Let the Games Begin - 18 and over starts this weekend

I'm ready to play, coach.

Now it's time for the real tennis to start.  Bring on the kids.  Let's see what we have for this weekend.

5.0+ (yes, the chart keeps going above 5.0) has one 10 team flight.  Wow, 10 teams.  That has to be a recent record.  There are several good matchups in week one but for the Match of the Week I'm going with Greenhill/Rossouw versus TBar/Bartzen.  TBar has the wild card from the fall so let's see how strong they decide to come out this spring.

4.5 A - This flight is a 4.0 city playoff reunion.  Almost all of these teams are 4.0 bump up squads.  Greenhill/Rossouw better run away with this flight.  Samuell Grand/Hanna versus McKinney/Jett is a mid-market undercard for week one.

4.5 B - Lakes/Way versus Oak Creek/Herget-Clark is MOW for this flight.  And it's easily the hardest flight when you take these two and add JCC/Reiman, Brookhaven/Harllee and Lifetime/Arcaria.  Whoever makes is out of here will be battle tested.

4.5 C - For MOW here I like SpringPark/Aguilar versus Village/Valentin.  SpringPark was my surprise pick in this flight so let's see how they get started.

4.0 A - Match of the Week for week one overall may be the match of the season in 4.0 with McKinney/Kanchi and High Point/Somabut squaring off on week one.  These were two of my early favorites for Dallas city champions and after the first week one of them will have a loss.  Big stakes so early.  I'm going with the fall champs out of McKinney in this one.

4.0 B - Easily of the most interest in this flight will be Brookhaven/Bartlett versus Huffines/Ratcliffe.  Again, someone starts off with a loss early.

4.0 C - in a QT battle, Huffines/Jayaram faces McKinney/Oh in week one.  Is it just me or did everyone USTA men's team leave Fretz?

4.0 D - not much of interest here for the first week, but we'll watch McKinney/Bazan versus Seay/Jacob for grins.

  1. Rumor is Kelley might return to play for Springpark Aguilar after his suspension. If he does he makes that team the favorite, if not they are still solid, but if he plays (and tries), they are up 1-0

  2. I think the DTA made the return date fall where he couldn't be eligible for a return in men's for 2016

  3. The hard-on for Kelley continues. ..

  4. Your friend must have lost

  5. Nash would beat Kelly by the score Nash chooses.

  6. Guess Nash chose to lose that day. It was TCD so Nash was probably tanking

  7. Nash will beat him next time. He prob just had a bad day. No way he would lose to kelley twice! Nash close to 5.5, Kelley going to be 4.0

    1. Expect Kelley to tank next match to offset that win. That's his MO

    2. LOL...KELLY LOST TODAY. Glad he made the time to get on here and say to expect him to dump hours after his loss. And he lost to a guy just bumped up to 4.5.

    3. I am telling you Kelly is headed to 4.0. The USTA even looked at his TCD record after he appealed. Kelly is no dummy, after beating Cameron Nash he was told he better dump the next match. Funny how these people "buy" his losses. That's the reason he is able to fleece the DTA. When will you people wake up??!!!

    4. Don't know how I just found this....but I play open TCD with my 3.5 mother soooo, if Kelley wants to play singles, or go toe to toe in the parking lot, that would be enjoyable

  9. Any predictions on how FW Hurst Mayhem 4.5 and DALLAS Garland Sisk 4.5 will do this year? I predict Mayhem to go 1-39 on lines played and Sisk to edge them out at 2-38.

agree w you. If you think he is not looking at the big picture you people are ignorant. Example: he destroys Steve Miller and Justin Huffman bec Miller is a FW league coordinator yet he is 0-4 against everyone I don't understand how the league can't see this. This guy will be a 4.0 just to jerk with the system. READ THIS DTA!

  11. If he gets to 4.0 there would be an uprising in this city like you have NEVER seen. I thinks the DTA and FWTA will bond together and manipulate his rating before that happens. However if it does happen I expect him to be suspended again so prob wonts matter. guy should suspended on national appearances alone. shoulda be a limit

  12. look people. Enuff. This is a 4.5 men's 18's post. Pleas keep it that way. Did the Village play SP yet? Anyone know? Btw Kelley hasn't won a national title in 2 weeks, let's give it a rest

    1. Why would you say Sisks cheeting?? Basiclly a roster of 4.0's who were move to 4.5. They are not going to win even if trying. Same every year. Sisk not trying to be comptetive so lets his team play and drink beer for heavens sake. some people mean in this town
