Champions often rise and fall with the bottom of the roster

Play me or I will share your weaknesses with your enemies

You didn't get him enough playing time at sectionals last year.  You owe him for bringing over one of your best players.  He runs down other team members thinking he can get more playing time.  He just plain nags the shit out of you until you put him in the lineup.  Yeah, that guy.

You hope for weak matches and good partners.  Maybe a default at cities would come his way.  Would that be enough?  What about if he actually thinks he's good?  The rest of the team literally holds their breath when he's serving in a tie breaker.  At least he got to a tie breaker, maybe that will help down the line.  But he knows about the secret path that would allow your enemies to overrun you so you can't just send him packing.  The yearly trials and tribulations of captaining.

This is never a bigger issue than a three line event like tri-level.  There is very little margin for error, particularly when everyone else has ringers too.  There's an old saying that goes keep your friends close but your enemies closer.  The hard part is you aren't really sure which he is, or which he will become.  It's a day to day, week to week exercise and it changes constantly.  And he holds a grudge.

How you handle this guy can effect your team long after the event is over.

  1. Wow...you just described Zackary to the T. I now know your true identity.

Murray Langston has to be John Sisk or Alan A. Could it be that he is the devil himself, Mike K.

  2. I don't know about Zakary but it describes at least two guys on my team.

  3. Zackary average 4.0 Kelly Average 4.5
NOHO wins tri-level. Kelly to old to win this year.

    1. Zackary tells me he is a good 4.5.

    2. He may be an average 4.5, but his mental game is a 3.0. He's not even in the same breath as the other 4.0's on the tri level team. I think he helped make the team by adding the 3.5's. That's the only reason he's on the team.

    3. What was his playoff record last year? Looks better than 3.0!

    4. If he gets down, he quits and then reports you to Todd Reed for being out of level. Ask Toni and his team about it.

    5. good point. Zakery can win at 4.0, he cannot at 4.5. He is second to lowest 4.0 on the trilevel team but did bring some 3.5's on board. He will get back to 4.0 for next year where he belongs. Whats funny is he is the 11th best player on the trilevel team.

    7. At Nationals Zackary went 9-0 so he somewhat good I would think but he not the best Sisk has that would be Faris

    10. zacry was benched in big matches vs Le and vs Houston in trilevel. He is good 4.0 but not a player a captain will go to in the finals. Rigney didn't even think he was in the top 8 versus Le. And yes he was lucky to be on Sisk trilevel bec he forced his way on it. What is funny is Rigney and Zaccry both think they are better than each other. Both need to get back to 4.0 and will.

    11. zakry put that team together that why he on it.
I heard he introduce John and Wayne.
That the only reason he on that team. not because he a good 4.0

    15. NOHO hasn't a chance. This is Sisk's to lose. With the brains of Sisk, Rigney and Zackary, what could possibly go wrong?

    16. 7:19, if you put it that way I have to say NOHO does have it in the bag. Still think even Sisk could not mess up.

  5. damn i wish I was old and average like Kelley and cant win anymore. Guess he should just quit playing and let others go to nationals since he is just taking up space. Just disqualify him too, might as well. He cant move and prob won't get in a match at Trilevel. Alan A even knows he is finished so he prob told DTA to ban him so he didnt have to tell him his skills were gone and couldnt make the team. Oh well, maybe a 7.0 team will take him someday.

  6. Ask Tiny about playing time. Dude sat me out because he has better volleyball skills supposedly. If he plays himself at Tri Levels he's gonna get a rude awakening. He's notorious for what he pulled in 2013. Nobody will ever forget that.

  7. It just shows how good captains play the best players not themselves. Learn from the best and be happy that you "coach" the winning team. Sit back and bring the beer and let the tankers that you recruited win

  10. What do expect from our tennis ASSociation. If canyon creek or Brookhaven isn't the team involved, they just don't care. It's been that way for a few years now. Why should we expect anything different. Just shut up and hand us your $$$$.

And if you win to much, we will figure out a way to screw you over.

    1. I wonder if Hookhaven or Canyon Cheat won too much if the DTA would be difficult on them? Some things we will never know.

  11. Don't you read the fine print? It is a privilege for you to receive a tri-level schedule from the DTA. At any point, with or without notice, the DTA reserves the right to discontinue distributing schedules for any or all events.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Won't matter on the schedule, cowtown wins

    ReplyDelete
  13. The funny part is that the dta doesn't care if they are hated or if they do a good job. They know they are the only game in town and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it. We are all screwed if we want a fair and balanced organization. They are the Fox News of tennis. Say one thing, but do another.

    ReplyDelete
  14. You will never get a fair shake from the DTA if you win and are not a country club. Manual bump ups, bogus suspensions, counting as qualified when disqualified, etc. they are a joke but they don't care bec the big clubs are happy about being able to compete now w out Kelly and company, period.

  15. Hook haven playing SP today in 8.0. What will be funny if they lose to Sp after going to all the trouble to get Kelly out of 8.0. Will be interesting to see if the guy who manipulated Kelleys rating plays today. If you can't beat SP now you won't ever be able to. No Kelly, no Davis, no Alan. Hook haven should be proud to get a "W" today.

  16. Lacy might actually win a match today.

  17. LOL. The Springpark dynasty is over and there is a new sheriff in town! Brookhaven sweeps SP 3-0. Your tankin cheating Kelley was too much of a puss to play! Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  18. What a dumb ass. Kelly can't play he's suspended. Look at the roster for Springpark. Except for the Walters, none of the players have been on a past Springpark mixed team. The Springpark run was over as soon as the dta let the suspension stand up after the evidence against the other team starting all the drama at last years match was not even allowed to be heard. Brookhaven should win this year and then get killed in sectionals. Just like Carlson Greenhill team last year. But, I beat Springpark 7.0 could give briokhavens 8.0 one hell of a match. I have also heard that Springpark will have a pretty good 18's 8.0 team. Of coarse they have to play all their matches away. No home matches allowed R for 8.0. Which is another dta first. How can you van a club from hosting a team. I know you will say because they cheat, but high point host more tanking and cheating teams for men's then any other club. But, the dipsh!t tennis ASSociation would never do anything to high point. They bring in to much $$$$. Let's see what happens this summer.

Don't count out the 40's team yet. Brookhaven has to beat them 2 more times.

    1. Now that SP/Abbruzzese 40+ 8.0 has new players we find out if it's Alan's expert captaining and intense mixed practices that garnered them so much success, or whether it was the fact that their rosters were filled with blatant tankers.

Brookhaven doesn't have to beat SP 2 more times, they play them 2 more times...they only have to beat them once.

      Delete
    2. I am on the 8.0 team and we are not practicing. It is just for fun.

      Delete
    3. Give me a break. Every SP mixed team is always just for fun until they win something and then it was always the plan. They are too scared to say they are actually trying in case they get beat.

      Delete
    4. So now former 8.0 SP player is trashing current 8.0 SP players as being worse than 7.0 players? Well at least we didn't manage to get our club suspended from hosting home matches.

      Delete
    5. No, your club managed to get SP suspended from home matches

      Delete
    6. No trashing. It's the truth. Alan told us that last year was going to be his last year to captain and play. He didn't work on setting up teams for this year for winning nationals. It's an all member team that just wanted to have fun. The 18's 8.0 will be the same why. Just for fun. He is working on next years team.

      Delete
    7. Everything points toward Alan telling the truth. He did not play 7.0 over the weekend and if he did he would have won. He is not taking it too serious but that 7.0 team may be the best one he has ever had.

      Delete
    8. I'm on Alan 7.0 team and we practice every Wednesday. Alan is taken 7.0 to nationals. He's 8.0 is for fun. I'm sure he would invite other people to play with us on Wednesdays at noon. He's asked people to come play 8.0 for years to give us practice. But no one has ever replied to do so. I'm sure they won't reply for 7.0 either.

      Delete
  19. You don't make a dynasty in one season. Brookhaven has been a doormat for years. Let's just admit Alan a damn good captain and freaking Kelley best mixed player around. If you are Brookhaven just be glad you conspired w canyon creek and the Dta to get a bogus suspension so you could win a league. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What's funny is teams get SP disqualified, get excited and get to sectionals thinking they will go to nationals and then they don't even win a match. See green hill team after their bogus complaint. They got their ass handed to them at sectionals. I think that is what makes Alan's teams even more impressive getting to nationals so many times. What I see from Alan and SP is if they don't make it to nationals the season was a bust. Brookhaven happy just to win one city league match against them against a team of basically 7.0 caliber. Realize know that SP has been eligible for nationals 11 times in 7 years. They skipped one in Hawaii, were DQ'd from one and possibly 3 more bec the suspension lasted a year. If not for the 3 person national rule that was put in place because of them this team would make the Patriots look like a little league team. Hell, Kelly even qualified and went with Ft Worth to nationals last year after putting that team on his back. His national attendance is off the chart gaudy. Anyway, looks like they are getting bored and possibly looking like their runs are coming to an end but WOW! Sit back and look what Alan has done and just congratulate him. When you see Mike K, and everyone saying he is old and injured, also tell him "way to go man! You and Alan put Texas on the map in mixed and their will be no other dynasty that comes close"!

    ReplyDelete
  21. They are doing something right at SP as they are hated but admired. As a registered psychiatrist it is true that when a majority of "wanna be's" so to speak denounce and detract from others successes that they too are full of jealousy and contempt. I know nothing about tennis or what it means to go to nationals all the time but for what it's worth it seems Springpark is doing something remarkable or this many people wouldn't be complaining and bitching.

Can't legally state my name bec Kelley is one of my clients.

  24. Tony Le handed a cupcake draw. Sisk will have to beat Wild Dallas, NOHO and then Tony Le in finals to win the event. Fortunately they have one guy "whose name we don't mention". Funny how people saying this guy is done but he is the only one out there w a trilevel championship resting on the mantle. ooops forgot, he is too old and can't compete any more.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I called the DTA and the draw is not out and won't be posted until Wednesday. There is NO WAY IN HELL FW would have to beat all three of those teams mentioned while Tiny (cheatin) Le only has to win one tough match. After the stunt he pulled at trilevel 2013 w fake scores and matches I cant believe they would do that anyway. He pulled me to play and the organizer asked me if a match was played and I told them no. With his laundry list of faking scores, introducing a person as another, helping lie on self rate forms, tanking to lose matches and organizing a huge tri level cheating scheme no way does he get an EZ draw.

    1. Agree with 4:47. If that is true I will concede the DTA and USTA hate Kelley worse than what we thought. They were sickened enough by him taking the crown in 2013 so its possible they "had a random drawing for a schedule..wink.wink" and that is how it turned out. Make no mistake, they will see to it he never gets back to nationals again.

      Delete
    2. I call Freemun. The draw is not out. I beleeve him bec he prob has a hand in making it.

    3. Toni does all of that, yet nothing is done to him or high point as a club. Just more proof you can lie and cheat but as long as you don't have mike Kelly, all is forgiven and actually praised by the dta.

    4. The draws were sent from USTA Austin to the local tennis associations on Monday at 1:26pm. The DTA sent it to the Dallas captains this morning. My captain emailed it to me so I'm looking at it now.

      5) NOHO-The Houston Champs plus a few

      The Other Flight

      3) Austin-Not great
      4) San Angelo-Always bad.
