4.0 Flights-34 total teams
Flight A
Well I guess taking Jane out for drinks worked and I got put in Flight A unfortunately sectional finalist Springpark took her out as well. I think Brookhaven and Fretz will be solid but lack some depth but there is still time to add players so that may change. Kyle Rhodes joining the Village makes me a little queasy because although most of that team is 3.5 bump ups from a year or so ago they are very solid players.
Flight B
Somabut’s HP team and LBH are the frontrunners here. I find it hard to believe there is another team in this flight that can beat either of them. There are some solid teams in here but no one up to the challenge but feel free to take one of them out, the rest of us wouldn’t be sad.
Flight C
Will further be referred to as Flight EDDIE. Pearlman as noted before has a lot of good returning players and got Jenkins as well. Team Eddie is strong but Bill Stevens group out of Allen will be tough. Harrigan’s HP teams and Hackberry will put up a little fight as well. Not sure after the split up of Garland into two teams how good Brueckner’s group will be but I think they have a few players to make each one of their matches tough wins. It will come down to Eddie, Bill and Burt’s teams though. Too close to pick a winner.
Flight D
So yes I have a love affair with Flight D and I am not even in this flight for this season. For me as a captain I wouldn’t mind being in a flight where there are one or two giants and then a bunch of guys named Joe. I like to know I can skip a weekend or two and turn off my captain brain but this flight will not get a chance to do that. There are no easy outs and our 2nd team is pretty solid in there as well. BTW Stonebridge and TBar lost 2 players combined so they were not decimated by MSRs. Early pick would be Greenhill with an sleeper pick of Eldorado.
As usual you miss the boat with flight D. I said Greenhill, TBar, and Lakes lost top players from spring. TBar lost best 2 players Wallace/Colao. Can't wait for season to get started. GO Lifetime
ReplyDeleteFlight A - Springpark wins
ReplyDeleteFlight B - LB Houston wins
Flight C - Lifetime wins
Flight D - doesn't matter
34 teams is too many. they should cap it at 30 teams and not let 3.5's play. Lowers the level of play.
ReplyDelete34 teams is too many, are you on crack? Why not have as many teams as possible. Too many teams is not the issue it is not enough matches. if a cap meant more matches then I would be for it but if teams can form why would you stop that and I guarantee you the USTA would not go for that ($$$$$$$$$$$$).
ReplyDeleteIf you want little leagues drive over to FW.
Lucky 4.5ers, I knew I should have created a team. Anbody need some cannon fodder for your 4.5, i am ready to go?
Lifetimer: Flight D rules, I hope they beat you in the playoffs, oops you might not get there.
speaking of lucky 4.5's
ReplyDeletewho is the LB Houston / Jones team that is playing 4.5. It looks like that team is made up of ten 4.0's, one 3.5, and two 4.5's.
there is your ringer 4.0 team for the spring.
Cary. Playoffs!!! playoffs!!! what are you talking about playoffs!! Your team didn't do diddlee poo. Flight D is solid, but will not challenge any of the top teams. I would like to see less teams and more matches. Raise level of play and play 9-11 matches per season. With 30 or 33 teams you could have 3 flights and 10-11 matches.
ReplyDeleteCary. If Lifetime doesn't make the playoffs. I will wear one of your Pirate Do rags to every match I play in 2009. Eddie
ReplyDeleteLT'er: I don't remember saying anything about my crew in the playoffs. I have made it a point never to make predictions about my team on this blog, only things about myself.
ReplyDeleteI like Eddie's bet though, I have one pirate do rag from this weekend that I haven't washed yet. It is stinking up the laundry room right now. I will put it away for November when you all come in 3rd and just miss the playoffs. :)
Where did all the bumped up 3.5 players go? Which team did they join?
ReplyDeleteBoth LTF and Garland have second teams now with most of those bump ups on the 2nd team.
ReplyDeleteHill got Mudsam and Sisk has Flora.
ReplyDeleteThat is only 2 people. A lot of them aren't even signed up for a team yet. I don't know what they are waiting for. Their aren't a lot of matches this year, so a lot of teams are not going to be able to absorb them if they don't do something fast.
ReplyDeleteComplaining about too many teams is like complaining about too much beer. USTA could have done 3 flights and have done 12 matches per person, then QT, then City, but is that season too long now? We could have hoped for 40 teams to sign up. That would have been a good number. You play the hand you are dealt.
ReplyDeleteSince when did Bmo start posting as lifetimer???
ReplyDeleteit's about keeping a higher level of play & playing more than 7 matches.
ReplyDeleteI agree I want good matches but number of matches matters just as much. Let's shoot for an even 40 in the spring so we can have at least 9 matches or 44 teams.
ReplyDeleteI think it can be done. Also remember the more teams and participation enables us to get the extra team to sectionals in the Spring.
I have to ask: why do you guys refer to Corey as "Nancy?" Have only met the guy in passing at a tournament, but do enjoy reading your Dallas blog because Houston's blog gets quite personal at times.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, us in Dallas are much bigger than that. We never get personal... I am sure Corey and John will agree. :)
ReplyDeleteLieftime will not drop a set all season. Lifetime has to be the clear cut favorite by far. No questions about it
ReplyDeleteDrop a set? I was wondering about dropping games? What is with all of this negative Lifetime bias?
ReplyDeleteLifetime SUX! oops, that was supposed to be anonymous.
ReplyDeleteCan we start calling them Dirty Lifetime?
ReplyDeleteCan we start calling them Dirty Lifetime?
ReplyDeleteSorry no ringers at LTF. Just a group of guys that have worked their way through the ranks. Of the 12 guys on the Fall team. At least 10 worked up from 3.5 in the past 2 years. Nothing dirty about Lifetime. Just hard workers.
ReplyDeleteForrest is dirty. He appealed to stay 4.0. He knows he is out of level.
ReplyDeleteDirty or a strong 4.0 player. I don't think anyone that has played him in League or in a Tourney would say he just overpowered them. He plays very smart and does not make many mistakes. Most 4.0's could learn something from how he plays. He is not out of level.
ReplyDeleteForrest is not someone you need to worry about past the fall anyhow. His tourney record with put him at 4.5 at the end of the year anyhow. Even if it didn't somehow, he is just a good 4.0 player with only 3-4 matches of league play. Lifetime is not dirty and neither is Forrest.
ReplyDeleteEddie may be tough as well. Depends on how that backhand implant procedure workouts for him.
ReplyDeleteYou all need to quit hating on Forrest. He might have a lopsided tournament record, but he has not played many league matches. If you have seen him play, you would think that he is solid, but not amazing. He knows how to make other players make mistakes. Lucky Thunder, didn't you watch him in the Denise Terrill tourney? Do you think he is dirty? I have met him a couple of times and he seems to be a real nice guy and not very cocky at all. If I had his record I would talk all the time like Nancy Noel does.
ReplyDeleteCary when did you become such a Lifetime hater. I am shocked to see such unkind words from you.
ReplyDeleteBTW. You should add the "The Looping Backhand Pirate" to you Batman villian list. I think we all know who that is??
Did you all know I have three holes and five screws in my shoulder?
ReplyDeleteJust messing with you Lifetimer, I am a LTF fan as long as you aren't playing my team. Forrest is definitely not dirty at all, he is solid but by no means out of level. "Looping Backhand Pirate"???? I think I will stick with Lucky Thunder. It actually is somewhat indicative of my game because occasionally when I close my eyes and swing I generate an amazing shot, luckily my degree in Theatre helps me convine my opponents that it was on purpose.
ReplyDeleteForrest is in no way dirty. He and I speak at every tourney when we cross paths and he has always been a good guy. He told me that he appealed to play with Lifetime in the fall. He really liked his teammates and wanted to help get the team as far as he could. He will kick some serious butt when he moves to 4.5 full time but 'til then he'll keep winning majors and beating up on us lowly 4.0 hackers! Just so y'all know, Eddie had been working on recruiting Forrest since at least the Waco MZ when they were hanging out. Eddie was promising cars, use of the private jet and God knows what else (at least that's what it sounded like when they were laughing it courtside while I was sweating my a$$ off in that 100 degree Texas sun playing a 4.0 consolation match).
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:31.
ReplyDeleteThat is so crazy. I have the same problem with my shoulder. We should get together and share some old war stories about how good we used to be. Eddie
BTW Trae that is some funny sh**. Good to hear from you.
oh yeah. Forrest is not dirty at all. A great guy and smart player. He is like a 4.25 rating. He will win at any level because he forces his opponent to make mistakes and plays smart. I certainly am hoping he does not get bumped up. Not in my control at this point. So I don't worry about it. Eddie
ReplyDeleteanon I think Dirty and Garland just go together. Sorry Garland I like you guys but past Firewheel yikes.
ReplyDeleteWe need a better name for team Eddie. Forrest will definitely be a 4.5 after his tourney record but it will be good to have him around this fall season. Dutchover will probably join him after a great tourney season.

Yeah, I had to vote for Eddie as the 1 ARM Bandit. I think that mechanical arm of his could handle some serious Batman sh!t.
Definitely needs a more sinister laugh though.
Here is a better name for Team Eddie. Lifetime/Hill. Great team name for a Great team.
ReplyDeleteYou could call us the "Redeem Team." the "I have a Dream Team". "The Smashers" "The Net Titans" "The Aces" "The Forehand Fury" "The Net-a-long Gang" Ok ok.. Lifetime/Hill is fine
Damn Eddie, you shoulda called us the Lifetime/RedeemTeam
ReplyDeleteI like that one!
"Lifetime Pool Disco Dancers"
ReplyDelete"Lifetime MILF Watchers"
"Lifetime Distractors"
"Lifetime Egos"
"Lifetime 6th Court Champs" or the best of ALL
"Lipptime"
I hear they call the Lifetime in Garland... "Knifetime"
I was thinking "The Hypochondri Hackers" or "Smoking Crack & Talking Smack".
ReplyDeleteI think I might jump on the Lifetime bandwagon after today. I played Mark Wines for the blog tourney and he played really well. With his serve and forehand he should dominate line 2 singles with Forrest playing 1. I'm sure Eddie will be in that mix too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Forrest will be like 99% of the players that get moved up a level, he will start out with average results and slowly get better and better. Very few players are successful their first couple of seasons when they are moving up a level.
Actually Smack Talkers works quit well too... I told Eddie it is boring to name your team names after your last name.
ReplyDeleteI will make him take a vote next year, but so far, I like Smack Talkers the best, followed by the Redeem Team for a number 2...
Ego(s) is the most fitting
ReplyDeleteMy appeal to stay 4.0 was denied. I only played two matches, and one of them was against a 3.5 team. I don't understand how the whole process works. There are lots of people who won more matches than me, and are still 4.0.
ReplyDeleteI played you keith, you will be fine at 4.5. PLUS you put a smack down on David Snow, and that guy actually wins half his matches at 4.5 (which I don't know how he does that)
ReplyDeleteHey guys does my new sling make me look fat?
ReplyDeleteWhich team is Marc Klamacki playing on? How is he going to fair in the 4.0s? Is he going to be easy pickings for the seasoned 4.0s.
ReplyDeleteMarc,
ReplyDeleteYou will do fine after the learning curve. It depends on how hard you work at your game. Take me for example, have I mentioned that I had three holes and five screws in my shoulder? By the way, how 'bout my sling? Anyway, you will need to work as hard as me and my team.
5 combined "I(s) and I'm(s). 6 sentences. I know that is not Noel. Someone had to be watching the match to report it.
ReplyDeleteI'm boycotting the blog until the season starts, for health reason,
ReplyDeletePlease leave me out of it.
Marc Klamecki is Dead,
Long live Marcos Klameckipopolis
Marcos,
ReplyDeleteDid you hurt yourself playing that Russell kid? He is very good.
Marcos will go 2-5 at line #1. 3-4 if he plays line #2
ReplyDeleteLooks like we have free rein on Marc, since he is boycotting the blog. woooAAAhhaaaahaaahaaaa
ReplyDeleteHow far away is the season anyway? Marc will do fine if he works hard on his game.
Thanks for the kind words Corey. I enjoyed the match. Just wish I didn't run out of gas to give you more of a challenge in the 3rd. Let's play again after the season starts.
ReplyDeleteWines
Anon 9:05 pm:
ReplyDeleteI, too, am surprised by the Noel email on his match with Wines. I would have expected something like "I played poorly in the second set" to explain that loss instead of giving Wines cred. I know Wines well and he is a class act so maybe that brought out something new in Corey.
Once again the Challenge ladder brings out the best in everyone,

You expected me to say something like that because you don't know me. I will always give credit to my opponent when I lose. I actually felt lucky to win against Mark.
ReplyDeleteCall me anytime you want to play again Mark and also talk to Eddie about setting up that team scrimmage in the preseason.
I, I'm, I, me, I'm, I, I.
How many was that?
that's 12 I' and me's. but who's counting anyway
ReplyDeletesix, including me(s).
ReplyDelete6? Seven including me(s).
ReplyDeleteHey guys, it's a trick question. Total post had 14 references to himself. 6 sentences though.
ReplyDeleteSorry Corey, Eddie is all booked out. Bmo is in a private meeting to MAKE Eddie change the name of his team.
ReplyDeleteBmo sounds like THE BIG FISH in a little pond.
Maybe he should change his tag to Bmoc.
ReplyDeletelmfao
ReplyDeleteHey guys, it's a trick question. Total post had 14 references to himself. 6 sentences though.
ReplyDeleteHe's right. However, my is first person so that should be 15 right? That's pretty good.
Lifetime wins it all and goes to Nats in 2009. Everyone else is playing for 2nd.
ReplyDeleteFifteen if you count the "i" in the header "corey noel said".
ReplyDeleteOk, the make comment was out of line, but comment was only cause I am not sure if he would get the fun out changing the name. I mean come on, the lifetime trash talkers! It has a ring to it!! And the name just fits so beautifully. I would think the haters would be ammused as well. Maybe get some other teams to step up the names as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe get some other teams to step up the names...? The other teams are trying to get your team to step and sign under their names. How about the Lifetime Anons.
ReplyDeleteHow about Lifetime Smack? It could go some many different ways.
ReplyDeleteThe obviously "talking smack"
How hard Eddie thinks he hits the ball
How badly they will smack people around
And then the haters can call them Lifetime Smacked if they ever did happen to lose although I'm sure Eddie will not worry about such a small possibility
I'm looking for a 4.5 fall team to join. Does anyone know which is a good one in the Garland/Richardson/Dallas area?
ReplyDeleteForrest – Is it true that you appealed your rating? If this true, this is BS. Move up! You should have been playing 4.5 this past year!
ReplyDeleteMr. Anon said......
ReplyDeleteHey guys, does this dress go with my sling?
Forrest did play 4.5 last year and he will probably play for a 4.5 team in the fall - whats your complaint?
ReplyDeleteComplaint is why he feels the need to play 4.0.
ReplyDeleteForrest really needs to quit sandbagging at the 4.0 level and participate only in the 4.5 or higher.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did appeal to play at the 4.0 level. I really enjoyed playing with Lifetime last season and I wanted to see if it was possible to play with them again one last time. Lifetime has a collection of great players and all around good guys. I know that I will be bumped up at the end of the year and I am looking forward to playing 4.5. I just wanted to finish out the year playing tournament play at 4.0 because I started the year out in 4.0. If it is such BS like one anon has put it, then why was my appeal granted? I do not sandbag in tournaments or league play like some, but try my hardest. I did play in a 4.5 league last season and want to try to play 4.5 again this season if my schedule will allow it. I have read this blog before, but not for a long time and someone told me that people were talking about me. Thanks to the positive one's such as Eddie, Trae and Corey. To the brave anons that are bashing me, what is your beef or better yet name? If you have seen me play, you would not think that I am sandbagging. I guess I am just able to make my opponents make more mistakes than I make. I am definitely beatable and have almost lost several matches lately, especially in the Denise Terrill tourney. Forrest
ReplyDeleteForrest,
ReplyDeleteNot a comparison, but Nadal makes his opponents make more mistakes than he does also. Not really a vaild arguement. That is the key at ANY level.
bottom line is watch Forrest play and then make your assessment. He is a solid player but when you watch him your draw will not drop. He has obviously worked on his game and he is smart but he doesn't have any stroke that makes him out of level at 4.0.
ReplyDeleteSeems like anytime someone wins a lot we have to move them up.
It is so funny, the Forrest bashing. I thought tennis was supposed to be fun. That's why I do it. If you look at his game, it is just extremely steady.
ReplyDeletePersonally speaking, I've watched a few of his matches and talked to him afterwards and a lot of people kind of give up, because basically he doesn't make that many mistakes. Which is a definition of a 4.0 player.
To be quite honest, I've seen Glenn Flora play and his strokes are stronger than Forrest, but don't see him beating Forrest just because Forrest is more match tested at the 4.0 Level and is more consistent than he is.
Do your research the next time, ask others who have played him and they will tell you he is a good guy and nowhere near a sandbagger.
Well, I haven't seen forrest play, nor do I even know the guy. But Glenn is pretty solid. If he gets in the zone on his serve, your just trying to get the ball back. Trust me I know!
ReplyDeleteJonathan,
ReplyDeleteWhat do you and Dr. Wienstein know above 3.5 Suppose your going to tell us you had close matches with Forrest? Give us a break!!! Just cause Eddie is in hiding does not mean you can blow smoke up our a$$. It was good to not hear from you for a while. Make another game plan Dumba$$. Maybe you and Eddie can go shopping together and buy some new clothes!!! You are an embarrassment to the Dallas crew at tourneys!!!!!
Yes, the Forrest bashing is not as funny as Jonathans (high shorts) clothes. I agree with the Anon, he should go shopping with Eddie. Followed by focusing on his tennis game. There you Jonathan, you got things to do before you jump up here!!!!! Watch out for Bmo though, this guy wants to be THE BIG FISH and he will step on you.
ReplyDeleteDORK & RAT SAID......
ReplyDeleteCome on guy's, this argument begain way back in the prior thread "3.5 Sectional Has Begun". WE never claimed to be God....I just said David (Dork)was the mosty ethical person I have ever known. Obveously, I don't know high quality people like Sisk and other Captains. I wish I could just let it go (like other capt'ns)but I'm not like the other captains. I still believe in my heart that I belong in the Nats. tourney. I have tried so hard and come up short. Sisk makes it look easy and ends up with so many friends. How can you like a guy like that????
Signed,
E. "RAT" Ratcliffe.
I spoke up only because Forrest is a team-mate and a friend. When you look up the word teammates, you will find that's what we do, we stick up for each other.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I'm not an expert, I SAID, ask others whose opinions you value about their assessment and you will find out how so off base you are.
To the coward(s) who posted and started ripping on Jonathan, you all must feel really great about yourself. First of all, Jonathan and I hit quite often and he always plays me very tough and most of the time I feel lucky to escape with a win. He has the best forehand of any 4.0 player I have ever played statewide. He is a great guy and the people who are friends with him are lucky to have him in their corner. Who are you to say he is an embarrassment to Dallas tennis. Please, for the sake of all of us, let us know what great accomplishments you have obtained and what trophies you have on your fireplace mantle??? Forrest
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Anon.poster aug 18th 12:17 am. If I have something to post I will use my name not Anon. so dont post something like what you posted and sign my name. You are a real Coward whoever you are.I have no idea why all this blog hate is coming from probably 1 person who hates Oak Ridge.
ReplyDeleteyou are a real COWARD !!!
Don't let them reel you in Forrest. They love it when they get a response - it's like bringing a sheep into a lions den.
ReplyDeleteOnce you accept they will always rip on your playing level and you decide to let that go, they'll bring out the "Your Mamma" jokes - anything to keep a thread going.
This blog sucks - yet we keep coming back for more.
Ed, I would like to apologize for the 11:35 and 12:17 posts because those kind of posts are what makes me want to leave this blog. Once again it's somebody who doesn't know you or David slinging mud. I have no personal issues with you or David and I hope the rest of this blog will keep the focus on tennis instead of making personal attacks.
ReplyDeleteHey All. I am in Acupulco, Mexico now and missed the blog for a couple of days. On a golf and tennis vacation. Kind of tough with my right arm in a sling. I did play on Clay for the first time yesterday...LEFT HANDED THAT IS. My wife who is a 3.0 beat me 6-2. A bit embarrassing, but I will get better. she has to serve every game because I can't toss the ball. Anyway I saw someone say that I was in hiding so I thought I would reply. Eddie
ReplyDeleteMarcus: "Best forehand in 4.0 Dallas tennis"? Wow. What are you on, Forrest? And Marcus is alright, but he also has Nancy Noel disease--loves to talk about himself and his "game."
ReplyDeletejust like the BS that you throw out
ReplyDeleteNancy Noel,
ReplyDeleteYou can whine all you want about "personal attacks". You brought it on yourself with your blatent lies trying to cover up for the ringers at Garland. In the future, tell the truth or shut your mouth. It is not OK to lie even trying to protect your friends. In the end, your lies become obvious and you lose the respect of others.
Funny, I lost respect for Nancy when I saw her backhand.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, one of the biggest lies perpetrated about me is that I love talking about myself. I don't. I live by the scripture that tells me to humble myself before the mighty hand of God and He shall exalt you in due time."
ReplyDeleteThe mistake that I made was sometimes sharing my personal thought process. There is not a blog anywhere out there from me, talking about how great my forehand is, or any other part of my game. Playing 4.0 level tennis is humbling for me, because everyone is either at my same level or just better because of their fitness.
Now if the attacks continue to come, let them come, I could care less. Just be man enough to put your name behind the attack, so that if I ever get lucky enough to draw you into a tournament, I'll have extra incentive.
That's good anonymous guys. We can agree not to respect each other. At least I have self-respect enough to post my own name, which is more than can be said for you guys. Forrest and I will take any of you guys on any time and we'll see whose strokes are inferior.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are thinking about fitness. Seriously. You could win 2x as many matches at this level if you dropped 25 lbs and improved you stamina. Your not a bad guy Marcus. Getting fit will help your game and your outfits.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I couldn't believe that one time I played Marcus when he ate a donut on every change over. Elke walked by and he just came staring at that donut and pulling up his shorts.
ReplyDeleteJonathan Marcus is a good guy and a good tennis player. When Jonathan is on and his forehand is going he can run away with the match against anyone. Trust me I know. He has a great forehand and a solid backhand.
ReplyDeleteGet to know Jonathan before you bash him. He is a good guy and a gentleman on the court.
Challenge him on the Blog Ladder.
Enrique Molina
Guys,
ReplyDeleteTennis is supposed to be fun. Now if you’re playing in tournaments and league, tennis should be fun and competitive. If you’re winning most of or all of your league and tournament matches over a 12-month period of time, it’s time to move up.
If the computer bumps you up, move up and give it a try. Don’t be a puss about it and appeal. Move up and give it a try for six months.
Some of these justifications for appealing are such BS (such as Forrest’s bunch of crap. “I really enjoy playing with the guys on the lifetime team.” “I want to finish the year playing 4.0 tournaments”).
Forrest – Come on, it’s time to move up. In regards, to still playing 4.0 tournaments for the remainder of the year, you still can. Since you got bumped up to 4.5 at the mid year, you can still finish the year playing tournaments at 4.0. You will just need to start playing at the 4.5 league level this fall. But since you’re a puss about moving up, I guess we’ll see you again at the 4.0 level this fall.
Jonathan – You’re another guy that got bumped from 3.5 to the 4.0 level last year and appealed. You’re a bunch of talk. You want to say you’re a 4.0 player but you continue to want to stay and play at the 3.5 league level. Move up! What’s the problem?
ReplyDeleteFYI Jonathan did not get bumped up last year from 3.5. this summer is the first time he got bumped and he will not appeal. He has prefered to play 4.0 but has had a 3.5 rating until now.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 7:1
ReplyDeleteJudge not, that ye be not judged.
Baseline Jesus condones the use of the appeal system.
But,
Rebukes the USTA for not having a transparent process.
Gee Mr. Noel, can we play the grammar game today?
ReplyDeleteWhy, are you bored? Just write something negative about Garland. You know you want to.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jonathan did get bumped up last year (end of the year ratings) from 3.5 to 4.0.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jonathan was a puss and appealed his rating from 4.0 to 3.5.
No, Jonathan doesn’t prefer to play 4.0. He prefers to play 3.5. If he preferred to play 4.0, he would have the balls to stay & play @ 4.0. But he’s puss. Jonathan likes to enter a tournament at the 4.0 level so he can say he’s a 4.0.
Bottom line: 1) Jonathan is a puss. 2) All talk, no show. 3) He prefers to play at the 3.5 vs 4.0 level. 4) He prefers to tell others that he’s a 4.0 player but doesn’t have the balls to officially take on the rating.
Just for your info., Jonathan appealed himself up to 4.0 last year, but due to the fact that 2 teams wanted him to play on their 3.5 teams, he re appealed himself back down to 3.5 Parts of his game is 4.0 and he's working on the rest, but you anon guys have no game and you no balls and since you won't let us know who you are, why should I bother putting my name out there for you to just pick on.
ReplyDeleteGrow some!!!
Some of these justifications for appealing are such BS (such as Forrest’s bunch of crap. “I really enjoy playing with the guys on the lifetime team.” “I want to finish the year playing 4.0 tournaments”).
ReplyDeleteForrest – Come on, it’s time to move up.

(In response to the above comments)I can't believe I am stooping to your level, but what the hell. Who are you?? You are really cool and brave about putting your name out there. I guess you just want your worthless opinions to go out there without a name. I do like the guys that I play with and love every minute that I get to hang out with them. Thanks for the update about playing out the year in tournament play douche bag, I appealed to play league play. So you are right, you will see me again in league play, so chalk up another loss for you and another win for Lifetime. If you want I can get you spectator tickets to the DCC??? Forrest
Why am I even in this thread??? Last time I checked, I haven't even officially signed up for the League this upcoming season.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, or whoever you are. Just keep me out of this conversation.
LOL. Good Job Forrest.
ReplyDeleteJust remember the words of Jesus, err, I mean Baseline Jesus.
"Baseline Jesus condones the use of the appeal system.
But,
Rebukes the USTA for not having a transparent process."
USTA says you are a 4.0 player Forrest. So, you are a 4.0 Player.
Jonathan has been playing tourney's at the 4.0 level while he was a 3.5, and you chastise him for not doing well at 4.0. Then he plays 3.5, and you chastise him there again, and again anonymously.
Jonathan's game has always been right between 3.5 and 4.0, although he has improved dramatically over the last 2 months, as demonstrated in 3.5 sectionals in both singles and doubles. Nice work Jonathan. Its always nice to see hard training rewarded. Keep up the good work, get on the court more, and you might find yourself playing and doing well at some 4.0 tourney's real soon.
Yes, I agree … Jonathan is a mess. He got bumped up at the end of last year from 3.5 to 4.0. He appealed his rating on-line. Then he called the USTA and said he wanted to really play 4.0, so the USTA bumped him back up. Within a very short period of time, Jonathan wanted to try and be a big fish in a small pond, so he called up the USTA again and request another appeal. The USTA then bumped him back down to 3.5.
ReplyDeleteJonathan then said he said he would play and in many cases gave his commitment to play for several 3.5 teams within north Dallas. Apparently Jonathan said he would play for Oak Creek, then Oakridge, then back to Oak Creek, then some other team, back to Oakridge and then at the last min … Lifetime Fitness.
From Forrest’s post on Aug 17th -
ReplyDelete“Yes, I did appeal to play at the 4.0 level. I really enjoyed playing with Lifetime last season and I wanted to see if it was possible to play with them again one last time.”
Forrest – you got bumped up! Play up! Don’t be a sandbagger, a ringer or cheat! It’s only a tennis team, There are plenty of 4.5 tennis team that you can play on. Be a big boy and don’t disappoint us.
“I just wanted to finish out the year playing tournament play at 4.0 because I started the year out in 4.0.”
Cool! No problem dumb ass. You can finish the tournament play for the year @ 4.0 since you got bumped to 4.5 at mid year. For the league you can’t play on a 4.5 team. Yes, unless you be a puss and appeal back down to the 4.0 level.
“I did play in a 4.5 league last season and want to try to play 4.5 again this season if my schedule will allow it.”
Then manage your time a little bit better. Instead of playing & sandbagging on a 4.0 team and “trying to find time” to play on a 4.5 team, just play on a 4.5 team.
“I guess I am just able to make my opponents make more mistakes than I make. I am definitely beatable and have almost lost several matches lately, especially in the Denise Terrill tourney.”
Ok, monkey nuts everyone is beatable. It’s time for you to move up to 4.5 and give it a try.
Wow...did I hit a nerve? Are you going to write my memoirs next? I did play on a 4.5 team last year but only played one match because I can't play tennis on Saturday and Sunday every weekend like some. I don't think that you are getting the point. I like this team and want to play with them one last time. The reason I can't play both days is because I do have a life outside of tennis and that does mean I have to manage my time. It is easy for you to rip on my time management when all you do is wait for the next Star Wars convention to come to town, add to your internet porn collection and hope that big girl from Match.com writes you back. Forrest
ReplyDeletethat is comedy wow. the last 10 entries are crazy. Forrest... Anon's are idiots. They hide behind Anonymous and attack people. You know the truth, as do your teamates. No shot at you, but Gene Davis is a lot better than you and he never had one bad thing written about him. He should of signed up for 5.0 and he and everyone else around him and SP knew it. Yet we never saw the attacks you are getting. Same goes for Mitch. This is not a shot at those guys, because they are good guys, but no attacks. Just let it die... Because no matter how hard you might try, you cannot be as immature and ignorant as the Anon's. They will not let up until you do. You are smarter, more mature, and have more game than they do. Just let it go.
ReplyDeleteThere is no comparison to Forrest and Gene. Gene would beat Forrest like he stole something. As far as I know Gene is not appealing to play 4.0 with the great guys from Spring Park. That is the difference. Also, at the end of the year, last year Gene was given a 4.0 computer rating. He did not appeal to get down to a 4.0 like Forrest did. Mitch lost more matches at the 4.0 Sectionals this year than Forrest has lost all year with MANY more matches played. If Forrest wanted competition he could have played line one singles against SP in the city playoffs.
ReplyDeleteForrest, didn't you originally commit to OC in the spring? What happened there? Since you only played the last 2 regular season matches, it looks like your plan was to sit out most of the season and just wait to see what teams had a ligit chance at the playoffs. Grow some balls and stand up to your commitments. Your actions show the type of person you really are.
ReplyDeleteSo what make's Lifetime so great?
Who is that you have a man crush on? Could it be Eddie?
It's very interesting to listen to and read what Jonathan and Forrest have to say. There’re both very similar in nature. They both are very indecisive, non-committal, avoid risk taking, cry babies and like to bull shit.
ReplyDeleteTo Jonathan, Forrest and to everyone else that appeals when bumped – move up (unless you have some kind of medical issue) and give the next level a try. It’s all about pushing yourself, taking a little risk and trying to improve your game.
If Forrest wanted competition he could have played line one singles against SP in the city playoffs.
ReplyDeleteForest is a puss and sandbagger.
Forrest – When you make statements like “I like this team and want to play with them ….” You do sound like a cry baby. There are a lot of things in life people want and they don’t always get. I don’t think your getting the point that some folks are trying to make in regards to you. It’s time to move forward. Quit vacillating, splitting hairs and stop being a sandbagger. Show everyone (including Eddie) that you’re a real man (not a cry baby), that you have character by setting an example to others that have been bumped (that have appealed) that your moving forward from 4.0 to 4.5.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know the childish attacks will have no impact on Forrest. He is very comfortable with who he is and what he is doing. Just suck it up fellas.. he will play one last season at 4.0 with LTF and move on. You are only pissing him off at this point and he will make sure to kick ass on anyone he sees this fall. Not smart on your part, but as the captain at LTF I am happy that you have given him even more motivation because his teamates will benefit from that. Thanks. As to him not playing line 1 vs SP. That was my decsion... and was based on me being extremely tired and my shoulder was very sore from the morning match I had and was not sure if I could win line 2. So I took the lose vs Gene so that way I knew we would get line 2 with Forrest. So call me a puss if you want. It was not his call. See you at Fall Championships. Oh yeah. Anon's are cowards and have no game. Well you can watch us from the sidelines. Eddie
ReplyDeleteEddie – I believe everyone agrees with you. The current conversation about Forrest and other sandbaggers & ringers is very childish. Forrest (and others) should listen closely to you and learn from you on when you were bumped from 3.5 to 4.0. You could have submitted an appeal and continued to play on a 3.5 and 4.0 team. Instead you stepped up to the plate like a real leader and accepted your new rating. Hopefully Forrest will learn from your leadership and accept his new rating like a man.
ReplyDeleteHundreds of players appeal every year. Why is Forrest being singled out? This again is a problem with the USTA system, not with him. I do think that the #1 reason most people appeal is to stay with a team of guys they know. I did ask Forrest to play on my 4.5 team this season but a lot of guys that get moved up don't have that option. I personally would never appeal my rating but I've accepted the fact that other people will. The fact that he is going to play 4.5 next season also should show you he's not afraid.
ReplyDeleteI don't see what all the complaining is about. Forrest is playing by the rules. Just be glad his talent is being wasted on Lifetime. He is the only good player they have. Everyone else is average at best.
ReplyDeleteSo if LTF made it to deep into Cities last SPRING, but we have only "average players" .... What are you saying?
ReplyDeleteTo post Aug. 20, 2008 @ 9:57 am - It’s all a matter of principal, character and reducing the number of sandbaggers (make the leagues more competitive). You mentioned that you wouldn’t appeal if your rating got bumped up. I applaud you! In this world there are winners, followers and losers. Not everyone can be a winner. If one works hard and continues to try and improve them selves … one will have a chance.
ReplyDeleteMr. Feuille (FF) knows that he’s at the top of the 4.0 level in the state of Texas. Feuille is currently rated fourth in the state. His over all record is 23 – 1. Ok, great! Feuille can finish out the tournament play at the 4.0 level (as the rules specify) and accept his new mid-season rating of 4.5. Feuille is a very shallow & selfish individual for knowing he should move forward and accept his new rating and he appeals. What a loser!
Whatever aggravations / frustrations that Feuille has towards anyone, he should channel those aggravations / frustrations toward playing 4.5 league and tournament players. We’re just seeing the surface of Feuille personality.
Yes, the USTA rating systems has its problems. When active USTA members like Feuille appeal their rating and win, something is wrong with the system. Members should speak up and say something. Feuilles’ case is a perfect example of one of the current problems & issues. Also the action of Eddie Hill of Lifetime Fitness and others that have posted and allow this crap to happen are also part of the current problem with the USTA rating system. Members need to help police the rules and regulations set by the USTA and help clean up the rating system. USTA members need to call a spade a spade when they see someone like Feuiller
Mr. just curious,
ReplyDeleteYou just stated my case for me. You didn't win city because most of your team is average. Forrest is the only top level 4.0 on the team. Eddie's mouth is 5.0, but his tennis game is only 4.0. I don't see Lifetime finishing better than 4 or 5 again this year.
I still think he owes OC an apology for bailing on the commitment he made.
ReplyDeleteMr response of Just curious. I appreciate the commments, and I welcome the challenge.
ReplyDeleteYou played for either SP or HP then. I welcome the challenge and we will see you in the fall.
Houston,
ReplyDeleteI think Dallas let their rackets to the talking at the Sectional tournament and the 4.0 Houston team didn't make it out of their flight. Work harder!
Lifetime will finish 4th or 5th again. Hmmmm. Do I need to refresh your memory. LTF lost 2 mathes this year. 3-2 to SP(Sectional Finalist and probably best team in the state) and 3-2 to HP(top 4 in the state) How does that make us 4 or 5 in Dallas. Of the six teams at DCC, we were 3rd. We lost tight matches to #1 & #2. We beat #4 & #5. Help me out here.
ReplyDeleteYou average Dallas league players just don't get it. Forrest is playing by the rules. You have to have the best possible borderline players to get through sectionals. Many teams have ringers. Forrest is not a ringer by any stretch. He is a borderline 4.0-4.5. That is why his appeal was granted. HP had several appeal down players last season. We never heard anything about that... Why??? As far as average players go, I take that as a compliment. Average players got to DCC and damn near made it to sectionals. Strength in numbers I guess, but this blog said we had no depth. hmmm. Maybe just strong character... We will be even better this fall and next spring. can't wait.
To poster: August 20, 2008 5:29 PM
ReplyDeleteSo, since Lifetime is "average" now, is it a fair assumption that if they win, then they are winning without ringers? Every team that wins city or sectionals or nationals HAS to have players on their roster that are high end 4.0 players if they are in 4.0 league. 4.0 average players will not win city or beyond. Because if they were average, they would not win. Bottom line, you have to have solid players (not just one) to advance.
Lifetime Average Players??? Here is the spring records of the top 6 players at Lifetime from League Play, QT, and DCC.
ReplyDelete1. 4-0
2. 9-1
3. 6-1
4. 6-1
5. 6-2
6. 9-2
That's a combined 40-7. In just league play it is 26-3. If those players are average then what does that mean for the rest of Dallas tennis.
That does not include Eddie who was 6-3 with the 3 losses to Guys that got bumped to 4.5 at midseason. Average Players at LTF???
ReplyDeleteHell, Eddie went 3-2 with a torn labrum and rotator cuff. Average Players at LTF??? what does that say about the rest of Dallas Tennis??
ReplyDeleteExcept for Tbar and HP the rest of the teams in your flight were 3.5 players last year. Tbar only had about 4 decent players on their whole team, and HP didn't find it necessary to bring their best lineup against you. You sound stupid talking about how great Lifetime is when your team has never won anything.
ReplyDeleteI was not talking about how great Lifetime is. Just defending Lifetime from a couple of guys saying that Lifetime has average players. My point was average players go .500 and we clearly did far better than that. As for your comment about TBar. Last time I check they made the QT and won a flight in the QT to get to the DCC and ended up 4th out of 32 Dallas 4.0 league teams. If they did that with only 4 decent players, what does that say about the rest of Dallas 4.0. Last thing. you speak of Flight A being weak Ok. 3 of 6 teams at DCC were from Flight A. No other flight had more than 1. Also the 6 top guys from LTF listed above had a 14-4 record in the playoffs against top teams that were not in our flight. NOT saying how great Lifetime is, just saying the fools that say Lifetime is average are just that... FOOLS.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think that we ended up exactly where we said we would end up. In fact, I think we actually went one step further than were most of us on that team were predicting.
ReplyDeleteIts okay, its fun being the underdog. That just does nothing but motivate me; and I ENJOY that role.
Lifetime Fitness did very well last season. Unfortunately, Lifetime must encourage Forrest to move forward to the 4.5 level. Even though they love the little psycho to death and he loves the team, it’s time to set the little guy free.
ReplyDeleteLifetime – you don’t want to think you’re the best team around if you have a known sandbagger playing on the team.
Come on, meet up before the season starts, have a little last time team hug and then let the little guy move forward on this own to a 4.5 team. The little guy might need a little encouragement. Just give him a little pat on the ass and he’ll move forward.
Don’t worry guys; you’ll have a chance to play with the little guy again. Just work on your game a little bit and you’ll be able to join the little guy again in the spring on a 4.5 team.
Miss Cleo the psychic and Vegas predict that Lifetime will go..............Undefeated!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Cleo also forsees all you anonymous haters out there meeting up at the internet cafe for a circle jerk and a hum dinger session.
ReplyDeleteMost of the Lifetime haters are on the HP team. I've never understood why Doug Smith, Keith Robinson, Joel Pickett, etc. have always dogged them. Anyone who has met Brandon Myers, Mark Wines, Forrest Feuille, Brian Kennedy, etc. know those are all great guys. Why are they hated so much? So they claim they will get to the playoffs. Big deal. Every team should feel confident in themselves. I believe this blog said they wouldn't make it out of the QT and they barely missed making it to Sectionals. Houston is right, this blog is loaded with a bunch of jerks who likely have low paying, data entry jobs and need to knock others down to feel better about their pathetic lives. The Lifetime guys I mentioned above are executives with their companies, have families and lives outside of tennis and still do well at this GAME. Many of them are in their mid to late 30's yet they are a challenge to us 20-somethings. I would love to be on their team but they are too far away for me. Give them some credit and get a life.
ReplyDeleteTo anon 10:28. You must have not gone to sectionals to see the level of play. You should go next year and just watch. Forrest is a very good 4.0 borderline 4.5. He would have been lucky to go 1-3 against the 4 lines of singles that I watched and you want to call him a sandbagger. that is just an idiodic statement. Go to sectionals and see the level of play. The only way to win at that level is to have a couple of borderline guys. People from Houston and Lubbuck will not have borderline guys... they will have guys that are 4.5-5.0 playing 4.0 singles. Wake up and see the bigger picture. I know many of you have not ever gotten to the DCC or even to the QT, but Sectionals and Nationals are a whole different ballgame. Those that have been that far understand and would never make the comments you make.
ReplyDeleteHey Forrest. Play at 4.0 as long as you can because you are on a good team and good teams are hard to find. If I were you I would appeal again at the end of the year to see if you and Lifetime can really make a run at Nationals. Don't listen to these losers. They are on teams that go 4-3 in league and they get to complain while the playoffs go on without them. Take this thing as far as the USTA computer ranking will let you.
ReplyDeleteTo Anon 2:11:
ReplyDeleteAMEN!
Gosh, I wish we had another thread going, this one is boring me. Of course, JC ended the first one, and nobody that plays mixed would dare talk about the girls that they play with. (I mean, come on, they are other guy's wives, and you just cant go there). - I can't believe almost everyone turned up decent on that thread by the way! EVERY ONE pat themselves on the back for that one!! No one disgraced Dallas. Wow, that might be a first.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why my name got brought up. I have nothing against Lifetime. I think their posts are funny. They have the right attitude. Everyone should think they are going to win. Why else would you play? I also have no problem with Forrest playing 4.0. You can't do well at Sectionals without a couple of people at his level.
ReplyDeleteI think Lifetime has turned into a target because of perceived arrogance before the spring season started. It seems that many were touting them as the second best team in the league or as a lock for Sectionals, which most people thought was overconfident. I also think, just like with me, most people are just making fun of Lifetime to elicit a response or be funny (i.e. Keith).
ReplyDeleteAlso, the teams that have been attacked the most on this blog are also the most successful (Sisk, Somabut, Branch, etc.). Nobody is criticizing anybody off of the cellar-dweller teams. So Lifetime, you guys are destined for success now.
seems silly to me, but i guess it makes some sense. I just find it hard to believe adults can display such childish jealousy and envy. With Sisk I can see people attacking Flora because he was just so far out of level, but Lifetime does not have anyone close to being like that. Yeah Eddie overhypes his team, but it is really just positive leadership.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more. To Achieve you must first Believe. Go Lifetime. Eddie
ReplyDeleteLooks like Forrest is Sandbagging on the Challenge ladder now to bring down his profile,
ReplyDeleteForrest Feuille 7 6 1
Jonathan Marcus 5 7 0
sandbagger!
ReplyDeletesorry I couldn't help myself, I never get to mean but yeah dropping a set to Jonathan. hmmm. sounds fishy...:)
ReplyDelete--Very Lucky Thunder
I will say this about Marcus...he is streaky with that forehand. If you are not putting the ball in the right place he can get streaky and beat you in a set. The problem is that he can't consistantly do that about good 4.0's. That score is a little surprising, but not shocking. I am sure Forrest see Marcus like a little brother though. So maybe he was taking it a little easy on him.
ReplyDeleteHey Cary... Quit wasting time calling people sandbaggers. Get that 4.0 fall preview done. You know the 4.0's are your biggest bloggers. Just look at the numbers with the separated sections. 4.0 has 162 comments. 3.5 has like 40 and 4.5 has like 20. Take care of your top customers.
ReplyDeleteY'know what? At the beginning of the year, I forgot to look at what year this was. Was it Year of the Snake, Lion, Dog, Cat, etc.
ReplyDeleteNow I know. This is the year to Rag on Jonathan. I can't wait until 2009, so y'all can pick a different subject.
I know but I have to take care of the little guys. Sorry but 4.5 is up next then 4.0. I won't to take me time with that one since I think we will have a great fall season. Still curious who will land on the Spark and HP/somabut rosters, I really doubt these are there final rosters.
ReplyDeleteThose guys are playing for second. You know the deal.
ReplyDeletenot if Forrest is dropping sets to Jonathan Marcus
ReplyDeleteJust little brother syndrome there. Watch the score of his next blog match. Marcus is getting better too. He almost took a set against a solid 4.5 guy a couple weeks ago in the blog challenge. Lost 1st set 7-6 then got blown out in the second. He is streaky.
ReplyDeleteJ Marcus is like a boxer with one big punch. If he ever lands it, its a knock out. Its just how often can he do it.
ReplyDeleteJ Marcus, if you want the hazing to stop, I think your just going to have to hit the court more, and a second demension to your game. Walk the walk...
LOL!!! That was funny!!! FORREST is dropping games against Jonathan Marcus in practice matches to what, keep his rating down?? LMFAO!!! You hit the nail on the head on that one.
ReplyDeleteMarcus is very streaky, and when he is on, he is on. Hell, look at his ladder results, no matter who he plays, he always has a positive lopsided set that is way off from the rest of the match. For you propeller heads, is it an outlier set?
Speaking of LTF, whose picking Eddie up at the airport?
ReplyDeleteEddie came back last Monday from Mexico
ReplyDeleteactually I just got back today. Marcus is streaky. I am glad to see him playing well. I don't worry about Forrest. He just finds a way to win. You do notice that he wont that match right?? Eddie
ReplyDeleteThe little guy, who's a 4.5 won!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe computer doesn't lie. Look it up he is a 4.0.
ReplyDeleteForrest F. (FF or Yuck face) is a 4.5 player. IF FF plays at the 4.0 level, then he's sandbagging. No if ands or buts.
ReplyDeleteRe: Forrest Sandbagging.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has ever played Forrest, they know full and well he doesn't sandbag. He plays hard and to win every point.
Although he has been helping me with staying focused throughout the entire match and that is helping.
I'm not going to challenge all of the "Streaky" comments everyone including my own teammates are making, my only response is to win a few tournament matches and let my racket do my talking for me.
But I'm far from streaky. Last fall when placed in the lineup consistently in singles, all I did was win every week. And my time will come again.
This is my last comment for a while, so everyone can now go back to ragging and psyco-analyzing my game. "What a Joke!!!"
Jonathan
Jonathan. I don't see streaky as being a negative. Most people don't have enough ability to be streaky. Being a top 4.0 player does require more consistancy, but you know that. I am confident this will come for you this season with all the work you are putting in. Not meant as a negative at all, just meant when you are hot, it is to beat you. Just ask Molina who is a good player and lost 1 & 1 to you a couple of months ago. Keep working at your game and shut everyone up with your performance. I know you will. Eddie.
ReplyDeleteIf i join Lifetime, can i get jerked off by Eddie like Marcus does..
ReplyDeleteGo play mixed doubles in a private room somwhere you two.
Flora out of level,Forrest not!Right?
ReplyDeleteSisk
If you get bumped, move up. The computer bumped Forrest up, so he should move up and give the 4.5 level a try.
ReplyDeleteSorry guys but Flora was out of level and I like Forrest's game but there is no way you can call him "out of level"
ReplyDelete
