Since we are the only group playing, we deserved 4 matches of the week.
Flight A:
Village and High Point both improved to 3-0 to jump to the top. I am guessing Jim rescheduled his match since they had a few out at Sr. Sectionals but I hope they play Brookhaven soon since that should be a good match. Not any great matches this week unless the aforementioned match is rescheduled. Oh wait I guess our 4.0 match of the week v. the Village is a battle of unbeatens, "someone's O has got to go!!" 1 PM at the Village is showdown time, we look forward to it.
Flight B:
Not anything near as interesting as the Garland v. HP showdown of yesterday but both teams need to keep winning so they can try and catch OC who shouldn't have any problems with Stonebriar. LBH Hicks just keeps on silently winning each week as well. These four teams I think are all about even and it will come down to the final weeks to see what happens. I think Garland probably has the toughest match going up against Canyon Creek's best team.
Flight C:
Most of the matches are ho-hum except for the 2nd 4.0 MOW: Eagles Landing v. Brookhaven/Pearlman. I am sure Team Eddie have printed up Eagles Landing t-shirts because a win by EL would benefit them greatly. I like Eagles Landing in this match but it should be close. I think it might depend on BH's big recruit (Mark Jenkins) if he matches up against a strong EL player he could lose and turn this match.
Flight D:
Ah my favorite old flight is going strong as TBar moved to 2-0 as did the Lakes and guess they make up our 3rd 4.0 MOW. I like the Lakes to take this one, did you expect any other pick from me. The other interesting 4.0 MOW has playoff implications (I know its early but I don't see 2 losses this early as something you can come back from in this flight) Greenhill 1-1 v. Stonebridge 1-1. The winner will be in a position to jump up and try and pass the loser from the first match but the loser will be in a very tough spot. I like Greenhill in this matchup I just don't see them losing either singles match and they just need one more after that and I think they have enough talent left to make that happen.
Lifetime had no business losing to BH/Pearlman. EL will win 4-1 with only Jenkins winning in singles.
ReplyDeleteCary, did you watch Lifetime at their match at LBH? Even without Eddie and Forrest, that team should have won easily against Pearlman. What's going on with them?
I think that bazan team wins this 3-2.
ReplyDeleteI am seeing some cracks that I did not think they had though.
Both singles winning of course. And trae Bowman winning his line. How is that for adding pressure?
There is no way that trae will lose his line on Sunday. None.
And I am putting my name behind that prediction.
Bazan on the other hand drops 3 winners into the net, and 2 into the fence. ;)
ReplyDeleteTrae Bowman for president
ReplyDeletehey BMo what happened to your LTF buddy Doug Smith with HP. Didn't even make the line-up in that big match vs Garland. Didn't he used to play with you at LTF. Did you guys cut him too?
ReplyDeleteYowser! Doug is a great guy and somebody that wants to win badly.
ReplyDeleteI think The Village can pull this one out!!!
ReplyDeleteLTF did look good but the LBH team was not that strong. Pearlman's team is good. They go three deep with Mel, Joe and Mark at singles and Mark showed he can play some dubs too. They have some dependable but not crazy good dubs teams but they are deep unlike some teams which is why they do well each season. For example Ludwig/Kraemer are usually playing line 2 or 3 for them and they seem interchangeable with a few other combos they have. Now Ludwig/Kraemer aren't amazing but many teams at 4.0 have large drop off after thei 5th 6th best player and they do not. It is too bad all three of teams can't get in because they are all good. I think the EL v. BH match will be a 3-2 match for sure, I would be shocked to see it go 4-1 or 5-0 for either team.
ReplyDeleteCracks? Hmmm. I am going to buy some spackle this weekend.
He needs to be busy working on his game so he can win some big points and get in the line-up.
ReplyDeletewho is trae bowman.. this guys sucks from what i can tell
ReplyDeleteWhat is with all the Gay comments. Odd. Not sure how my name came up in this stream when I am not even playing. I do believe that the lifetime players that do get on this blog usually state who they are. BMo, Forrest, J Marcus, Wines and Myself. So I am not sure who the "Anonymous Lifetimers" are. Anyway calling me gay is pretty silly and childish. Best of luck to you.. Hope I see you on the court when I get back. Eddie
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. That is like 1st grade humor and just stupid to even read.
ReplyDelete.
How about this. Trae Bowman is a guy that can win his match... OR lose his match. Depends upon which Trae shows up. it was a call out that he has what it takes to win.
ReplyDeleteTrae must not read this much. It would have been much funnier if Trae had written the anonymous reply.
Trae is a great guy and one sexy piece of chocolate.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Marcus is one big piece of sexy chocolate with chocolate pudding on the inside.
ReplyDeleteI think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. TWICE!
ReplyDeletejeez! I just lost my 7-eleven hot dog and slurpee all over my desk! Barf!
ReplyDelete"Sexy piece of chocolate" - that's sexual chocolate to you, idiots!
ReplyDeleteY'all been talking to my wife again or my girlfriend? Ooops!
Thank, BMO, for having my back and you're right I don't know which of my schitzo personalities are going to show up to play a match!
Just show me the way to the Consolation draw! There I'm a Top 10 playa!
The guy looks like James Blake, but plays like Barack Obama
ReplyDeleteor should we say Sarah Palin? Like a girl w no experience?

ReplyDeleteHow did we miss THIS MATCH UP?
ReplyDeleteCary! We need another MOW!!!
4.0 Flight D. OC2 is in the fight for its life to stay out of the tidy bowl.
Match up is
Extra O-C2 v El Ofer-ado followed by Low Point/Loyd the next week. We got some pride on the line on this one.
I am predicting a 4-1 VICTORY for BAZAN TEAM!!!
ReplyDeleteBazan wins this match, and the division is securely locked up ban any major captaining mishaps.
Next stop... PLAYOFFS!!!
Trae is a naughty librarian type.
ReplyDeleteTrae is one sexy piece of chocolate with some chocolate chip buns, milk chocolate skin, and an unbelievabely muscular choclate physique for a tennis player : )
ReplyDeleteDo the ladies post on this site?
ReplyDeleteAll the 3.5 bump ups posting here has turned 4.0 threads into total gayness.
ReplyDeleteIt is just because Eddie is injured and not talking his normal amount of trash each week. Hope for a quick recovery so this thing can get interesting again.
ReplyDeleteMaybe. I think the real problem is that there are so many crappy teams that you don't get the hardcore matches every week accross the board. This week is pretty good, but there are 1-2 teams in each Flight that outclass the rest. Lifetime, of course outclasses them all. Eh hem. Except for BH from week 1 that is... Damn what a bad loss. We wil have to make up for it with nothing but 5-0's the rest of the way.
ReplyDeleteHey Lifetimer, since Eddie doesn't post nearly as much, what's going on with your team? Last year, you swept singles a bunch but that was with Eddie/Wines and Eddie is out and Wines has fallen off. You have Forrest for a few months and he will win every week but who will step up for the #2 spot? Or are you guys focusing on doubles and hope to win 2 out of 3 there every week? And who the hell are you?
ReplyDeleteOther questions (for anyone):
Bazan has the best singles in 4.0 with Kent and Noaman but do they have the doubles teams to get it done?
Greenhill and the Lakes do not look as strong on paper as last season but appear to still have shots at winning their division. Is 4.0 just not as good as last year considering the dilution of HP Somabut as well?
How many teams make the postseason?
There are some 3.5 bump ups that will make some noise before the end of the year. Mark my words! I am one of them.
ReplyDeleteEasy there Bmo, I know its against your nature but let you play do the talking for once in your life!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this had to be one of the best bump up groups, ever. There are so many dominant players that came up to 4.0!
ReplyDeleteI did'nt write that!!!
ReplyDeleteAll right, if you are looking for comments to spice up this thread and get things going. Nothing does that better than a "Top 5" List. How about: Who are the Top Five 3.5 Bump ups in 4.0 Not capable of Making Any Noise in 4.0 League?
ReplyDeleteTop 5 bump ups.
ReplyDelete1. Bmo
2. Bmo
3. Bmo
4. Bmo
5. SnotJock
1.Mudsam
ReplyDelete2.Courtney
3.OC BL/BMO tie
4.Flora(if that is bump, since he was DQed)
5.Defeo (still 3.5?)
Honorable mention:
Oakridge trio: Molina, Prather and Curren.
Any of these can win matches but not sure any will be in the playoffs come November. Can Mudsam play doubles well enough to make the top 8 on Team Eddie or will he play line 2 behind Forrest?
Bazan wins 5-0 this weekend!
ReplyDeleteMudsam is really good. From what I understand he just got back to the team this week after a crazy travel schedule for past month. Wait til he get's in the line-up.
ReplyDeleteRumor has it that Eddie is now a 3.5 with his left hand and may join the line-up soon. No right hand til mid Nov. or next season.
Funny. I am a good 3.5 with groundstrokes and 2.5 Serve left handed. Not ready for anybody's line-up at this point. In a month???? Mudsam is good. Glad to have him back. Good luck to eveyone this weekend. Execpt for Stonbridge/Muniz. Eddie
ReplyDeleteEddie should be like Cary and put himself in the line-up left handed anyway. Even though he is not in the top 8. Cary does it all the time and look where it has gotten him. oh. they went 2-5 last season. Ok maybe not then.
ReplyDeleteFunny.
ReplyDeleteOut of town, heard there was smack talk going on around here. jeez, sucked in even out of town I see.
ReplyDeletesince i am here:
Defeo
Flora
Musdam
The Brinkman
Barnhard (on the undefeated OC team btw)
Have a good weekend Dallas
I hear a lot of high point captains like to put themselves in the lineup in spite of obvious inadequacies.
ReplyDeleteFunny. Rumor has it that Eddie was a 3.5 playing right handed too.
ReplyDeleteHey guys have you all seen my new left handed racket?
ReplyDeleteI love how everyone thinks Lifetime is that great. Watch for Sunday, I predict Stonebridge to pull out a 3-2 victory over Lifetime/Hill causing Eddie to pull out his best Willis Reed/TO or even Dirk impression and resume his playing at #1 Singles. Moving Forrest down to #2.
ReplyDeleteI have inside information that Eddie has gone over to the Kobra Kai Dojo, found a Chinese Master who "healed" his right shoulder and y'all know the rest. :-)
Didn't the Kobra Kai kid get beat by Ralph Machio?
ReplyDeleteThere is a decent turnout for the Brookhaven tourney next weekend. Anyone have any predictions?
ReplyDeleteIf Stonebridge wins more than 1 line vs Lifetime/Hill I will reveal my identity and run around Lifetime naked during the next match played there. Eddie ain't coming back anytime soon. Have you seen him serve Lefty? Not good.
ReplyDeleteWe already know it's you Bazan and no one wants to see that.
