0. He has been beaten by two 3.5 bump ups and a really bad 4.0 whose only win was Tony. DTA just sits back and looks the other way.

    ReplyDelete
  18. They wouldn't if Tony played at Springpark. The "big club" dta can't stand the smaller clubs kicking their ass every year.

    ReplyDelete
  19. absolutely spot on assessment. Tony hasnt won enuff yet. If his teams continue to win 4-5 years consistently he too will get the boot. They got Kelley and co. bec he has just flat out dominated the metroplex for years and the insiders and club members of certain clubs put together a completely corrupt way to rid him of USTA. Total inside job and very scary they have that much power.

  20. 5:17 exactly right. If kelly played for CC or BH or Tbar he would still be playing.
