Combo Wrap Up - Mixed Preview

COMBO

Cancelled?  Postponed?  Lots of complaining? Then, yes, postponed.
I played today and plan to play tomorrow.  Sorry you combo folks didn't.

8.0 18 MIXED

I hear there is a city playoff in six days but no one seems to have a schedule yet.  At least I haven't found one.  Can anyone else provide some insight?

  1. Not sure when 8.0 but Tony Le will dominate in 7.0. He beat Alzuro team 3-0 a few weeks ago. Alzuro has a very solid 3.5 female in Paxton who lost in a close one but other lines were blowouts. Raja won his in 45 minutes. Tony best captain around!!

    1. Raja, Tony and Alzuro should team up. That would be the ultimate brain trust trifecta.

      Delete
    2. Paxton playing 8.0. Sorry Alzuro.

Springpark will get beat by Le in finals of 7.0. In 8.0, SpringPark, I mean High Point will win. SpringPark, I mean Huffins will come in second. Both teams are full of SpringPark members and players on the Nationals teams from last year that got screwed by a bias committee.

    3. Toni can have his players cheat on ratings with the best of them. It doesn't take a good captain when you have 3.5's that were 4.5 's and you self rate foreign players 1 to 2 points out of level.

It's more sneakiness then good captain. But, hats off to him. He had be some one of the most successful cheaters in just a few short years.

    4. If you ain't cheating u ain't winning!

  2. DTA waiting to post 8.0 schedule around Brookhaven"s best day player availability. Whichever day next weekend they can field their strongest team that's when DTA will have playoffs. Sadly that is the truth, trust me.

  3. Both Dallas teams will win Sectionals

    1. Well odds are the past 10 years if Kelley on roster you are headed to nationals. He may try and take FW to a national title since he has already won a 18's national title for Dallas

      Delete
    2. Kelly playing for FW.
      Dallas team not Committed
What will Alan do. He captaining High Point and plays on Hufffins which team will he want to win? It's all up to Alan.
      Alan so Slick.

      Delete
    3. Kelley will prob play Dallas since FW lost two matches to bad teams and his Dallas team went 9-0. Kelley goes 14-0 with both and 32-0 dating back to spring. He is headed to nationals again in November and if he was to win 18's again would have to stay in California two weeks for 40 and 18. If Dallas team had Ksthy Paxton I think they win nationals again

      Delete
    4. Rumor swirling around id Dallas 8.0 high point will lose on purpose so they can put together a 40's team that would destroy everyone. Davis, Kelly, white, Alan, Paxton, Shitzu, Kuehne and Raja

    1. Too much bad blood from two top strategic captains.

  5. Why would there be bad blood? ALZERO couldn't hold Tony"s ... Uh.... Racket bag

  6. Does the DTA even care how much time I've invested tanking matches to keep my rating down? How dare they cancel 1 of the only 2 events all year where results don't count towards ratings and I don't have to lose to players that can't hit a backhand.

    1. Who won combo guys? I was out of town this weekend but saw weather was beautiful here Sat and Sunday. Great tennis weather.

      Delete
    2. Sisk won for 4th straight year, Queensley in second.

      Delete
    3. DTA had better places to be so they changed the weekend until Tri-Level weekend.

      Delete
    4. Yes, brilliant move to play combo and trilevel same weekend. And yes I did see them depositing a large chunk of change into their bank Friday afternoon and coming out if the bank laughing and patting each other on the back and were overheard saying " we screwed Kelley again! Let's move combo to Trilevel week since he has won tri twice and combo once!"... Bwahajha

      Delete
    5. What's ironic is Kelley would have missed combo being out of town all weekend but now Sisk has him avail. Question is does he pick tri or combo?lets see.. Indian wells or Waco... Hmmmm. Tough choice

      Delete
    6. Waco is cheaper. I wouldn't bring my wife or daughter with the Baylor football team so close.

  7. Might be time for another Hilter parity of Dallas tennis.

  9. Funny as he'll video parody about Kelley!!! Is there a more polarizing figure in tennis other than Kelley?!! Frankly it's impressive what he has done and won considering every time an opponent steps on the court they want to beat the crap out of him. He always gets their best shot and still dominates. He is def a rare breed. That video is priceless!!! Can someone please tell blog who made it???

  11. How long until BH figures out when their mixed players are available?

    ReplyDelete
  12. They will let the DTA know but I bet any amount of money they play it Saturday instead of Sunday bec most of the country club members play social tennis and drink on Sundays

    ReplyDelete
  13. It's always been on Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Nobody knocks us out of cities 13 years in a row. NOBODY!
    Brooke Haven

    ReplyDelete
  15. High Point (Springpark) won't knock out Brookhaven. huffins will. Of coarse, you could call them Springpark. 3 out of the 6 playing are Springpark members.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Huffines (Springpark) will beat Crookhaven and then High Point (Springpark) will play Huffines (Speingpark) . The other Speingpark team went 0-9. Basically three of the nine teams were Speingpark teams. Total dominance

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 1-8. The beat Carlson team from Greenhill. Alan told us we had to or he would kick us out of the club.

      Delete
    2. After you beat them did they try to get you suspended w the help of the DTA?

      Delete
  17. Funny after 15 years they still continue to dominate mixed. Maybe the most prolific club in the US when it comes to mixed. Hats off to Alan A! ! !

    ReplyDelete
  18. Put it in 3 inch headlines:
"We will beat Brookhaven in the first round".
    Take that to the bank.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Kelly not playing Dallas
    He playing FW :-)

  22. Mixed playoff schedules are out.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes, a friend of mine who is a member at Brookhaven help make them. And there Wil also be a USTA official flying in from New York to keep an eye on Kelley and his head games. He can be defaulted for mind games according to the rules.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If you read rules carefully it states fair and equal play along w court etiquette can be grounds for disqualification. Hogging the court and essentially turning the match into singles can be construed as not equal play and if I personally play him I will file a grievance on that jerk!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If fair play gets you a DQ, Hookhaven and Canyon Creeps should be permanently banned for line calls alone.

      Delete
    2. Kelly takes it both ways.

      Delete
    3. What? No mixed playoffs talk?

      Delete
    4. Only sissies play mixed. Thus the reason no one cares Kelly goes both ways

      Delete
  25. Kelley is a jerk and not one person wants to se him win. I hope he know how much people hate him. Everyone I have talked to had nothing to say but bad about him.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Talk to the people on his team. We love us some Mike. If he's on your team, you see all the bs that other people do and say.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Obviously Kelley posting above ^ @ 7:56

    2. Kelley will eventually have a bad match. No one can continue at the rate he has. He hasn't dropped a set in 8.0 or 9.0 this year! If our team advances I will just assume today is the day he chokes! Why not look at it that way. I firmly believe I am a better mixed player even though I have never been to nationals.

      Delete
  31. At least he will show up. There will be one unnamed player from a country club who will skip out again! Guaranteed!

    ReplyDelete
  32. What time does the Tony Le national team play?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't know, but his losing team played at 2:00. Haha. Another super team doesn't play their best players and gets beat. Cheaters don't always win.

But l, they do at 8.0. Huffins (Springpark) beat Brookhaven 3-0 and the high point (Springpark) beat huffins (Springpark) 3-0.

The big question know is does Kelly play sectionals out of ft worth or Dallas.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kelly never ceases to amaze. He pulled a win out somehow against a VERY SOLID team. The guy just seems to play well enuff to win and that team w gene and Sam will be a force. Not sure what happened to Tonys team but his lineup was not what anyone expected, very weak.

  38. We not have no chuck lee and no raja kanchari. We best them easily with those two.

    1. Why no Kanchi? I thought he was there this weekend. Is he hurt?

    2. Alzuro team fight hard today.

      They deserve to win.

Pearson cried like a baby BIG BABY

      Delete
    3. Keith Clark was the only player from Tony team that was sportsman like yesterday after Alzuro shocked everyone with there win.

      Delete
    4. After seeing tony Le"s lineup that was really not a shocker. Seems tony and his crew decided to not play 3 of their top 6 players. I am on that team and we would not have been able to field a team at sectionals so we let everyone play.

      Delete
  39. 11:11 pm is zacry

  40. Kanchi was at tourney with me. He would destroy any of the team from Alzero. Just like the first time they played

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Why would he play a Waco tourney on a playoff weekend? Dick move! Most selfish player in Dallas history.

      Delete
    2. A few of his teammates feel the same way.

      Delete
  41. Isn't this 2 years in a row that Toni's team didn't show up at cities? And people say he's the best captain. I guess he can't motivate his team's to commit. You spend all that time tanking, lying on self rates, and you can't get them to show up when it matters.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Tony is best captain. How can you get on here and say it was his fault. He had half his best team either hurt or raja was playing a tourney. He can't beg people to play. Give the guy a break. Damn

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Screw tony and screw Kelly! Glad the cheaters got beat!!!

      Delete
    2. I good captain makes sure his players are committed to play and explains to them when cities and sectionals are played.

      Delete
  43. Actually whoever captained high point to 8.0 sweep was best captain. They swept a damn good huffines team. One of their teams was unbeatable

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Alan captained the high point team. Why do you think he didn't play in the final match.

      Delete
    2. Because he also captains his kids volleyball teams and enjoys coaching his daughter instead of wasting his time w tennis that he does every day as a job

      Delete
  44. Kelley was a big jerk knowing he had won 2-0 already he wouldn't even default or let his opponent win the tiebreaker. Selfish player to keep playing just to win a meaningless match! J E R K

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ha. Mike lets his opponents win= People angry
Mike doesn't let his opponents win= People
    Angry

Seems nothing will stop the hate.. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  46. Read my post again. All I am saying is Kelley COULD have let his opponents take the win so that they could win a playoff match and forever say they went undefeated in a mixed season. Kelly handed him his first loss. Kid played at Abilene Christian AND won a state mixed doubles title as well in high school so he was a very solid player. I think he deserved to win yesterday as well even by default because he and his opponents had never lost.

    ReplyDelete
  47. And losing 2-1 as opposed to 3-0 makes a difference????? Pleeeeez

    1. The best team lost but that can happen occasionally. It is very very to stay at the top but Tony will be back. He had to play with his C team.

  50. Always a good weekend when he makes playoffs and at least wasn't sitting home prob like your team. Tony cannot be blamed when he is not playing. Nobody wins every year so keep practicing and eventually you might play our 7.0 team in playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  51. yes, kanchi decided to play a tourney instead of be available for mixed cities even though tony told him he was needed. but he also said he was too good to play 7.0. huge ego. if he isn't captaining you can't count on him.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He is too good to play 7.0. Go look at what he did to Rene's team last time. He won his match easily. Look it up on Tennislink. 7.0 has 3.0 men and women playing. So much hate on this blog it's sickening. I played Raja this year in a 7.0 league match and I agree 7.0 is a waste of his time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. he beat a guy on rene's team that was a bad 3.5. of course he won.

      Delete
  53. Kanchi a stud, he should only be playing with 4.5 men

    ReplyDelete
  54. Kanchi playing 8.0 for Kelly.. They have no depth after Kelly Gene Sam

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They have Ronnie Turtle. He self rated wrong a few years ago. I'm surprised no one has busted him yet. Left as a 5.0, came back and self rated 4.5. Against the rules.

      Delete
    2. Tuttle playing 9.0

      Delete
  55. They don't need it. Only wanted to keep any local team from advancing. They will tank at sectionals so they can put together a 40 and over 8.0 behemoth monster team. Rumor was they just were trying to keep certain teams from advancing. And it would be easy to guess. They succeeded in that as usual.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am sure they did. Gene Kelley and Sam on same team? Good luck beating that. Freaking Kelley going to his 23rd sectional. That right there should be grounds for suspension!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kanchi told me he was better than all three.

      Delete
    2. He migh be better than all 3 all I have to say is I blogged a year or so ago that Kelley was only winning all these matches and dominating etc. when he played w one of Alan's 4.0 tank down 3.5"s. I take it back. I am sure the lady he played with in the playoffs is very nice but he won that match by himself. And against a team that really had no weakness. Talking to people watching they said Kelly's male opponent was 6-1 at Abilene Christian and won a STATE mixed title in high school. That is no small feat. The female opponent was no 3.5. IMO a team capable of playing 9.0. Anyway, I take back what I said (I still don't like Kelley) but winning that match I now admit he has some skills even w a far weaker partner.

      Delete
    3. BS! Only reason Kelley won was luck and experience. The kid is 26 years old and already played a match and was tired and has not played in big matches before. As usual Kelley got LUCKY!!!!!

      Delete
    4. He played half a match. Brookhaven retired half way into the match. The men aren't use to playing outside.

      Delete
  57. I don't know Kanchi to know if he is better but I can say the 7.0 tennis I watched over the weekend looked like beginner tennis. The woman can't move and the guys overhit everything. 7.0 mixed almost looks like a beginners doubles clinic so I don't blame him for not playing.

    3. If raja plays he wins any of the lines ALZERO put out there. They needed him and Lee. ALZERO was without his best 3.5 as well so I guess both teams had their b lineups. The Paxton lady going to 3.5 nationals

    4. Raja is the Kelley of 7.0 mixed

  58. If you have to keep talking about 7.0 mixed please do it here. I for one can't take it anymore so I started a new thread.
