The Biggest Loser... QT Starts Tonight

Tonight is the first playoff weekend and it gives those second and third place teams to prove who is really the Biggest Loser.  The winner of this weekend takes home the title of the Biggest Loser.
The flights in 4.5 are:

Red
BH/Goswami
BH/Ludwig
Lakes/Way

All three have good teams but I think Goswami has the edge.  Regardless, it is very close.  Had it not been for a DQ, Tridib would be in cities.  Instead, I can't really decide who the clear cut favorite is... because there isn't one.  I stick with my first prediction.  Goswami in a couple 3-2s.

Blue
OC/Pribadi
BH/Harllee
OC/Loose/Herget

This is the much softer flight.  I see Harllee winning this flight with little difficulty.  OC/Loose-Herget could be the spoiler and the OC/Pribadi is just an overachieving team.

The flights in 4.0 are:

Red
Village/Jacob
T-Bar/Snow
Huffhines/McIntosh
OC/Rich

This is definitely the soft flight. I pick T-Bar but the Village could definitely come through. I say that because I have absolutely no idea who any of those guys are and that can mean something.  I stick with T-Bar but not sure about that either.  It will be hot and those guys are not young.

Blue
Garland/Sisk
McKinney/Bazan
CC/McHugh
GH/Ohl

Very tough flight.  It is time for CC to get over the snake bite and come through.

Please tell me why I am wrong.  If I get no responses, I will start making stupid predictions so I can get you Lemmings to tell me how stupid I am.

Good Luck to all and most important, may nobody get hurt.

  1. You really don't know what you are talking about. Greenhill spanks CC, Garland and McKinney

    1. Thanks for the response. Care to inform me why you think that. To be fair, I really don't know either. I was only going on the fact they were a very close second in what all of you say was a very tough flight.

    2. I don't know anything about these matches, but why would you pick GH over CC when they already lost in the regular season to them?

    3. We didn't have our best available. We will be ready this time.

    4. Hey M.L. - you are dealing with a large group of knuckleheads and trolls on this site, who care nothing about your efforts to get some meaningful commentary going. My advice - don't waste your time.

    5. Maybe C.C. didn't have their best available either?

    6. GH didn't have their best doubles team out for the first CC match. That will be the difference this weekend

  2. BH/Ludwig is the weakest of the 6 4.5 teams and they have to play back-to-back on Sat, they'll be lucky to get 3 total lines all weekend. BH/Goswami has a very good top 8, but little depth - if they're at full strength they likely win the QT, if not they could easily lose to Lakes/Way tonight.

BH/Harlee clear favorite in the Blue flight. OC/Loose-Herget would have an outside chance in a 1 match playoff but the back-to-back for them on Saturday will be tough for an older team. OC/Pribadi has some guys that look to have improved significantly this year, could see them picking up a close win over OC/Loose-Herget.

    1. OC/Pribadi is weaker than Ludwig. I agree that OC/Loose-Herget would be tough in a one match but those guys are pretty old.

    1. That other guy is Flora. Why do you think his record is so bad?

    2. You can check out the slimmer, winning Flora tonight at Brookhaven. Not sure about Sisk

    3. Pretty sure it's Newman and Crow, certainly not Flora....and you're right, Flora hasn't "needed" to be good yet this year, he only needed to maintain a 4.0 rating. He'll have his 4.5 game on this weekend. Greenhill still the outright favorite though with strong doubles top to bottom.

    4. One used to be Voss. Looks like the old Newman and Voss. Now voss and Crow

    5. Mean Newman and Crow?

      Delete
    6. Flora does not have a 4.5 game

    7. From the looks of that pic, Flora has 5.5 competitive eating skills.

    8. Saw him at Coney Island dominating the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest. That little Japanese guy hung his head in shame.

  4. That picture is clearly Sisk and Blake Beardon!

    1. I've never seen Blake without either a tennis racquet or a beer in his hand so I don't know how they could have gotten this picture.

  5. Vince and Kelley number two seeds in a 400 pt major zone???? Kelley hasn't played a serious men's match since taking his 4.5 men's team to nationals in 2010 and Kingsley is really a 4.0. How in the heck do they get seeded two? Kelley has never played a usta tourney.. That seeding is a joke!

    1. USTA tourneys are seeded purely off points earned from the last 12 months. You can go 10-10 but if you play in the right tourneys you'll still be a seed because you accumulate points for your one or two wins in the major zones.

      Delete
    2. I slightly disagree w that. I would doubt if Vince was playing w a no name 4.5 that he would even be seeded at all in doubles, much less TWO? That seems way too high. Kelly has ZERO tournament points. He doesn't play tourneys at all. If I was seeded behind them I would be complaining like crazy. Surprised Russo hasn't called to complain.

  6. As the renowned philosopher Mike Tyson once said, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” Some of these guys haven't been really punched all season. It's about to get a little tougher tonight.

  7. Espn keeps talking about the return of the king. Did Kelly go back to SpringPark?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kelly will be uniting w Springpark beginning 2015 when all the key players can play together again. Not 1, not 2, not3....... Not 9, but 10 national appearances most likely to happen in 2015. Like it or not he is the "king" of local tennis. Btw, if he can win a few matches w Vince I will salute him up and down!

  8. Both close matches. CC over Garland. GH over McKinney. Red flight not posted yet.

    1. Looks like it could have gone either way on both. All players must not have been available. Why wasn't Yaremenko in singles?

  9. Looks like Oak Creek will put an end to Canyon Creeeks season tomorrow.

  12. After watching some 4.5 tennis this weekend no wonder Dallas can't beat anyone in Texas. Kelly, PLEEEEZ come back to take men's league serious and give us a shot at winning again !

    1. I think I speak for everyone that played this weekend that most comments on this blog are pretty fair assessments or in good spirit. Your comments would mean you are a great player 4.5 player and will dominiate the cities so why don't you put your name out there so we can see who thinks they are better than all of Dallas 4.5. If not your just a coward. The only thing we know if you have your head up Kelly's butt congrats on that.

    2. And you rrrrrrrrr?

  13. Please watch the comments. That is not good form.

  14. CC played well. Congratulations. In the final match they didn't play Dawson or McHugh. They were able to beat some good teams all weekend and earned it. Dawson said he was fearful of cramping and one has to respect it. It was hot. They should be very competitive at city playoffs.

I've always wondered why McHugh didn't use Grossman more. Looks like he is using him now.

    1. Yeah he should definitely use him more. He is really "good" at calling lines.

  15. Why did Bazan play Shipley at singles, that was an error. Anyone with decent tennis could've beaten that pusher.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Bazan was so worried about GH passing everyone on lines that he forgot to actually beat CC

  16. Oak Creek also advanced. They went undefeated. I have to wonder how they would have done in the other flight.

  17. Kelley playing 9,0 mixed in fort worth tourney. He is playing w a 3.5. Cocky sob

    2. If BH had just combined all three teams they could have won 3 lines.

    4. Lakes got lucky. Tridib is much better team.

    5. Maybe Tridib will get his players available next time. Not our fault he can't get his best players out or even field a whole lineup against us.

  20. Did not know Sisk's older brother played for him too.

  21. Really? So angry. Did the heat get to you yesterday? Calm down. This type of ridiculous behavior makes the rest of your team look bad, and also bolsters all the negativity that surrounds Canyon Creek teams to begin with.

And we were just starting to like you. McHugh is a good dude....hopefully he knows which player you are, and he will remove you from his roster and send you to play in Ft. Worth.

  22. hilarious if anyone believes that was actually posted by someone from CC...

  23. It absolutely was posted by a CC player. Of that, I am 150% sure. If you don't believe it, you can ^%$#& their ^&&*#@ too.
