So 3.5 had a little life this past weekend but it looks like back to snoozeville for this weekend except for the 3.5 MOW between Brookhaven and High Point.
Flight A:
As mentioned there is our MOW between undefeated 1st place Brookhaven and newly defeated High Point. LTF and CC also are at the top with 1 loss with these two teams so some spots might start to solidify after Saturday. It should be interesting but I am still trying to figure out High Point and I think they might be trying to figure themselves out as well. I will have to go with Brookhaven in a close one.
Fight B:
Nothing really that interesting here. Westlake and Greenhill seem to in a different league at the top but Greenhill has a test this week against an always solid Stonebridge team. I would like to take SB for the upset but I see a close loss for them come Saturday. The Lakes are still hanging around as well but they play a solid yet underachieving team in High Point/Entrenkin. Lakes need to keep winning if they have an outside shot of climbing up the ladder.
Flight C:
I would be hard pressed to call this flight exciting but LBH did falter with a close loss to Stonebriar so Samuell Grand remains the only unbeaten leaving the rest of the teams in this flight to fight it out for 2nd place. Gleneagles, CC and Oakridge along with LBH will have to play out the season well and hope things work out.
Looks like plan G to find singles ringers. All the good SMU singles guys that have graduated in the past couple years are playing for Garland's 3.0 team.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about recruiting overseas? Some of those foreign guys can play some tennis and google is useless on them.
ReplyDeleteDoes Samuel Grand ever play their matches at the scheduled time because never any results posted.WTF???
ReplyDeleteMaybe they got shot leaving Samuell Grand. I heard even Garland players are scared to go there.
ReplyDeleteAnyone care to make any predictions before the 1/2 way point in the season. What order do the following teams finish in?
ReplyDeleteBrookhaven/Kramer 5-0
Westlake/Haney 5-0
Samuell Grand/Robberson 3-0
Lifetime/Kaiser 4-1
Greenhill/Kayser 4-1
High Point/Jameson 3-1
Canyon Creek/Jolly 3-1
LB Houston/Hunter 3-1
Canyon Creek/Lenehan 3-1
Lakes Tennis/Foy 3-1
Am I leaving anyone out?
I think BH/HP is interesting. It will come down to who HP can get out. I like their chances if they get their best 8 out. Of course, that has been their issue all season.
ReplyDeleteI see no way High Point beats Brookhaven. They will be down 0-2 after the singles lines and they cannot win all three doubles lines. All Kraemer has to do is stack their doubles somewhere and they win 3-2.
ReplyDeletePlayoff teams wille be:
ReplyDeleteFlight A:
Brookhaven
Canyon Creek
Flight B:
Westlake
Greenhill
Flight C:
Samuell Grand
Canyon Creek
Final will be all flight B and Greenhill will avenge their early season loss and win the whole thing.
I think the previous "ANON" gets at least 5 of the 6 correct. I am not sure who will come in 2nd in Flight C.
ReplyDeleteIt is a compliment that they think we will win the fall playoffs, but there are conflicts the weekend of the playoffs. To many players are playing in the super senior sectionals. I love the wonderful scheduling of the DTA & the USTA.
BK - GH
Cary, I agree with you - Stonebridge can beat us this weekend. They have always been strong and I am surprised by one of their losses. They have also been wonderful competitors and gentlemen on the courts.

I'm beginning to think that most posters on this blog are steers, queers, democrats, or lawyers. I guess that was a pretty redundant statement.
ReplyDeleteOur rugby team way back when practiced at Samuel park and I know we heard gig shots and every1 fell to the ground, quick. We moved our practices to fretz park shortly after that.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, when that commy O. Hussein gets elected, places like Samuel Grand will be cleaned up at the expense of our dough. Problem is that all the un-educated voting thugs in that neighborhood will still be yielding guns illegaly, yet none of us will be, again thanks to the demos and their racist leader.
ReplyDeleteYou know 3.5 is really boring when this blog becomes political. Wait until Fall '09 when Sisk returns.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I will be gone by Fall of 2009. I like Sisk but I can't handle that drama again. Many of the whiny posters look to have been moved up to 4.0; unfortunately, if history holds, many of them will be back down to whine again.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing... I don't think our federal government has enough credit left to clean up the area around Samuell Grand.
ReplyDeleteIf the anons are not hating on Noel, Prather, Getz, Flora or any other halfway decent player, they lose steam and have nothing to say and this blog just dies out.

Speaking of Getz, anybody know how he and all of the other studly 3.5 players like Prather and Blackburn did down in San Antonio last weekend?
ReplyDeleteHey Wiley, how come you havent been playing any matches for High Point this season? You are on the Jamison team arent you?
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to see the results of how people did in a tournament, just go to the USTA Texas Sectional website and click on tournaments. Blackburn and Prather played doubles together and both got to the semis in singles. Getz faced Blackburn in the second round and lost.
ReplyDeleteI guess 8:05 is Prather and he is wanting to talk about self.
ReplyDeleteThere is a USTA Tourney Sectional thread where David can talk and write about himself, IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inquiry. I am on the Jameson team but I am still hurt. If needed, I can play but I am still less than 100%.
ReplyDeleteSTEP UP GREG! Real men play injured.
ReplyDeletePlaying injured is what got me to the point I could not play injured.
ReplyDeleteCome on Wiley, are you hurt or are you injured?
ReplyDeleteHP beat Brookhaven 3-2. I guess HP is not dead.
