Anon 2 gets majority of predictions, but misses on some big upsets.
Flight A - Westlake stumbles losing to Stonebridge 3-2, leaving the door open for Stonebridge and High Point, each with 2 losses. Westlake has to take on undefeated Garland this weekend which will not be an easy task. Should they lose, they too will have 2 losses. Stonebridge and HP meet up as well and the winner will be in the running and the loser will be done. This flight has the most excitement coming up this weekend.
Flight B - Anon 2 gets this flight right (still waiting on results from Lakes/Stonbriar match..... C'mon captains, get your scores recorded in a timely manner!) Huffhines is now in the #1 slot and should stay there after this weekend going up against a winless Stonebridge. Fretz is right there as well and it looks like it will be these two teams finishing on top of this flight.
Flight C - Brookhaven gets bent over by Oak Creek in a 5-0 dessimation, with not even one line being close. Brookhaven will now have to win the rest of their matches to stay in there and fend off the Village. Does Lifetime have what it takes to give an upset this week against Brookhaven? The current top 2 teams in this flight (Oak Creek and Village) don't match up until the final week.
Match ups of the week: Westlake at Garland, Stonebridge at High Point, Lifetime at Brookhaven.
Austin went to the finals in 3.5. A team that beat Garland 3-2 I believe. That was a pretty good showing for Texas.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the playoff format yet for 3.5? Will there be a QT like in the spring?
ReplyDeleteno QT in the fall. just the top 2 teams from each flight.
ReplyDeleteThere is no advantage in finishing first in your flight.
ReplyDeletenice write up captain fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHow bad does lifetime really suck. Wow, that ship sunk quickly.
ReplyDeleteHuffines is the best team out there. Strong singles and doubles. Way to go Ed...
ReplyDeleteDidn't Huffines lose to Fretz?
ReplyDeleteHuffines will crush gtc! 4-1!
ReplyDeleteHuffhines did lose to Fretz 3-2 and were swept in doubles in straight sets. Both Huffhines and Fretz seem to be getting better in Flight B and look like the top finishers. Fretz's last win was a 5-0 sweep of Highpoint. Their only loss was against Gleneagles (wtf?) early on.
ReplyDeleteOak Creek did a great job and has figured it out. Brookhaven has some really big and deep holes in their line ups. All the Village has to do is work Brookhaven’s weaknesses. No one on Brookhaven’s team is that strong. Some of the guys can volley but they can’t move, others have a great forehand and absolutely no backhand, etc. All the Village needs to do is work Brookhaven’s weaknesses!
ReplyDeleteVillage is not that strong of a team and will be crushed by O.C. They will still likely finish 2nd in the weakest flight C and make it to the playoffs, only to get humiliated.
ReplyDeleteBH already played Village and beat them 3-2. So there is nothing for them to figure out. BH wins out, they are in playoffs. Village loses to OC (which is likely), they will have two loses.
ReplyDeleteWestlake upsets GTC'S OVERRATED double line's 2 and 3 splits singles and wins the match!
ReplyDeleteLTF upsets Brookhaven and gives them the loss that keeps them from the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI just want to know what happened to all those shit talkers at the beginning of the year calling LTF and Eschelmann a bunch of cheaters? Eschelmann is barely 50% at 3.5. hardly a ringer. see how u guys scream and shot about stuff, and then its not true?
ReplyDeleteu should start off, "hi, i was a complainer and crier about eschelmann before league even started, but now i know that i am just a baby". admitting it is the first step to becoming a recovering baby.
ReplyDeleteHey Lakes or Stonebriar captain it's late afternoon Tuesday. Are you going to report the score? If you don't have time you shouldn't be captain.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't count out Sam Grand in Flight C. Although they had a DQ, they still have matches left with LFT, Brookhaven and Canyon Creek. If they win out, they are in.
ReplyDeleteEschelman is sandbagging as he will lead ltf to victory next season. suck it
ReplyDeletethose must be some heavy sandbags, if he is going to carry LTF to victory next season. He better practice playing on three courts at once during the off season.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the person thinking Westlake beats GTC. I will give GTC Clark/Wiley and Stein is probably good for a singles win but Westlake will get the other 2 doubles lines because GTC is overrated.
ReplyDelete2:45 PM Anon poster -
ReplyDeleteSam Grand has already played LTF and lost due to their stupid captain getting their best singles player DQ'd. They still have to play Brookhaven, Village and Canyon Creek, and I would say without their singles player, they will lose 2 of the 3. Thus, I am counting Sam Grand OUT !!!
eshelman is a piece of crap 4.0 player. he is just tanking to get his computer 3.5 for next season. how dumb are r u?
ReplyDeletewhen he kills everyone at 3.5 next year you pricks will tell us how much he has improved.
Big John -
ReplyDeleteWhat time is the match with Westlake on Sunday? This is definitely more exciting to watch than the Cowboys. Are you going to have beer and popcorn?? Also, you think you can get a security guard to watch the parking lot if it becomes dark ?? Hate to say, but your neck of the woods gets a little shady at night time.
Anon 2 -
ReplyDeleteWhere art thou predictions oh great Carnac ?? What is thoust call ? GTC or Westlake ?? Will Wiley play line 3 with a pulled groin ?? Will Stein take another single victory ?? We want details, and we want them now so we can place our bets !!
yeah that was a bad move on the part of Sam Grand's captain...that really cost them. Otherwise they'd be in second place with a good shot at the playoffs. Their doubles may carry them, but I agree it will be tough for them to sweep without their #1 singles player.
ReplyDelete1:00pm for Westlake/Gtc and no security---but you'll be out before dark,so it is ok. Identify yourself for a cerveza. It is only my neck of the woods on match/practice day. We do like the center, and enjoy all the fellowship and beer afterwards.
ReplyDeleteSo is Huffines fall team better than their spring team?
ReplyDeletegive me a break...
ReplyDeleteIf you need anyone DQed, please contact me as I am the man at 3.5 and will get anyone playing out of level DQed or your money back.
ReplyDeleteBig Bird
Big Bird, where have you have been? You and your guys sure have been awful quite lately. I guess having a crappy record has shut you up.
ReplyDeleteIt's because we lost the mighty Alan Gerber. We are no longer any good because we lost his sure win.
ReplyDeleteBig bird
This blog has sucked since losing the likes of Eddie and Big Ego Gerber.
ReplyDeletePredictions!!
ReplyDeleteFlight A
BH 3-2 over DCC
GTC 3-2 over Westlake
HP 3-2 over Stonebridge
Hackberry 4-1 over CC
Royal Oaks 3-2 over Springpark
GTC will pull it out against Westlake as they always do. Good match between HP and Stonebridge and the who cares match of the week goes to Royal Oaks versus Springpark.
Flight B
HP 3-2 over GH
Fretz 4-1 over OC
Huffines 4-1 over Stonebridge
Lakes 3-2 over Gleneagles
Two interesting match ups this week with lakes and Gleneagles facing off and I am not a believer in Gleneagles, Lakes takes it. HP and GH should be a close match, HP wins and stays in the hunt. Fretz and Huffines roll and one or both may win 5-0.
Flight C
BH 3-2 over LTF
OC 5-0 over LBH
Village 3-2 over Sam Grand
JCC 4-1 over El Dorado
Villages will sweep doubles and win 3-2 versus Sam Grand, you heard it here first. LTF is done, they will put up a small fight but BH wins. The who cares match of the week is JCC versus El Dorado.
Anon 12:49 poster -
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. Gerber will be back before you know it.
Anon 2 -
ReplyDeleteThanks for the predictions great Carnac!!
i see a 5-0 loss by lifetime this week.
ReplyDeleteI see BH 4-1 over LTF and Sam Grand 3-2 over Village.
ReplyDeleteWho asked if Huffines Fall team is stronger than the Spring team!
ReplyDeleteNot even close. The Spring Team could dominate the Fall team. I think the Spring team lost about 6 or 7 players to 4.0 bump ups.
Seems like a legit question. Unlike Lifetime, who everyone knows is much worse this fall.
ReplyDeleteAnd what brilliant team are you a part of Anon??
ReplyDeleteWestlake
ReplyDeleteLTF
ReplyDeletezzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeletecan't someone come up with something exciting to talk about on this blog.
Well you don't have LTF coming up with fake drama like in the spring.
ReplyDeleteBeing the Captain of both teams let me answer the question about which team was stronger. Oleg and Chris Jones would both win at Singles, then the doubles matches would be very competive. It would be difficult to match up because of returning players. But I think the fall team could possibly Win 2 of the 3 which would make the count 3-2 Spring Team Winning. My present fall team is alittle more balanced with more depth.
ReplyDeleteYea, once Klemecke got bumped it was all over for Lifetime, the rest of those posers where just coat tailing on him.
ReplyDeleteHUffines Spring team does not compare to the Fall team. Give me a break. The lost of Sam, Oleg, Chris, Enrique, Mark, and Larry R, killed that team. The Spring team would win 3-0 times every time. Not even close.
ReplyDeleteKlamecki didn't join Lifetime's roster until the last 2 games of the season. He definitely helped us in the playoffs, but I wouldn't say we "rode his coat tail". There were other key players that helped throughout the season including DeMetsenaire, Arcaria, Bennett, and Gerber to name a few.
ReplyDeletelevel 4.5 seems to have an adopted a A league/B league approach to setting up flights. id like to see the dta do the same with 3.5 in the spring. that would make better matches for everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like 3.5 did adopt an unbalanced league flight. Flight A is tougher than B and B is tougher than C.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was looking ast Oak Creek's record in Flight C and wonder if they can beat Sisk's team. They beat everyone really bad. Sisk's team has not done that.
ltf kaiser, Really? How did those guys do in the playoffs? Klemecke always won and those other names you mentioned choked! Just the reality of it.
ReplyDeleteKlamecki should of joined Huffines, they would have gone to nationals. Bad move on Klamecki's part for not seeing that.
ReplyDeleteKlamecki should have joined GTC and then they go to Nationals. Wiley should have joined Huffhines and then they go to Nationals. Jones should have joined LTF then they would have made it. In the end, the top three free agent hired guns in Dallas made no difference because their teams ended up exactly where they would have been had they not played. They each won all their matches but their teams fell short.
ReplyDeleteHad Klamecki, Wiley and Jones all go to the same team, then that would have been a difference but when they ended up on three different teams, that doomed them all.
yep, those guys were dumb shits. in the spring we need to get all our top 3.5 players on one team and get an excellent cap to run the show.
ReplyDeleteIn the spring the top 3.5 team will again be Garland/Sisk with Huffines and Greenhill close behind.
ReplyDeleteOak Creek has a chance to make waves as well. LTF has kept Eshelman under wraps so they'll have 1 ringer in the spring but will need more. High Point has good but not real good teams. They wont be a factor in 2010. Everyone else does not have a prayer.
The fall league is just about protecting your NTRP rating. Sisk has a lot of new guys just going thru the motions in the fall _ so he can roll out another 3.5 powerhouse in the spring.
Anon 10:18. You're an idiot and it's hard to take your opinions seriously since you don't have your facts straight. You claim Greenhill will be in the top 3 teams in the spring. Bob Kayser's powerhouse 3.5 team is now playing 4.0 and the remaining Greenhill 3.5team is truly awful. Do some research before posting.
ReplyDeleteKlamecki is a 4.0 player. He got bumped up last year. Oh, yea .... he's also a big pus.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon 10/19/09 7:02AM. The Austin team that beat Garland was the Wild Austin team that lost in the semis at Texas Sectionals. Garland never made it deep enough in the competition to play the premiere Austin team that placed 2nd at Nats.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Lifetime the only Dallas team last year to be GTC ?? And wasn't it with Gerber and Chan taking down his singles, not Klamecki ??
ReplyDeleteThe guy Gerber beat from Garland broke his racquet and had to borrow one from someone if I remember correct
ReplyDeleteFor the naive posters out there . . .
ReplyDeleteGreenhill is 1-3 at level 4.0 and a bunch of those guys will be back playing 3.5 in 2010. It happens every year. (Do some research!) They'll also come up with a ringer or two and will again be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the spring.
GTC has a handful of excellent players managing their scores. They'll be hell in the spring. That's a fact. Only Garland anon posters deny it.
Yes I am a score manager! I admit it. I go to therapy every week to help me stop managing my scores but yet no success. It's tough being a score manager because sometimes that lowly 3.5 makes things close but at last the 3.5 double faults and I break him and go on to win. Then I go and tell everybody that I am a score manager so I can feel better that I confessed.
ReplyDeleteMost of us are score managers. That's the way the system works.
ReplyDeleteI SEEM TO REMEMBER A GROUP OF 12 OR 13 SENIOR PLAYERS WHO WERE GIVEN BASELINE 4.0 NTRP RATINGS LAST YEAR _ BUT ILLEGALLY APPEALED BACK DOWN TO 3.5.
ReplyDeleteTHEIR APPEALS WERE APPROVED DUE TO A COMPUTER GLITCH. AND THE COWARDS AT THE TEXAS USTA DID NOT REVERSE THE ILLEGAL APPEALS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO RUFFLE ANY FEATHERS.
DIDNT THAT GROUP INCLUDE KAYSER AND A BUNCH OF HIS FRIENDS?
"The guy Gerber beat broke his racquet and had to borrow someone else's.". Give me a f_ing break you loser. He did break a string and used his own bcakup racquet. Even if he had to use someone else's, that would be a fault of his own and a lame ass excuse. Bottom line, he was beaten.
ReplyDelete"Baseline" 4.0 rankings or do you mean "Benchmark"? Sounds like MR ANGRY TYPER is confused on how the USTA rating system works.
ReplyDeleteHowever, is there any validity to his claim?
Using another racquet at the end of a match, at this level, probably hindered the guy
ReplyDeleteyep a bunch of benchmark 4.0s in Dallas were allowed to appeal back down to 3.5 last year. most were seniors.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping my blueprint for the Spring was going to be:
ReplyDelete1s Fonseca
2s Wickman
1d Clark/ Wiley
2d Hess/ Heath
3d Sisk/ Klameci
that would be a strong spring team for nationals Sisk
ReplyDeletelet me guess, Klamecki only wanted to play singles so he went to Lifetime and not Garland?
ReplyDeleteHigh Point sucks and Sisk is a cheating scumbag. But LTF will be back big time in the spring.
ReplyDeleteOur LTF 3.5 team is in total disarray. We are losing and guys are complaining. It's no longer fun.
ReplyDeleteWe need a new captain in the spring and we need to recruit a few new ringers.
- Kenny
i agree with kenny. we need some changes at LTF level 3.5 and it has to start with bill stepping down for the benefit of the team. we need a smart captain going forward.
ReplyDeleteA good captain is more valuable than a true ringer as neither will get you anywhere without the other. It is not easy being a captain and I surely wouldn't want to be one but there are very few good captains in the area (maybe a handful including all levels) so step up and become the captain yourself if you think you can do it better. Don't be surprised when you find out how hard it actually is.
ReplyDeleteKenny,
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you be our captain in the spring? The guys will all suppport you!
3.5 Lifetimer
Village loses today 4-1 to Sam Grand...looks like second place in flight C is going to come down to the winner between Brookhaven and Sam Grand, who haven't played yet. Must have been a rainout since it was scheduled several weeks ago. Wonder when the makeup is??
ReplyDeleteI see Garland squeeked by on its doubles again today beating Westlake 3-2 but losing both singles lines. Garland has 8 individual losses so far and 6 were in singles.
ReplyDeleteoops
ReplyDeletemake up match between Brookhaven and Sam Grand is evidently next Saturday. Winner should snag 2nd place and go to playoffs!!
ReplyDeletewho is the scumbag posting as Kenny? we don't believe you.
ReplyDeleteKaiser is an o.k. guy and a good captain. He isn't the best player, but he knows it and it doesn't affect his judgement.
Go f yourself.
Lifetimer
sam grand and brookhaven should be a good match next Saturday...they both have some quality wins...I would have to give a slight edge to sam grand based on their scores thus far...sam grand also has Canyon Creek left next Sunday while BH has LBH on Nov 8.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mrs Kaiser! It's always nice to hear from you.
ReplyDelete- Kenny
Me thinks that Sisk has some serious singles problems.
ReplyDeleteme thinks sisk is saving his best singles players for the spring
ReplyDeleteSisk has 23 players on his roster. Are you kidding me ?? I am sure there is a singles player in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteLTF's problem is not their captain, it's their lack of a dependable singles player that can bring in a win each week. The doubles lines are average but to often it come down to 3rd set tie breaks and without one strong singles line the result is too often a loss of 2-3 against LTF.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a good singles player FOR THE COMING SPRING on a team probably going nowhere head to GTC!
ReplyDeleteIf Sisk has any singles players, he might should start using them. GTC was a 3rd set tiebreak in doubles from losing to Westlake and High Point.
ReplyDeleteSisk has good doubles but he needs at least one singles player.
Look for unknown names who've play a couple doubles matches at D2 or D3... that's where I'd hide my best singles guys for Spring.
ReplyDeleteThe BigTurd at Lifetime has to go for us go get better. That's pretty obvious.
ReplyDeleteIf I know Sisk, and I think I do... you can count of the fact that those singles loss's are tank jobs! He is just trying to get his selfrated "ringers" a computer rating for the spring and he will not risk getting them bumped to 4.0 or DQ ed just for some meaningless fall team record!!!
ReplyDeleteyep all those single losses by so many different players are all tank losses. Yep you do know Sisk.
ReplyDeleteActually, for you Lifetime, you guys just have to become better players. Its not just about recruiting, its about getting better.
ReplyDeleteAnon : October 26, 2009 2:56 PM
ReplyDeleteI agree, the problem is people just turn up once a week and expect to win matches. A few turn up for practice however how beneficial that is is debatable.
To get better one needs to look at their game and establish where their strengths and weaknesses are and get professional help to correct them.
BigTurd does need professional help!
ReplyDeleteIf we could get Sisk to captain our Lifetime team and Bigbird to captain GTC. Then LTF would win the DCC in 2010. No question about it.
ReplyDelete- Kenny
Upcoming DQ Alert - Westlake found themselves a singles ringer but he won't be around for long. Self-rated Randy Baker has put a 0 & 1 and 1 & 2 beat down on his only 2 opponents this season the past 2 weeks. One more lopsided win and he'll be DQ'd for sure.
ReplyDeleteNot really Kenny. You would also have to exchange the players too.
ReplyDeleteSisk has 23 players on his 3.5 fall roster _ with a lot of new faces. You can bet ur ass he has 3 or 4 singles players that are way out of level at 3.5. But he'll get them in a couple dbl matches and they'll have their 3.5 ratings at year-end. This scumbag learned his lesson when Flora was DQed in 2008.
ReplyDelete23 players and Sisk hasnt yet even started recruiting for the spring season. No 3.5 Dallas team will be able to compete with GTC in 2010.
Puerto Rico can.......they have different guidelines, bagels are delish down there.
ReplyDeleteSir Scumbag (Somabut of 3.5)
After all of Huffhines 4.0 players are rerated to 3.5 they will have as strong of a team as Garland in the Spring. They have only Won 2 lines in 5 matches. Talk about all the losses. Are they really trying to win at 4.0???? Prather,Molina,Anderson,Burt,Robinsprobably Reitzer and all the Westlake Guys. Those guys alone would be a good team. Add them to the Fall team.Powerhouse!!!!
ReplyDeletenice to see oleg and jones didn't partake in that bull crap
ReplyDeleteLooks like people are learning from Sisk to tank the fall.
ReplyDeleteI will post a new thread after the weekend.
ReplyDeleteBig match ups this weekend is Westlake vs. Highpoint in flight A, both fighting for 2nd place.
Flight B seems set with Huffhines and Fretz, both should finish the season with just 1 loss each.
Flight C - Brookhaven and SamGrand make up match to determine 2nd place in this flight. Should Brookhaven lose, Sam Grand, Brookhaven and Village will all be dueling it out with 2 losses each. However, Village still has to face Oak Creek which will most likely give them loss # 3 and take them out of the picture.
If Sam Grand beats Brookhaven, they take sole possession of 2nd place by virtue of their head to head wins vs BH and Village. Sam Grand also has Canyon Creek left on Sunday. Win out and they're in.
ReplyDeleteHead to head doesn't count in standings (for some reason). If the records are tied, it comes down to the tiebreakers (matches won, sets lost, etc). So Saturday's match still won't be the deciding factor if Sam Grand beats BH. If BH wins out, they are in by virtue of record. If the three teams are tied with 2 losses, it won't be decided until the final weekend.
ReplyDeleteI smell tank a job for the Huffines team. Come on. With all those players they can only pull out 2 wins. Wow. How can the players stand for that. TANK TANK!
ReplyDeleteFlight A:
ReplyDeleteI think Westlake beats HP. Winner is the flight's bridesmaid. GTC is on cruise control until playoffs. GTC needs only win one of their final two matches to win the flight.
Flight B:
Huffhines, Fretz and HP are effectively on bye weeks. HP needs someone to lose and I don't see it happening.
Flight C
OC is on cruise control and should win the flight. That Sam Grand DQ is really hurting because they would surely get second with their DQ. OC wins and SG comes in second in this flight.

So which is worse? Obvious tanking to get back to 3.5 or self rates who kick ass and then move on to 4.0. You may not like either but I'm better with the one and done self rate. These retreads are like the awkward rash you just can't seem to get rid of.
ReplyDelete+1 on the low self rater over the tanker. The low self rater can make an honest mistake or be a person who was out of practice and just got back to level a little faster than anticipated. The deliberate tanker does not make an innocent mistake.
ReplyDeleteAnon 9:17 - obviously you haven't checked the score boards in two months. John has two undefeated teams and no consistent losing, even on his 4.0 B team. Maybe he didn't get the message that he was supposed to be tanking in the fall because it looks like he's kicking ass without regard to who will be bumped at year end. Facts just don't support your allegations...again.
ReplyDeleteWe need someone to organize a team to specifically plan to get to Nationals and de-throne the Carribean. We also need some friends in the Austin office to help us get there and compete.
ReplyDeleteJock,I thought thats what Big John Sisk is trying to do.
ReplyDeleteHow bout some love for team Fretz???
ReplyDeleteThey've been dominant and demolished the flight leader Huffines
FRETZ RULZ!!!!!!!!
Fretz will get there love in the playoffs when they get there asses kicked.
ReplyDeleteHey guy's get off Jacques!!!! He's right!!! Austin was strong at sectionals and made it to the final at Nationals--GREATNESS! They, like us, didn't split sets w/ Puerto Ricans--- They rolled over Austin.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone had not noticed... the Carribean team rolls most years at 3.0/3.5. I guess they did not get the memo that there are higher levels.
ReplyDeleteJacques is right about putting a tru super team together but there are too many egos and too much anymosity between the teams. If you took the best of GTC/LTF/HP/OC/GH/Huffhines and added a few quiet self rates, then it could be done but there is no way that this many egos could coexist.
Fretz demolished the Huffs? I got no dog in this hunt but from where I come from 3-2 ain't no demolishing.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if a superteam would have even worked last year. If you put the top 11 in the area (3 dsingles/4 doubles lines for depth), we still can't find 2 singles ringers in the whole city.
ReplyDeleteMy choice would have been:
Singles
1) Oleg Yaremenko
2) Chris Jones (could be used in doubles)
3) Marc Klamecki (could be used in doubles)
Doubles
1) Jerry Palacioz
2) Stephen Bennett
3) Sean Arcaria
4) Enrique Molina (could be used in singles too)
5) Keith Clark
6) Dennis Demetsenaere
7) Glenn Strohl
8) Zach Stein (could use in singles too)
Still, I don't think this team is good enough to win nationals and maybe not good enough to get out of sectionals.
Drop Molina (no offense Enrique) and add Wade Varner. Having played with both, IMHO at least, Varner is definitely superior.
ReplyDeleteSam Grand sweeps their weekend matches vs. Brookhaven (4-1) and Canyon Creek (3-2). Looks like they are the second place team in Flight C and will make the playoffs...could be a sleeper. What happened to Brookhaven and Village battling it out for second in this flight?
ReplyDeleteDrop Strohl and add Wiley too. I would take a doubles team of Wiley/Varner against any combination of those players you want to put up.
ReplyDeleteThat team would have beat the Austin team who made it to the national 3.5 finals. 4-1 at worst.
ReplyDelete
