BROOKHAVEN TOURNAMENT

"Adult Levels"

Why don't Brookhaven tournament's have snappy names like the Village tournaments?
This particular edition of the monthly Brookhaven tournament is called the :

"BROOKHAVEN COUNTRY CLUB ADULT LEVELS"

Ok, glad to see we put some marketing effort behind the name.
The tournament has a healthy size of 345 Total Players,

With 45 degree temperatures and an 8o percent chance of rain on Friday,
This looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
I, for one, do not like standing around with my hands in my pants waiting for my match.
If the weather is as bad as it looks like it might be, there may be a lot of players calling in sick for this one ,

  1. Why is Forrest seeded (4) in the 4.5 singles?

I have not seen any 4.5 tourney single matches for him in 2008 or 2009.

    ReplyDelete
  2. ^
    |
Probably seeded by default as a result of being one of the few actual 4.5 rated players in the draw

    ReplyDelete
  3. Two rounds on Friday,
48 degrees & 80 percent chance of rain,
    Should be intesrting.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Forrest #4 Seed?

Maybe, just maybe because he beat the #1 Seed in straight last summer, 4 & 2 at Waco MZ.

    ReplyDelete
  5. can Carlquist win another brookhaven tourney? It looks like the competition was stiffer at Indoors.

    CArlquit/Brouer to win it all

    ReplyDelete
  6. Doubles is for the old and infirm,
If Carlquist's forehand was as big and bad as people say it is he would get some singles action!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Singles action for Carlquist... how do you think he got such a big forehand?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Going forward please refer to Chads forehand as THOR'S HAMMMER.

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  9. singles is too much work.

Chad has a huge forehand. Steven has a huge backhand. They are destined.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thor's hammer has abused many nets and back walls. Come Friday night he may owe Brookhaven a net

    ReplyDelete
  11. Tighten the wind screens, secure the fences, and the Ice Packs ready.
The Reign of THOR'S HAMMER will be upon Brookhaven County Club.

  12. BH Predictions
    Singles
3.5 Not really sure so I will go withthe Number 1 seed Whitson
    4.0 Stephen Terrell
    4.5 Philip Griggs
Open Javier Herrera (I really do not know many in this level)

    Doubles
3.5 Stein/Wiley Don't know most in this draw but both of these guys belong up a level and I would be surprised if they lost.
4.0 Brouer/Carlquist This may be the easiest draw to pick.
4.5 Nguyen/Rasor I know most in the draw and unless one of the unknowns are really good, then these two should easily win.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Looks like there a good number of 3.5 bump ups in the 4.0. Eazy pickings for the seasoned 4.0 and lower 4.5 players.

Marc Klamacki is playing 4.0 - good for him. Lets see what he can really do.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The Oakridge 3.5 Tennis Team has about 12 players from their team playing in the BH tournament. With that many players in the draw one of them should win the tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  15. A lot of crafty veteran players in the 4.5 dubs draw so I do not think it's so easy to pick. I would say Tarver and his partner are favorites. I can't really figure out how we are the 1 seeds when Jean has more points than almost Trey and I combined but oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Sweeney/Wildberger in 4.0 doubles

OC BL - Don't be such a puss. Just get out there and play.

  18. What a draw for the Open (seeds).
    1 seed - former all-american at Baylor
2 seed - current UTA player
    3 seed - former pro/coach
4 seed - current UTPA player

Not sure if there is more than 1 or 2 5.0 guys beyond that though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oak Ridge has only 7 players playing at 3.5 level not 12. Someone dont know how to count. Also a couple of them will play in 2nd round if they win 1st match.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey 11:49PM poster, you obviously dont know Forrest if you say that about him. Probably says more about you than him!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Forrest is a nice guy - but why does he get so much air time around here? I wonder if Forrest post the original question about himself to see what others think of him?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Most people rag on Forrest, because over the last two years, he beat many guys, and a significant amount of them felt they were overmatched.

So, there are two options available. Practice and get better and beat him the next time out, or just call him names like sandbagger and the like.

Obviously, most people choose the ladder. And think about it, to date, I can't remember one person talking bad about him who has posted his name.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'll take Berry & Leff to win 4.0 dubs.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hey Corey - What's the story on the guy you played in the 1st round in Austin?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm thinking Arby's!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. In the 3.5 men's doubles wonder if #3 seed of Miterner & Strohl can pull it out again as in the last Brookhaven tournament. Looks like there is a lot better competition in this one than the last Brookhaven tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I wonder why the top players from around the state didn't sign up for the tournament?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'll take Berry & Leff to win 4.0 dubs.

Berry - Not as good as he thinks he his.

Leff - not a good doubles player.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mitterer & Strohl could win. I think they will get to the finals (unless some unknown team beats them).

I thank the person who picked Zach and myself but I am moving pretty bad. I have a pretty painful groin area injury and my usual slow movement became slower.

Stephen Bennett and Kim Anderson could do well. Stephen should have been moved up last year but the computer does weird things. Stephen is arguably the best computer rated 3.5 in the area. Kim is a very solid player who can complement Stephen so I think they could do very well. I hope Zach and I get to play against them but with my health, we will be fortunate to see round 2.

I do not know most of the players (including our first round opponents) so it could be an unknown team who wins 3.5.

    ReplyDelete
  30. what a puss...whiley already making excuses due to health reasons. Sh_t, half the guys out here have bad knees, elbows, arms and the like. Quit yanking it and you wouldn't have a pulled groin.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I learned a long time ago if you can not pronounce your opponents name, you had better watch out.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well... the hip, groin (or as you say "small penis") and strain are all from the same injury. I have never complained about my elbow.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Favorites in 3.5???? just sounds weird.

    ReplyDelete
  34. He was average. He kept a lot of balls in play. I double faulted about 40 times and was tired after about two games. I served for both sets but couldn't hit a second serve in the box. I felt like I would have normally won the match 3 and 3 but the bottom line is that I didn't. He was an unorthodox player who hit with little pace so he didn't give very many free points. He couldn't handle the few good serves I did hit but I had no consistency.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anons get off Wiley, Bennett, Anderson and get on the court! Post up and play these guy's, yes I'm no good either so play me first.

    Sisk

    ReplyDelete
  36. Zack is strong enough to carry Wiley to the doubles championship

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wiley - Don't be a puss!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Glen Strohl is the greatest 3.5 tennis player in the United States. He can beat the likes of Rene Alzuro at any given moment. In fact he is probably a 4.5 who just wants to play down to be with his buddies. A true champion in my opinion!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does every thread have to get bogged down with 3.5 crap? Funny how it only takes 3 crappy tennis players to ruin a blog. Take your garbage elsewhere ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  40. We are all crappy tennis players. Unless you are winning tournament money, you probably are not very good.

But yeah, it does not take many to ruin the blog. One small who gives a f*** statement by a player and he gets slammed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The amount of comment posting is usually inversely related to one's rating.

Luckily 3.0s are still learning to tie their shoes, otherwise they'd run this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I will say it again that Glen Strohl is the best 3.5 in DFW by far. If you have seen his strokes you would not disagree. It is simply damm fine tennis and if you disagree your just plain dumb. Don't hate just because your not as talented.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I agree with the last anon. poster. Glen Strohl is in my opinion the best 3.5 player in the metroplex. I have seen him single handed take down many of rusty 4.0 or even 4.5 that are rated 3.5

    ReplyDelete
  44. Glen Strohl?

Is he the gay German guy with the limp wristed volleys?

Or the Fat old guy that can't move?

I think you have to mix in a single match to be considered "good"

    ReplyDelete
  45. So are you saying the pussy alert needs to go out on Glen Strohl for not playing 4.0?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Mitterer plays very good singles in addition to doubles and wins 90%
of the time and this is mostly against 4.0 players. You better have a total game to beat him in singles.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I will say it once again, Glen Strohl will beat any 4.0 and give a 4.5 all they want. So if an alert needs to go out, then it needs to go to all the doubters of his dominant game. As far as his doubles partner, he could carry any level player. Simply stated: He has sweet strokes. Believe that..

    ReplyDelete
  48. To the anon poster about the pussy alert for not playing 4.0, I played Glen Strohl and I think he is a strong 4.0 bordering on 4.5 He has the ability to hit all the shots required to be considered a 4.5

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't even know this Glenn guy but I have to call BS on all this praise. He can beat any 4.0 and challenge any 4.5? Than why has he lost 8 matches at the 3.5 level?? A guy who can beat any 4.0 wouldn't be losing to 3.5s. Based on his record I would say he's a very strong 3.5, nothing more. He has three losses against 3.5s where he won 3 games or less.

    ReplyDelete
  50. This Glen Strohl sycophant must be Wiley talking to deflect from his pussyness and give him an excuse when his whiny ass loses. He should move up, he played 4.0 in the last tournament and get a win over the number 2 seed?

    ReplyDelete
  51. What about the 4.0s? who are the favorites in the doubles at Brookhaven this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Coredawg - havent you learned by now that anyone who is successful playing 3.5, is a 4.5 superstar in hiding. Especially when there first name is Glen.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hello Morons – Time to wake up! Glen Strohl is at best an average 3.5 player. He doesn’t have any type of serve or strokes. When he’s at the baseline, he lobs everything. When he’s at the net, he’s luck to get it back over ….unless you hit the ball right to him.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ludwig / Myers is the only 4.0 team that even has a chance against Carlquist / Broeur. Carlquist Broeur won't drop a set the whole tournament. The competition at 4.0 is much weaker than at the last couple of tournaments.

    ReplyDelete
  55. For what it is worth, I am not the Glen Strohl/Michael Mitterer (to the best of my knowledge, never met or seen either one play) sycophant. I really did not know an anon would have a vocabulary that would include sycophant. I am impressed. Of course in an effort to keep the blog classy, anon included the obligatory female anatomy reference.

I now fear Strohl and Mitterer. Does anyone know where I can go procure some kryptonite? Since they are on the other side of the draw, I may not need it and if I do it will not be until Sunday afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous people who bash are cowards. Thankfully we have insiders who give us your names. Watch yourself men.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Froget tennis where did this gut come up with SYCOPHANT.It doesnt matter what level any of them play at with that kind of vocabulary. WOW............ He must be a 5.0 at Scrabble.....

    ReplyDelete
  58. anons are intellects

    ReplyDelete
  59. Glen Strohl was a 4.0 & cried down to 3.5. Ask him & he will tell you that is just the system. He will tell you ever loss was to a 4.0-4.5 player who was playing out of his level. Has never played up while been here & always brings a partner that can carry him.

    ReplyDelete
  60. 3.5 ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey Remember the good ole days, when we used to look at the draw and try to predict who might win this match or win that match and actually discussed an upcoming tennis tournament???

Like who would win between Trey and Fernando Contreras?

Oh well, I guess it is time to go back to regularly scheduled non-sensical bashing of 3.0 and 3.5 level players.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There are 3.5 players out there?

    ReplyDelete
  63. The bashing appears to go on and on and on. The times that people are scheduled to play this weekend are very starnge. I wonder what they do if there are rain delays through out the weekend. It will be interesting to see how they get it all in.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'll put it out........pussy alert for Glenn Strohs

and don't mess with Miterer...he is missing 2 bones in his wrist and is a true miracle of tennis...and he can hold his liquor

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah, but who are those Trey and Fernando guys? I thought they were playing at Billy Bob's this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Look like they tried to press two rounds into Friday night
    5pm - 6:30pm - 8pm
I assume they will play as many as possible on the covered and indoor courts.

But how late are they willing to play?
And at what point will they go to abbreviated scoring?
Last tournament I played in that got rained out all matches were started a 2 games all, no ad, 3 set tie break.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Brookhaven is going to suck having to wait and wait and wait.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Any titty bar nearby to waitout the rain delay at?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Why don't you just have Sisk, Bennett, and Anderson dance for you.

    ReplyDelete
  70. LMAO - ok I have to admit that was funny - and I like those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think all the non believers of Glen Strohl's awesome game will be singing a different tune after this weekend. Once you suffer a beating deivered by his superior game you will become a believer. You cant deny excellent strokes and all court game

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ok lets get off of the 3.5 gamers ( Strohl, Mitterer, Bennet, Wiley, etc. etc. )and on to the real event the 4.0s and the 4.5s. Should be interesting. Who cares about the 3.5s. Boring.........

    ReplyDelete
  73. Who has bigger tits?

We could have one of the big tit tournaments like we get on e-mail. Klamecki and ( Y ) would be all over that.

    Bennet v Wiley
    Anderson v Strohl
    Mitterer v Etc...

    ReplyDelete
  74. How did you leave Sisk out of your tournament?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Picks
    Open - Herrera over Jooste
    4.5 -Feuille over Griggs
4.0 - no idea but i'll go with Ole Oleg
    4.5 Dudbs - Nice tournout. Nguyen/Rasor

    ReplyDelete
  76. Not bad picks.

Forrest has the easiest quarter of the draw, and his semi should be winnable. The bottom overall is easier than the top and Griggs is the class down there. I actually take Griggs to win the whole thing.

In 4.5 doubles, I am not sure a seed wins this. I go with Tarver/Johnson. Once again the top seems tougher than the bottom. I think whoever comes out of the top half the top, takes the tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I agree with the last predictions, although I don't know how much Phillip has been playing. Forrest may be able to outlast him if they play. The interesting thing is that Phillip was signed up in open by the time the deadline passed, then he turns up in 4.5. Before that I would have thought Trey was the best player in the draw, but he has a horrible section compared to the other three seeds.
A lot of competitive dubs matches but I agree that Tarver/Johnson are favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  78. "Who has bigger tits?

    Damn am I that big:(

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think Jonathan Renwick will do well in 4.0 singles

    ReplyDelete
  80. In 4.0. If Klamecki gets past Jeffrey Archer, which should happen. Bob Somabut will definitely give him a lesson for FREE!

    ReplyDelete
  81. I know Bob's a tough player,

It's tough when you have to play a round and then play another back to back vs someone with a bye,

Hopefully he will sandbag vs me to keep his rating 4.0 down.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I just hope I get to play on Friday.

Can you say 10 game proset?

    ReplyDelete
  83. BH will probably do 1 round Friday instead of the 2 rounds as some are scheduled and play all indoor and in the barn.

    ReplyDelete
  84. How is it that there is so much chatter over a piss-ant 100 point tournament?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like Brouer in singles. Klamecki will have a tough match with Archer, he is a pretty solid player for the 1st round. I do like Bob v. OC though if it comes to that.

Good luck to all of you and the weather.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Any 3.5 rated players playing in the 4.5 singles draw or doubles draw? Is that a mistake? I see a few. IDIOTS. Or am I crazy?

    ReplyDelete
  87. It's their money...if they have the game and the balls to step up to better competition, let them bring it.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I have heard of some negative feedback on the tournament director Dave Ware from some other players. Anyone have any clue what that is about? Any history on Ware run tournaments? Just curious. -DEEZ NUTZ

    ReplyDelete
  89. Not sure. Dave has always done a real good job of running tournaments that I have been in for the past couple of years.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Dave does a great job. My 2 cents

    ReplyDelete
  91. To the poster about 3.5 players in the 4.5 draw, Dont be scared to play. Just because Glen Strohl has a 3.5 rating does not mean that he wont dominate the 4.5 draw this weekend. It is rumeored that he plays in the open draw in the Houston area.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hard to dominate an event he isn't even playing in.

    ReplyDelete
  93. David Ware runs the best tournaments in the Dallas Area.Try playing the Village if you want a Crappy run Tournament.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Dave runs the best tournamnets period.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wait. I thought Nancy ran the best tournaments?

    ReplyDelete
  96. No,
Nancy just give the best head.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Have a little class.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Now that was over the line. This blog just gets classier and classier.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Anybody have any insider info on tonight,

Tournament website say they will update at 3pm,

I think at this point it's safe to say there will be no matches played outside at 5pm.

    ReplyDelete
  100. tournament updates are now on line. Looks as if everything was moved back a little bit.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Looking at the scores, they are playing a TB in place of the 3rd set. Hope it isn't no-ad

    --How bout them Bears!

    ReplyDelete
  102. They are updating frequently. Check the Tournament home page as all start times have been modified. They have canceled all consolation matches for today.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Has anyone seen Marcus lately? How is his fashion sense now? Surely he's made some adjustments after being abused on here.

    ReplyDelete
  104. J Marcus Today,
    Tight Baby Blue Spandex Shirt,

Matching Shorts pulled up to his Man Breasts.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I spotted Marcus out on a court at Brookhaven …… it looked like he was completely out of breath. He was just sitting on the bench between games. He was looking very pail. At first I didn’t recognized because he was so white. He sat on the bench for a few mins while his opponent went out to the court and bounced around for a while. While his opponent was bouncing around and getting ready to serve, Marcus got up and took off his shirt ….oh my god ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Marcus should have been arrested. There were women and children around. As he turned around … he bent over his tennis bag, squatted a bit to pull out another shirt from his bag … his pants came halfway down his ass …..showing off his white thong / T-back and a full moon . The dark side! It was frightening! He caused several of the children that were watching him to just start crying. Marcus didn’t think twice about it. He just put his new shirt on, tucked it in, pulled up his pants to his breast and walked out to the court. It was unreal. The whole experience was very disturbing. It just makes you wondering what this guy is thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  106. what are some of the results from today

I believe my pick in the 4.0 singles Jonathan one both his matchs today.

    ReplyDelete
  108. didn't someone pick Oleg to win?? i see he got knocked out today...so who is the favorite now?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Dave is a good guy. HOWEVER, he states it is a OUTDOOR tournament and the forecast says high some time that day of 40 degree's any person with a HALF A BRAIN moves it indoors and announces it, no not Dave. Welcome to the land of defaults. Dave could care less with the defaults he makes his money regardless.

VERY disappointed in Dave on this tournament.

Hopefully next year NO ONE signs up. We need to show all tournament directors that we are all human and HORRIBLE weather conditions allow the tournament to think of the players instead of all the dollars they are making. True this year lots of $$$$ will be made but of those of us that are REALLY UPSET for having to play outdoors in the horrible conditions boycott there will be a $$$loss are our statement is well heard.

    ReplyDelete
  110. "Dave is a good guy. Did they have courts open in the barn? I imagine Dave can not just move the tournament indoors just like that. The club probably needs advance notice because the members come first then the tournament. I could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Saw comments in regards to 4.5 doubles. Tarver is very good, saw Johnson play a couple of weeks ago, he is hurt and not playing very well at all. My vote is Rasor.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Dude – Your comments about Dave are out of line. Dave is working his ass off in trying to make the tournament happen. The tournament was scheduled for outdoors. Dave is doing everything possible to more as many matches into the barn and into the climate control courts. Typically Brookhaven is completely booked up in the barn and climate control courts on Saturday and Sunday mornings days to a week a head of time.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Renwick has to be one of the biggest cheaters I have ever played. I bet he hooked me at least 10 times when I played him. The guy he played the round before me complained of the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem when playing him? I can't imagine playing him during league play when there are no line judges.

    ReplyDelete
  114. DUDE
Ever heard of a 5 day forecast. I guess tournament directors could care less about the players only the dollars they are going to make. FIY to use the indoor and covered courts cost money that probably comes out of the tournament directors pocket.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Lots of upsets on the upper draw of the Men’s 3.5 singles

    ReplyDelete
  116. I guess I was way out of line because I thought the tournament started on Friday night. Oh wait it did start on Friday. I guess you are a Dave W. fan and did not understand the Friday HIGH OF 40 degree's. TOTALLY understand the Saturday comment which is why I talked about the FRIDAY NIGHT draws.

Sorry I will be more clear next time. Just curious, I am sure you enjoy paying money to play in SUB 40 degree weather at night so the tournament director can make more money.

    ReplyDelete
  117. The more matches that are played in the barn or in the climate control courts, the less money Brookhaven will make. The USTA still gets their cut no matter what. Dave could always cancel the tournament or really scale it back if he wanted to. Dave is working hard at trying to make the tournament a success.

    ReplyDelete
  118. It wasn't windy and highs today got to mid-50's. What do you want for a tourney in early March?
The only reason any matches were inside was due to the impact of rain delays. You signed up for an outdoor tournament, didn't you? What's your complaint?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Yes, I have played Renwick in the past! I know what you’re talking about. I have experienced the same thing with him. He’s very aggressive with his line calls. I’m not sure if he understands what sportsmanship is all about or if a ball is 99 % out, it’s still in. His father needs to have a talk with him.

    ReplyDelete
  120. People that won on Friday don't seem to be complaining:)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Exactly! It’s an outdoor tournament! Dave doesn’t have to move any of the matches into the barn or into the climate control courts.

    ReplyDelete

Really I have played him before and not had one problem??? I am guessing you are the number one seed that lost 2 and 0. Did you call a line judge?

    ReplyDelete
  123. I didn't play him in this tournament. I'm assuming he beat you easily and didn't need to cheat.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Sorry I guess it was not made clear enough about FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

Saturday was 50. FRIDAY NIGHT ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  129. Sorry but you kept saying how nice it was Saturday, I felt you were not clear enough of the weather on FRIDAY which is why it had to be stated multiple times. Glad you finally understood.

Win or lose some of us have a life and do not want to sacrifice our bodies to play in basically freezing weather so some tournament director can make his or her cut. Funny make a tournament director PLAY in the same conditions as us players and watch the changes.

My guess is you did not or do play tournaments.

  138. This has to be the dumbest argument ever. Any other tournament with this weather would not be playing. They are not going to kick members who are paying thousands of dollars a year off of indoor courts to accommodate tournament players paying $25. If it's an outdoor tournament, you either play outdoors or you don't play. Any other tournament would have canceled all matches on Friday and half of Saturday and we would be playing 2-2, no-ad. Anybody who gets to play indoors should consider it a privilege, not a right.
The average indoor court will cost you a minimum of $10 an hour. If this was advertised as an indoor tournament, like the one in February, and you get stuck outdoors you would have a complaint. However, I imagine the entry fee would be much higher for an indoor tournament. Since this isn't one, SHUT THE F*** UP!!!!
If you didn't dress to play outdoors, that's your problem.

  141. The Mighty Glenn M. Strohl went out in the first round.

He must have had to play outside.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Oh, my. What happen to Michael Mitterer and Glenn Stohl? Down and out in the first round?

  144. Paul Trevino really needs to reconsider his ideas of playing at the 4.5 level. He just screws up the draw by giving someone a very easy match

Paul – Please only play at the 4.0 level. You don’t belong at the 4.5 level.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Actually Trey and I lost 1 and 1. He got injured on the first point and really only kept playing out of guilt for not wanting me to be upset. I made up for it by playing worse than him. Our opponents played very well though so I'm interested to see how they do tomorrow.

  146. Wanted to respond about Glen Strohl match. The guys he lost to were both Division 1 players in college who are playing out of level. An official complaint will be filed!!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Neither of the guys that beat Glen Strohl played Div 1 tennis. In fact they both stink. Both Trey Weir and Ron Whitson have played 3.5 for a number of years. Trey just lost 6-3, 6-0 in the 1st rd of singles. Whitson lost 7-8, 6-2 in singles to Mark Coats (not a steller 3.5 player).

  149. “The Mighty Glenn M. Strohl went out in the first round.

He must have had to play outside.”

Guys – you got have got to get your facts correct before making a post. The Mighty Glenn Strohl actual went down way before the first round started and he played inside. But didn’t go down because of a little doubles tennis match or didn’t play on an indoor tennis court. Since all the matches were running so far behind do to the weather Friday night. Mitterer decided to hit / work out with his buddies from the German National Team very early Saturday morning at T-Bar M. During the early / mid morning time frame Strohl & Mitterer teamed up to play a few sets of doubles against a couple of the guys from the German National Team. There was some unbelievable tennis! You should have seen it. After finishing up with a little doubles, Strohl, Mitterer and several from the German National Team went down to Lower Greenville for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. They partied their asses off! The Mighty Glenn Strohl had more chicks hanging on him than one could shake a stick at. They were really living it up and having a lot of fun! Each of the guys must have drank a keg of beer. Around 5:00 or so Strohl and Mitterer were going to head of to Brookhaven for their doubles match, but Strohl have four gorgeous little SMU spinners all dressed in green just hanging on him ……. So Mitterer told Strohl to have fun with his little green doubles teams. Mitterer then called up another guy from Brookhaven to fill in for Strohl. Thus Strohl didn’t play in the tournament and the rest is history.

  150. What happen to Steven Brouer against Jonathan Renwick this morning? Renwick put Brouer down, 6-1, 6-0. Good grief? Renwick is either really good or cheated his ass off or Brouer must have had his right arm and left leg up his ass.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Strohl didnt play. He had a sub. Get your facts straight.... WTF!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  152. What happened to Glen & Michael the 4.0-4.5 players playing down? I got the impression they were going to run away with the tournament. I did notice that Glen's mother sent a comment and stood up for him

    ReplyDelete
  153. Glenn Strohl did play in the tournament. He was working with and on his spinners.

    ReplyDelete
  154. His own tournament! He went four rounds and won!

    ReplyDelete
  155. Strohl and Mitterer would have run away with the Brookhaven tournament if it wasn’t for the four cute little coeds from SMU.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Strohl couldn't pick up my 80 year old grandmother.

    ReplyDelete
  157. He's just another ringer playing down a level to win, how exciting

    ReplyDelete
  158. For a person who didn't play in the Brookhaven tournament Glenn has certainly generated a large amount of highly authoritative commentary here. He was unable to play, was not there and a substitute played in his place. Hopefully that won't stop the steady flow of witticism and sparkling commentary about his match though.

  163. 4.5A
    Collin County/Phillips Hackberry/Borre
    Oak Creek/Bovermann
    Oak Creek/Branch
    Stonebridge/Teat
    Oak Creek/Feldman
    Royal Oaks/Rothwell
    T Bar M/Schnittker
    Village/Warren
    High Point/Bazan

    4.5B
    Brookhaven/Harllee
    Greenhill/Stoner
    Huffhines/Noel
    High Point/Nguyen
    Lakes Tennis/Dunford
    LB Houston/Ratana
    Oak Creek/Juhn
    Springpark/Abbruzzese
    DFW Hilton/Wallace
    T Bar M/Snow

Gotta call 4.5A the group of death. OC/Branch will take one of the two spots in the DCC. OC Feldman is in with their Fall win. If they finish in the top two, they lock out some decent teams in Royal Oaks and TBar. Group A includes 3 teams that qualified for DCC last year (2 of which made Sectionals) plus the Fall winner in O/C Feldman. 1-2 teams out of OC/Branch, TBar and Royal Oaks will be sitting at home come DCC time.

4.5B- Merry Christmas to Brookhaven and Corey's Huffhines. Yawn, yawn, yawn. Wake me up when this one is over. Lakes, High Point, anyone, anyone.

  164. Corey's team should be named the Nomads. They have been several places. Will they ever find a home?

  166. No facility will keep us for more than one season. Seriously though, it's funny how that keeps happening. Flight A is ridiculous. However our flight is not as easy as it seems. A lot of strong teams. High Point's roster looks very strong.

I may have a full breakdown of the flights by later tonight.
