FT Worth Fall 4.0 Play-Offs


The 3.5 Div is top heavy with 5-1 teams,
The 4.5 needs to make up their rain out matches.
However, the 4.0 Div is all done and the 14 team single elimination tournament begins this week end.

Southlake at 6-0 gets a bye and well as the TCU Cowtowners

First round matches
Ridglea Roughnecks(3-3)
vs
Hurst Stars 4.0(2-3)
I have to give the nod to the roughnecks here

ATC Hammers(4-2)
vs
Denton Country Club (Argyle)(0-6)
Denton CC can barely get out of their own way,ATC all the way

Flower Mound(3-3)
vs
Walnut Creek(2-4)
Both these teams have been soft in singles this year, Team FM gets the win, Home court may figure in here.

RTC Coyotes 4.0(3-3)
vs
The Old Gang (ATC)(2-4)
The old gang had a tuff team in the spring, not sure what happened in the fall, they dad several 2-2 losses, I pick them for the upset.

RTC Wylie 4-2
vs
River Crest 1-4
Wylie has a good team and should roll here

TCU Armadillos 4-1
vs
RTC Tims 2-3
TCU could have finished first in their Div if they would have made up the rain out, Tims has a good team if he can get the right players to show up, Tims pulls the upset.

    How quickly people fall from Grace. Just 3 months ago all the love about the graphics... Now WTF? Marc, have to agree though. If u have Ft Worth readers, then sure, but I don't think there are. I think its time for u to comeback to the Dallas league next season. Find a start up team of about 11 guys that want to play every week, and work on your games. No one on this site cares about Ft Worth until the end od spring.

    I think not,
    Believe it or not there are people who play in both Dallas & FTW,

    Maybe anon should get off his ass and join a FTW team?

    This blog is big enough for more than Just Dallas 3.5,4.0, and 4.5

    Dallas is over, you have choked to death on your own retched excess, fancy USTA wrist bands and Socks.

    It just a matter of time until the women and seniors show up,
    Plus Flex league, tournaments,and juniors.

    Although it seems ridiculous that this many teams make the playoffs, I kind of like the March Madness-style format where any team can get on a roll and win the whole thing. But really, a 1-4 team in the playoffs. Makes the regular season seem pretty meaningless right Mark??

    What the hell is wrong with you people? Did your Mother's drop you on your heads at birth? Father's sodomize you? Did a 60 yr old 3.0 lady beat you at singles? I just cannot understand why the negative,degrading, rude and childish comments about an interesting article on a neighboring league (not to mention someone who took time to write it - without his and fellow contributors there would be no blog!). If you are going to be so f'ing juvenile go and blog with the teenagers about playstation games or whatever it is they do. This is a blog for adults about ADULT tennis. Grow up!

    On a tennis note: It is confusing that teams with a losing record make the play-offs. I guess the FW league wants to keep more teams involved for more of the season.

    I have developed a thick skin in the 3.5 forum so no worries,
    generally every Anon thinks this blog is here just for them and any talk not specific to them is met with childish hatred.

    The FTW 4.0 league was only 14 teams,
    The thought by the League coordinator Steve Miller, Decided to flight the teams into 2 divisions, Each Div would play 6 matches, then the Single elimination play-off,
    This way each team gets at least 7 matches,
    Seemed like a good Idea.

    Thanks for the update on the fall league. I played this format in a So Cal league once in the fall season. I think it is a good idea. The only did it once and tried something else the next time around. I thought it was fun. I think in Dallas you would have to take the top 1/2 since there are too many teams.
