Flight A
This flight is pretty interesting this week and has our MOW with Lifetime Fitness taking on Brookhaven. Both are notched at the top with High Point and CC/Jolly. The loser of this match is dangerously close to being eliminated from playoff contention due to these other three teams lingering at the top. High Point and CC look to have easier matches this week and could put some distance between both these teams if they win big. Looking forward to the CC v. HP match on 11/8. CC has a very solid roster, if only McHugh played on this CC team I would say they could grab this flight outright.
Flight B
This flight might as well be over as Westlake is adding insurance and Greenhill has a big lead in individual wins over 3rd place OC so even a late season falter wouldn't hurt them. Pretty sure we can call this flight the only interesting thing might be any last minute adds. I have seen some 3.5s playing up who could help out these teams. Let's see if these guys can be had.
Flight C
There is one good match here with GEagles v LBH, loser should be all but done with two many teams lurking for that 2nd spot behind Samuell Grand. I was just looking at SG and they have dropped one line all season. Yikes, can you say dominating. Are you sure GH and Westlake are the favs. Don't be so sure.
Make-up match between Oak Ridge- LB Houston is scheduled to be played on Sunday Oct 26th at 2PM at Oak Ridge.
ReplyDeleteWhats up with Glen Eagles. 2 matches not completed yet?? What the hell is going on with them??? Big match this week-end with LB Houston?? Glen eagles may be out of it by now!!!
ReplyDeleteThe people at Glen Eagles cannot afford computers so they have to pony express their results to the DTA.
ReplyDeleteThe people at Glen Eagles cannot afford computers so they have to pony express their results to the DTA.
ReplyDeleteNow that there is a 3.5 specific thread, what do people think about John Sisk and his Garland buddies jumping into the Fall league with Westlake?
ReplyDeleteWould be interesting if we at CC could swap around some of the Jolly and Lenehan lines, and put our stongest team together for one of the flights. Westlake gets to take on the CC Gable team in flight B, so don't know that either our A or C flighted teams will have the pleasure of taking on mighty Westlake. Fisk, since you know Don, maybe you can help faciliate a singles challenge match with Don between Fall and Spring. I think Dolson and a few others wouldn't mind getting together in a round-robin, just to keep the games sharp over the winter.
ReplyDeleteWho cares about Sisk/Westlake/Garland? It is perfectly legitimate and within the rules. If Westlake wins the fall, they will merely have a slot in the DCC next fall and most of those players will not be available. Outside of Defeo & Harvey, it really is not a big deal. Defeo and Harvey are not going to be 3.5 in the spring.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The only ones that could possibly have an interest in Sisk now are Jenny Craig and the Garland AA Association.
ReplyDeleteDont forget Nutri Systems, I think he is taking over for John Kruck on ESPN, that dude lost 50lbs on it then got off it and gained 100. He is now in Big John's weight class, maybe we can string together a challenge match between those two?
ReplyDeleteMchugh,
ReplyDeleteWe can do it once we get back from nationals. We have mass practices every week until spring,18-28 guys at gtc, I'll keep you on ct 14 that will be you and Harvey's ct!
Call the center and Cathy will give you my number!
Sisk
Nobody really gives a crap about John Sisk and all his B.S. We are sorry he is posting again on this blog.
ReplyDeleteThis thread got boring when John was not posting. I'm glad he is back!
ReplyDeleteIF LIFETIME KAISER ... wins their match this week against Brookhaven. They control the #1 spot!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Big Match this week!
LTF is a machine. They are unstoppable.
ReplyDeleteBrookhavens top 3 singles guys, Mitterer, Cline, and Kuhn, can beat any of the LTF guys, including Gerber. So, Brookhaven only has to win 1 line of doubles which they can do. LTF will be spectators at the City championships.
ReplyDeleteI have seen all four play, Mitterer, Cline, Kuhn, and Gerber and they are all mid level 3.5 singles players at best! They would all lose 0 and 0, or 0 and 1 vs. Harvey and Sisk and the other good singles players in 3.5! So quit talking about these 4 loosers!
ReplyDeleteHarvey is real good but Sisk cant beat anyone in singles. All he has is a big serve but nothing else stop talking about a big fat slob!!! He cant handle losing at 4.0 so now he is back at 3.5 BIG DEAL!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Sisk has played at 4.0.
ReplyDeleteTo the 7:55 a.m. poster. I've been playing tennis a whole year and a half so no offense taken if you think I'm no good, but you sure talk a big game. Why don't you post your name as I'd have no problem taking you on. And what's up with calling me a loser? At least learn how to spell the word before you throw it around. Perhaps you need a little ass kicking as well, as the only things that seems to be loose are your lips. Bring it, starting with your name tough guy.
ReplyDeleteGerber
Oh I'm so scared, this Gerber guys must think he is a "tough guy", sounds like someone hit a nerve! It's just tennis, lighten up! Not everyone can be as good as Harvey, Sisk, and Eddie! Keep working on your game and you just may be at that level one day.
ReplyDeleteIf you're not scared, post your name instead of throwing around other peoples names. Or perhaps you should just sign "Sissy" at the end of your posts.
ReplyDeleteAlan Gerber is a very good player but he has been playing longer than a year and 1/2. I personally saw him playing at LTF more than 1 1/2 years ago and he already looked pretty good.
ReplyDelete"I've only been playing a year and a half" is a bunch of crap. That's the way this guy makes excuses for possible future losses.
- Sissy
I wouldn't be surprised if HP is sitting in the bleachers along with LTF during the fall City's. They got lucky to squeek by Brookhaven, and they already lost to LTF. Canyon Creek has only lost to Brookhaven. As screwed up as HP has been this season, they could easily lose to CC. LTF & HP better get your popcorn.
ReplyDeleteIf we lose to CC, we probably do sit home. Yet, I think we will worry about LB Houston first and then the Village. CC talk is a bit premature. We need to worry about LBH first. We have not dominated anyone so we have plenty of worries before we even get talk about CC.
ReplyDeleteI think LBH can and will beat HP.
ReplyDeleteHP is the biggest group of underachievers in Dallas 3.5 history. They have the fatass obnoxious loudmouth Wiley that the captain does not even have enough faith in to play every week. They have no singles players. They won't even make the playoffs.
Spoken by a true "anonymous"! That's fitting one anon calling another anon a pussy for not posting his name... as he posts not using his name... I am so confused!
ReplyDeleteWow... Who did I piss off?
ReplyDelete10:50am poster,
ReplyDeleteHow could you curse about an individual you don't know(Wiley)
He has been injured,he could play on any 3.5 team in the city.Come out of anon, let's play! I'm an average 3.0!!!!
Sisk
Match time for Lifetime! good luck gentelmen. I can vouch for Gerber though. His game has gotten better, and he just got bumped from 3.0 not too long ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd please don't tell me he wasn't a 3.0 back then. I remember him running completely around an obvious back hand or swinging like he was a 10 year old girl with his backhand back then. :)~
His play has jumped by leaps and bounds. His play has gotten much better every season since I have known him. So, what you might have seen last season or the season before is not the same person. People improve.
I just wish he would stop flexing before he hits the ball...LOL!!! just kididng Alan.
ReplyDeleteHP lost to LBH. WTF? I am certainly not upset but it is a shock. bwahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI don't get this one either. wow! this is gonna get really interesting now. I wish HP well but if they don't win that means Victor can join us at the playoffs so I wouldn't be that upset.
ReplyDeleteHP needs tog et their best players to play the same week.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure they know who their best players are.
ReplyDeleteProps to Gerber.
ReplyDeleteBig win in a big match.
Props to Gerber? It just proves that performance enhancing drugs do work! Not that great a win vs. a pretty average player who just happens to have a good record.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you should think about taking them then so you can stop hanging out on the 3.5 blog. First they say Mitterer is top 5, now that Gerber beats him he's just average with a good record. What if Gerber beats someone like Harvey, what will it be then?
ReplyDeleteIf Gerber beats Harvey - it's probably a tanked match!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Gerber is the one that would tank. I'm certain he doesn't want to get bumped yet even though an undefeated season won't help his cause. Harvey on the other hand, should be playing 4.0 and should be embarassed beating up on 3.5s.
ReplyDeleteOH FOR PETE"S SAKE, Harvey is just a mid pack 3.5 player. Get over yourself!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd what PETE would you be?
ReplyDeleteHP lost to LBH. That is just amazing. What the hell is wrong at HP? They have the talent to win the whole thing and they may miss the playoffs. Someone needs to tell Jameson who his good players are and who they are not.
ReplyDeleteI'm Repete
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure Pat knows who his players are; the problem is getting the right 8 to be able to play on the same week. HP is wounded but not eliminated yet.
ReplyDeleteHP has strong talent and it is just a matter of Jameson getting a full line up. His misfortunes have actually cut us some slack and given our team a glimmer of hope.
ReplyDeleteAs for Gerber, he is on a good roll and you can't argue with his record. I'm tired of hearing how great Harvey is (not that it may be deserved), but then have Mr. Anon bash the other singles players with good records each week. Give the guy credit for what he has done to this point.
kaiser
Kaiser, we did not mean to oblige you.
ReplyDeleteGerber is a very good player. He is an outstanding competitor. He chases balls down that most of us cannot get to. The first time I saw him play, I thought he was a bit raw but had unbelievable potential.
As for Harvey, he is really good; he probably gets more credit than he deserves but he is really good and is probably the strongest player in 3.5 at this time.
