ratings estimate

changing the subject..... kindof

mid-year ratings will be posted in July.  Typically before play-offs.

I believe that they will not include tournaments or mixed or tri-level but will include fall league play-offs, 40s league and spring league matches

Last year I found this link:

http://computerratings.blogspot.com/2012/11/estimated-dynamic-ntrp-reports.html

Kevin Schmidt can be contacted at:
computerratings@techrunning.com

He accepts paypal and the report costs $20 ($30 to include sectionals)

It is not official USTA but a simulation based on his tools and assessments.  I found it quite interesting

I would encourage those of you that are interested to send some business Kevin's way.

  1. 4.0 projections
Flight A - Sisk beats Eldorado this weekend. Winner to cities, loser to QT
Flight B - The most interesting flight. Oak Creek squeaks by on lines. They have a slight lead and the lightest remaining schedule. TBar to QT with sweep of Bent Tree. Wild card is BH/Bartlett. BH still to play TBar and Springpark.
Flight C - Fair Oaks 3-2 over Oak Creek for the cities bid. HP/Le becomes the favorite in QT.
Flight D - Dawson to cities with a commanding two match lead with two to play. Gleneagles to QT if they get their lineups right.
Flight E - Bazan to cities. Greenhill edges Huffines for QT.
The final three QT spots go to LBH/Parsons, Huffines/Prather and Springpark/Walters.

    1. Looks like the number 1 seed is between CC/Dawson and Bazan. So much for the HP and GTC self annointed champs. I guess they are the pre-season champs depending on which poll you follow.

    2. So we play to see who gets the #1 seed for cities? Some of you are so clueless. Have fun with your #1 seed, but it means nothing. When has Canyon Creek, Oak Creek, or any of these other teams made it to sectionals at 4.0??

We heard this same crap from Canyon Creek during the 40 and over season. What happened? Canyon Creek didn't even make the final.

    3. Why can't Dawson or Bazan take a team to sectionals? Two years ago Arcaria did it. Last year was Sisk's first trip to 4.0 sectionals. With Somabut on the bench for now someone new will make it this year.

    4. I'll believe it when I see it. If Le and Sisk are on opposite sides of bracket, I would bet they meet for the finals.

      Delete
    5. It would be funny if 3 of them are on the same side. Le/Sisk/Bazan.... Then CC reigns supreme.

    6. Should be interesting. Not so enamored with the Sisk team this year. Solid, but not world-beaters.

    7. how about Sisk and Le in QT? Heard El Dorado won the line 1 doubles already.

  2. Why don't so many captains post scores until the mid week. Fair Oaks/Monkee Spank still has not posted and neither has DFW Huffman/McKinney Blabb. We want to know who is going to be the 5.0 virgin sacrifice.

This has been happening a lot at all levels. I decided to look and see Fair Oaks/Noel can't get it entered at 4.5 either. I am pretty sure they have internet in Dallas. Do you need to go to the local library?

Why can't teams play at the designated time if there is no weather? It is part of the game of needing to be able to get your top 8 when you need them. When you get to schedule the matches so you can get the right matchups is not suppose to be a luxury.

    1. We are in the playoffs!!! McKinney still has one match to play but it's already decided. I'm so excited for my team to make it's playoff debut at 5.0.

  3. agreed w previous poster, why was the match postponed? Does Corey's 5.0 team need a sweep to get to playoffs? Who played singles for Corey's team bec it will most likely come down to that. However, if Kelley reads the blog and saw Russo comments on Corey team being a show in Corey 5.0 team may be in trouble!!! are they playing it this week???

    ReplyDelete
  4. Monkee team must have got swept or they would have posted??!!!! Congrats to Corey for third place and playoff bound!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Personally I think the playoff format sucks. Two flights of three teams? Four teams will only get two matches. Playoffs is the best thing about league tennis and you don't even get very many matches.

    1. I would love to have a round robin. It is about playing tennis and this gets the most tennis.

      Delete
    2. I thought they said after that fall single elimination that spring would always be round robin?

      Delete
  6. I think that issuing rankings just prior to the playoffs is a great motivational tool, especially for someone who thinks that they're better than a player ranked higher and they have the opportunity to prove it! Love DLT, keep it up!!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Ate you kidding, most if us want to prove how bad we are and then get some upsets at playoffs. Haven't you noticed how much some players are in the spring than fall or in playoffs than regular season?

      Delete
  7. Of course the Monkee team lost they are trying to lose, dont you get it? Who cares if the scores are posted it will be a 3-0 win by whoever is playing the cheating dogs on Monkee!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Why no scores yet?.... Who is the third place 5.0 team?

  9. Does anyone else think Kelley would win his match bec of the abuse he is taking from russow and Corey ?... Hard to believe but if he wins a match Corey's team is out. I posted last week it is possible. They should have destroyed him on the blog after the match was played.... Can't wait to see what happens in that match.!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Agreed, why get Kelley stirred up.... Doesn't make sense. Lay low and go to playoffs for sure. Now you are putting it in the hands of a guy capable of winning the match on his own. Corey may not be a big Russow fan after this match.

    1. Luckily Kelly won and we advanced. Brent James was our team MVP this week!!

    2. You guys beat Kelly or he beat your team?

    3. Kelly won his line but they lost the other two

  11. Agree w 4:59 post, they will get pummeled !

  12. Cavaliers.... get the first pick in the NBA draft, MAVS 13th.

  13. Puttkammer self rate on 5/1, default winner on 4/27, wtf???

    ReplyDelete
  14. Why would Kelley help DFW team out w a win?.. None of those guys like him.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Any idea how the playoff seeding will be set?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The teams with the best records are seeded higher.

      Delete
  16. Whatever you think the correct way to seed the playoffs is...I'm sure it will be opposite of that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kevin puttkammer 4.0 self rate from California for team sisk. I am sure it is on the up and up nothing shady happens in garland.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oops meant christoper

  19. A self rate signs up today plays 5/25 vs el dorado and score goes under 5/11,,,,,,shady????lol....ok

    1. In Dallas we have Sisk and Le. Both are huge cheaters but neither ever win. They are the worst cheaters. If you are going to cheat at least have something to show for it.

Kelly has lots of hardware. Sisk and Le are just cheats. Pak and Puttkammer are both cheats just like their Captain.

      Delete
    2. Sisk won 5-0 in that match, flipping the match changes nothing. This is pretty low on the cheating scale. If it was 3-2, it might matter.

      Delete
    3. Kelley won so many matches at sectionals and nationals I would think the city league boring. Se and Lisk on the other hand have won nothing, not sure you can call them cheats. Let them have there self rates, let's see if it helps.... I say it wont

      Delete
  20. Maybe he thought you play first and then sign up?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Le may have only lost 6 lines so far but 4 were in singles. Time to bench the mascots and find the players.

    ReplyDelete
  22. puffhammer was a 4.5 out of Sacramento

    ReplyDelete

    1. H&R Puff-n-Stuff... Wasn't that done kind of psychedelic show by Sid & Marty Croft? Maybe Sisk could also self rate some sleestaks.

      Delete
    2. Puttkammer was the equivalent of a super champ in Southern California. It will be glorious to protest him when he gets to Sectionals. We'll let him beat up on Dallas first.

  24. He actually has another rating also in Florida w same birth date . I am sure it is his twin...... Lol!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Come on Sisk and Le, let us hear from you! Are you cheating your asses off or is this just some major screw up by the usta... Speak up and defend yourselves, your silence will be assumed as guilt.

    1. Sisk maybe but Tony Le is clean. That is just Sisk's guys trying to deflect. Tony hasn't done anything. Matt self rated with someone else and Tony didn't even know.

      Delete
  26. Freeman might disagree that Tony is clean after the unsuccessful cheating at tri-level. But as far as tennis goes you have a point. Tony has done nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. What happened at Tri level?....

    ReplyDelete
  28. Freeman is one to talk!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not sure you can use the word "clean" on either Sisk or Le. Both of them would do anything within there power, legal or not to try and win a tennis match.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The whole point with Sisk was, he hides the self rates by playing them in one match at line 3 dubs, then plugs them in on a defaulted line where possible for their 2nd match......i.e. This new CA kid Christopher Puttkammer who didn't join the Sisk team until May and yet John retroactively gave him a defaulted line singles winin the 04/27 Village match even though he wasn't regstered for the team at the time. I reported it to USTA, not that it counts for much since Sisk just swapped Puttkammer for his other new self rate Randy Michael Baker, but at least DTA will make the rule explicit so that captains can't keep these guys off the rosters and out of regular season matches for so much of the season.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Even if that is the case if the guy comes in and blows people out in singles during the playoffs he would still be a DQ risk.

      Delete
    2. Don't really know what to say about the timing question but the rules do say that to qualify for the playoffs you only need two matches. One actually played and one defaulted line is ok to play in the playoffs. To qualify for nationals you must have three matches actually played. None of it will matter come sectionals.

      Delete
    3. Sisk now looking to have the upper hand, two self rates and a possible third added is the rumor. What's next?... Adding Kelly to the roster so he can make his 5th trip to nationals and win another title?

      Delete
    4. Holy shit! Sisk is looking to have the upper hand? Now that's news.

      Delete
    5. Good, and did you also report the Matt Pak two USTA ratings too? If the USTA and DTA are going to police the league, we must!

      Delete
  31. It would take Kelley to win it bec w out him they will fail again !

    ReplyDelete
  32. So what?... Le supposedly has found a 5.0 that can rate a 4.0...... He played in Hawaii and moved here under another alias.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why would he need to do that? I heard he was able to get the entire SMU team to self rate at 4.0.

      Delete
    2. Le has SMU and Sisk has TCU.

      Delete
  33. They aren't worth self rating, kelley has taken a set from Ricardo Gomez bec he hits w them sometimes at Seay tennis center .... Sisk needs to set his sights higher

    1. who cares? Can't you just look it up on tennislink?

    2. I tried, someone had posted he had never one anything.... Was just curious how he did w trilevel and combo last year?

      Delete
    3. Combo? That's about as irrelevant as winning the fall.

      Delete
  35. Until you win it, then it is huge and btw Sisk did win

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's so sweet. Combo is huge to you huh? I guess it would be a big deal if you've never won anything that matters.

      Delete
    2. Have win a 3.5 national event!.... You?

      Delete
    3. Doubt that or you wouldn't have such a stiffie for combo

  36. If u r a Kelley hater this will get ur blood boiling, small article in Tennis monthly on him being at national 5 times and winning two titles, his team
In finals of two others he did not attend. Most by any 4.5 or 5.0 in southern and ties for most overall. Begin the bashing!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nice try but not true. We're not even in the Southern section. I'm guessing Kelley posted this in his attempt to continue getting his much needed attention. Pretty sure Kelley posts most of the time to get the ball rolling. He loves it, even though I'm sure he claims he's never posted.

  37. Who cares!!! Local leagues tougher than sectional or nationals bec of the toughest players here in Texas! Watered down competition everywhere else

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I want some of what you are smoking. Spoken like a guy who's never been to sectionals or nationals. There's a reason why no one wins any nationals titles out of Dallas at 4.0 or 4.5 and it's not because Dallas local leagues are tougher than sectionals. This year is the weakest Dallas 4.0 league in the last five years.

      Delete
  38. I bet a 4.0 team from Dallas gets to nationals, that Le team is stacked deep,,,, just sayin

    ReplyDelete
  39. Just wait, it will be Sisk or Le going to nationals

    ReplyDelete
  40. Le may make nationals, but if he does it will be because 8 players and not because he has a deep team.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It will be tough to beat Baazin

    ReplyDelete

    1. Bazaan's team is not great. They are easily in the worst flight in 4.0.

  43. Can someone post a link to the article about the great Mike Kelly? Sounds like some interesting reading.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The funny thing is Mike has a really good chance at 2 more trips to nationals at 8.0 mixed. His 40 and over is pretty good and his 18 and over team is damn good. His 4.5 40 and over has an ok shot. He's still an a-hole. Actually, if you know Mike personally, he's a really nice guy. I've said it before. If he's on your team, you really like him. If he's not on your team, you want to punch him in the face.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It is in the April or may issue of tennis monthly

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't know him and I want to punch him... Lol

  47. Looks like Sisk lost 3-2 in 4.0.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow!... Upset alert!

    ReplyDelete
  49. it's not really an upset. it is no secret that sisk does not have the goods this year. he is in the process of rebuilding for a run next year. heard he bought a southwest frequent flyer membership for all the kids, from across the country, that he will sign up for the fall & get their computer rating. it just didn't work out this year due to a failure to communicate properly. watch out for them next year.
