And Nationals Continue - The Houston Version

The #1 singles guy for Caribbean warming up for his 3.5 match.

Well, it’s a Freeman weekend.  Having 3.5 and 4.5 at nationals the same weekend puts him in a quandary.  Not only does he captain both teams but he also plays on the 3.5 team.  Here’s betting he spends his weekend at Indian Wells with the 3.5 team but since Rancho Mirage is right next door, he may just be shuttling back and forth.
At the sectionals post I picked the 3.5 team to win it all and nothing about that has changed.  In flight 5 they will have to navigate through Northern, Caribbean and New England.  If years past is any indicator, the Texas/Caribbean flight play match will likely be for the national title.  The good news is if Texas wins its flight they draw probably the weakest flight for the semi-final match versus one of Intermountain, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Florida.
The 4.5 team is playing right next door and drew the five team flight with Missouri Valley, Mid-Atlantic, Florida and Eastern.  It’s always a tough road to travel when you have to win that extra match and stretch your guys before the semis.  There just isn’t any down time.  If they can make it through they would see the winner of Flight 7 in the semis consisting of Midwest, Intermountain, Middle States and Northern California.
I called Freeman's office for a quote but evidently he left for the desert several weeks ago to start acclimating to the climate.  I wonder how far ahead he had to let USTA New York know that he was winning both 3.5 and 4.5 this year so he could get them scheduled for nationals at the same location?

Good luck to our friends from the swamp lands.

  1. Why the Freeman talk? This is a Dallas blog.

  2. These are the nationals events this weekend. Better than more bitching about the fall. I've been checking this thing for the last three years and every fall its the same. "
Thanks for not making us read all the whining again this year.

  3. Is there anything people won't complain about? It's the fall and anyone that is any good isn't trying. If you wonder if you are any good, ask yourself if you are trying.

  4. Just read this, on last thread which sums it up well.

So if someone in sports takes steroids to succeed, then I guess everyone should in order to compete, because that's what it takes to get it done. Idiot.

  5. Le got it done. Many close matches throughout, so many are doing the same thing, but Le was better at it this year than anyone else in the country!

    1. Le isn't getting it done this fall.

  6. So can the team Le put together compete at 4.5 in 2016? Or will they call it an off year and tank down like Le is doing right now.

  7. Le is a pussy. Can't win at 4.5 at the higher levels so why try. Just keep tanking.

    1. From what I see, he is losing at 4.0 this fall.

    2. Becausee he is tankin at 4.0 dumbass.

    3. 4.0 for life dumbass!!!! Why work hard during the season, when he only have to play hard 2 weekends, at Sectional and Nationals.

    4. Hahahaha!!! Tony has all of you by the balls.

    5. Tony will be bumped to 4.5 when new ratings come out for 2016, you can not go 4-0 at nationals (pussy retired in one match) and not get bumped. He can tank all he wants but he will be a 4.5. To bad TTA and DTA won't do anything about his obvious tanking.

  8. That's a funny comment. He won nationals at 4.0 big damn deal, and had to cheat his ass off to do it. He has everyone by the balls to compensate for his lack of them.

  9. Really Le? You played Newman at nationals but not Bennett who was there also? Who else went out to nationals as a spectator/cheerleader?

  11. The biggest cheat but DQed Aguilar was there, and although not on the team, another of the CAC (Cheating Asian Clan) who hasn't won a game in quite a long while in order to get down to 4.0 for the next run at nationals with Somabut, is none other than Sam Huyhn, was there pom poms in hand. Any others?

  12. I sense a lot of jealousy on this blog. Why don't yall go have a beer, get a hooker, watch some playoff baseball. Maybe not in that order.

But seriously shake the sand out and lighten up people.

  13. Texas teams have started well. See the 3.5 Men preview I did at http://computerratings.blogspot.com/2015/09/2015-usta-league-nationals-18-over-35.html

    1. Dallas doesn't have a team at nationals this weekend. You need to be posting on the Houston blog, they have two.

    2. Ummm, this blog entry that I commented on include "Houston" in the title. Seemed appropriate to post here given that!

    3. Kevin, you are welcome here. Our anon posters can be a little cranky but most are fine. This is a Texas thread so it is absolutely relevant. Texas has some very strong teams this year and so far they have shown that.

    4. No worries. Texas is certainly interesting to follow from afar. I can only imagine what it is like being there :)

  14. Yea kevin if we dallas teams were more civil to each other we just might do better in 4.5 and 5.0, but that aint gonna happen with all the egomaniacs here

  15. Texas 4.5s into the semis. 3.5s play against Carribean to also get in the semis.

  16. Houston squeaks by Caribbean 3-2. Semis tomorrow for both Texas teams.

  17. Texas looks like the narrow favorite for the 3.5 Men. Either California team they face is nipping at their heels. http://computerratings.blogspot.com/2015/10/2015-usta-league-nationals-18-over-35_10.html

  20. Strong year for TX.

  21. And tx would have won 1 possible 2 8.0 mixed titles, if canyon creek and Brookhaven didnt run the dta. They have a good shot at 7.0 40's from Springpark and from what I saw from San Antonio, 18's 7.0 has a great chance.

  24. Can't believe Freeman played himself in the final and took an Ass whooping at 1-3. He knows he is not in the top 8. His line 2 singles almost loses in a breaker. Had respect for Freeman, but lose it seeing that egotistical move. He is lucky he got the win. I know see why it took him 10 trips to finally get a win.

    Enjoy you your trophy loser.

  25. Nice match Tony. Guess you can only play in playoffs. Lose 6-2, 6-1 to Ryan Rosemore. Really?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow Tony still tanking hoping to stay at 4.0, , give it up you went 4-0 at Nationals, you're getting bumped, when will DTA and TTA suspend this clown for obvious tanking.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Freeman is gunning for a 3.0 rating now. WHy not - he cheated his way to his first National title. We know there's no level low enough for him and Tran to stoop too. Bunch of cheaters.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is that picture seriously the Carribean's #1 singles player who Houston beat??? Unbelievable. I'm embarrassed to be a Texan. Freeman and Tran - way to go guys. You're a disgrace.

  29. Can a player who plays Tony Le in fall league file a grievance against him? He's blatantly tanking and this needs to stop. His antics are so bad that he needs to be banned from the league.

  30. Yes, to quote The Rule Book. Article V: 'Eat Shit'

  31. Kelly was suspended for lack of effort in a 3-1 win. File a grievance and get him kicked out.
