Looks like outside of Alzuro, there is no longer an
interest in the Junior Tri. They should probably
just eliminate it all together given last year’s Sectionals was the best of 3
matches played against 2 teams (Dallas and SETX). Why bother, and looks like that will be the
case this year since Dallas has no teams.
So the pursuit of real Tri -Level
First, to clarify why there is such a pursuit of putting
together a team that can advance. As
other tournaments, the winner of City goes on to play Sectionals. As far as the USTA and ratings are concerned,
that is it. It is a misconceived
perception that Tri Level goes to a USTA Sanctioned National event. IT DOES NOT.
That is why you will never find anything in tennislink beyond Sectionals
for Tri Level.
There is a National event, but it is sponsored and run by
the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, completely independent and outside of the USTA,
called the Tri-Level Invitational Championships. Well, I say independent. Acutally, the players are chosen by taking the Sectional winners from the USTA Tri-Level Tournament, and our local Section helps support the team and their registration. But it is not sanctioned, and it does not count towards ratings.
Tom Fey, IWTG’s Tennis Director, runs the
tournament and does a fabulous job. He
sponsors the event during the final weekend of the BNP Paribas Open, and
provides players with tickets to the Quarters, Semis, and Finals of the BNP
Paribas matches. Nice little perk. The winner is then acknowledged center court
in-between matches if network scheduling allows (which is not always the case). This is IWTG’s way of marketing directly to
the top recreational tennis players around the country, and saying thanks for being a part of the game. Now you see why teams are vying to win this thing?
Now that that is clear, who will be going and representing
Dallas?
In prior years, Dallas typically would have their 2
strongest teams go, as Fort Worth Tri-Level was used as an outlet to have
another Dallas team make. This year, Dallas
has all of their guns playing locally. Dallas
typically gets a Wild-Card so that means the two top teams will go. Or does it?
From the looks of it, I have to give nod to Pickett and
Le for having the 2 strongest rosters. However,
what happens if they land in the same flight?
From my understanding and past discussions with the DTA,
it is a blind draw when it comes to tournaments like this. You could possibly have a flight that has Le,
Pickett, Sisk and McHugh all in one flight.
I would say those are the top 4 teams, and it would be an injustice to
the tournament to have them all flighted together. However, it could happen.
What it does do is open the door for teams playing out of
Fort Worth. Looks like Pickett was going
to initially go that route (registering for a team) but elected to play
Dallas. Le has also done so in the past,
but has decided to go head-to-head in the Dallas tournament. Fort Worth’s tournament isn’t until December,
so plenty of time to get a roster together if you want to make a trip to
Houston for Sectionals.
That leads me to my next question, will it matter who wins
Dallas given the strength of Freeman’s 4.0s and 4.5s ? Personally, I still like Dallas’s chance
because I think our city has stronger 3.5s, and like it or not, that is
typically the determining line. 4.5 and
4.0 is so competitive and close, anything can happen and usually wins come down
to 3rd set breakers. With 3.5
secured, it makes a tri-level win much easier.
Those our my thoughts.
What are yours?
Each of the top teams has strengths ands weaknesses at different levels. Pickett has Kelly, which is a great starting point, but his 4.0s are suspect. Le has the best balanced team. McHugh has good balance but just a half stamp back on the talent. Should make for a fun event. And if the DTA is listening, Pickett and Le will have the best teams so don't screw this thing up.
ReplyDeletemeaning what on DTA screwing up?
DeleteThey are trying to say that they should be put in opposite flights so they can both make the finals and get a trip to sectionals if there is the usual wildcard for Dallas. Random draw of teams should be done with captains allowed to watch the draw publically. There are no seeds.
DeletePickett team wins 4.5 line, LE wins 3.5 and 4.0. My money on LE to win 2-1
ReplyDeleteLe wins 4.0. Pickett wins 3.5 and 4.5 is a tossup. Pickett will be missing Jason Moore.
ReplyDeleteNot having Moore does hurt but he did lose a match at sectionals, not having Kelly will kill them. Looking at last year looks like he won every city, sectional and national match he played.BTW, what is junior Tri????
DeleteJunior Tri is the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 Tri-Level. It only advances to Sectionals. The winner does not get to go to Indian Wells. In prior years, it would draw 5 or 6 teams.
DeleteWho will play in moore's spot?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for one more good 4.5 player for my Ft Worth Tri team.
ReplyDeleteShoot me an email if your interested.
klameckihouse@yahoo.com
Can u play Dallas and ft worth?
DeleteNo
DeleteLast year Pickett was a lock at 4.5 & 3.5 but not now. You don't ever bet against Kelly but without Moore it will be a lot tougher. Le should win the 4.0 line unless he gets talked into playing the wrong guys.
ReplyDeleteI think LE will win this year. At some point w the law of averages Kelley will have a bad match. The streak he is on is pretty amazing but has to come to an end and I think this will be when it is broken. LE 4.5 team is unbeatable.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately they were a little beatable at sectionals at all three levels but that was mostly a Houston issue. Maybe this is his year in Dallas
DeleteThis doesn't count towards your ranking, Kelly won't get beat. His team may, but he won't.
DeleteNegatory - Tri-level counts towards year-end ranking.
DeleteThat would be new. Never counted before.
DeleteCounts this year. You should not be able to play the year after you win it all.
DeleteTri-level has always counted. It is combo that hasn't counted since you are having players at 2 different levels play together. In tri-level, each doubles pair is at the same level playing the same level, thus the computer picks it up in the ratings.
DeleteMy guess is that if Pickett and Le play on there own teams.... they have no chance!
ReplyDeleteProbably why you don't see them on their own rosters. Dumb A$$ Post
DeleteHopefully since he has been and won nationals already he won't be as eager to go again. Maybe he will spread the wealth..lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, he hates winning
DeleteSisk wins it all.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a hot dog eating contest.
ReplyDeleteHis 4.5 and 4.0 lines dominate.
ReplyDeleteWho won nationals last year?
ReplyDeleteNot sure who win last year. But Le or Sisk win this year. You people think Kelley will go undefeated at trilevel this year, just like last year, just like combo last year, just like combo this year, just like 18 and over mixed, just like 40 and over mixed. No way he can go 6 leagues w out dropping a match. Go Sisk!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how Pickett trilevel team will fare as his best 4.5s Kelly, Takashi, and Hai can't seem to win any of there matches this season. They must be in really bad form.
ReplyDeleteThey struggle in the cooler fall weather. Tri-Level is usually indoors so the should be better.
DeleteTri level indoors? Really? Last year it was outside.
ReplyDeletePaul and Mike should be a tough combination but Pickett is weak at 3.5 and 4.0. No Keith Clark this year. Le will win it all.
ReplyDeleteI'd check the sectionals and nationals records of Tom and Stephen before I decide Pickett is weak at 3.5. They were a combined 26-2.
DeleteBut Mat Pak II is a 4.5 w a 3.5 rating
DeleteIs Matt Pak I or Matt Pak II playing? I may create a new USTA number with my exact same address and name. When one of you tell Todd Reed, I will ask him about Matt Pak.
DeleteMike and whoever start out w one win. Can Pickett steal one somewhere else? Same plan as last years national winning team. One lock and hope to sneak another.
ReplyDelete1. Le
ReplyDelete2. Sisk ( gets wildcard )
3. Mchugh
4. Pickett
Finals is Le v Pickett
DeleteSisk, McHugh and Kingsley have their chances if the top two go to their B lineups
They will put Le and Pickett on same side of draw bec the DTA not fond of either. You heard it here first.
ReplyDeleteYou have a 50/50 chance of being right.
DeleteThe DTA definitely has their friends and enemies list. I have to believe both are on the enemies list.
DeleteWhy would they dislike Le?. He has not won anything?
DeleteYou're right. It is the Texas Section that doesn't like Le. Having players make up scores at Sectionals and having another player play under someone else's name doesn't set well with Tosha and Todd.
DeleteWhy then would he be allowed to enter a team again?
DeleteDidn't Pickett win Tri Level Nationals last year?? Why would the DTA not want him representing Dallas and Texas? He has the best chance to take down Houston with the lock at 4.5. I agree Dallas will be tough because he has to qualify so many players. I never understand why Pickett has such huge rosters. I do think Le takes it this year but Pickett would do better at Sectionals and Nationals. Le has much better "subs" than Pickett. The large roster will cost him a match in a tough Dallas tournament.
ReplyDeleteThe question to ask is who can beat Houston. The DTA knows only Le or Pickett has a chance so why put them in the same flight. If the DTA hates Pickett then he will draw Le in flight play. If the DTA wants Dallas to beat Houston then they will have Le and Pickett in different flights. Pretty easy. We will find out soon.
ReplyDeletePoint well taken. If Pickett plays with a few less guys he wins it all again. Le can win cities but going to sectionals w out a lockdown player like Kelley will not work out too well. Pickett just trying to have fun and get everyone qualified. I personally think Kelley should bow out and cut the 4.5 roster down. He has won it once, what a jerk move to take a roster spot.
ReplyDeleteI think Joel asked him to play. Joel is the one with the big team. Wouldn't Joel be the jerk that invited everyone to be on his team.
ReplyDeleteNo, there are plenty of other players that have not been to nationals that should at least have a chance to go. Kelley should have declined to play.
ReplyDeleteNationals without Kelly??? Let other guys go??? How do you beat Houston without a Paul Kiron or Mike Kelly??? Le has a shot at the 4.5 line but no lock. Freeman has been knocked out by a Pickett influenced team for 3 years. I doubt he is just going to give to Dallas. I do know from the past that Freeman and Pickett are good friends. Freeman basically laughs at the competition from Dallas if Pickett or Le aren't involved.
ReplyDeleteWhy would he care about Le? He didn't have much problem this summer.
DeleteI am not saying let Freeman have it. Just saying take another 4.5 who can replace Kelley that still gives u a chance. He has gone to Indian wells and won it. He is not the only one in the area that gives u the best chance.
ReplyDeleteIs this Freeman or Le? I can't believe anyone would be this pathetic. If there are better players, then get them, beat Kelly and quit whining.
DeleteI thought you could only have 12 players on a tri-level roster. Have the teams have more. Is that wrong? Maybe they can take Kelly off the roster.
ReplyDeleteIf the limit is 12 Kelley should take himself off, but he is too arrogant
ReplyDeleteYou may be right. It has to be Kelly talking about himself. Nobody could be this infatuated. He is probably out here jerking everyone's chain to see his own name.
DeleteThis is idiotic. Why would anyone pull their best player? As for giving everyone else a chance to go to nationals, they can't get there without Kelly anyway. He's taken seasons off in the past. Did you go to nationals that season?
ReplyDeleteIronically, the only year he took men's league serious his team went to nationals. In the case of trilevel I think if you win it one year you should have to sit out the next.
DeleteYes our trilevel team went to Nationals a couple years ago when Kelly didnt play.
DeleteAnd all this talk about Kelly not playing because he has been there before and Joel should find someone else to replace him? Are you serious. Joel is only here to win and that is what he should be doing. If he is friends with Kelly and he is available to play for him then he should play him, period. Joel has a great 4.5 line and props to him for recruiting those guys.
Dallas Trilevel will be a battle this year and very competitive. Im sure a few key matches will come down to 3rd set breakers on a deciding line.
Lastly, please stop with Kelly obsession. There is no point. Im sure it is probably 1 person, maybe 2. You obsessing on this blog day after day is not going to change anything. You obviously like the blog because you post almost daily on it, well all this Kelly talk is only killing it and less people will even pay attention to it because of all the Kelly non sense.
Arcaria
Nicely said Shawn. Amen
DeleteThe 12 person rule is no longer in effect. It changed 2 years ago!
ReplyDeleteI think the poseters are correct. Mike is an jerk taking a spot in the Pickett team. He should quit that team. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with him so he can play on my team?
ReplyDeleteIf my math is correct , w 14 people on a roster you can never play the same team twice? Anyone w a math degree agree?
DeleteThtat # is 18.
Delete2 Flights of 4 for 3 round robin matches. 6 Players(3 lines) for each match x 3 matches = 18 players played.
mathemetician/accountant extraordinaire
....that is, no more than 6 players at each level.
DeleteThese boards are more trollish then the yahoo boards ..personally I think mike whoever he is and his bashers all need to to go to the yahoo boards we really dont care about what you guys say.. andre
ReplyDeleteThe big question is how are the 55s 7.0 Dallas women going to do in Tyler this weekend?
ReplyDeleteNow that is the big question. I am giddy waiting for the results.
DeleteBig? More like enormously huge! I bet they all are busy putting their hair up in a beehive and ironing their matching outfits. These gals have more rouge on their faces than rosin on their hands.
DeleteI will be hitting refresh on the playoffs non-stop. This is the event we all want!
DeleteEveryone watching knows you should not have won city's. If it wasn't for frame shots, net cords, line calls and those two very catty ladies on your team then we would have beat you all.
DeleteZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! Any combo18-40's, now you have my attention.
ReplyDeleteIt will definitly come down to Le vs. Pickett. Just one man's opinion but looks to me like Pickett dominates Le at 4.5, 4.0 is a toss up Picketts 4.0s Hsu and Justiss appear to be a little stronger than Le's 4.0s of Weymer, Newman and Glasgow. At 3.5 Le has Pak and nobody else and Picketts guys look to be much stonger.
ReplyDeleteNobody else has a chance including Sisk.
Weymer and Glasgow would win but they probably don't play together
DeleteDoes Alzuro not have any 4.5s willing to play on his team? Oh, I forgot. He really should be a 4.5 and must be playing that line with Kramer.
ReplyDeleteYes I will be playing that spot if it is any of your business. I always play the top spot so there is no need for 4.5s. I will win.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter what line Alzuro plays - it's probably a loss. I don't think he would win playing against most of the 3.5 players. He wouldn't be on a team if he didn't captain his own.
ReplyDeleteYou can look up my record if you wish but I do beat 3.5's and 4.0's all the time. Who cares what you think.
ReplyDelete11-26 at 4.0 is tearing it up! I guess you expect a bump up at year end. Maybe Alan A. will add you to his mixed team.
ReplyDeleteNot even as a 3.5 bump down.
DeleteHe can come practice with us. I like his screw you attitude. If the blog hates him, he's my kind of player.
DeleteBut, he has to tank down to 3.5.
Alan A
The tank was a joke. Lighten up people. And we will beat Le's team. That will be our only win. Again joke. Can't we all just get along?
Of course we can all get along. Unless you win, or captain a team that wins. Then the blog haters want you to quit tennis so they can win something. They just can't understand that they don't win because they're not very good.
Delete^^ This.
DeleteWhen does the tri-level schedule come out? It is a week to go. Can the DTA do anything ahead of schedule? My players keep asking and all I could say is I don't know.
DeleteI wouldn't expect anything until after the "roster deadline" of November 10 has passed. First, there should be no roster deadline (what is injury occurs). I think the set-up was better before (as a league not a championship) then a championship only after the flights are played.
DeletePretty sure, Jane is the only one that knew how to set it up that way. A few years ago they did that and it bench marked people that should not have been.
DeleteWhat are they asking?
ReplyDeleteWhat is Alzuros first name?
ReplyDeleteWould it be Rene Alzuro?
ReplyDelete5/19/13
Michael Kelly//Heather Stevens def.
Rene Alzuro/ Belinda Nail. 6-0,6-0.
My cat got as many games as Alzuro did.
That was mixed, men's is my specialty.
DeleteHello All,
DeleteIn response to the numerous inquiries regarding the TRI schedule, we will have that out soon. We are currently running literally millions of scenarios in which the Pickett team has the hardest path to winning. Possible ideas are chaining his players to the back fence or hanging steaks around Kelley's waste and releasing hungry lions during the point. Another idea was to make him play w his 3.5 female mixed partner but we felt that was not enough of an edge for his opponents. Please be patient as these schedules will be out by this weekend.
Sincerely,
DTA (don't trust anyone)
I will admit my serve and forehand is just slightly less than my great backhand, volleys and court sense. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?
DeleteRene Alzuro and Bill Kaiser, seperated at birth. Both play way above thier level and captain teams so that they can play. Neither one can win as a captain although Kaiser does manage to get on teams where he can get the occasional trophy. Kudo's!
ReplyDeleteHuge difference between Alzuro and Kaiser - one is cocky and thinks he is way better than he really is, the other plays on teams that are very good and is a team player who has no delusions about how good he is.
ReplyDelete@11:30 AM, that is a good question. I would have thought they would be out last week. They should have the fall playoffs out by now too.
ReplyDeleteMy best guess will be Monday on tri level.
ReplyDeleteThat is optimistic. After all, they have a lot to do over there.
DeleteAfter the weeks of comments about how everyone can beat everyone else, I'm still waiting for 1 team to call me for practice against my mixed team. We have 2 weeks to practice. PLEASE COME KICK OUR BUTTS. We need some good matches. 8.0 or 9.0 men or mixed. I don't care. We need the matches against anyone besides each other. If you want to beat us to prove a point or just to help us prepare, call me. If we do win, I promise I won't put it on the blog. Tuesday's at 6:30 or Wednesdays at noon.
ReplyDeleteAlan A

Alan, Why would you let Kelley play Tri level risking injury when he leaves 4 days later for nationals? Seems pretty selfish on his part. He should be preparing for another national run instead of try "out of" level.
ReplyDeleteMaybe put him in a bubble until nationals? Lord knows you wouldn't want him to play any tennis to get ready.
DeleteAn injured Kelley would mean his female partner would actually have to hit the ball. Don't risk it Kelley, remember what's important
DeleteMikes a grown ass man. He can play Tri Level. Most of the mixed team is playing tri level. It's great practice. No one has called me to practice, so we have to do something. The fun part will be if my team plays his and we have to play each other. We both are competitors, he will try to beat me and I will try to hit him in the nuts to beat him. That's the only shot I will have to win.
DeleteAlan A
How did Dallas drop the ball and allow Jason Kern to play on Freemans team? He will be able to beat Kelly and amy of Picketts guys.
ReplyDeleteThat will be a tough 4.5 line to overcome.
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. While no doubt Kern a very, very solid player... I would never bet against Kelley in any clutch match. But that is why we play, if they meet it will be fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteSchedule comes out Wednesday
ReplyDeleteThe event starts Friday. What is the DTA thinking? Thanks for all the extra time. I truly miss Jane.
DeleteMikes partner can handle her own. We went 3-1 in 40 over sectionals. She is solid.
ReplyDeleteAlan
Why is that Alan and Mike Kelly have only competed at 8.0? I haven't seen them have any success in 9.0.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier to find 4.0 talent to rate in at 3.5 than it is to find 5.0 talent to rate in at 4.5.
DeleteI find it hard to find 5.0 talent that is not rated.
DeleteAlan and Mike have been to 9.0 nationals as well I believe, and when Kelley played 9.0 he pretty much dominated that too. He was even playin w a 4.0, not w a 4.5.
ReplyDeleteI believe if Kelley played 9.0 w a 4.5 woman it would be easier than playing 8.0 w a 3.5 woman. Bottom line is the guy can flat out play mixed doubles. Let the bashing begin. SEE BELOW
ReplyDeleteU need to get your head checked bragging about mixed
DeleteNot bragging, just answering questions
DeleteAlan
I play 8.0 because I don't want to be the worse player on the court. That's the honest answer. We did go to nationals at 9.0 in 2008, I think. My 8.0 partner and I have played some 9.0 tournaments. We usually get beat in 3 sets. Not to many wins, but it's a lot of fun. I think mike plays 8.0 because I do. I think he likes playing on my teams because we always have a great team and we have a lot of fun. Our teams practice together and actually enjoy each others company. We except everyone for who they are and what they can do for the team.
ReplyDeleteWe have talked about next year and I think we are going 9.0. As one blogger put it, "so brookhaven and canyon creek have a chance". I think that was a canyon creek person because oak creek had a much stronger team then canyon creek last year. Brookhaven is always tough and I like and respect Brad for the teams he has put together.
Alan A
To 10:47 poster:
ReplyDeleteYou don't call going to nationals in 9.0 success???!! Some of these posts are incomprehensible. It is clear than no matter what he does there will be hate. I guess he sucks until he wins a Slam, then posts will say he paid off the opponents. Lol. Unbelievable
I have to say Alan is always open and honest on this blog, unlike most others. I admire the fact he would consider playing 9.0 so that someone else could win 8.0. Truly a class move. What would be funny is if they just moved up to 9.0 w the 8.0 team. I wouldn't want to be facing that team knowing you were rated a full level higher. Lol.
ReplyDeleteHow'd you know that's what we are doing? We will play 8.0 out of Ft Worth and 9.0 out of Dallas.
DeleteAlan
Is that Wednesday comment serious? Schedules should be published at least 2 weeks in advance.
ReplyDeleteYup. Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteTwo days ahead of event??!! No way, it will be out Monday at least. There is no way for everyone scheduled to make plans that late in advance.
DeleteI received an email from DTA. Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteSurely that is a poorly timed April Fool's joke.
DeleteI'm not joking. Wednesday. Damn it. Pay attention. Where are the other captains.
ReplyDeleteIt's Wednesday. http://assets.usta.com/assets/617/15/2013-2014_USTA_Dallas_Tennis_Association_Calendar__2_.pdf
ReplyDeleteI'm not joking. Wednesday. Damn it. Pay attention. Where are the other captains.
ReplyDeleteWe believe you. I'm going to talk to the other captains and we need to say something.
DeleteI don't think their schedule is out until Wednesday as well.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is most of the DTA is canyon creek or Brookhaven members. Do we think there is favoritism?
ReplyDeleteUh, you think?
DeleteCC. and Brookhaven should just play out of ft worth. It is easier and they might win some leagues that way. That way they could complain to the FWTA. Until Alan A retires, neither has a chance at winning anything in Big D in mixed. They should drop the club memberships, save money, join Springpark and start winning.
ReplyDeleteThey wouldn't win anywhere. You need to have good players to win. The country clubs are delusional about their level because they only play each other.
DeleteWell said
DeleteMixed doubles is terrible its not worth posting about
DeleteNo way this schedule come out 48 hours before tourney... Absurd !
ReplyDeleteUnderstatement!!! I think they are seeing which courts are booked to get a reservation 48 hours in advance.
DeleteHow does the post season and tournaments affect your rating?
ReplyDeleteTodd Reed has that information. They all count but to what degree is the question.
DeleteThey do count in ratings.
DeleteTrue, schedule comes out on Wednesday. Heard some of the girls have to play Thursday and they don't get their schedule until Wednesday either. Total bullshit. No wonder everyone has huge rosters..covering all time slots. Bring Jane back please.
ReplyDeleteschedule is out early:
ReplyDeleteBlue Flight: Pickett, Sisk, Somabut, Alzuro
Red Flight: Le, McHugh, Kingsley, Abbruzzese
Maybe they do read the blog. They will get the fall playoffs Friday morning the day it starts.
DeleteInteresting draws. I know Chavez and Perez were handpicked to dethrone Kelley last year and were even coached on how to do so. How did that work out? Who is the one that dethrones Pickett this year?
ReplyDeleteHow is Kern a 4.5 now? Is the USTA granting every appeal made?
ReplyDeleteBec if your name begins Ke they look the other way... What a joke?
ReplyDeleteI'd focus on winning Dallas before I worried about Houston. 99% of this blog won't need to worry about Houston anyway.
ReplyDeleteI got an e-mail from the DTA for 40s Mixed. They are opening registration after year end ratings on 12/2 and you have to have a full roster by 12/11. Seriously, WTF is going on over there? I guess they want fewer teams.
ReplyDeleteThey don't want fewer teams, they want DIFFERENT winners.
DeleteActually, they want the same number of winners. It is just who they want to win and they all come from their own little circle.
DeleteDIFFERENT winners is about making Dallas worse.
By all means lets not have the best players win. More important to keep the wanna be clubs happy
DeleteAnd I wonder why Houston laughs at us every year? Alan A is the only Captain that consistently gets the better of Houston. He makes teams to win nationals while the others make teams to get a wildcard to sectionals.
DeleteMy teams ready.
ReplyDeleteAlan
Well of course your roster is ready Alan. They have been tanking on their mens & womens team for a year to be on your roster.
ReplyDeleteNope. A couple ladies were bump ups
ReplyDeleteAlan
Whoever is bumped up can say bye bye to playing on your team. Highly doubtful you will play a lady bump up. The truth will come out. Your rosters are based on who can keep their ratings down.
ReplyDeleteIt's based on who can win. If all you had to was keep your rating down you'd be on his team every year.
DeleteI don't care who wins on his team. The only person I wish ill will and no success is Kelley. Maybe he will tear an ACL... Lol
Delete^^ Pathetic. At 10:34, that is funny. There are quite a few people who would fit that mold.
DeleteWhy do you guys keep harping on Alan and his teams???? Without him Texas has no representation in mixed, ever. He is headed to Hawaii and Tucson and nothing on here but garbage talk. Bottom line, success breeds jealousy. It always will. Good luck at nationals in Hawaii and Tucson.
ReplyDeleteBL
Don't know Alan but all the people I know that have played for him loved it. Don't meet hardly anyone that likes the CC mixed crowd. Several of the CC men will tell you they only play because they don't want the CC women bitching at them. At least they bitch at everyone. They need to just play a club league and leave the winning to the big kids.
DeleteIt's more like - AA constant bragging breeds comments...
ReplyDeleteOf course we want Texas to go to Nats - just would be nice if Texas could be represented with class & not constant brash & bragodocious that comes across on the blog.
Yeah, because Canyon Creek and Brookhaven ae SO classy. What a joke
DeleteI'm not bragging,I'm answering questions with my name attached. And as far as representing Texas with class, the only issues I have ever had in league play is in the local Dallas league. In sectionals, everyone we played had no bad feelings towards the team. Sign your name to your comments.
DeleteAlan A
Brash and bragodocious??? Who knew the CC women were actually on this blog???
DeleteCC and BH have been complaining about mixed teams for years. I've never heard anything about one of AA's teams. The worst I hear is Mike Kelly is too good. CC/BH teams have been complaining about everyone for years.
DeleteYou've never heard anything about AA's teams? That's comical. Bash the private club members who step up in Board positions and require their teams to play within the rules, that sounds about right.
DeleteWhere did I bash. The only thing I said was I thought oak creek had a stronger team. It's just an opinion.
DeleteAlan
I'm not 8:41. I've heard about AA's teams but not about them complaining. The country clubs are always the ones complaining. CC is the leaser in that category but Brookhaven isn't far behind. I have to hear them complain in TCD. They think it is their right to rule mixed. I know they complain about the men's and women's leagues too. I'm not as close to the DTA as I used to be but I remember all of the complaints and where they came from.
DeleteAlan- the word for you was "brash" not "bash"
DeleteSorry. Just glazed over the post. I completly agree with that statement then. Sorry again. It wasn't my intent to sound brash. I guess it comes out they way on "paper".
DeleteAlan
So what is everyone's thoughts on the flight breakdown? It doesn't appear to be random and looks like DTA put some thought behind it. If you rank the teams like Captain Fantastic did with Picket being 1, followed by Le, Sisk and McHugh, the seeding is 1-3, 2-4. Pretty good for a "random" drawing. I wonder if Brandon had anything to say about how the draw was determined.
ReplyDeleteAfter the roster deadline it looks like the (J)CC/McHugh team has been pushed back to number 6 or 7 in the seeds. Relegating them into their normal position of: Hey guys, what about us? We're good too.
ReplyDeleteLooks like each flight has a clear #1 and #4 seed. The other four teams make up the middle. I'd say they did a pretty good job with the flights
DeleteLooks more like Sisk is the clear #1 going by the poll results. Surely can't be that this blog is mostly stalked by Big John's boys.
ReplyDeleteYep, Sisk will win it all
DeleteDoesn't really matter. Just pulled up Freeman's roster. Dallas will be playing for fun.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how Kern appealed his 2012 year-end rating after playing half a season at 5.0 and playing at Championship level the prior year. Surprised he wasn't benchmarked. I guess that shows that tri-level doesn't count, or that Freeman has some good connections.
Funny how Houston just has 3 tri-level teams. I guess the city doesn't bother knowing they have to go up against Freeman. Not much play time until they get to Sectionals. At least Dallas makes a go this year with a full 8. Will be interesting to see the participation rate next year. Hope this doesn't turn out like Junior Tri has.
Hey guys, do ya'll want to play some matches over here? We have an indoor court too.
ReplyDeleteCC Country Clubber
No, we would rather stay put and win outside.
ReplyDeleteIf Kelley truly hurting I would say Sisk will win the whole enchilada. Saw him hitting indoors last nite and he was moving very slowly
DeleteDoesn't Sisk always move slowly?
DeleteTeam Alzuro has a little plan for Kelley. We will exact a little revenge for the 6-0,6-0 beat down he gave our captain this summer. Unless he is too scared to play us Friday nite!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen and where are the matches? Of course wonderful DTA doesn't know how to show that in Tennis Link. Will Jane please come back and properly train Sherri. PLEASE!!!
ReplyDeleteYou actually think he will play against your team fri nite??? I will buy everyone there a beer if he even shows up to watch.... Lol
ReplyDeleteBec team players show up for support. He is all about himself

DeleteSorry Le wins 2-1. Sorry
DeleteHow is Pickett going to lose a line to Alzuro?
ReplyDeleteThat's the same question I was going to ask.
ReplyDeleteI guess Alzuro is playing 4.5 and thinks he can take out Kelly.
Kelly not playing. He has the flu. Alzuro team wins one line I bet
ReplyDeleteI hope Kelley loses to sisk's dynamic duo of peiser and baker. Saw them play, they are unbeatable.
ReplyDeletePeiser and Baker lose to Kelly and some other warm body in straight sets.
ReplyDeleteKiron is just any 4.5 player huh. It was a close 7-5, 7-6 match...entertaining too...maybe you should come out for the matches if you're going to have an opinion on them.
DeleteDon't they play at 2?
ReplyDeleteNope, they started at noon I think. Great match to watch. Kelley just has another gear, mentally tough and a very very smart player. Keron played well to. Kelley somehow comes up w shot after shot and just keeps you on the defensive. Pretty remarkable really.
ReplyDeleteThat was a fluke... Kelley treed out again.
ReplyDeleteKelly and Paul Kiron won 5 and 6
