Denise Terrill Tourney Draws out

So while Lifetime and High Point sweat it out at the glorious venue of Huffhines we will be hanging out at Brookhaven watching you all on ESPN during our breaks.

So the draws are out for this weekend and I am looking forward to this weekend.

Here is a link to the tourney page with the draws

http://tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments/TournamentHome/Tournament.aspx?T=74004

Picks to win:
3.5 Singles: Hard to pick against Anderson to win this one, although Newman should be there in the final with him.

3.5 Dubs: Stein/Strohl (that isn't a bad 4.0 doubles teams, you all should have played up)

4.0 Singles: Noaman Azhar v. McFarlane final with Noaman inching out a win. Although I do think Trae could take out Andy in the 2nd round if he plays well.

4.0 Doubles: Harrigan/Stevens.....although the team of Bazan/Azhar will be hard to beat. Fitch/Colao will be a tough one as well in the top half oh yeah and Bowman/Hutchison are the #1 seed but tough draw for them in the first round.

4.5 Singles: COREDAWG all the way. Come on big guy this is your tourney to lose. Griggs could be a tough match up though.

4.5 Doubles: COREDAWG sweep along with Trey Mckinney.

  1. With the top 2 teams in Dallas playing 4.0 sectionals talent level should be slim for 4.0 level. Ask McFarlane how good the guys that are at sectionals are. oh! & oh!

  2. 4.5 Singles - Dante Edwards
    4.0 Singles - Noaman Azhar

  3. 3.5 Singles - P. Montalvo
    4.0 Singles - A. MacFarlane
    4.5 Singles - D. Edwards

    3.5 Doubles - Anderson/Jones
    4.0 Doubles - Fitch/Colao
    4.5 Doubles - Edwards/Ratana

Epic fail of the weekend, Gerber in 4.0 singles... welcome to big boy tennis, we will see if the mouth of the south and 3.5 tennis will talk so much stuff now!

  4. Just thinks it's funny that I finally get a good draw and it's in the tournament worth the least points. I hope I get to play Phillip though because it's been 3 or 4 years since we've played.

Griggs is definitely the singles favorite. I don't think Dante is back to top form yet since his injury. Doubles will be interesting.

  5. 3.5: Who cares?

4.0: MacF will lose in the first round to Ahner. He lost to him already this year in straight sets. Most likely, Ahner will be in the finals versus Azhar. Either can get the win.

4.5: Griggs all the way, no doubt!

  6. Tough to get a good draw in tournaments where half the players would beat you.

Better not look past Hanson or you'll give up a game.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Wasn't Eddie a 3.5 talking garbage on this blog not too long ago? Now he's kicking ass at 4.0 and got bumped to 4.5. It's amazing what someone with just a little athletic ability can do in tennis, having started only three or so years back. Doesn't say much for the 3.5 and 4.0 lifers, let alone the ones that insist on sandbagging and playing down.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Cary I'm confused. I thought in some posts last year that Noaman wasn't a doubles player, now you are going to win the tourney? I'm assuming you will be carrying him then, right?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Why does Hanson play so high? He would not even win a 3.0 match. What a joke! This shold not be allowed.

The rule is needed to prohibit players to play up more than 1 level. So, if Hanson is 2.5, his max level to play would be 3.5 and not 4.5 as what this joker does!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. And now Eddie is 4.0 talking garbage on the blog and about to get his ass kicked in 4.5 tennis this fall. I know, I know Eddie is about to go to nationals at 4.0 but regardless what level he is he is always good for some trash talk. That's what we like about Eddie!

  11. 4.5 Singles Dark Horse winner...Sam Stollenwerck

  12. I would love to know all of the players in this tournament that would beat me. Enlighten me. I fully expect to lose a game to Hanson by the way, if not more.

In my opinion, getting a good draw is not playing somebody who makes the finals in the first round, which has happened to me twice this year in singles, and twice in doubles. So if Hanson beats me, I predict him to go all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow, that's classy. If that is an advantage for me why would I want to change it?

    ReplyDelete
  14. "I would love to know all of the players in this tournament that would beat me. Enlighten me."

That's the point. Local tourney, not as good comp = easier draw. MZ, better comp = hard draw.

  15. 7:53pm poster, why are you checking out the coredawg anyway? Are you gay? You sure do sound like you might be!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Who is CoreDawg? Just curious if its Mr. Bazan?

    ReplyDelete
  17. You should ask 7:53 he seems to me in love with him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. WTF? Minor 100 pt tourney and Nancy is not seeded? Doesn't Brookhaven know greatness when it is soon to be in its midst? Simply asstounding.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Alright you guys caught me. I have a man crush on Cory and I can't help myself.

    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sisk - you'd love him more if he could play on your 3.5 team.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Not Sisk, but I am sure there are several 3.5 captains that would love for Corey to be on their roster.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Regardless of how good the tournament is, if I play the eventual finalist in the first round, it's a bad draw. And there are very few easy draws for anybody in major zones (except Trey McKinney). What's your point?

Based on most people's opinion on this blog, I should be playing 3.5 soon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gerber is in a 4.0 draw!! He is not a pussy! It will be funny if he wins the whole thing like Eddie did in fort worth. LFT spirit.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 4.5 Singles:

    SF 1: Griggs d. Noel (6-3, 6-2)
    SF 2: Edwards. d. Bay (7-5, 6-3)

    Finals: Griggs defeats Edwards (6-3, 4-6, 6-2)

    4.0 Singles (who really cares):

    SF 1: Azhar d. Rossouw (6-3, 6-2)
    SF 2: Crouch d. Ahner (7-5, 4-6, 6-4)
    Finals: Azhar d. Crouch (6-4,6-2)

  25. Trae Bowman is the sexiest player in 4.0. Mmmm, give me some of that milk chocolate.

He and Leonard are like double stuffed oreos. A little chocolate and a lot of cream.

    Trae also has great strokes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You are REALLY weird.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You know that has to be his wife giving him all that lovin'

    ReplyDelete
  28. I found Sean Bay to be a nice guy - you sound a little bitter.

As for the Trae Bowman post with a lil Leonard mixed in and that cracks me up. If that is his wife he must be rolling - otherwise - CREEPY.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Are you serious? Gerber couldnt win the 3.5 draw! The only thing Gerber and Eddie have in common is the large ego!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gerber failed. So what else is new?

    ReplyDelete
  31. all 4.0 seeds won in the first round... usually at least one of eight loses...

    ReplyDelete
  32. What the hell is going on with Dante Edwards. That injury must have been major. He had a really poor Spring and gets blown out today 1 and 1. This really opens up the bottom of the draw.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jealous of what? They both got there asses kicked this weekend! Kind of funny how losing can shut up the trash talking!

  35. Andy,

    Oh shivers. Good job mate!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Did Andrew play with his shirt on this weekend? The guy thinks he is god's gift!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Andy played great this weekend and was on great behavior, I actually got to talk to him alot. Tourneys seem a lot more relaxed than league play for sure.

It was also nice to meet Oleg and watch Gerardo play again, he has improved a lot since last time I saw him two years ago.

I would say it was glad to meet Yuan but I definitely don't like losing but he is a nice guy so I guess I didn't mind and I got to go catch the end of the 4.0 Sectional final so thanks to Yuan for given me a beatdown.

Good job to Bill/Steve for winning the doubles draw. Congrats also to Sexy Chocolate/Leonard for taking Noaman and I out in convincing fashion, if you guys got that pumped up for all your matches you would be undfeated.

I want to thank any of you for entering this great tournament, I got to meet some of the staff and Mrs. Terrill and it really puts things in perspective when she started talking about her daughter and what this tourney is really all about.

I am looking forward to next year.

  38. Kind of funny, You guys just hosted the USTA league Sectionals this past weekend and your Dallas League Tennis has no wrap up, pics, or discussion of the league championships. Instead you are posting a local tournament. WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  39. you happy anon biatch. Feel free to send me pics and your own breakdown any time you want. I had to work last night and watching my young one today and then working tonight. But I love to make time for wonderful guys like you.

  40. Tough to cover sectionals when your vision is obstructed with petty jealousies.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cary, You basiclly got knocked out of the consolation draw by a 3.5? I know he was recently bumped up to 4.0 but seriously...

    ReplyDelete
  42. What to say to this....hmmmm

...I will only say I look forward to a rematch when I can actually move around the court and dont need 10 advil to try and mask the pain of a torn patella. This tournament is an example of what three weeks rest without playing a single game and letting my injuries recover can do.

Regarding the prediction I would loose to Aher based on viewing my record and seeing he beat me a couple of months ago. I lost to him and thats the bottom line, just like I lost to featherstone no excuses I lost and thye won. But I tore my patella the week earlier to playing Aher half way through the final of the Dallas classic which I still mannaged to win. Dwayne is a good player and full credit to him on his first win over me, but i'm glad I got a rematch in this tournament when I was actually able to move without pain, and look forward to playing everyone I lost to (all 4 of them) again healthy.

Anyway this was a really fun tournament and congrats to everyone win or loose it was for a great cause.

    Andy Mac

  43. Yuan is a legit 4.0, he will do well this year, not amazing but well. He is a smart player and a singles player as well, which I have never claimed to be although I am working on it.

I don't feel bad losing to him at all, he is very smart and consistent. Whom did you get knocked out by anon?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Andy Mac,

You my friend are a medical miracle, your torn patella is now totally healed in 3 weeks! Nice, just a little rest and now your as good as new, who needs orthopedic doctors!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Take time to read my post before reacting to it. As mentioned the injury was done the week before my first encounter with Dwayne which was 5/17. I kept playing with a knee brace and pain killers team tennis but was playing at about 70% thus not having a good end to my season. Hey end of the day no excuses bottom line Is I shouldent have even been playing or at least not all singles, and wouldent have some of the end of season losses on my record that I do. My record this year prior to that date I feel is respectable. The three weeks I mentioned was the 3 weeks of complete rest since my last team tennis match, and the beginning of this tournament. I still wear a 2 lb brace (as everyone in this tournament would have seen) but it seems to help enough. I'd say i'm at about 80-90% right now.

I have avoided posting on this blog for several reason mostly because it seems like a cespool for haters, but when you read comments made about you from people who obviously dont know all the facts it kinda pisses you off. That said they act as amazingly good motivation, Especially the 6th post in this thread :-).

    A Mac

  46. Andy,

you are not the only one who battles injuries. I know for sure that at least several of the folks whom you played this week were nursing some injuries too.

    ReplyDelete
  47. This is non Andy Mac, but "August 11, 2009 8:23 AM" Why are you such a hater?

    ReplyDelete
  48. True everyone deals with injuries, and I have always played through them in all the sports ive played. One thing I would say however is in my experiences it is easier to deal/recover from them in your twenties then late 30's. I think I was the oldest player that I played in this entire tournament, and my good friend Noaman who i met in the final was 10 years younger then me.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The point I was trying to make in my last post was that at 27 I dont remember EVER getting injured. Getting old sucks :-)

I feel better now... I am sorry for all of this, I am not going to let anybody tell me how somebody is until I personally meet that person, if you know what I mean. Lets just put this behind us because, I am not a bad person. Next time we play will be great... Later...
