So I think most of the 3.5 and 4.5 reschedules that happened got posted up. HP/Loose seems to be out of it and Noel's team is rolling along but that train my stop as they play OC/Branch this week. Both 4.5 flights seem to be up for grabs and I don't think it will be decided anytime soon. I will take a look at the upcoming weekend matches tomorrow.
3.5 had couple of matches but Oakridge and Brookhaven posted the best results and someone just noted that Westlake and GH are in a 2-2 make up tie with one match to be played this week.
4.0 had some interesting results. In the 1st MOW we beat the Village 3-2, we couldn't have done it without all the anonymous posters and poll voters who picked us. Thanks
In the 2nd MOW BH/Pearlman laid a beatdown on Eagles Landing in shocking fashion winning 5-0. I don't know what to say but WOW! In that same flight Hackberry knocked off dirty Garland B Team (oops were you all the A team?) Team Eddie improved to 2-1 with a sweep and now three teams are tied behind BH at 2-1. Hackberry plays LTF this weekend so that should be good.
In the 3rd MOW TBar M beat the Lakes, I was a little surprised but Shannon Grant seems to be for real, he might even be on DQ watch with the smackdowns he is giving. GH match has yet to be posted but Bartletts team improved to 3-0 as well.
Lifetime's true line-up is the real deal. HP/Bazan keeps squeaking by. BH/Pearlman got a big win and could stay ahead in Flight C with one more win as the back end of their schedule is a cake walk. Eagles Landing is way overrated. OC/Smith is undefeated somehow. Flight D stinks. TBar has inside track.
ReplyDelete2 more weeks and this thing will really take shape.
WOW Kent lost again for HP/Bazan.
ReplyDeleteTrying to avoid the DQ? He is good, but can overhit a bunch.
ReplyDeleteHe already lost last week don't you think that would have kept him from being DQed. Just a thought.
ReplyDeletewhat is Lifetime's true line-up when they play their best eight?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteCarey,
ReplyDeletewhat's up with that?
Lifetime seems to have most of team in place now outside of Eddie. Who knows what the real deal with him is. How many times can HP/Bazan just get by? How good is OC/Smith. What is up with Flight B? No one seems to really want to win it. Top 5 teams.
ReplyDelete1. Lifetime
2. HP/Bazan
3. Brookhaven
4. HP/Somabut
5. OC/Smith
Bazan team not looking very good. Looks to me like Kent moving his target from "not being DQ'd in 4.0", to "going for the 3.5 bump down". Kent going for the hardest hitting 3.5er in the league.
ReplyDeletedirty Garland 3.5ers got smoked as well. surprised by that showing.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure I like any 4.0 teams this season. They all seem to have weakness. Is there just not a strong team out there? I don't see it.
Obviously Lifetime got owned by Brookhaven, but I am not overly impressed with Pearlman either. OC/Smith seems to be a surprise, but were they just bad line-uped into 1st place?
Our best singles player seems obsessed with being bumped to 3.5 and, somabut, well, I still have questions about them.
Barlett looks to be posting some good numbers, but they won't even have their first test until next week.
All I have to say is good thing this isn't the spring, otherwise, Dallas doesn't even make it out of the first day.
And I am talking about Flora and Courtney, not the other team.
ReplyDeleteThose Courtney and Flora beatdowns were... interesting. Flora and Corcoran absolutely handily beat Newman and Voss and then Flora get annhilated by Rosenberg???
ReplyDeletesorry, not Corcoran but Oberto and Flora.
ReplyDeleteI saw Shannon Grant of T-Bar play over the weekend at the Hurst tournament. He's a strong player, very good and consistent groundstrokes, strong volleyer, and good reliable serve. Before you "dq" him on the blog, see how he would do against the best of 4.0, like Forrest, Jenkins and Russell Holt.
ReplyDeleteI would rate him as a legitimate 4.0+ player.
T-Bar has a very powerful 1-2 punch in Shannon Grant and Sam Stollerwerck in singles.
Robert Glenn Rosenberg beating Glen Flora. Now, I have played Rosenberg and I beat him last season, one set he couldn't keep more than three balls in play and then the second set he turned it around. Looks to me like he has improved his consistency. Especially to give Glen a first set bagel.
Westlake seems to have one of those singles players that "really" is not that good, "just" seems to be "lucky" In his last 3 matches has lost 4 games, but "he is just a 3.5 player" that has not played alot of tennis in awhile. Give me a break Haney
ReplyDelete10:24
ReplyDeleteWhat other team?
I am not 10:24 but Garland has a team of either really bad players or guys who want to stay/be 3.5ers. They are in Flight A and are 0-3 in matches and 0-15 in individual lines with the closest match 6-4, 6-4. Most of the time they lose 2&1ish.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but that "other team" was having their weight pulled by just a few guys. there was a mass exodus from 3.5 to 4.0 this season, and none of them had been bumped up to 4.0 for, cough, a reason. I am not sure the "other team" could win their own division in 3.5 the way that this team looks.
ReplyDeleteWow Jonathan, look at you go. I saw input that was interesting from you today.
ReplyDeleteYes, the T Bar M and Weatherby match looked to be quite match.
An easy win for each side in the singles line up, and all 3 doubles going down to 3 set tie breakers.
deciding match in TBar 3-2 win was 11-9 in tiebreaker at line 3
ReplyDeleteI think I am on the T Bar M band wagon. of course, I got on the dirty Garland bandwagon, and wheels came off the first week I got on.
ReplyDeleteI now take Flight D out of the YAWN category.
ReplyDeleteWeatherby loses against Bartlett this weekend, and they have just mailed in their season "return to sender" it looks like they might be a little light on the postage.
P.S. Looks like schitzo Bowman decided to have the right trae Bowman show up last weekend. Easily putting a whooping out there.
I thought Bazan's 15th player was Bowman.
ReplyDeletesteven Kent must be awful to lose like that, I think you playoff teams should go after him at line 1 come playoff time.
ReplyDeleteSTEVE KENT is just pacing himself. STEVE KENT is only giving it about 10% right now.
ReplyDeleteSTEVE KENT sees no real challenge for himself at 4.0 until Eddie returns.
STEVE KENT will show his true greatness in the spring when it counts.
MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteI have 200 ranking points that I can not give away due to inclement weather. But you can buy them from me. $50.00 OBO.
Shamus
Steve Kent for 4.0 president
ReplyDeleteSteve Kent = SANDBAGGER
ReplyDeleteSteven Kent is the most overrated player in 4.0. He thinks he is a sandbagger but is just average.
ReplyDeleteThe only people talking about Kent are his teammates. Most everyone else could give a crap.
ReplyDeleteFor once STEVE KENT is speechless. Are you trying to tell STEVE KENT he is not the best. Are you calling Cary a liar? Cary only let's the best play for his team so you know I am awsome. I demand a poll so everyone can vote for how great STEVE KENT is.
ReplyDeleteHow many Steve Kents are there?
ReplyDeleteHow many Bomans are there?
ReplyDeleteHow many people give a crap about either one?
