Mid Season Ratings are out

Start your appealing......

How do I appeal my rating down? Click here for the official online appeal form. You will be asked to 'register' for a team. Put in your USTA number along with the team number 0000540822 for women or 0000540823 for men. You will get a note that your rating is too high for the team entered and will see the option to appeal your rating. When you do appeal, the system will immediately determine whether you are within the allowable range. If your appeal is granted, it will be automatically and immediately changed. If denied, then your appeal cannot be granted. There is no appeal fee or deadline

  1. Terrance Joseph Wickman not on the list,
Heard he played College tennis in IA.

Sisk better put him in the fridge for the fall and bring him back out in the spring next year.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Eddie Hill 4.5, Damn...
    Good luck with that Eddie

    ReplyDelete
  3. Mudsam from 3.5 to 4.5 in one season,
They must have some good teaching pros at lifetime.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Lifetime Bump ups:

    Eddie Hill
    Andre Vahdat
    Johan Mudsam
    Brian Morrison
    Brandon Myers
    Bryan Kennedy
    Brian Studey

Still not enough to hang with HP and possibly Tbar.

  5. Thanks for the post Marc. I was just leaving the house so it was good to take a look at these.

Can't do an appeal quite yet, anyone have a 4.0 number for some league somewhere?

LTF was the big loser/winner? Losing 5 (Kennedy, BMO, Hill, Mudsam and Myers).

4.5ers are you ready for Eddie Hill? OMG

    ReplyDelete
  6. Now we need to start the All-Wuss List for all of the appealers.

    ReplyDelete
  7. The Fall teams are being formed as we speak. Look for a large number of bump ups to have horrible fall seasons. Happens every Fall. That is why, for the most part, Fall leagues are a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  8. If BMO is a 4.5 and Bazan is still a 4.0, I'm playing open next season.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yep I agree I thought the BMO bump was odd but playing on my 4.5 team probably didn't help him. I think he could win an appeal but the rest of them are probably out of luck.

You are welcome on the 4.5 team guys, yep even you Eddie. Actually looking for a co-cap. We could be the loudest team in the city, state, country, world???

    ReplyDelete
  10. You can also appeal up.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not guessing there is a lot of appeals up, but I have heard of a couple.

    ReplyDelete
  12. A number of players who were bumped up on this list will win their appeals, so tap the breaks for now. Just because they appear doesn't mean they won't be back playing at their previous level in the fall.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wickman has nothing to fear unless he self-rated this season and misrepresented on the questionnaire.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Seven guys from one team is impressive. That's almost enough to field a full team.

    ReplyDelete
  15. It seems like last year almost any player who appealed won their appeal. That's why I'm not convinced that mid season rating are good for anything but giving bumped players a heads up so they can work their way down to their previous rating by the end of year ratings.

Cowardly and unethical thing to do, but is is done all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  16. If anyone has enough free time on their hands and can break down which players from which local teams were bumped, it would be interesting to see.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Since Wickless apparently played college (if they even existed back then) and he didn't rate at 4.5 to begin with, he may be screwed. What did he major in, cow tipping?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Notable bumps to 5.0

OC Branch - Branch, Kiron, Kern
    Huffhines - McCord, Fair
    Brookhaven - Dutta
    Royal Oaks - Molina
    HP - Pham, Tankersley
    Springpark - Underwood (umm ok)
OC Feldman - None (sleeps with the computer)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I thought Wickman wrestled in college.

    ReplyDelete
  20. HP Somabut bump ups:

    Doug Smith
    Keith Robinson
    Christopher Featherstone
    Dencil Johnson

Four having the luxury of trying to hide and protect players by winning the Fall League.

    ReplyDelete
  21. He wrestled with farm animals!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Question: If a self rate doesn't get bumped up at mid season, can they still be DQ'd or are they considered computer rates now? if they can, do flags carry over to the fall? Why is this so confusing?

    ReplyDelete
  23. TbarM bump ups:

    Lee Hamilton
    Rene Grossman
    Glenn Henderson
    Mark Fitch
    Shannon Grant
    Brian Colao

Six, not counting Sam Stollenwerck who should be bumped in the end of year ratings. A lot of Tbar's bump ups would probably win their appeals due to the experience(age) factor.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hopefully Terry Wickman will play this weekend so he can be DQ'd. Leave it to Sisk to cheat once again.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Where did you hear Wickman played college tennis at? Where you at the local retirement center? Its so sad that people say things that they "HEARD" as the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  26. anon 9:40 you must of been beaten by the 60year old guy and you are jealous that you cant play at the 3.5 level.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dirty Garland bump ups:

    Steve Carnley

That's it and he got bumped getting wins in a very weak Ft Worth league.

Hard to imagine that this is going to be the team to roll over everyone, but that's why they play the matches.

  32. For the record, I will be looking for the pussy-alert button. I'm not a 4.5 competitive player IMO - Yet!

Seriously though, with the big push by USTA to spread out the levels so that 80% of the members aren't 3.5-4.5 (I am a conspiracy theorist), I was very surprised that:

More 4.5 people were not pushed up to 5.0. (Will look like 4.0 this year with a lot of uncompetitive matches)

More players did not get bumped up from some of the other undefeated teams as well.

I imagine the 5.0 push is going to happen at the end of fall to spread out the players levels more.

    ReplyDelete
  33. And you played college tennis at grambling college in 1985. that was easy to type and make up!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I played at Stanford in 1982 against my soon to be wife!

More players will probable earn end of year bump ups during the DCC and Sectionals.

  36. How Jerry Defeo didn't get bumped up is beyond me. Good job captain Sisk.

  37. above poster is right about terry wickman. can he be dq'd now? check out the # 5 mens singles in this link - http://www.northcentralconference.org/Record_Book/08_Updates/08_Ten.pdf

  38. The only thing Wicman did in college was play with himself, cause he couldn't bag an ugly Iowan if he tried.

  42. a person with the odd name of terry wickman played tennis 30 plus years ago? sounds like proof to me!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Wish I could use this picture as a demonstration of the people that should be bumped up and were bumped up... but it is implied.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You can trace him quite easily, stop defending him GTC boys. He was military then went back to college afterwards and played tennis. I hope Sisk gets nailed on this one just to put a dent in his cheating ass ways.

    ReplyDelete
  45. if wickman played and its against the rules then he should be out but a name only trace to playing tennis 30 years ago isnt proof. Bet we could find a lot of our names in the college tennis archives.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Would you be happier if you saw an actual picture of him with his girl Betsy, utters and all?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Why don't the midseason ratings get determined after all the spring playoffs have ended?

    ReplyDelete
  48. The guy bragged about playing college tennis in Iowa, so you Garland defender's are calling him a liar as well? If I was a captain i would be calling tta/dta.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i'm sure a quick call to the university of northern iowa to confirm his attendance would be very easy.

That would be a tough find

Here it is—Terrance's authorized biography. Check out Terrance's Q&A for some personal factoids.

    Life
    Hello.

I enjoy ranching and playing tennis.

Currently I am working for the Department of Veterans Affairs as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Operations. I also am an adjunct faculty at a local college and am a LTC in the US Army Reserve. I enjoy working on my ranch in the country that is about 45 minutes from Dallas. Although I have a nice home on a golf course I do not play golf very well. To stay in shape I play tennis about 4 times per week. I work a great deal to support my two sons... one in college at the U of Texas and the other has a dream of being a pro hockey player. My wonderful wife Diana Rhodes is from North Carolina. She was an all state basketball player and is simply a beautiful person in every respect. I hope to retire in about two years or when I make full Colonel. Since I have completed a PhD I expect that it is possible that I may continue to teach part-time upon retirement.

    ReplyDelete
  51. For you idiots that just type stuff without knowing the rules, see the below link.
Depending on the age of the player and his college ranking along with D1, D2, etc, it states where someone should self rate.

    http://tiny.cc/ZcJAo

If this guy is 60, he might be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  52. As stated earlier, the guy is fine if he didn't misrepresent on the questionnaire when self-rating.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If he was 18 when he graduated in 1972, he would be 55 now, NOT 60.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If he actually graduated in 1972 he is not 60. Probably mid-50s.

  56. UNI is a Div 1 school

    ReplyDelete
  57. Wow. There are some real losers on here who have a lot of free time on their hands.

    ReplyDelete
  58. What is doesn't mention in Wickman's autobiography is that he's a big pussy for playing 3.5 tennis after playing college. Just like Oleg Yaremenko. I don't care how old he is, he's beating up on everyone unless instructed to tank by Sisk in doubles.

Both of those guys are Big Twats and should be embarrassed.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Not good, I think I just felt the earth shake from Sisk falling to the ground hearing of this news!

    ReplyDelete
  60. No kidding, I am happy our military are so ethical!! I expect more than cheating in Dallas tennis and beating up on 3.5 tennis players while throwing games!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't know if that's the case here, but there seems to be enough cheating going on in the local leagues. The only way to keep the league honest unfortunately is for people to come forward with information if other players really are misrepresenting their experience or ability.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes and I smell the huge tird Sisk layed his pants all the way in FW, from when he heard the news.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Because Oleg was no longer a self rate he could not be dq'd, he had a computer rating at one point. Wickman is a self rate right now and the system most likely would not let him self rate at a 3.5 having played college tennis unless he lied about it. Maybe Sisk did not know being the guy is so old.

    ReplyDelete
  64. "Sisk is too smart to have player get DQ'd."

Man, I hate comments like these. It's one thing for a player to cheat, but another to imply that it's good captaining to cheat or to promote cheating.

Sisk's name just happened to be used by the poster, but my beef applies to captains in the general sense.

    ReplyDelete
  65. "Sisk is too smart to have player get DQ'd."

    That sounds like a challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  66. When a guy boasts about playing Div I tennis, it's gonna come back to get you at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I would bet that that Wickman doesn't even have a clue about the rating and league play. He just wants to play tennis and Sisk found him somehow.
I don't think a guy with his accomplishments that were listed is trying to cheat anyone. I mean, get real guys. Do you really believe Wickman is trying to cheat the system?
Blame Sisk if you want to, but don't blame Wickman.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I don't know Wickman/Sisk/3.5 tennis but I did go to UNI in 1978. We were not Division I at that time. We still play football in the FCS (formerly AA) but we were D2 back then. We were really known for being a good small school football powerhouse and bad ass division 2 wrestling team.

If he bragged that he played at UNI, he did not play Division 1.

    ReplyDelete
  69. It's another insult to imply that it's bad captaining because a player on that team gets DQ'd or bumped.

That is unless the captain willingly put that player on the team knowing that the player lied about his experience or level.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Who did he brag to? I keep hearing that he bragged but who did he brag to?

    ReplyDelete
  71. so there you have it. can we move on from Wickman?

    ReplyDelete
  72. LOL @ 11:20 - You REALLY went to UNI in 1978? I bet Sisk made that post....that is funny shit

    ReplyDelete
  73. We will move on when he is DQ'd or the USTA at least clears him to play.

    ReplyDelete
  74. No kidding. The point has been clearly made, so if someone wants to formally report it, please go ahead. Let's move on to other controversies!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Bump ups by DCC teams!!

There may be some errors, but this is what I see.

    LTF 7
    Huffines 6
    GH 5
    GTC 4

If GTC is the best team then who is Sisk in the sack with at the USTA for only 4 bumps?? That is a joke! Keith Clark goes 8-0 and stays at 3.5 and Wickman we all know!

Also it looks as though all that tanking Zack Stein was doing in league play kept him at 3.5 for GH!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I don't think GTC is the best team, that is just blog talk. Those who have seen their players know this too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Cheating sacks of shit, that's all.

Word is Sisk is bagging Jane.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Zach Stein does not tank. He played up above his level of 3.5 for several years where his record is what it is at that level, so tanking is not in his vocabulary when he tries to play above his level for several seasons in a row.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Stein sucked in 3.5 league this year, the guy went 1-3 and then goes and wins a MZ!! Coincidence??

    ReplyDelete
  80. I "heard big bird" played for the university of mesquite 25 years ago and is now working undercover for the usta investigating rumors and posing as a captain! I also confirmed this information from a friend of a friends friend that heard Sisk and big bird talking while doing shots.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Stein does not tank, and you're a 4.5. Just hit the button you big puss.

    ReplyDelete
  82. BMO will be for sure the first to get the Pussy Alert, he cannot push that appeal button fast enough! He will play on a 4.5 team, yet does not think he should be a 4.5. It must be fun for the 4.5ers to know that they get to play someone so inferior!

    ReplyDelete
  83. It almost seems pointless to appeal. You are appealing to play in the Fall season, which is meaningless. Odds are that the USTA will bump you back up after the Fall. The only reason to appeal is if you want to sit out the Fall and come back and sandbag in the Spring.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Even if you want to appeal your better off playing up the fall, then appealing down for the spring,

You don't want to get bumped back up at the end of the year and miss the spring,

    ReplyDelete
  85. Wickman attended UNI from 1976 - 1978

and received a BA in Recreational Administration.

If anyone has contacted Tosha yet port Anonymously and let us know.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Sounds like underwater basket weaving to me.

    ReplyDelete
  87. You gotta be kidding. You guys are jealous of a guy in his mid 50s playing 3.5 tennis? Are you a first grader who is on daddy's computer?

    ReplyDelete
  88. No, actually I'm 25 and right now I'm on your wife's computer, or perhaps it's yours I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  89. No,
We just all hate Sisk and want to see him lose.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Bet there are very few men on this blog who served their country like Mr.Wickman. All you complainers should thank him for protecting your right to bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  91. If you hate Sisk so much and want to see him lose, ever think about it doing it the old fashion way and winning on the court?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I don't know if he cheated, but cheating in general is cheating. Level is immaterial.

    ReplyDelete
  93. In order to beat Sisk, you have to cheat yourself and that is just not right.

    ReplyDelete
  94. you cheated yourself into thinking you could play 3.5 tennis

    ReplyDelete
  95. I served my country and this issue has nothing to do with that. I actually think it's shitty a man of service would do this. If Sisk was the one who truly self-rated Wickman, then Sisk needs to own up.

    ReplyDelete
  96. its shitty some are acusing this man that serves our country of things that cant be proven and they know not the man nor the rules. You my friend are in this class. Yes it would be shitty if this man knowingly did break the rules but you nor anybody else knows this so its better to be silent then to accuse out of ignorance or lack of knowledge.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Underwood didn't lose a match in 4.5 spring play and was 4-0 at line 1 singles with no sets dropped. He did beat Sands, who strangely defeated Sechen 6-0, 6-2. He also beat Edwards 6-2, 6-2.

He didn't play any of the elite singles players at 4.5, so I'm a little unsure that he's really a 5.0 if they're not.

    ReplyDelete
  98. The players in this league have sadly had to become cynical of everyone due to a number of people who have tried to cheat the system.

The Texas Section will just have to sort out the facts of this situation.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think that Eddie should win his case to remain at 4.0 on appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Wickman just got DQ'd. Woohoo

    ReplyDelete
  101. How did Fair from Huffhines get bumped to 5.0? He was swept in the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I'm not yet seeing the DQ on TennisLink.

    ReplyDelete
  103. The ratings probably didn't take the QT into account.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Until the penalties for self-rating abuse are stiffened and players continue to only get a slap on the wrist, not much will change. Forcing a player to sit out a year before being able to return might have more teeth.

Has a captain ever been sanctioned for abuse on his team?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Not sure if he is DQ'd or not but I would guess it is Kaiser (just guessing who made the grievance) who wrote that.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Not that I know of, but captains should be held accountable. I know there's a gray line whether or not captains had previous knowledge of nondisclosure of previous experience, but all captains know when a player is self-rating below their true rating. You don't want to be held accountable, don't captain.

    ReplyDelete
  107. At a minimum, captains need to be asking players about to self-rate of their previous experience up-front and not turning a blind eye.

If a player were confronted and about to face a possible year-long suspension, he might be more willing to admit that his captain instructed him to avoid disclosing information on his questionnaire.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'm not sure what the questionnaire looks like, but two questions need to be added to the end if they're not already included.

    1. Did you disclose all previous experience to your captain, and is it consistent with what you've indicated here?

    2. Have you been completely honest with your responses? Remember that non-disclosure can lead to a year-long suspension of league play if conflicting details come to light.

That way, if the player had sour grapes against the captain, he'd not be able to accuse the captain of instructing him to omit any of his experience if he'd answered yes to the first question.

    ReplyDelete
  109. WOW pretty much my whole team got bumped:(

    ReplyDelete
  110. Not to worry. Some will get reinstated.

    ReplyDelete
  111. wickman got bumped down to 3.0

    ReplyDelete
  112. My main complaint with this whole thing is that the ratings come out before the playoffs, when all the sandbaggers come out and try their best. Those are the most meaningful results.

That being said, there were many more players bumped to 5.0 this year than last, including two of my guys for the first time ever. Last year there were only 7 players in the whole Dallas league to get moved to 5.0, whereas this season I think there are about 20.

I agree that my guys that got moved up didn't win a match in the playoffs so I don't quite understand but oh well.

Also, how did Federico Pier get bumped to 5.0 without playing spring league?

    ReplyDelete
  113. I just looked at Wickman's record. It ain't that impressive and he's been playing S2 all season. So all those narrow wins were fabricated and he is really a 4.5 player? Get a life, Kaiser.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I would think a 6-0 record would be pretty impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  115. c'mon anon 2:01 pm

You are believing what you see?? You don't think the master mind had Wickman manage his scores.

As an FYI, he beat Yaramenko ( another college sandbagger) in a pre-season match, like 1 & 2 or something like that. He beat Dennis Demetsenare or however you spell it preseason as well something like 1 & 1. Don't say the guy can't play tennis.

Bottom line, he played college. He self rated and if he aswered the questions honestly, would have joined Garland's 4.0 team.

Nothing wrong with a captain looking into it and doing his job.

    ReplyDelete
  116. All of these post are out here to scare Big John to death. There is nothing out there to suggest Wickman really got DQed.

I don't know if the guy is 4.0 or not, but I do know he is one old bastard - so to me if and when he played college over 30 years ago should be irrelevant. It should be based on his level of play.

    ReplyDelete
  117. In the area I know, 3.5s that got bumped up to 4.0, there are some pretty interesting names. But overall it looks pretty fair. Of course, 75% of those guys will probably auto appeal and win. So I agree with earlier poster. Don't get panties in a wad just yet.

    ReplyDelete
  118. 2:14 -

He crushed Oleg and Dennis, both 4.0s. What level of play do you think he Wickman is?

    ReplyDelete
  119. It's not irrelevant if he does not fall within the guidelines set by the USTA for a 3.5 player. His actual playing ability makes NO difference. If the guidelines say he has to self-rate as a 4.0 ten he has to self-rate at 4.0. If he plays 4.0 and has bad enough results, the computer will move him down to 3.5. That is not the player's option.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Big John wont get scared especially by a lifetime captain who cant play. On a anon complainers blog. All the complainers are probably the same kid in elementary school that got his lunch money taken form him.

    ReplyDelete
  121. If you played college, evidently the minimum rank you can self-rate is 4.0. He probably is a 4.0 and should have self rated there.

    ReplyDelete
  122. thats right oleg and dennis where 4.0's before the season started!

    ReplyDelete
  123. This won't bother Big John. Cookies and milk to him.

    ReplyDelete
  124. To cheaters, getting caught cheating rarely bothers them. That's why they cheat. If you were worried about getting caught you wouldn't cheat.

This is not specifically aimed at anyone in particular, but if the shoe fits...

    ReplyDelete
  125. Why would a bunch of anon complainers bother anybody on a blog? especially this fantasy blog? If this was a meaningful blog with real names backing up their statements then that may be a different story.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I guess if I had won my playoff matches I would be a 5.5. LOL.

    Doug Fair.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I guess the same reason that there are players hiding behind bogus ratings. Apparently, because they can.

    ReplyDelete
  128. The only thing that can be done is not to allow self-raters in the play-offs,

  129. So with all the bitching about self rating, cheating, etc has anybody called the Texas section and try to change the rules? Has anybody orgainized a movement to change the rules? Does anybody know what the process is to bring about change? Or is it the old we cant change anything so lets just bitch about it.

    ReplyDelete
  130. We'll see how many of these ratings stick for fall, but I bet that it won't be that many.

If everyone who got bumped can appeal their rating, why not just automatically consider those players as though they appealed and not force them each to go through the exercise?

Like Coredawg, I also don't know why the bump-ups can't wait until after the playoffs have ended when players have competed against the best competition. It makes no sense to have such an arbitrary date.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I don't think the USTA cares about trying to address the problem anymore than they already have. What they are more concerned about is that they would like for every USTA player to sign up for multiple leagues. That means more money to the organization.

The money is the same whether that player accurately self-rates or not. The only thing that I can see that might bring about change would be for a large percentage of players and teams to quit playing leagues.

The USTA sets guidelines for each level and some players and captains make a mockery of them. The USTA's stance would be that if everyone accurately self-rated, if players and captains didn't "tank" matches and manipulate scores then a vast majority of players would be at their proper level and matches would be competitive.

    ReplyDelete
  132. My guess is that they care, but don't have the resources to deal with the issue as much as they'd like.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I agree, there used to be visual verifiers at the DCC, Sectionals and I believe Nationals. They would walk around watching players looking for players who were obviously out of level. If I remember right these verifiers could file a reports at the tournament with an explanation why they felt this player was out of level. That player would then have to go in front of a board to appeal this decision. Not a perfect system, but much better than what we have now. I'm sure it was done away with for cost reasons. I think there were also idiot players and captains threatening lawsuits.

    ReplyDelete
  134. After thinking about it, an anon finally said something worthwhile. I will not be appealing my rating.

I will play up during the fall, and as long as I can find a team where I can play every week, I will be happy.

If I don't do well, I will play 4.0 in the spring, rather than worrying about winning too much in the fall. I think there were enough players moved from 3.5 to 4.0 where I would not be playing enough people that would improve my game.

Hope that anon enjoys playing OPEN this year...

    ReplyDelete
  135. All these reasons why the USTA doesnt care to address the problem are our excuses even if they are real. We the players can change things but it takes to much effort and its the usual let somebody else do it and I will reap the rewards. It would be a monumental task to ruff up the Texas section into leading a rules change. I am that person who wants change but figures it cant be done just because of effort. But I am also that person who doest bitch about self raters, cheaters etc. because if I dont put forth the effort to make changes in the rules then who am I to complain about alleged cheating, etc. that I cant even prove moreless control without a rule change. So in the meantime if you call out a Captain or player put your name on it and maybe you will get more respect then hiding behind a anon. At least you will put your money where your mouth is.

  136. Wickman got DQed, it has been confirmed. I'm certain you'll see a post on it from Big John himself on the subject soon enough. I for one am glad he got got and it should change his season results as well but unfortunately it will not happen. All cheaters go to hell eventually, right after PUerto Rico that is.

  137. Crap,

Where is the appeal button.... I should not bumped up to 4.0,
Anyone who plays tennis with a flyswatter needs to stay in 3.5

    Sam Bert

    ReplyDelete
  138. Hard to believe the DQ until you see it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. 5-0 this season in 4.5 with 2 wins over guys bumped to 5.0, but this time I stay put! Go figure!

    ReplyDelete
  140. You are calling people idiots?? We will see who the idiot is when Wickman is not playing this weekend. Although I already know who the idiot is, as you seem to think that he needed to play this past weekend in order to be dq'd. That has zero relevance.

The guy played college tennis and should have never self rated at 3.5, hence the dq. Someone knew info about him posted it on the blog and it was turned over to the usta to look at.

Like I said, you will be walking with your tail between your legs in just a couple days!

  141. Mid-Season Irony Award for Mid-Season goes to..................................................Mike Kelly all those beatdowns and he is still a 5.0. Guess he should have taken some beatings in the Fall league.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I crossed referenced the USTA 3.5 playoff team rosters against the promotions database (yes I am a decent programmer) and got the following list of players that are moving to 4.0.

  145. It’s great to see that the following sandbaggers below have been bumped. It will be very interesting to see if any of these guys hit the appeal button.

    Anderson, Mark
    Bert, Samuel
    Jones, Christopher
    Molina, Enrique
    Reitzer, Larry
    Yaremenko, Oleg

    ReplyDelete
  146. Also nice to see Jerry Palacioz, A USPTA teaching pro and USTA development coach, got bumped to 4.0. I wonder if he will appeal down to 3.5 again?

    ReplyDelete
  147. My pick to be the first to hit the appeal button would be Big Ego Gerber! This guy talks more shit than anyone and just wait and see the pussy alert when he wins his appeal. And trust me he will win his appeal!

    ReplyDelete
  148. reitzer and anderson are definately not sandbaggers. have you ever seen them play or just being ignorant?

    ReplyDelete
  149. Silly question, clearly he is IGNORANT!

    ReplyDelete
  150. My list of biggest bumbup surprises.

    1. Sam Bert
    2. L. Reitzer
    3. John Sisk
    4. Ed Tarangioli
    5. Alan Gerber
    6. Rusty Branch
    7. Danny Carr
    8. Brian Morrison
    9. Danny Vandefiffer
    10.Robert Lamson

    ReplyDelete
  151. I hope Gerber doesn't appeal. It will be a blast watching 4.0s destroy him match after match. Don't do it, Gerber.

    ReplyDelete
  152. What will the ignorant anons say when I win the majority of my 4.0 matches. Can't wait to do so. Started playing 3 years ago and getting to 4.0 has been a piece of cake. Especially love taking out the ones that have been playing for years. A year or less of consistant practice and I'll be taking out the 4.0 sandbaggers as well. Post your name tough guys.

    Gerber

    ReplyDelete
  153. What's the promotions database?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Gerber,
    Answer the question directly.
Will you appeal or just play 4.0?

    ReplyDelete
  155. Who wants to know. Post your name and I'll answer the question.

    ReplyDelete
  156. anyone had a successful appeal yet?

    SWAT was denied 4 times.

Seems like the USTA got sneaky and put in some new rules about what keeps you bumped up. I have to say seems like they did a good job because the minute they leave the system alone people will attempt to manipulate it.

With that said I will miss the four guys but I just gained 4 players for the 4.5 team. Any other 4.0 bumpups looking for a team, let me know if you are looking for a 4.5 I just have a little room left now. Maybe 4-5 more people.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Cary,

Looks like Benchmark players are not being allowed to appeal. I don't know if that was the case for you team.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Many of these guys have been hovering betweeen and being perpetual mid-season bumps and then back down at year end. There are some that surprise me that they got moved up and some should have been moved but were not.

    ReplyDelete
  159. I thought that benchmark rule had been put in a season or two ago.

    ReplyDelete
  160. We are 2 for 2 - being denied. We had two benchmarks get bumped up and both were denied witht the auto-appeal.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I knew benchmarks couldn't appeal end of year ratings, but I wasn't sure about mid season ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  162. None of the rejections said anything about benchmark status being the reason. Two said the reason was the "rating was above 0.05 of the level" and the other two said it could not be appealed because the rating was generated by more than six matches. That was the new wrinkle that I noticed, I had never heard of that one before. It makes sense I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Hopefully the process is being improved where far less players are granted their appeals than in the past.

    ReplyDelete
  164. Cary or anybody, if a self rate didn't get bumped up, are they now considered "computer" rated or could they still get DQ'd (considered self rate until year end)? Would flags carry over from the spring to fall? I don't think our team has anything to worry about, but I am curious. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Just play hard, and don't worry about the consequences.

The fewer details about the rating process that we're given as players and coaches, the less chance for managing scores.

    ReplyDelete
  166. gerber 9:09PM july 15th, dont you worry about me challenging you, I will see you this weekend then the world will know if your all talk. Unless you puss out and hide at doubles or sit out because your to tired. Bring it on tough guy!

  169. Any official word on the Wickman DQ? Word is that the Lifetime bitches were behind it because they were scared to play him. Trust me they had nobody that could or would beat him! We all saw what the huffines singles boys did to them! Cant wait until the weekend!

  170. Pretty phenomenal that Garland only had 3 bumps.

  176. The Gerber vs. Kenny match is at 9 a.m. on Saturday at LB Houston, be there.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Seven Lifetime players bumped on both the 3.5 and 4.0 teams. Not good. Sounds like both teams were effectively playing down a level.

    ReplyDelete
  178. So far, Lucky Thunder has been the only captain shamelessly recruting players on the board! lol

  183. Why are you capitalizing ANON? Sounds like I hit a nerve. Was it the trailer trash part or the cheating part? You Huffines boys need to stop strumming banjo's and squealing like pigs. Stop making baseless accusations as well please. Oleg Yaremenko had a full ride and played college here in good ole Texas and you sheep chasers know it. I mean seriously, all you have to do is take a quick look at some of the offspring dna, starting with bitter beer face, reitzer, anderson, should I keep going.........

  184. I doubt either of the above posters even play for those teams. Stir up shit on teams you don't even play for, too funny, lol

    ReplyDelete
  189. Why wouldn't he?

    ReplyDelete
  190. Is Alzuro that guy that looks like he wears a wig?

    ReplyDelete
  191. Did the same person post the three previous messages?

    ReplyDelete
  192. Collin County/Charbeneau

This is being looked into, this team purposely tanked matches for an entire season save for one or two players that looks like they weren't in on it or cared not to be cheaters/tankers.

Almost the entire team is now rated 3.5, these guys are not 4.0 superstars by any means but I hope they lose at 3.5 as well but if they lose too much and head to 3.0 then I will know who is behind this mockery of our system.

    ReplyDelete
  193. Alzuro along with Waters, Strohl are what a like to call Craftsman!!! Real tools... Maybe the genius captain Brad Bartlett will allow Glen and his other bait to come on board.. Somebody should notify Texas USTA - Bartlett is building a 4.0 super team full of JACKASS"S
