Flight A
Not sure if it is the MOW but the Nwood v. BH match will be very interesting. Will Corey send out the scrubs? Does he have enough scrubs to lose this match? Team Branch will be laying in wait and ready to grab that 2nd spot as they take on Hackberry this week and most likely will sweep and then just wait and see.
Corey, time? place?
Flight B
This just comes down to one match, our MOW in which HP takes on OC Feldman for the 2nd playoff spot. I thought this was a gimme for OC but I have this feeling HP could score the upset here but I don't feel strong enough to go with that hunch and I will take OC Feldman 4-1.
The match will be at Northwood at 2 p.m. Saturday.
ReplyDeleteSTEVE KENT does not tank matches. STEVE KENT was practicing his left handed strokes. Whatever Eddie can do STEVE KENT can do better. Now STEVE KENT is angry. STEVE KENT is bringing his cooler full of whoop a## to the playoffs, and he will bring enough for everyone.
ReplyDeleteSTEVE KENT just posted under the wrong thread. STEVE KENT will bring his cooler of whoop a## to 4.5 next year.
ReplyDeleteTeam Northwood doesn't have too many scrubs. BH better bring the wood regardless.
ReplyDeleteI brought the wood last night
ReplyDeleteHow proud the Northwood players (scrubs) must feel. Knowing that the only reason young Cory is playing them is so that they can lose to help fulfill Cory's public blog prediction of "helping" Brookhaven in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteGo Scrubs.
corey is a scrub
ReplyDeleteit's all about the blog baby
ReplyDeleteNancy wont tank. He will play to win.
ReplyDeleteIf BH shows up lite thinking this is going to be handed to them, it would be a major mistake. That's all I am saying.
ReplyDeletenancy said that he was going to help brookhaven get in the playoffs and that is exactly what he intends to do. call it what you want, tank, help, play scrubs.
ReplyDeletelet's not sugar coat now - he is throwing a match to make sure Brookhaven gets in the playoffs.
It's 100% his call. Not illegal or against the rules, just stupid to announce publically and then go do it. He obviosly has not read the book "how to win friends and influence people."
I don't know what team you play for, but I doubt Nancy would make a move like that unless he had the support of his team.
ReplyDeleteNorthwood will show up with players ready to play and beat BH.
"To the victor belongs the spoils"
ReplyDeleteThe 9:09 poster is 100% correct. I e-mailed my team this weekend and asked them what we wanted to do this Saturday, and the vote was unanimous on what we will do. You guys can wait until Saturday to find out.
ReplyDeleteI hope they play straight up...since i am already in the playoffs, I only want to play the best competiton there
ReplyDeleteCory will lose to BH at all cost, trust me. He is telling everyone who will listen to him.
ReplyDeleteAll 3 of us.
what comes around - goes around Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. When I get my team to the playoffs I want to make it as difficult as possible for them to win. I mean if we go up in any of the matches I will tell my guys to start losing so the matches will be tougher. If we go 3-0 that would totally suck. :)
ReplyDeleteHow must it feel to be Branch at the hands of Northwood? I expect Northwood to enjoy their dominating position this season and look ahead to a showdown with Royal Oaks in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteWho cares about a throwaway match. How bad will HP beat OC this weekend?
ReplyDeleteI agree, the B Flight will be much more interesting.
ReplyDeleteCorey is going to find that winning their match vs. Branch earlier in the year was a big mistake. Now, Corey believes his team is actually better than Branch. So now, they will make the mistake of beating BH because their inflated ego makes them believe they can beat Branch in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteCorey should keep his ego on a leash, a very short leash. Unfortunately, Corey has as much control over his ego as he does his mouth...
HP/OC prediction - OC 3-2:
ReplyDeleteThey will split singles. L1 Doubles will go to HP but L2 & L3 Doubles will go to OC.
"Jimmy the tennis Greek"
Brookhaven is a very solid team. Playing them in the playoffs wouldn't be a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteI kind of feel for Corey as he and his team are in a no win situation. If they lose in the playoffs they all of a sudden "suck". If they win in the playoffs, its just fall and doesnt mean anything or they only won because Branch wasn't there - - yada yada yada.
I will tell you what I don't want is Royal Oaks winning the Fall so they can hide and protect their pro's all Spring. So I am for whoever can beat Royal Oaks.
I like Royal Oaks - they are nice guys and excellent players. They are playing by the rules and should have an excellent chance of winning it all this fall.
ReplyDeleteRoyal Oaks likes talking about themselves!!
ReplyDeleteWho cares!!!!
ReplyDeleteCorey wins, Corey loses, winner, spoils, blah blah blah.
It's the freaking fall and I don't care!!!!
Call me in March when I give a damn, AND IT MATTERS!!!!!!!!
Slezak
LOL - Now that was sour grapes. Thanks for the laugh Chris.
ReplyDeleteSlezak, If you don't care then why are you reading the blogs?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I'm missing the connection between reading the blog and how little the fall league means. But it was a really good attempt at a snappy comeback, or maybe not!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, how could I not read this stuff, it's better than the cartoon section of the paper.
Yall should lay off Corey, he's in first place, it's his choice how to play this match. Don't like it, beat him, otherwise, SHHHHHHH!!!
See yall in the Spring
Slezak
Ok, the H.P.- O.C. Feldman match will be very close.
ReplyDeleteIf I was playing I would say the odds are 3-2 H.P, but with me in College Station saturday trying to save the Aggies from almost certain death I think the odds swing to 4-1 O.C. Yes my play can make a two match swing.
As for the fall league most all of us understand why it is good to win it and also why it doesn't really matter.
I also have to agree with Mr. Slezak and say the Corey bashing gets a bit old and juvenile at times. I only respect the signed posts on here and feel sorry for the ones that hide their identity.
Corey seems to be a good sport about it and he also allows the 50+ players on his roster. Team Corey will be in for a good match regardless of whom he sends out there this weekend and I believe his team will go out there to win.
I'm hopeful we make the playoffs so we can get some good match play before the turkey hits the table.
More Endless Rambling from
Senior Buffalo (SuperSenior in 09)Crap, I'm gettin' old.
I agree with Slezak. I also agree that the fall doesn't matter unless you win. As I said before, the teams that won the fall in 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 last year, all advanced to Sectionals. So I'm not ready to call the fall meaningless for the winners.
ReplyDeleteBreaking inside information....HP team suffering from an asian flu outbreak!
ReplyDeleteI am with Cheezy - I have no freaking idea as to what he said, meant, or was talking about, but always and forever - I am with him and proud of that Steel Curtain on Monday Night.

Breaking inside information....HP team suffering from an asian flu outbreak!
ReplyDelete????
Asian fru????
wtf......
HP players do not have the flu. But most have herpes.
ReplyDeletenancy is a real ass but his northwood team will be tough in the playoffs
ReplyDeleteRegarding the Asian flu comment; you're a f##king a##hole, and if you'll notice I didn't hide behind an anonymous like so many cowards on this blog.
ReplyDeleterasor? what kind of asian name is that? must be married name.....
ReplyDeleteHey Dan, I was hoping to see you on the court this weekend, but I am gone to visit my son in Aggieland.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few cowards on here for sure and their comments are ignorant and I suppose if I was that stupid I wouldn't want to sign my real name either.
I know our team looks forward to a great match and some fun tennis this saturday. Wish I was going to be there. Hope to see you on the court sometime.
Phil McGregor (Buffalo)
Thanks,Phil; I don't chime in on this thing very often and most of the time the comments are just good natured kidding, but sometimes they cross the line, either because of stupidity or arrogance.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to our match this weekend, and win or lose, I'd be more than willing to have a beer (or two or three) with Todd & Jon and anybody else from the OC; I too will be eligible for senior play in 09; maybe the older you get, the less crap you're willing to tolerate.
We (A&M, Class of '81), need all the help we can get. I'm sure I'll run into on the court in the future.
I appreciate your comments,
Dan
What is Corndawg up to this evening?
ReplyDeleteI was trying to prepare for playoffs as usual. I'm also trying to figure out this new rule for no appeals for benchmark players. I know it was mentioned on this blog at one time. Anybody know where I can find it?
