New Year End Ratings are Out

The Year End Ratings are out.  From an initial look,it appears there has been a pretty good effort to move people up.  It doesn't look quite like 2009 but it does appear to have a general move in that direction.  Actually, 4.5 may have as many teams as 4.0 next year.  The lower levels have been decimated.  5.0 may eventually go to 5 lines at this rate.

Looks like he that shall not be named, remains at 4.5.  CoreDawg5.0 gets to change his e-mail to CoreDawg4.5.  Kiron is back to 5.0 along with Rossouw and Brandon Myers making their 5.0 debut.  Looks like AlanA is a 4.0.  That should help his mixed results... as if it needs any help.    Clint Sumrow is back to 4.5.  4.5 should be the most fun level to watch again.

I have to feel for those 40s captains.  Today is the first day you find out who is available and I bet more than a few are at levels they didn't expect.  The DTA has to go back to mid-season ratings on that league.  This is asking too much for someone to field a team in a little over a week.  I know the DTA reads this blog so please explain this; there is no rational rationale.

Get those appeals fingers ready.

  1. I would rather spend my time between the two 3.5 players.

    1. No shit. I would play mixed if I could get one of those 3.5 girls as my partner.

    2. I'd play 9.0 with them. Don't care if we lose.

    3. No worries there, you would lose playing 9.0 with a 3.5, unless you're Kelly... Then you win

  2. The DTA doesn't give a shit if it is difficult for the captains.

  3. Yes go to 5 lines for 5.0+ and also up the number of 5.0's on 40+ teams to 4, but only 2 can play at any time

  4. 3.5 players are usually much bigger than those girls.

  5. After a quick perusal of the year end list. My congrats go out to the best at managing the scores to either get bumped down or maintain the below level status that has been attained. Here is my list, feel free to add or delete from it with your own opinions.

    Abbrussese 4.0, Alarid 4.0, Arcaria 4.0, Bender 3.0, Boccara 4.0, Keith Clark 4.0, DelaPaz 4.0, Diaz-Marta 4.0, Kelly 4.5, Kienzlen 3.0, Tony Le 4.0, Shyh-Chin Lee 4.0, Mbede 4.0, T. Newman 4.0, Hai Nguyen 4.0, Oberg 4.5, Palacoiz 4.0, Radar 3.5, Rosini 3.0,Somabut 4.0, Paul To 4.0, Jesse Vo 4.0, and the "appeals" down award to Greg Wiley 3.5, and Jean Nguyen 4.5.

I am pretty sure that I spot a trend here, look for teams forming at 4.0 that include most of the above 4.0s and the same at 3.0 with our old friend Bender.

    3. Dear Anonymous,

You can delete me from the list.
      2014 League Record: 4.0 (3-1), 4.5 (3-2)
      2015 League Record: 4.0 (4-1), 4.5 (2-0)
Might have the best winning percentage of all the bump downs.

    4. That's a pretty funny list. A lot of those guys aren't that good. Just because they beat you it doesn't make them good.

    5. Alot of those players are right where they belong. Arcaria, Clark, Oberg, Palacioz Boccara, To, Jean and Somabut. These guys are at the right level.

Diaz-Marta, Radar, Kienzlen, Mbede. Who are they?

  6. Bender got lucky at 3.5 Nationals the first year we had the mass movement in ratings, so he has decided to take the easy way at 3.0

  7. Bender seems to have a Jim Jones/David Koresh type of influence over his cult of players at their High Point compound; leave your ethics in your bag when you walk on the court.

  8. Somabut didn't play and Paul To isn't walking over anyone at 4.0 and don't kid yourself... Clark is not happy he didn't get bumped down to play 3.5 with Wiley. As for the 4.0 super team on the horizon... yes.. .I see it coming...... and its captian will be non other than......Lee...... welcome Newman, Nguyen, Delapaz and others to the dallas version of Freemans teams. Solid 4.5 guys that have played cities at 4.5 now playing 4.0. Nationals or bust.........

    1. Just watch the roster fill on 40 & Over Fretz/Clark, it is a preview of the 18 & Over super team to come.

    2. So far it looks like the same group that couldn't get it done in the past. Now that they are 40, they improved that much?

  9. Let's go en masse to next DTA annual meeting and oust the establishment. Install Corey and his alter ego Murray as exec director; double his salary, make league fees optional; fund the deficit with junk bonds.

Seriously, with Corey Langston installed in a position of power with a mandate to establish accountability and transparency, no need for fall league alternative. While you are making changes Coredawg, get rid of that silly-ass match tiebreaker crutch.

  10. Sounds perfect haha. I like the throwback reference to getting rid of the match tiebreak. Most people don't even remember we actually used to play three sets.
