Week 5 and Tri-Level Wrap Up

It loos like Dallas Tri-Level lost a close match to Houston.  Houston went on to win it all.  Best of luck to them at Indian Wells.

Week 5 is in the books and most have reported scores.  Weather was great yesterday and all should have played.

4.5

In Flight A, Springpark has a 2 match lead over T-Bar and LB Houston.  T-Bar is not out of it as there is only a 2 line difference.  Regardless, I am going with my initial prediction and Springpark takes the flight.  Springpark can eliminate T-Bar in a couple of weeks but if T-Bar can pull an upset it could get interesting.

In Flight B, Brookhaven Harlee is in the driver's seat.  They have not reported their JCC so until it is reported, it isn't official.  Lakes is still sitting out there with one loss but they haven't played 2 matches.  I still stick with my original prediction of Brookhaven to take this flight without too much worry.

4.0

In Flight A, Fretz and Greenhill are headed to a showdown in two weeks.  There is nothing to report until they actually play.  At this point, I am sticking with Fretz.

In Flight B, there is more competition.  Greenhill is the only undefeated but Springpark and Canyon Creek are sitting with one loss.  Canyon Creek plays Greenhill this week and a win makes it all interesting.

Good luck to all, weather looks to be pretty good so hopefully everyone gets back on track.

  4. Why do you even allow comments? This blog would be a lot better if the bloggers would just post weekly threads, everyone could read them, and no one would ever have to listen to all the bitching, moaning, name calling BS.

  5. Today is a great day! Kelly not winning tri level is AWESOME!!!!

  6. It may be an awesome day but Kelley dominated in his matches and dropped 3 games all weekend. Nobody better when something on the line. Keep up the hate mail.

    1. Kelley drew their weakest team I bet.

    2. 4.5 lines were undefeated so that didn't matter. Blame it on the 3.5 or 4.0 line that lost. It happens, get over it.

  7. So what, team lost and he just another loser going home!

  8. To 3:48: obviously the hatred runs deep. Anyway, i am not a fan either buy looking at his results for the last 3 years of Trilevel he has not dropped one match at any cities, sectionals or nationals event. say what you want (and everyone will), that is ABSOLUTELY mind boggling. I dont care what level you play at that is damn near impossible. he may be a bad teammate but he is big time clutch.

  9. to 6:40

And that got him where???? Who cares?! he is sitting at home for nationals! Just like 10 other teams. There is only one first place!

  10. What is the playoff format for 4.0 40 & Over? Hopefully more than a 4 team round robin.

    1. Why? Are you in third place?

    2. Top two teams from each flight make the playoffs. Better hurry up and beat someone. There's only four weeks left.

    3. If you can't finish in the top two do you really deserve a chance?

    4. Fifth actually, but with twenty teams and a stated desire to involve more teams in the playoffs, it should be more than 4 team out of 20.

  11. I'm on a team that is in 3rd place with three teams in front of us. 2 teams tied for second and 1 team alone in first. I'll be crossing fingers and wearing my lucky Rafa shirt before this weekends match.

    1. If there are 3 teams in front of you, you are in *4th* place. Logic literally couldn't be simpler.

  12. Big John - help me understand your 3.5 & 4.0 line-ups against Houston?

Looks like you should have used the lines you did against SETX.

    McCullough/Bailey is a better line than Owen/Zachary or Clark/Zachary?

    Le/Razvi better than Nguyen/Fenter or Nguyen/Jeung ??

    Really??

I must really be out of the loop on players these days.

    1. Who is Le and Razvi? Tony Le is now down to 3.5?

    2. It's not that simple. Who was available, who was healthy, who had been playing this winter. All of the guys on Sisk's team were pretty good so there isn't an obvious choice. You need to find the right matchups. SETX was not very good so I doubt those results would have been very helpful.

    3. Fenter played and Adams is better. What are you suppose to do?

  13. I don't know some of the players and the rest I haven't actually seen play in months but let me share my opinion. Or maybe not.

  14. Physically, Fenter and Adams are much taller than Le and Razvi and they should have the reach and the much better serves. However, on the first set Fenter and Adams were struggle against Le and Razvi serves and their styles. Razvi serves are unorthodox and much like a lefty serve and Le is a lefty so there you go.

The first set was horrible, Adam and Fenter lost the set within 20 minutes. They played much better on second set but still wouldn't be able to break Le and Razvi serves. At 6-5, Le turn to serve and they have no chance to win.

I watched the match and I'm not so sure I can play any better than my team mate. The Houston team much be a bunch of sand bagging.

  15. If you have Kelly you start up 1-0. Def should be able to get another line you would think. Was the 4.0 match close?

    2. GH/Ohl
    3. GH/Kayser
    4. SP/Walters
    5. McKinney/Peterson
    6. CC/Patterson (lost to El Dorado)
Fretz and GH/Ohl will win flights
winner of the GH/Kayser vs. McKinney/Peterson match and the SP/Walters vs. CC/Patterson match will make it in.

  20. No sure what the playoff format is for Men's 3.5 with 6 teams, does anyone know? But Greenhill is on pace to be 6-0 this weekend with Mckinneyjones and Gable fighting for 2nd place honors and they both lost to Greenhill once this season. Looks like Rene might have a team to get to the big dance.
As far as mens 4.0 40's, I see Clark and OHL winning and battling for dallas 1st place honors to challenge houston.
and with loaded 3.0 division, Bender should be in the hunt again.

    1. No 3.5 city playoff. We all petitioned the DTA to let the flight play winner go straight to sectionals so we wouldn't have to read about 3.5 any more. At 4.0, GH is in the hunt for sectionals but is it Ohl or Kayser. Lazy year everyone overlooked the old guys and they took a sectionals birth.

  21. Do we really have to read about 3.5. We know someone likes to toot their own horn.

They are only there because Bender, Clark, and Sisk elected not to bother with a 40s team.

Rene's team will obviously make the Sectional "dance", but as for Nats..........that is suspect.

  22. It is Alzuro who keeps posting this crap. No one cares about your 3.5 team Rene!

  24. I play 3.5 for a canyon creek and i like reading about 3.5 so some of us care to know, we might have a shot at second place.

    1. There is no city playoff and only the first place team will go to sectionals so everyone that isn't in first place might as well get a second place ribbon
