Senior League DCC

So 3.5 as expected is coming down to HP v. GH. I have a feeling the 2nd verse will be the same as the first with HP winning 2-1, they are just a little too deep for GH, but Kayser must love me picking against him because usually that is good for his guys. Sorry HP. :(

4.0
This division looks intriguing as it all comes down to the final matches as undefeated TBAR takes on Stonebridge who needs a sweep or a dominating 2-1 win to jump to the top. HP takes on 0-2 BH and can finish at the top with a win and TBar loss. Could be a 3 way tie, oh my?! I have to say GO HP! Not just because I like those guys but I see them finishing at the top when the dust settles.

4.5
Action starts tomorrow and I am putting my money on OC to win the 2 v. 3 match but then come up short v. the Village. by a very close margin.

  3. 3.5 SR MAJOR LEAGUE SPANKED 3.5 SR MINOR LEAGUE
    City Playoff Standings
    HIGH POINT (1st Place Flight A) 3-0
    Greenhill (2nd Place A) 2-1
    Shores (3rd place A) 1-2
    Canyon Creek 1st Flight B) 0-3

That means the top three teams were all in Flight A.

Also Brookhaven who tied Shores for 3rd place in Flight A was likely the 4th best team (better than any of the Flight B teams) but did not make playoffs.

  4. In 4.5 O.C.Stewart won the 2v3 against Brookhaven and then won a close one against The Village 2-1.

  6. wow, i cant believe that the top 3 or 4 teams in senior 3.5 were all placed in the same flight.

It was obvious to everyone from the beginning that HP and GH were the two top teams. It would not take a genius to put them in separate flights. another in a long list of DTA screwups

  7. TBM wins the 4.0 as they lose the first set in ALL three lines and then come back to win it.

Oak Creek beats Village as the out of town ringers cannot attend.

Good luck to all make Dallas proud!

  8. Congrats to T-Bar M, well deserved. We gave you a run for the money yesterday with all 3 lines going to a 3rd set breaker.
With all 3 breakers being close T-Bar winning 10-8 (line 1) winning 10-7 (line 2) & losing 10-7 (line 3). Once again well deserved & best of luck representing Dallas @ Sectionals.

  11. You sound like you prefer the idiot ramblings about whether 3.5 or 4.0 is real tennis or who's sandbagging rather than some straight up reporting of results and well deserved congratulations for those teams that competed this past weekend.

  13. D Rasor – The Seniors just had their championship and all it can generate is 12 bogus posts including your two brain dead posts! Come on! Nothing exciting happened during the championship that can be communicated other than who won it could be posted. You guys are just a bunch of old farts. Wake up dude!

  14. Well, I thought Senior City Championship was excellent tennis at all levels. Also there was good sportmanship across the board and none of the seniors were whinning about ringers or out of level players. I think 99% of those types of complaints are from younger players who just don't get it.

  15. Anonymous from 3:15; this is probably what you're craving so I'll play along. You're probably a mediocre 4.0 who claims to be a 4.5 because that's the cool thing to do; I know you have no game because you don't have the guts to post your name. Happy now??

  16. I’m glad the sandbaggers and ringers grow up and get flushed out by the time they get to the Sr league.

Come on old farts! Let’s get a little more input on what happen this past weekend. Maybe you might be able to get this string up to 20 posts.

  17. The seniors are more mature and don't have to make idiotic comments that waste everyone's time (i.e 7:18 comment). They enjoy the game, camradrie and the competition.

  18. maybe the seniors don't know how to work these new fangled computer thing-a-ma-ba-pers

  19. Ok, so now you are making fun of my dial-up(actually fios). As long as it is just the same type of insults and joking around we do on the court I like this blog.

If you look back at many of the "Seniors" past records you will find alot of them played 5.0 or 4.5 for years. We have a motto that if we don't play hurt we don't play at all.

Several of our players were hurt or out of town for city, but we hung in there. I knew I couldn't win a champions tie-break so I figured out I must win in straight sets. Jim played great and carried the old Buffalo to victory. Dan(recent Brookhaven 4.5 winner) and Owen came through in the clutch as we were tied 1-1 in the deciding match against The Village.

There was some outstanding play and other than my line call on match point (which we replayed) it was some great tennis. There was just the right amount of wind for some great lobs too. (Right Dan?)

Well spring is upon us and funny how the top seniors end up on teams like Branch, High Point, Feldman(ok, they only have the old Buffalo).

Congrats to TBar 4.0 for what must have been quite a final match.
Congrats to Owen Stewart and His Oak Creek Boys. We worked really hard this winter, playing and practicing in adverse conditions at times and come crunch time it payed off.

See Ya at Sectionals in September.
