Flight A
Northwood and Coredawg continue to roll on and this week they have Hackberry before their showdown with 2nd place Brookhaven. Nwood should do fine and clinch their playoff spot before putting on the brakes in their final match. Team Branch posted a big score over Diet Branch and continues to try and climb back into the playoff race although I wonder if they might be losing players while trying to post big scores.
Flight B
The battle of unbeatens happens this week. I have to go with Royal Oaks here but it could be close. High Point will be Royal Oaks fans this week because a OC/Feldman win all but ends the HP/4.0 bump-ups chances of making it to the dance. But keep trying guys we want to make sure you stay 4.5s and if you don't, please scroll down to my contact info: bazan.dean@gmail.com, we are interviewing new candidates for April.
I'm going w/ OC this week. RO needs to protect a few players more than they need a win.
ReplyDeleteRO will be tough at home and we look forward to the match. I think RO is like most of us in the fall and we put out there the players that are available. I'm doubtful they are overly concerned about protecting anyone. (I probably need a win to keep from getting bumped)(down)
ReplyDeleteHP will have their hands full against TBar at home as well. Don't overlook TBar especially at home because they have a very good deep team. Probably going to be a 3-2 or 2-3. Now don't hate on me HP, but be ready for some close matches.
Phil Mc
The Buff will Roam this weekend.
ReplyDeleteEasy win at singles.
If I go play singles I could get bumped in a heartbeat. I know who said that too! And you know which direction I would be getting bumped. I have to play doubles to protect my 4.5 rating and even that is getting tough to hold up.
ReplyDeletePhil McBuffalo
maybe nancy will get bumped to 5.0at yearend. He has only lost 1 match to ron morrison in the fall season. also some good wins over frank vo, ken loose and sean bay.
ReplyDeleteNancy will never get moved up to 5.0 - he is a nice guy, but an average 4.5 at best. look at his post-season record.
ReplyDeleteMy postseason record is 3-2 by the way. I know I'm not getting moved to 5.0 but you can't call me an average 4.5 based on my postseason record. I would like to be a 5.0 but I am never going to be the best singles player on a 5.0 team so I don't think I would like it. My doubles game is much closer to 4.0 than 5.0.
ReplyDeleteBesides that, there are many other players on my team that should be worried about getting moved up besides me.
ReplyDeleteCorey,
ReplyDeleteGet a life. Is this all you care about?
Corey,
ReplyDeleteI've seen you play and you are really close to 5.0. I would say 4.75 to 4.824.
What ever happened to Joe Vo?
ReplyDeleteThanks for that precision. I have no idea who Joe Vo is???? To the 7:08 poster, I don't have much else going on. Eat. Sleep. Play Tennis. Read Blog.
ReplyDeleteOh - and stroke my monkey.
ReplyDeleteFat Joe is leaving Atlantic.
ReplyDeletelooks like order will be restored to the 4.5 league after all. OC/Branch will make the playoffs thru tie breaker and win the fall again. Even if Corey plays his bottom 8 players, he will still beat the overrated BH team. Harlee has no weapons to put on the court. I predict 4-1, maybe Rubel flashes back to a more glorious time and wins a 3 setter for the only win
ReplyDeleteSounds like a challenge. Corey you show them that Northwood can lose to BH. Anon is just a hater saying you can't do it.
ReplyDeleteHow many matches won or what kind of record do you need to get bumped from 4.5 to 5.0 at the end of the fall season?
ReplyDeleteGood question- also does it matter if you mainly play singles or mainly doubles??
ReplyDeleteOC Branch WILL NOT make the playoffs this fall. Nor do they care about making the playoffs. They are clearly trying to dump matches in the fall.
ReplyDeleteCorey has made it very clear that he will dump the final match to make sure he does not have to play Branch again. Corey knows that BH is his teams only chance to win a match during the fall playoffs, bc RO, Feldman, and Branch will all beat his team 4-1 or 5-0 every time in the playoffs. He has one strong line one doubles and that is IT. All of this blog talk about how good his team is, will be for not. Brookhaven is the only team that they could possibly beat in the playoffs and they might not be able to beat them straight up anyhow.
----grabbing some popcorn-----
ReplyDeleteI know....it is easy to dump on the Branch team....If you don't win all your lines you are losing on purpose...if you don't win by appropriate scores you are sandbagging...idiots
ReplyDeleteanon that wrote- They (Branch) are clearly trying to dump matches in the fall.
You don't know what you are talking about.
Show me where you see a trend of dumping matches..too lazy I beat... Just too easy to name call and put people down that you don't know...
Take a close look.. Branch is like 26-9 in lines....2 of the 9 loses are defaults...4 of the 9 loses are from a good player having a bad start to the season...That leaves 3 loses to the rest of the team...2 of those loses came against a strong Northwood...that leaves 1 match... out of that group...guess that means they don't care and they are dumping matches...
Nancy's team is as good as any of the top teams and I think Northwood is going to win the fall title. Wait and see . . .
ReplyDeleteI know we can compete with any 4.5 teams in the league. We lost to Royal Oaks 3-2 last season with two of my top 5 players out, and one suffering a severe injury during the match. Feldman's team we have never played. We are 7-0 and still underrated. What more can I do?
ReplyDeletestfu?
ReplyDeleteThat was funny. Hats off to you.
ReplyDeleteYou ask : We are 7-0 and still underrated. What more can I do?
ReplyDeleteAnswer - go undefeated in the fall, play it straight and earn some respect in the playoffs by playing RO, Feldman, and Branch straight up when it counts. You win, you get respect.
We already played Branch straight up and won. We will now play RO and Felman in the playoffs so hopefully that will satisfy you.
ReplyDelete^
ReplyDelete|
straight up? Good grief, you threw both #1 lines to the wolves against Branch.
Heck the last 2 weeks you've practically defaulted Line 1 singles so you could win at Line 2.
I'll give you the line 1 doubles comment, but the person who I placed at line 1 singles was a stud - PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteCorey:
ReplyDeleteYou should not bitch about any player, especially the Russian on RO, considering you have your D2 ringer playing right now, so quit being a hypocrite.
You didn't beat Branch straight up. Play him in the playoffs when half his guys aren't on vacation.
ReplyDeleteThat's like saying you beat the Cowboys without Romo, Owens, Williams, and Barber.
How'd you do in the Spring against them BTW? nuff said!!!!
Get over yourself
I am not sure which D2 ringer you are referring to - is this the same ringer that lost just this past weekend?
ReplyDeleteAs for our match with Branch it appears I can't win either way. Branch beat us in the Spring, and of course that team was a bit more loaded than this Branch team. We brought out the team we hoped could win in the fall, and I am not being asked to apologize because Rusty couldn't present his strongest lineup. Branch lost the last time we played them, end of story.
The real captain doesn't even know who this D2 ringer is. I don't know of any D2 players I have on my roster. And, every single player on my team has a loss going back to '07. I don't really care about getting respect from anonymous bloggers. I captain for my team and my team only and we play to win and that's our one and only goal.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when did I ever say anything about this RO pro. Are you attacking "Corey Noel" or me? It appears you will have to distinguish between the two since "Corey" posts even more than me.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The Caribbean will win 3.5 nationals with all 4.0+ superstars. Who's dirty now?
In Dallas? Garland of coarse because they beat my team and now I'm sucking on soar grapes. I don't care about another team from BFE because they didn't beAT MY TEAM.
ReplyDeleteNo one is asking you to apologize for beating Branch, but don't come on here claiming your the baddest thing walkin when you haven't won a damn thing, it's getting old.
ReplyDeleteYou win cities in the Spring and I'll be the first to apologize, you finished last in the spring, do you really think things have changed that much that you guys are that much better or is the reality that the top teams are just mailing it in!? Not saying you have a bad team, just think you should be a little more realistic on where your team really stacks up, and not come on here gloating over winning basically nothing..
We finished last? Not sure how you came to that assesment. I don't remember ever gloating, just posting a score from time to time. Your post really sound more like soar grapes to me.
ReplyDeleteCorey - I'm sure the guy was saying you finished last in the playoffs (final 4 round robin) - you lost all 3 matches. RO, Branch, and TBarM all beat you.
ReplyDeleteWhen someone beats Branch in the Spring playoffs then you get props. I just looked and TBarM beat Branch in the Spring regular season but then lost to them in the playoffs. Regular season is just that - playoffs is when you see the very best each squad has to offer.
You beating Branch during a regular season match means you won that match - not that you have the best team in the league. You need to get a clue dude.
We will never know because we won't see Branch in the playoffs this season. We won 3-2 today with my 1 doubles team pulling out a crucial match in the third-set tiebreak. I kind of like reading these arguments between the anonymous posters and the fake Corey. He might be somebody close to me because I agree with him 95% of the time, but wouldn't say the things he says publicly.
ReplyDeleteI am not ready to claim we have the best team in the league until we win something. But, on this blog you either suck or you're sandbaggging. There is no in between. I believe we have the best record of any team in either flight right now, but we all know the cream rises to the top in the playoffs.
What is funny is I don't think the fake or the real Corey have EVER said they are the best team in Dallas, nor have they ever said they are better than Branch.
ReplyDeleteAm I missing something here?
Your name?
ReplyDeleteAmen 3:16.
ReplyDeleteCorey is just stating the facts - he did beat us in a fall match and I say congrats to him. He is happy, proud, a little goofy, but so what -they beat us and it's all in good fun. I wish that he would play Brookhaven straight up, try to go undefeated and play the best of the best in the playoffs, but I also understand why he would want to make sure that we don't get in this fall's playoffs too. With that being said - no problem, it's his teams choice. Good luck to whoever makes it in. Payback will be coming in the spring.
ReplyDeleteBranch Team Member
It really doesn't matter what Corey and Northwood do this next weekend. The threat to first place won't be Branch it comes from Royal Oaks if they get all their players out. Not saying RO's beats Branch in the Spring when it matters just saying that if you look at current rosters and effort level put in up to this point, Northwood will lose to RO's. You gotta be impressed by the beat down put on OC Feldman by RO's.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree - RO and Branch are the two teams that will represent Dallas at sectionals. Corey and team are irrellevant when it comes time for the spring.
ReplyDeleteWe will see how irrelevant Northwood is. Wait until you see my roster in the spring.
