Now that is some blog interest...

While we always hate to hear all of the tanking and cheating talk, it at least brought the blog viewers back.  The stats had nearly a thousand views for today alone and over a thousand yesterday.  I'm not sure what has happened or if anything actually happened.  In the meantime, lets see where everyone stands.

5.0 Jooste and Collins did not disappoint.  Collins laid it to Culley and Jooste and partner laid it to some people I don't know.  As long as these two are in the lineup, I can't see the Village losing.  They will each win their respective lines.

4.5

Flight A:  Reiman knocked out Rossouw in a sweep.  That is making a pretty big statement.  LB Houston and Fretz are still undefeated.  neither have been tested.  Although, Noel plays Rossouw this week.  If Rossouw is still motivated, he can field a mighty good team.  LB has another light week.  I expect Rossouw to win and there are then 2 unbeatens.

Flight B: Oak Creek and Lakes are the only unbeatens.  TBar got beat by the always dangerous Sam Grand.  For those who don't think they are dangerous, just go down there tonight and check them out.  This flight is so ho-hum, it is hard to get excited.

Flight C:  The undefeated Village is in first and Huffhines/Hammond and Greenhill/Alzuro are undefeated.  I am pretty sure the only one that will remain undefeated for any length of time.  The Village knocked off Brookhaven/Harlee and should be good to go the rest of the way.  Harllee and Hammond hook it up this week and Greenhill plays the TBar B Team.  I expect there to be only 1 unbeaten left come Monday.

4.0

Flight A:  There are three undefeated teams.  None of which I picked to be anyone.  Fretz/Noel must not have got the memo that the wildcard is into QT and not city playoffs.  They lost to undefeated Oasis.  I looked at the results and Oasis fielded 5 lines of guys nobody knows.  Oak Creek/Wei-Bin Lai has a lot of guys with names I neither know nor can pronounce.  Last is High Point/Gardner.  They have a lot more guys I don't know.  I still think Fretz wins this flight but that is a bad loss.

Flight B:  High Point is an impressive 10-0 and the play the likely QT representative in Greenhill this week.  Greenhill can beat them if High Point does not take this serious.  Zackary (or is is Zacry, Zackery, Zackrey, Zacrey or whatever you guys call him... he has more spellings than Kelly...  I looked it up; it is Zackary) is probably going to beat anybody High Point has.  Largent is another strong singles guy.  It could be closer than they all think...  Who am I kidding?  High Point sweeps.

Flight C:  McKinney continues to quietly march along.  Oak Creek is the other undefeated.   I couldn't tell you a single player on the Oak Creek roster.  McKinney has a lot of players that have been around a long time.

Flight D:  There are 4 undefeated teams.  Oak Creek and Garland are probably the favorites to win this flight.  Garland plays the Greenhill team I said is someone to watch.  Apparently, I missed that.  Lost a lot of third set tiebreakers so I wouldn't worry too much about them if there was pressure.  Oak Creek gets undefeated Huffhines.  I think Oak Creek drops them.

  1. So Ohl took a notorious tanker and a straight up ringer? So much for Mr. ethics!

  2. I don't care of Ohl signed Zak up or not, but he really needs to stop crying and moaning about other people having tankers if he's gonna play his own. You really can't bitch about other teams doing it and then do it yourself.

    6. if aguilars are smart they will tank a few matches again to keep rating. If match was played w no ratings on the line ohl team would get pounded. Tony and his gang will keep it close. Tony knows what he is doing, might even let zackary win his match

    7. quackery a good player, he is not a ringer and nowhere near a 4.5 player. he cannot take over a match when he wants, that defines a ringer.

  3. High Point Gardner has some talent with Stormy, Wah, Sothea that could win any line at singles, Jenkins is solid at doubles player. I think they can win this line.

    1. I would not vote for McKinney, unless his new guys are some ringers. Like Murray mentioned their players that have been around for a long time. But Bazan will play some of his usual guys which will hurt them in the playoffs. If he can avoid playing himself and couple of his regulars in playoff, they might have a shot at sectionals depending on how good their other guys are.

    2. looks like they recently added ashby also. he is a major headache but worth it and can win matches. by regulars you must mean muniz - bazan will need to drop him in playoffs if he wants his team to advance

  8. It is crazy how hypocritical Ohl and Zackary are.

Zackary is the biggest tanker in all of Dallas tennis besides Kelly and he tries blasting the Aguilars when he has never seen them play. He even went to the USTA and reported them. Now that is funny. Todd Reed taking advice from the biggest tanker in Dallas tennis. Im just curious how Zackary is able to play 40+ tennis.

Ohl and the GH hypocrites. They whine and whine about Zackary at 40+ cities. Arnette is out there yelling and complaining the entire time and now they sign Zackary. Pathetic. Reminds me of Canyon Creek. You guys all bitch, but you all do the same thing given the opportunity. You will never compete with Le. Clark, Sisk, Bender.

  9. I heard Zachary begged to play on the Le team. He doesn't get on the team so he reports players to the USTA? How does this guy play 40+ because his actions are only something a 15 year old would do.

  10. to 10: 50, you are absolutely correct.

if he is smart, he will keep his mouth shut and find a team kelley is playing on and ride that wave to nationals. kelley can single handidly put a team on his back, so jump on his band wagon. Ohl team going nowhere. however, not sure I agree todd reed taking advice from anyone. i dont think you can keep a guy from playing 40's just because he reports someone to the usta though

  14. Carlos Aguilar has to be the most blatant tanker ever to be reported to the USTA. He went from being uncompetitive at 4.0 to winning multiple open division major zone tournaments and playing a close match against a 5.5 / 6.0 team within a few months.

If Todd and co. don't step in and do something about this you might as well write tanking into the USTA by-laws as they will never have a more obvious opportunity to take a stand against it.

    2. That is a great rags to riches story. When does C.A. make his debut in the Spring 4.0 League?

    3. C.A. lost 5 & 2 vs Jooste (5.5) / Papp (6.0) while playing with a 4.5 partner. C.A. never got 5 games during any set of his 5 4.0 matches. Those are both facts.

      Delete
    4. Papp was a top 50 NCAA player. What 4.0 team doesn't have a guy that is competitive with a 6.0 that was in the top 50 in the NCAAs? I play them all the time at 4.0.

    5. While one might think Papp is better with those credentials. Jooste actually has a better resume. He was a top 25 NCAA player and a former Baylor number 1.

    2. Ditto for Arcaria at 4.0.

    3. Zackocrap is a weirdo.

    4. Aguilars tank to beat up on lesser players and thus boost their self esteem since there is nothing they can do to make up for being short and fat.

    6. why the disbelief on Alarid? he is a 4.0. Go look at his mens results and even his TCD results if you want to get picky.. Hell, he even got steam rolled by kelly 1 and 1. maybe thats why he stays at 4.0, few more beatings like that he will be 3.5 since mixed counts a little toward ratings I think.

      Delete
    7. TCD mixed counts towards ratings? Are you completely retarded or just partially?

You have a race to the appeal button and the first one there gets an automatic 3.5 rating, who wins, Kelly, Zachary, or Alarid? Will not include Aguilar since he's already there, and couldn't outrun those 3 anyhow.

      Delete
    8. funny post 8;52!!
anyway, kelly outruns most anyone on a tennis court but I would say Zackary. USTA will bump kelley up to 5.5 before 3.5. Aguilar and zakary safe because they haven't really won anything yet. Alarid lurking a close second but will take a few years to get there, then Alzero will be asking him to play.

The captains all know this, most guys who play enough usta know this, so much wine here im getting drunk, stopping ragging on the capts or players who know what they need to do to get the dance. Yes, it sucks that people manage their results or scores to stay or bump down, but this will always happen, getting better if you really want to play. How can they not do anything. If they don't dq him, it shows they really don't care. After bumping up Kelly manually a few years ago, shouldn't they at least try to be consistent. 41. Difference is there is not enought interest in the 4.0 captains or 3.5 captains to dq him. Roussow knew that Kelley playing as a 4.5 would keep any team he captained from winning so he went out and got support from men's teams captains and mixed teams captains and got him bumped up. Kelley was winning everything he played. Aguilar has won nothing so far and is 11 national appearances short of Kelley so he is no threat right now, especially to russouw (who still has won nothing). I do agree however that the DTA not doing anything about this is incredulous. Not enuff people have complained about this guy and so far he has been able to fly under the radar. When he starts winning and knocking teams out of sectionals year after year like Kelly has done to Brookhaven and canyon creek and others you will see something done. Probably another manual bump up.
