"The Huff-Whines' Boys" Get Spotted 2 defaults by JCC and win 4-1
Lifetime squeaked by 3-2 over Stonebridge...
This is the only division left with two undefeated teams.
Huff-Whines will be tested this week by the wildcard Brookhaven.
Should be interesting.
If Huffwhines were to stumble this week they could stumble right out of the play-offs.

What's going on with Brookhaven? Are these guys going to be ready for the tournament? Does Brookhaven have any singles players that are worth a shit?
ReplyDeletenot much drama really in 3.5. garland/sisk is by far the best team and will easily win dcc.
ReplyDeletebig unknown -> will dallas 3.5 get a wild card this year to sectionals? if we do then huffines/ratcliffe or lifetime/kaiser has a chance to make sectionals as a wc
LT kaiser and Huffhines can beat Durdy.
ReplyDeleteI have seen all three teams and they are all pretty close. Huffhines has the best singles players (Big Oleg and Jones) but Durdy has a little better doubles. If Durdy gets a singles line, I think they win 2 doubles lines. Lifetime and Durdy would probably split singles and it is best 2 out of 3 in doubles. It could go either way. Bennett and Arcaria are better than anything Durdy can put out there so Durdy has to find a way to win 2 lines.
I think Lifetime beats Durdy 3-2.
We get to find out who will win Lifetime/Huffwhines round 1 soon enough.
anon 5:15
ReplyDeletewith all due respect you have not seen garland at their best.
Dallas deserves a 3.5 wild card to Sectionals this year. We have more 3.5 teams than any other city in Texas
ReplyDelete#3.5 Teams:
Dallas 27
Austin 20
FTW 18
San Antonio 16
Does anyone know when wildcards are announced?
What about H-Town?
ReplyDeleteYour right we probably have not seen GTC at it's best (we definitely know the reigns will be lifted off the self rates who have been managing their scores), but LTF has not played it's best lineup either, and neither has Huffines. All 3 are very good, and each team will have to play well to beat the others. Hopefully all 3 will make citys, Huffines or LTF will need to win the QT to make that happen. I would not sleep on GH either, they have some solid players! Its going to be fun!
ReplyDeletegood point
ReplyDeleteI see where the Bazan vs. Gerber singles match is on for tonight. All the 3.5 chatter from Gerber seems to have quieted down now that he has to actually play the match. Ironic? I think not!
ReplyDelete5:10 poster, dont think you know what you are talking about as Wiley/Clark on Garland will beat Bennett/Arcaria in 2 sets. As far as GTC spliting singles with LTF, not so fast my friend. We will take both singles from LTF no doubt about it! Just deal with it!
ReplyDeleteAlan I have been chattering today but just time and place arrangements, nothing crazy. I look forward to it. I tried to get a scouting report but no luck. I was slightly intimidated by his enormous biceps. I am going to take some roids before the match so I can feel a little hulkilicious.
ReplyDeleteCary,
ReplyDeleteDont let the arms fool you, the game dosent match the arms! The mouth however you should watch out for, cause if you lose.... well you think Eddie talks shit....
Is Sisk part Puerto Rican? I mean, have you seen the size of his ass. The only thing bigger is his ego and cheating ways. If you think Wiley and whomever can take out Arcaria/Bennett, you are out of your fing mind. I've played Wiley a couple times and he is so over-rated it's not even funny. He's a 3.5 lifer for sure, certainly no ringer.
ReplyDeleteHey Cary, these people are something else. They bitch when I post, then they miss me when I don't. Don't listen to that garbage about talking trash, in fact, win or lose results don't have to be published, I'm fine with either. But since it's a poll I'm sure inquiring anons will lose sleep if they don't know the results. I'm just looking to play and get better. All these loose lip anons can bite me.
ReplyDeleteGerber
Unfortunately, Garland/Sisk is 4-1 better than Life Time and Huffines. Not a horse race this year.
ReplyDeleteCan one of the garland experts tell me who on that team is so great?
ReplyDeleteI tried to look them up on tennis link but none of them have any history.
Please clue me in.
I don't play 3.5 and don't have a clue to who Garland's ringers are but here's how you usually find a ringer:
ReplyDelete1. Look at self rated players
2. Look at players who look like they tanked in the Fall to get bumped down. (Chris Gordon 0-7).
3. See if these players only played twice and either lost or had a close matches.
There you will usually find your ringers.
If you recall, Sisk scrimmaged Huffwhines prior to the season starting. He also scrimmaged LTF. One of his ringers beat Oleg something like 0 & 1, and the other beat Molina. Both guys were older. But knowing Sisk and Ratdick, they probably manipulated those scores too. But a week later, the same guy took out Dementedsare pretty easily at LTF. He didn't look incredibly impressive, but the guy won easily. Gerber beat the Garland line 2 guy, but don't remember his name and don't think it was the same guy that took out Molina.
ReplyDeleteWow Chris Gordon went 0 - 10 in 2007 -08,
ReplyDeleteHe is really dedicated to sandbagging! He has barely won a match in 3 years,
Watch out when Sisk finally turns him loose!
This is what makes Sisk such a great captain. Playoffs are about to start and most still have no idea who his ringers are.
ReplyDeleteWickman, Fonseca, Hathcock, Gutierrez and Heath are very solid 3.5s. Any of those first 4 have a great shot at winning line 1 or 2 singles and anyone else with Heath at doubles is a sure win.
Does anyone have a clue which players in each flight may get bumped up?
ReplyDeleteAnyone with Heath is a sure win at doubles? Please!!
ReplyDeleteThis has to be the same clown on both the 4.0 blog and 3.5 blog pumping up GTC. Its probably Sisk himself!
ReplyDeleteWe know Sisk, you are now going to post signing your name, telling us that it is not you and you do not post anonymously, but we do not believe it. Like we are suppose to believe a cheater like you does not post anonymously!!
Chris Gordon was and is a 3.5 playing up to 4.0. Last year he lost his matches at 4.0, but he was playing as a 3.5. He is not the ringer!
ReplyDeleteGTC has 2 ringers, Fonseca and Wickman, who will be solid singles for GTC. They are both out of level cheating self rates. I know GTC is banking on Heath/Hess as a good doubles line, but they are just OK, definitely not a ringer line 1. GTC does not have the doubles to beat Huffhines or LTF 4-1, maybe 3-2 with both singles winning and a doubles line winning, but winning 2 doubles lines is unlikely. Someone could sweep GTC in doubles!
Finding a ringer doubles teams seems much harder that rolling out ringer singles.
ReplyDeleteI don't think some of you guys understand about GTC.
ReplyDeleteFonseca is a big time singles ringer. He tanked one match for Sisk but plays OPEN singles touneys and is the best 3.5 singles player in Dallas. He wont lose a set in the DCC. Wickman is an old guy and looks like crap but extremely steady and will beat 95% of 3.5 singles players. He can be beaten by a very high level player.
Keith Clark is awesome _ by far the best 3.5 doubles player in Dallas. He can win a doubles line with almost any warm body. (He can also dominate singles if that's the way Sisk wants to play it.
Conan Heath and Tom Hess are a very strong team and you have them under-rated. They are every bit as good as Bennett and Arcaria.
Sisk also has Wiley and Hardwick who are not superstars but still won most matches even at the DCC.
HUFFINES
Has a couple strong singles players but crummy doubles. (Quite a few teams have better dubs than Huffines.) GTC will beat them 4-1 or 5-0.
LIFETIME
Bennett and Arcaria have a chance to win a doubles line. Big mouth Gerber will get waxed. None of the others will pose much of a problem for GTC. Again a 4-1 loss to GTC is likely.
That is why Keith Clark lost in the semis of the BH tournament because he can beat anyone in doubles?? Keep talking!!
ReplyDelete3:27 pmer, the only thing that needs waxing is your bikini line, and if it's anything like Sisk's, you better buy the Costco tub.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 3:27 PM,
ReplyDelete>>Big mouth Gerber will get waxed.
This will never happen, he can be beaten but will always fight to win.
>>Bennett and Arcaria have a chance to win a >>doubles line.
I think they will win there line.
I now believe 2 singles + line 1 doubles will secure LTF a 3-2 victory.
Dreamers!
ReplyDeleteYou guys seem to be damn sure that either Lifetime or Huffines will win QT (whoever losses that flight). What about Westlake or Fretz or Greenhill? I don't know much about them but their records speak for themselves and they are not exactly going to bend over in QT...
ReplyDeleteYou are also not giving those teams much of a chance in the city championships just like you wrote Brookhaven off...
If Argentina was able to pull off a HUUUUUUUGE upset in last year's Davis Cup Final over Spain, don't you think that BH, GH, Fretz or Westlake should at least be given some chance of playing out of their minds and taking this? You may know a lot more about these teams than I do but I am sick and tired of reading about 3 teams over last few weeks...
Westlake has no chance, GH definitely has a shot, not sure about fretz but I doubt it, and BH not a prayer in hell. Ltf or huffines will be the favorite in qt though.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened in the Bazan/Gerber match? I am guessing Gerber won, but anyone know?
ReplyDeleteBazan won 6-1, 6-2. Gerber's nothing but a big mouth.
ReplyDeleteYes Gerber won.
ReplyDeleteYes Gerber won.
ReplyDeleteWiley is overrated. He sucks and is an ass too. He has a pretty good 3.5 record because he plays with good players. His fatass nearly drug Clark down this last match.
ReplyDeleteGerber played well tonight and much smarter and more patient than myself. I had a rough 1st set (what is new, I know) I felt in control of the 2nd set and had 3 game points to get to 3-1 but the ghost of Eddie entered my body and somehow it was 3-5 by the time the Ghost of Eddie left me.
ReplyDeleteAlan and I play similar games but he is in better shape and plays that game a little better than I do right now. I look forward to playing him again with a different game plan on hopefully some more energy.
Thanks to the fans that came out to watch my demise.
Alan will only get better with time. If you didn't beat him now, chances are you won't in the future.
ReplyDeleteGerber has peaked! If and when he gets bumped to 4.0 he will struggle to win half his matches at singles, and I dont see much potenial for him at doubles. He better enjoy his win over Bazan because it most likely will be one of his last wins of the season!
ReplyDeletelooks like big ego gerber should be playing 4.0 and cary should be playing 3.5.
ReplyDeleteAnon 8:34 PM,
ReplyDeleteGreenhill has their backs against the wall. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they need to go 8-2 or better in the last two matches of the season vs Fretz & Oak Creek to win the flight outright. That is a pretty tall order, don't you think? You claim that either Lifetime or Huffines will win the QT so how are you giving Greenhill the nod over the other 3 teams? Chances are, those guys won't even be in the city championships (no offense to GH guys - I am just trying to go thru his idiotic logic)...
Think before you say stupid crap, will ya?
To the 8:40 pm poster, you must be the same guy that watched Oleg's match with your "pretty on the inside" wifey. Your information and vision are obviously skewed. You know they have cures for that these days, see a doctor.
ReplyDeleteCarey, appreciate the comments and thanks for playing, it was much fun and a great workout.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the comments about me peaking, that's real funny, just starting to get the hang of this stuff. And when I get bumped to 4.0, I expect to lose half my matches, but not for long. Unlike some of these 3.5 & 4.0 players getting bumped down, I started from scratch 3 years ago and have no plans on looking back.
Hate away boys.
Gerber
To anon 7:27
ReplyDeleteYour an idiot! Gh has a chance to win qt and go to cities where they have a shot. Ilike I stayed I like the chances of huffines or ltf better but gh has a shot. Why don't you get a clue before you spout off!
gerber = baby food
ReplyDeleteanon 8:24
ReplyDeletegerber = baby food
Wow, I bet he's never heard that one. Very original.
Predictions!
ReplyDeleteFlight A
Huffines 4-1 over BH (BH grow some balls and throw a decent lineup out there)
LTF 3-2 over DCC
HP 4-1 over JCC
Stonebridge 5-0 over Hackberry
Flight B
Garland 5-0 over Stonebriar
Westlake 5-0 over GH
HP 3-2 over LBH
OC 3-2 over CC
Flight C
GH 3-2 over Fretz
CC 3-2 over OC
Springpark 5-0 over BH
Gleneagles 3-2 over Villages
Anon 2, not sure who the hell you are, but you are on the money!
ReplyDeleteHere are my predictions;
ReplyDeleteAfter GTC gets upset by either LTF or Huffwhines, Sisk will get even fatter. He may just quit cheating all together and move to Puerto Rico to join his idols. After a year of trying to fit in and captain the team based on the size of his ass alone, he will get deported off the island after a good dose of hunga bunga.
Sisk will rejoin his partner in crime, Grandpa Bitter Beer Face, who will re-appear after being exposed as captaining a team full of sandbaggers and flat out cheaters. His face will look much better after year long preparation-H therapy applied to all the right places. The long lay-off will allow both scum bags to re-rate at the 3.0 level, and together with the originator, Bender, will form a 3.0 team full of 4.5 sandbaggers and they will finally win the long sought after national championship that has eluded them.
ps. Wiley will be left with Sisk's supply of twinkies and will keep growing exponentially. Hey Wiley, congrats on the cover of People Magazine the other day in drag, posing as Christy Alley. You can't fool us. Jenny Craig wants their endoresement back.
too funny!!
ReplyDeletegerber,
ReplyDeletewhen are you going to play a real 4.0 like wickman, yarmenko, sisk, c. jones or s. bert?
Haha, a real 4.0 and you list Bert and Sisk?? Those 2 are average 3.5 players!
ReplyDeleteJust like big mouth Gerber, Bazan is an average 3.5!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous June 17, 2009 6:53 AM,
ReplyDelete>>Gerber has peaked!
What bullshit, maybe he will only win only half his matches at 4.0 first season maybe all, however the only way to get better is to play better players and learn from your mistakes. It takes most people at least a season to get used to a new level....
Why don't you give your name so he can play you, big talker!
ReplyDeleteEd Ratcliffe
ReplyDeletegerber,
ReplyDeletewhen are you going to play a real 4.0 like wickman, yarmenko, sisk, c. jones or s. bert?
First of all, I have nothing to prove, other than the fact that with a little hard work anyone can get good at tennis and be at 4.0 in no time. If somebody calls me out as Bazan did (although I'm sure his case was in fun as he's a great guy), I will gladly play them.
Secondly, let me state my opinion on the guys you have listed;
wickman - I believe that is the older guy on Sisk's team. He is no 4.0 that is certain. He beat Oleg and Dennis easily and didn't look to break a sweat (at least agains Dennis when I saw him). An obvious sandbagger required to make a dent at nationals at the 3.5level, but still likely a 4.5.
Yaremenko - Obviously a 4.5. Maybe not a high level 4.5, but should be one no doubt, especially since he is a college player. I don't know Oleg or have anything against him, but I did see him play at the Plano Open and he clearly is way out of level. Anyone who played college (and not sure where he's from but he likely played since he was very young)and is now playing at the 3.5 or 4.0 level should be embarrased. He looked like he was fairly young and in good shape, so that can't be an excuse.
Sisk - Great guy and I would play him at anytime for the fun of it, but could care less if I beat him or not.
C. Jones - Don't know anything about him but from the ramblings on this blog and seeing his record, he also seems way out of level.
Bert - Saw him play for the first time at the Plano Open. My goodness, is that guy a past life samurai or perhaps a sushi chef? I would be afraid to get sliced to death playing him, but would play him no problemo. I'll just have to hydrate well cause I'll lose 10 pounds chasing his junk around.
My point is, I will gladly play people that are true 3.5s or 4.0s and will give them a run for their money, and legitimately. The ringers I will may have trouble with, but what exactly would be the point?
Gerber
No kidding, I am not sure if Bert is playing tennis or swatting flies with those strokes!
ReplyDeleteHey 8:17 pm anon, are you really that fing stupid? Argentina can pull off an upset sure, and Nadal can lose the French open. But was anyone talking about about Soderling until after the upset. I'm sure though that you are so damn smart that you put money on Soderling to beat Nadal, or heck, that you predicted he wouldn't win the French open.
ReplyDeleteGet a life you idiot.
We could have an All Dallas Fat 3.5 Team
ReplyDeleteSisk
Wiley
Bennett
Ratcliffe
Who else? Maybe they could win nationals in their weight class. Is there a Super Heavy Weight division? Maybe they thought 3.5 was 350.
Seriously, that would be a pretty good 225 and above 3.5 team.
I saw Sisk salivate when he watched Bert play tennis, and I think it's because he kept having flashbacks to being at a sushi restaraunt and watching the chef make him 200 California Rolls!
ReplyDeleteMitterer, Strohl and a few others are ready to play. Watch out for Brookhaven as they are very much under the radar.
ReplyDeleteLifetime rolled BH and will again at DCC. LT now has Klamecki and their self rate ringer Abadzic. Notice how he has only played 2 matches and is hiding. Klamecki is an automatic win at singles with Gerber and Abadzic, they will be 2-0 against everyone before we get to Bennett/Arcaria.
ReplyDeleteHey Lifetimer, I think they were talking about Oakridge versus Brookhaven. Doesn't matter, BH has nothing to play for and Oakridge would beat then even if they did.
ReplyDeleteI have played Oleg. He is not 4.5, but he is no 3.5 either. He is a mid to upper range 4.0 player. He would win maybe 60-70% of his matches at 4.0.
ReplyDeleteI think there are some other 3.5ers that can still beat him though. And he is from Djokovic country, so he probably can't take the heat of the summer
Klamaki is not an automatic win. All you have to do is take the pace off the ball and he will spray the ball. He does not like pushers. Play good defense and he will go for too much. Opps did I give too much away. Marc just wants to hit hard without having a strategy of set up the next shot. I would not count my chickens yet.
ReplyDeleteGerber - stop showing your ignorance. There is nobody on Sisk current team that could beat Defeo or Flora - so his current team is actually weaker than last years but this team will still win the DCC.
ReplyDeleteNobody in the entire 3.5 league is a 4.5 - NOBODY. They may be very good 4.0's but to call them 4.5 talent tells me you have no idea what a 4.5 looks like. Time and again last year people called Flora a 4.5 superstar and he could not beat most of the guys on the Garland 4.0 team.
Gerber,
ReplyDeleteIf you want to play 4.0 in the fall, I have a spot for you. All do respect Kaiser/LFT not the same team as Ferrell/LFT. Gtc is not the same team either. Hell last year Defeo wasn't even mentioned in the blog. All about Zack Courtney 4.5 + superstar. Glen Flora, All-American quarterback etc.........How did that turn out?
Dennis lost to Mead 2-4 is he 4.5? Does Dennis only lose to 4.5+supersters? Which singles players now would beat Farrells? Did Klameci play Mudsam? How did that turn out?
Sisk
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, you know better than to call out lines this early in the season. Everyone is assuming Klamecki and Gerber are playing singles, and that Arcaria/Bennet are my #1 dubs team. Don't count on it !!!
In terms of the Fall, Gerber can play 4.0 where he wants. I will be lucky to remain at 3.5 and may be back playing 3.0 at the rate I'm going.
Whatever the match up is, I promise you, my guys will not be a push over. See you in July !!
I saw Mudsam play a 4.5 singles match this week end and win 6-2, 6-3 or something,
ReplyDeleteGiven I think the guy he played as 4.0,
But Mudsam was the biggest 3.5 sham ever.
And If he would have showed up Garland would not have went to the nationals.
Didn't Flora beat Mudsam last year? in straight sets? Last year, both were 3.5 shams.
ReplyDeleteBoth were far better than anything I have seen this year.
ReplyDeleteSisk,
ReplyDeleteMudsum was a 3.5 last year, he just got a lot better by practicing, you should give that a try!
1. Kaiser must be the dumbest captain around. Why would he even mention that. Just do what you need to when you get there and shut the F UP you moron. Word has it that the LTF lonestar team is trying to recruit you but they are not quite convinced of your game lately.
ReplyDelete2. Lets get one thing straight, Mudsam is clearly a 4.5 and as Klamecki points out, he was the biggest 3.5 sham at the time. The only thing that slowed him down was his kids soccer and then a few months of tennis elbow. But he is just like Oleg in that they both played overseas since very young (juniors and who knows what else) and are now cheating their ass's off. The difference is that Mudsam is much better than Oleg, and keeps getting better. Flora and Mudsam may not compete at the 4.5 playoff level, but I can guarantee they win matches at that level, which is what it should be about, right?
3. Stop bullshitting about Flora. The guy is another 4.5 and saying that he could not beat the 4.0s on Sisks team is complete crap. The problem is that when Sisk speaks, he is talking about nationals, where all the cheaters like himself do their best work.
There is a reason you don't see Flora playing singles on the 4.0 team. His serve makes him a very good doubles player, but he is not consistent enough to beat top 4.0's at singles.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter if you weigh 165 or 265. What matters is if you win and how you compete against all of these self-proclaimed 3.5 superstars. It will be quite interesting and very funny to see a lot of these same guys get absolutely whipped come playoff time! Just remember, "silence is golden"...
ReplyDeleteIf you have game, you will no doubt show it on the court. Real players don't need to hide behind an anonymous posting to validate their self-worth.
At the end of the day, it will be those players NOT mentioned in this blog who will end up victorious!
Respectfully,
Klamecki's baby's mama
I think the bottom line is 3.5 has slipped a bit in the last couple of years so you guys probably need to relax on the ringer and sandbagger talk since each of you supposedly have one.
ReplyDeleteIf you put in perspective the 2007 teams (mine, Garland and Freemans team) and last year (Garland and LTF) were a big step up from any of the teams this year. I think you all are actually on a level playing ground which is a good thing but maybe what is making you nervous. Be thankful your playoff will not be lopsided as some of the other levels might be.
I figure I am going to start posting 3.5 comments since I lost to one the other night, I am trying to get that score into the NTRP rating, Marc any ideas?
3.5 Bump ups for the fall: Please contact me I am already starting filling spots for my fall team. You most likely won't play on the
SWAT team (except you sandbaggers) but I am running a 2nd team as well and looking for some guys looking to work on their games and improve for the Spring 2010 season including myself.
Mudsam has gotten WAY better since last year, and he was good last year! Easily the most improved player on the Lifetime Team
ReplyDeleteHey Klamecki's baby momma; If silence is golden, then why don't you practice what you preach and shut the F up? I'm sure you're just psst off cause nobody has mentioned your name, it's understandable.
ReplyDeleteMid-year ratings should be published around July 15th
ReplyDeleteWe will see if we can hack into them early again this year.
ReplyDelete;)
Cary is right. There is not one 3.5 team that is near as good as the top 4 or 5 teams last year. (GTC, OR, HP, OC, LTF)
ReplyDeleteEvery single team is weaker than last year's. And all players seem legit (except Oleg). Although, I did hear that someone from GTC did beat Oleg in a practice match.
Note: Not sure if I saw Sisk calling out lines, but I sure saw Big Bird do it.
Cary, You might want to strategize your 4.0 matches to get yourself bumped into your appropriate level where you might have a chance come playoffs. I think your conditioning has maybe dropped you a little bit so you don't have to hang around the bottom 4.0 tier, and instead you can play during important matches and probably put together a good 3.5 team.
Dallas 3.5 is definitely weaker this year.
ReplyDeleteLast year, GTC, LT & HP were probably the three best teams in the state. LT, OR and GTC are probably the best this year but none of those guys are stupid out of level.
Line #1 Doubles for LTF
ReplyDeleteGerber/Klemecki
That sound good?
I doubt Kaiser has any idea what he's doing.
This years 3.5 teams are not as strong as last years, SO WHAT? AS previously mentioned, not as many people cheating which likely explains it. Still a fair share, but unless you plan a year in advance and have people manipulate scores, it's getting harder to find the Mudsam's who just show up by chance.
ReplyDeleteDipshits -
ReplyDeleteI'm not calling line ups. I'm just saying anything can happen any where, especially when you are match 5 in a weekend at 100 degrees in July. Last year Sisk and Ferrell had Key and Beck on Line 1 singles.
I'm just tired hearing about the lack of depth and that this year's 3.5s are weaker than last year. My players are good and diverse, and we aren't just relying on one or two players.
You're are right though, my bad for saying anything. Silence is golden.
I have to disagree, LTF could be every bit as good as the team Ferrell had, except they do not have that out of level ringer like Mudsam, which is big though!
ReplyDeleteGTC is not as good, but it is tough to be when they had guys like Flora, Courtney, and Defeo as the cornerstone of the team. Those are 3 players that were way out of level along with Mudsam of LTF. They definitely have a couple players out of level this year, but I have hard time believeing they could be as good as Defeo and Flora. Defeo (14-0 at 4.0)and Flora are key parts to the Sisk 4.0 team this year, which is one of the top 4.0 teams and we are less than a year removed from those two playing 3.5. But we will know soon as Sisk has kept his new ringers scores in line to this point.
Flora, Courtney, Defeo & Mudsam are much better than anything I have seen this year.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you one thing for sure: last year's LTF team had a MUCH better captain (Ferrell) than this year's LTF team (Kaiser).
ReplyDeleteWhat has Kaiser done wrong? His team is 6-0 and has a shot at sectionals.
ReplyDeleteI agree with anon 11:02. Big Turd kaiser is just not very smart. also, mark ferrell is a much nicer guy. dont know how anyone could disagree.
ReplyDeleteFerrell a nicer guy? That is funny.
ReplyDeleteDo they always give out a wildcard for sectionals? Any idea how they determine it?
ReplyDeleteIf the LTF players voted which captain they would prefer to play for _ Ferrell would win in a landslide.
ReplyDeleteOLEG is the BIGGEST cheater in Dallas tennis!!!! This guy had a full scholorship to play at SW Baptist University (A top DII school) form the Ukraine. As a junior player he went 3 sets against Marat Safin and now he is playing 3.5 tennis less than 10 years later?? What a cheater!!! It must have been some third set against Safin, Safin wins and goes on to be #1 in the world at one point and Oleg sinks down to 3.5 tennis!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHE BIGGEST CHEATER!!!
THERE IS NO WAY YOU GO FROM COLLEGE TENNIS TO 3.5 WITHOUT CHEATING!
Ferrell would win because it takes being an asshole to be a successful captain. You have to be cut throat, willing to lose friendships and your morals (ie. Bender, Sisk, Ratdick. All the things that go against what tennis should be all about. Not sacrificing everything to go to nationals. You can have just as good a time by going with your buddies to Vegas for a weekend. So you are correct, Ferrell would win in a landslide.
ReplyDeleteThat may win Oleg the BIGGEST PUSSY ALERT award of all time. And his cheating ass captain is not too far behind as he must have known all this. How the hell do you go from being one of the top ranked Ukraine junior potentials to playing 3.5 tennis and having to resort to bad calls in 4.0 matches. A full scholarship ride to college, yet the system allows it cause he rated at 4.5 when he first started his cheating career of rec. tennis. The USTA is just as bad. There is no way in hell that Oleg fits the definition of a 3.5 players, and quite frankly nobody that has played college or even decent high school tennis should fit that description nor should they ever be allowed to play it. Heck, I saw people at the past Brookhaven tourny or even Plano Open that were close to 70 and still had that nice form and could be very competitive at 4.0.
ReplyDeleteThis is the bullshit that should not be allowed, and both he and his captains should be banned for it, period.
Why do I question that Oleg went three sets with Safin less than 10 years ago? Safin was already on the pro tour 10 years ago. Where do you get he played Safin? For what it is worth, I have no rooting interest (not in 3.5) but that just sounds preposterous.
ReplyDeleteAgree, it is impossible to go from college tennis to 3.5 tennis in less than 10 years unless your arm was chopped off. You do not forget how to play tennis in that time frame. When you first start up your timing may be off and you may drop a level in ratings, but to drop to 3.5, who is he kidding!
ReplyDeleteHe played Safin as a junior!! He played college tennis 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteHe got the athletic scholorship with a number of junior accomplishments, including a tough 3 set match against Safin in the Ukraine. It is true, ask Oleg!
ReplyDeleteWe all knew Ratty was a cheater.
ReplyDeleteFor those who do not know Oleg, he has been fighting injuries for over a yr now. Hence his play has suffered and he lost against 4.0 players. That's how he was dropped to 3.5.
ReplyDeleteIf what they say about Oleg is true the biggest medical problems he has are no heart and no guts!
ReplyDeleteDon't give me that! Many people on this blog have seen his stroke and game and know he is no 3.5 player! Injuries, come on! He is so injured that over the past year all he has played in is 4.0 and 4.5 tournamnets, and the only 3.5 tennis he plays is in league. He knows he is no 3.5 player and that is why he never plays any 3.5 tournaments.
ReplyDeleteOoooh Bitter Beer Faaaaaaace, speak up or forever hold your peace.
ReplyDeleteHe could have had double hip and knee replacements and he still shouldnt be a 3.5, period end of story!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAll you guys that are jealous of good Captains like Sisk,Ratcliffe,Bender,Somabut should just shut the HELL UP!!!!
ReplyDeleteDid he lose in 3 in a 3 out of 5 match?
ReplyDeletePlayed for Both Ferrel and Kaiser. Ferrel is the better strategizer, but this anon got it right.
ReplyDelete"Ferrell would win because it takes being an asshole to be a successful captain. You have to be cut throat, willing to lose friendships and your morals... Ferrell would win in a landslide."
Ferrell was a winner. If he did not make one bad line mistake in the Finals, that would be LTF at Nationals.
It is always easier to critize successful captains than to build a successful team yourself.
ReplyDeleteIn some perverse way whining and name calling seems to make some pathetic individuals feel better about themselves. "I'm a loser but's it's not my fault"
Sorry to hear you feel that way about yourself. Seek help and take anit-depressants, you may snap out of it one day.
ReplyDeleteAnon,If you have not grown up yet, forget it. Chatter from Marc/anon if Mudsam would have played,he beats Flora. How do you know he does or doesn't? Do you think Glen got lucky at dcc vs Mudsam? How do you know Morrison/Mahr beat Defeo/Delira, how do you know? Armchair QB. I could have put Zack at Line 2 dubs vs Ferrell, does it help us? Yes. Guaranteed win? No. With all your predictions you should have won Nationals, but you couldn't even pick the right team to join.
ReplyDeleteSisk, don't be bitter that Marc didn't join your team. Perhaps you should have offered $200.
ReplyDeleteNo way, do you know how many twinkies, ding dongs, and ho hos I could buy with that extra $100!
ReplyDeleteSisk
Oh and I forgot Nutter Butters!
ReplyDeleteSisk
Sorry, I didn't mean when I grow up but rather when I grow out. Nutter Butters sound good, I'll go get the Costco version so I can start the process.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the poster above. I played high school tennis about 10 years ago, did not pick up racket for those 10 years and I play 4.0. There is no way a former college player, injuries or not, could drop to the 3.5 level unless he was cheating. I do not see how he could have any fun in doing that.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to go to the nationals,
ReplyDeleteI can't get the time off of work,
and
Wouldn't be able to afford the Airfare without John's kickbacks. :(
Interesting that all the Huffwhines boys and Oleg supporters have gone quiet on the college play situation. No comments from the peanut gallery or are you all embarrased that you have a fully scholarshiped college player on your 3.5 team?
ReplyDeleteIt is probably the best thing for Huffines players to do, there is no way for them to defend it.
ReplyDeleteI play on the Huffines team and it does suck. We have a great shot at going to sectionals and to know that we did it by cheating sucks! I do not want to stir things up on my team, but just know not all of us on the team are happy about this.
ReplyDeleteI don't play on Huffhines or LTF and don't care so much about Oleg, but I am getting bored with all this talk. It just seems like another wild rumor of the week. Does anyone have any proof (preferably internet links) that Oleg had a full scholarship to a Division 1 school and/or that he played Safin as a junior? I'd be more than happy to forward this info to the USTA, even though I doubt it would do any good. I'll say this, if it's true and I again I highly doubt it, that would make him a pretty pathetic peice of dog crap. Somebody, put up proof or let the matter rest and we can move onto to some other wild rumor.
ReplyDeleteStraight from the SW Baptist ooach's mouth! I had to check when he had stated he played for them.
ReplyDelete"He was on the team, had a scholarship, and presented a great junior record from the Ukrane ( 3 sets with Safan in the juniors!)"
I would not bother with the USTA, he needs to be a self rate for it to matter.
Props to the Huffines player for saying something.
ReplyDeleteDoes this coach have a name and phone number where anyone can check on this? What you've just posted is not proof.
ReplyDeleteYou can believe it or not, I do not care! Nothing is going to come of it anyway. I am not here to make up lies about a player, that would be weak on my part. He said he had played there at the Plano Open, I checked with the coach, and that is what he said. The SBU coach has been there 43 years and I am sure has no reason to lie himself.
ReplyDeleteThis started because Oleg had said it himself to his opponent at the Plano Open. No one made that up. A little follow up work and it was confirmed. Believe what you want, I am not going to search for junior Ukranian tennis records to prove it to you, probably not the easiest thing to find.
ReplyDeleteMy point is that Oleg could have told his opponent he used to be 10 feet tall and that doesn't make it true. You've stated that you spoke to this coach and all I ask for is a coach's name and phone number as proof. Crazy rumors get posted all the time, but there is never any proof. C'mon, where's the beef?
ReplyDeleteI just don't want the coach to get bombarded with calls and emails about this. It is not fair to him for me to pass his email, etc on the blog. His name is John Bryant at SW Baptist. You can do your own homework if you want. There are multiple other people that know his ocntact info and if they feel more comfortable posting it, they can.
ReplyDeleteKlemecki's Baby's Mama is back...
ReplyDeleteContrary to the idiot who replied to my prior post, you all HAVE been talking about me quite a bit. And, its still going to be funny to see some of you self-proclaimed "great players" lose in the playoffs...that's all I'm saying.
Who cares if a team has a ringer. That ringer still has to play the match to win, right? So, why not just kick his sorry ass all up and down the court? That's what I plan on doing! You'll see. Many hearts are about to be broken!
By the way, Lifetime sucks. They just don't know it yet! LOL!
I googled John Bryant and he is the tennis coach at SW Baptist and has been for 43 years. I'm not going to bother the man. Just for goofs I googled Oleg as well. He has a long history of playing 4.5 tennis. I'm still not sold on the Safin rumor, but I will say that is patheitic he is playing 3.5 tennis. I could join a 3.0 singles league and win every match at my facility, but how is that any fun? I think the one post by the Huffhines player is legit and that not all of their club agrees with this. It's sad really.
ReplyDeleteIf any of Huffhines players are mad about Oleg being on the team they should talk to the coach about it and not be posting it on this pathetic blog!!
ReplyDeleteWhere and when is the huffines/bh match?
ReplyDeleteIn defense of the Huffines player that spoke up, Ratcliffe does not care, he is as bad as Oleg, probably worse as he is the one who talked Oleg into playing 3.5. Oleg has zero history of playing 3.5 until he met grandpa! This makes the whole team look bad.
ReplyDeleteAnd you guys fail to remember Oleg got crushed by Garland's top player? Sisk is the biggest cheater in Dallas by far, year in and year out. I keep thinking it's the same 2-3 people posting everything, cause the subject rarely if never changes away from Huffines.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who has played college tennis on a scholarship has no business playing level 3.5. And it doesn't matter how much time has passed.
ReplyDeleteIf you can prove it_ send the info to Tosha Smith and maybe we can get the cheating prick DQed.
We all know about the cheaters Sisk has, we just do not have any proof. Oleg opened the door when he stated he played college tennis. Sisk has his players manage their scores at 3.5 even though they have played open tennis. Believe me, everyone knows Sisk, Wickman, and Fonseca are all cheaters as well!
ReplyDeleteMarc,
ReplyDeleteIf you guy's advance and are NATS bound, get the time off work, I will help you on airfare. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT NOT GOING!!!It's a chance of a lifetime, and an experience that you will take to the grave. I'm sure Kaiser & Co. would help make it happen for you too. We can go to costco and get loads of twinkies and dingdongs to take.
I wish Oleg, Chris Jones the best, and the rest of grandpa's posse! They are only ringers on someone elses team. I tried to recruit Oleg the same time I got Zack Courtney, but he was working out an injury. Any team in the USA/ Russia would take him, if they say they wouldn't,LIARS.
ReplyDeleteLooks like 3-4 of Rattys top players are playing in Tyler,Molina,Anderson,Moore, and the Great Oleg just got beat 0-1 in the 1st round. So I guess he's not as good as everybody thinks he is.I guess we'll see in the next couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteOleg felt the heat of the blog,
ReplyDeleteSo he drove out to Tyler and tanked intentionally.
So many ridiculous comments on this page I had to write them all down.
ReplyDelete1. Whoever said Garland would be lucky to beat Huffhines didn't see the scrimmage when Garland destroyed them in the preseason.
2. "Greg Wiley is an average 3.5." Well so far in 2009 he is 11-1 in 3.5 and 3-4 in 4.0. That sounds like he is a low 4.0 at worst, especially considering that he played with a weaker partner in many of those matches.
3. "Oleg would easily win 60 to 70 percent of his matches in 4.0". He is 20-15 so far this year, not counting defaults. Ten of those wins were in consolation, which is usually full of 3.5 players. Everybody gets so carried away just because somebody played a higher level in the past. He is a low to mid 4.0 at best.
4. "Mudsam is clearly a 4.5". He is 1-3 this year in 4.5 with his only win being against a 4.0 player. He and Flora do not win matches at the 4.5 playoff level ever!!!
The funniest part about all of this is that nobody will be talking about any team but GTC once the DCC is over.
I would love to know how a guy that split sets with Marat Safin ten years ago loses 0 and 1 at 4.0. Probably because it never happened.
ReplyDeleteSafin was #1 in the world in 2000 and Oleg was 3-14 in 4.5 in 2003. Maybe he split sets with Safin when he was like 8 years old.
Cause the 3.5 blog is full of whiners and conspiracy theorists who can tell you who really killed JFK and Elvis.
ReplyDelete"Oleg felt the heat of the blog,
ReplyDeleteSo he drove out to Tyler and tanked intentionally"
funny quote
nancy is a real piece of work. i'll give that!
ReplyDeleteNancy should worry more about is 4.5 so he avoids getting crushed by teams like he did last week against HP. Two losses in a row Nancy. I would not worry wbout 3.5 tennis!
ReplyDeleteSisk, I must say that you are a stand-up guy in that you are overly nice to people on a personal level. The oddballs, nerds, or whatever you want to call them, like Cory, Kaiser, Wiley, etc. So on one hand, you are this really nice guy, yet on the other hand you would run your own mother over and back over her if it meant going to nationals at recreational tennis. That amigo, makes you a hypocrit by definition.
ReplyDeleteLets forget all the name calling and conspiracy threories for a second. Cory's comments as well as the anons and all others concerning who is good and who is bad don't really matter cause they are all opinion. I may think Wiley is decent 3.5 and Cory or you may think he is a 4.0 doubles players. People can argue that all day, and in the end none of it matters.
The part that nobody can argue is about Oleg. If you guys think it's all made up BS (which I know for a fact that you and Ratcliffe know is fact), why don't you just simply ask him. He's at all the tournaments and you obviously know him. Doesn't matter if he played Safin at 8 or 18, at some point he was good enough to get a full ride in college. Even if he has had injuries or quit playing for 10 years, the strokes are there, and there is no way in hell he would ever fit the description of a 3.5 player, no matter how you put it. The system has been manipulated to appease a couple at the expense of others. Everyone can keep trying to muddy the facts, but in the end, the truth will come out.
You can't have it both ways Sisk, you either have morals or you don't, not just when it's convenient for you. If guys like yourself and Ratcliffe feel good about yourselves, so be it, but in the end, what goes around will come around.
And Cory is Still a faggot!
The strokes are there???? Really???? Then why did he lose 0 and 1 in the first round of Tyler. And don't give me that tanking crap. Nobody drives two hours to lose 0 and 1 on purpose. As far as me staying out of the 3.5 thread, I made two posts out of 167 and I am one of the blog administrators so I hardly think I'm out of line by reading. Stop talking about "4.0 and 4.5" players in the 3.5 section and I will stay out.
ReplyDeleteSomebody has to tell you how ridiculous your statements are. Not only that, I have said very little about Sisk's team this season because I don't know many of his guys or the other teams so I don't have an educated opinion to make.
I also said that his 4.0 team was not one of the top two in Dallas so you can't say I'm playing favorites.
Who cares why he lost, doesn't matter. Facts are facts, whether he's tanking or not, or has lost it, or whatever, shouldn't be a 3.5, ever. Do you really think that Sisk's or Ratcliffes ringers are legit 3.5 players? C'mon Nancy, even you know what the deal is, just face up to it or shut up already.
ReplyDeleteNo kidding! You have a few teams that have some of the best computer rates at 3.5 and you, Nancy, claim GTC is the favorite with all self rates. What does that say about those self rates? You look so stoopid Nancy when you try and defend Sisk and his antics. Just shut up already!
ReplyDeleteOk get 14,4.5 talented players in the fall, have them self rate at 3.5. Have them switch hands, lose every match, in the spring all are computer rated. THEY BLAST EVERYONE OUT OF THE CITY AND STATE AND LOSE AT NATIONALS. Do you feel better now. At any level,in the post season, do you think anyone is out of level? Either you are clueless or never played post season.
ReplyDeleteAlright Coredawg -
ReplyDeleteI have no qualms against you and I really shouldn't be posting a thing given it is Father's day and I have had a few beers after our match.
However,
Regarding your Jun 20 post and "so many riduculous comments on this page I had to write them all down".....
1) Yeah, GTC "destroyed" Huffhines 3-2 preseason. What the f do you call it when LTF whipped them 4-1 in pre-season??? Did you hear me boasting all over the blog about that, or using that as an indication as to what our season would look like??? No.
2) "Wiley is an average 3.5" --- yes -- you graciously defend his record, and I have no problems with Wiley. But any time he does lose, it is blamed on his f-ing pulled groin.
3)Your defending Oleg speach....First of all, 20 out 25 matches is 57%, rounding up is 60%. Second - the player history was brought to my attention, and I will vouch, he went to Southwest Baptist on scholarship and per his coaches mouth, was brought over there because of his junior history and playing with Safin. He did state he was a disappointment in actual play and did not play any matches if any. But those are the FACTS. I brought it to USTA's attention as any other good captain would do, but per USTA, you can be playing pro, and as long as you are not self rating the first season, and have a rating in the system, you can be playing any level the system says. So I guess in 5-7 years, we will see Federrer and Nadal playing on Bender's or Sisk's team.
Your comment about Oleg are spot on. He should be playing better tennis. And playing 3.5 league with his background should be an embarrasmant to him.
4)Can't comment on Mudsam because don't know his play and too drunk now to research it.
Last comment about everyone talking about GTC.... you are probably right, but it won't be for the reasons you suspect.
And lastly, about LT/BL, he is a stand up guy, no ego, and is willing to contribute anywhere he can to the team. It is a great pleasure having him on our team, and he is an outstanding addition.
Alright Anons --go ahead and bash me now since I made another post....but we are sitting 7-0 going to Huffines. Best scenario we win next week and go to City, worst is we lose and get to play more tennis in the QT. Either way, it has been a good season.
O.K. --last time I post with a 5 beer buzz. Steaks are on the grill and it's time to eat!!!
Sounds like kaiser started celebrating a week early.
ReplyDeleteGo Kaiser Go! You are right, you won 4-1, but I played with Granpa, who carried me by the way- not even om my team and #2singles not on my team. I played who I had available and filled the gaps. If you lose next week, does that mean we can beat you, since we beat them? Heck no. Doesn't mean squat other than you lost. Those pre-season matches are meaningless, a new season begins July 17th and all teams will put forth their best available. I wish everyone well!
ReplyDeleteC'mon Mudsam played at lifetime and you never seen him play, or don't know him? Ok look at his record as a 3.5 and tell me he had a better position to play 3.5 than Oleg!!!!!!!!! Kaiser,Kaiser.
GH beat Fretz 4-1 today.
ReplyDeleteWe are still in the hunt for the division.
Kaiser- You needed a couple of beers after almost losing to a team missing 2-3 of their top players. What kind of excuse will the great Gerber have for losing his match. If Dallas Country Club didn"t have to forfeit a line you probably would have lost!!By the way Huffhines crushed playoff bound Brookhaven 5-0 with only 1 match being close.Looks like you will have your hands full next week-end.As far as LT/BL is concerned if he was half as good as he thinks he is he would be O.K. but he"s not.I will be 1 of the people watching your match next Sunday rooting for Huffhines.A Lifetime hater.
ReplyDeleteHuffines lover -
ReplyDeleteDon't get your panties all in a wad about the 5-0 smashing against Brookhaven. Freedle playing line 1 singles?? Sounds like a tank match to me. Look at the guys record. Either Brookhaven is absolutely desparate or they are taken advantage of their "ticket" to City. I wouldn't get all cocky on that line up they put out there today. I'm surprised Alzuro wasn't playing Line 2 !!
Gerber pulled his groin......Oh! Sorry!! That is Wiley's excuse !!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to laugh my ass off when Lifetime doesn't make it out of the QT. I don't care how much talent they have, if a a dipshit like Kaiser is running the show, he'll figure some way to screw it up.
ReplyDeleteProps to Kaiser for making the blog interesting!!! If nothing else, you have to give him props for putting his name behind it (no matter how wrong his opinion may be). There aren't any stand out teams this year. It will be a dog fight this year. But no team is stacked like last year.
ReplyDeleteThe main point is that Oleg is nowhere near a 4.5 and is probably not even in the top 5 of the 3.5s in Dallas, I know at least 2 players on John's team that can beat him. As far as Wiley goes, his record speaks for himself and if he makes excuses for his losses, that doesn't make him a weaker player.
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand that just because somebody played college tennis they are somehow a tennis god. We had girls on our college team that couldn't even sustain a rally. Should they be rated 4.5? The fact that Oleg played college tennis should not put him at a 4.5 level, he is fine where he's at. He should probably be playing 4.0 but your beef is not with him, it's with the USTA computer.
Cory, I didn't realize you were on a girls tennis team, now I understand the deal with the skirt. Where you one of the hotter ones on there?
ReplyDeleteNobody is saying that Oleg or any college players should be playing 4.5. What people are saying is that there is no way a college player should be playing 3.5. Anyone that plays or played on a college team should have decent strokes, perhaps no consistency, but where did you go to college anyway, St. Mary's? A 4.0 is probably a happy medium and happens to be where Oleg is doing quite well at. Again you go spouting shit off that is meaningless. You know a couple players on John's team that could beat him. Look who the hell you are using as an example, the biggest cheater of them all. So you know a couple of 4.0s that could beat him, that tells us alot. It seems you are due for another dose of Sisk's beef injections which you at least seem to take like a man.
Corey, What the hell do you know about 3.5 tennis anyway?? All you know is alot about your buddy Sisk's 4.0 ringers playing on a 3.5 team. Please Shut the hell up!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Fretz is on it's way to QT!! Big loss for them, because if GH wins this week they will hold all tiebreakers! GH should win.
ReplyDeleteForget the match of the week, we have the match of the season this week with 7-0 Huffines vs 7-0 LTF. I would say let the smack talk begin, but I believe it already has for the past 6-7 weeks!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone thing Durdy will go undefeated in the regular season? Who do they have left to play?
ReplyDeleteyes, Durdy goes undefeated the rest of the way, and will hold the number 1 seed going into DCC.
ReplyDeleteI like Cory's messages. I think it is entertaining.
Ok I just looked at the schedule - so if Durdy loses to Sam Grand (or even worse, one of the top Durdy players is wounded by a stray bullet (if they play at Sam Grand), do you STILL think they win it all, even with that minor setback? I know it's a LONNNNNNGSHOT, but just playing devil's advocate...
ReplyDeleteMatch of the season is going to be joke of the season. Lifetime loses 5-0, guaranteed.
ReplyDeleteHaha, LTF losing 5-0! Huffines has 2 strong singles players and an overall very good team, but no way they sweep LTF. Anon, tell me how you think Huffines wins 5-0??
ReplyDeleteHe is just trying to be a jackass! It will be a close match either way.
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteYou got it wrong, Wiley pulled Gerbers groin, that's why he lost!!!!!!!
Big Bird,
ReplyDeleteWhy are you even talking? You my friend are an idiot! If LT BL would have joined huffines or gtc you would be trashing him like you are Oleg and Sisk's ringers, but since he is on your team he is just a great guy and a pleasure to have on the team.... you make me sick!
You ltf pricks are just "bitter old men" that are scared to play gtc or huffines because you have no confidence in your tennis games so you get on here and piss and moan and bitch all the time, you need to just let it go!
I agree Kaiser is a dildo, what has he ever done? At least Sisk captians a winning team and can win a match on them as well.
ReplyDeleteLifetimes weakness has now been exposed, they have no singles players that can win when the heat is on, what a bunch of "chokers"! Probably just a bunch of fat old men that cant handle the pressure.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the odds that we see Kaiser or Ratcliffe in the line up for this coming weekends matche?
ReplyDeleteBy the way big bird/kaiser, you might want to check your numbers as what you put down doesnt match what corey was saying. Have another beer you moron!
ReplyDeleteI got # 200! Long live the anon postings!
ReplyDeleteyes, more quantity and little quality... if any... not even trash talk here... just name calling and bitching.
ReplyDeleteSorry, you got 201, not 200. Looks like that extra second to pick your nose hurt you.
ReplyDeleteQT looks to be Westlake (HP has an outside shot), LTF or Huffines (probably LTF), and Fretz unnless GH chokes.
ReplyDeleteCities will be Garland, Greenhill, Brookhaven and LTF or Huffines (probably Huffines).
LTF will win the QT and join the other 4 in City! I do not see Fretz or Westlake beating LTF.
Alot people counting us out this weekend against Huffines. Huffines has a very good team, but I think we have a good shot at winning. It will be fun!
ReplyDeleteAnon2 - There will be 6 teams in the playoffs. The 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each flight have post season activity.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know the time of the LTF / Huffhines match on sunday 28th ?
ReplyDeleteI second that comment. I don't care how good I get, I will never play for people like Sisk or Ratcliffe. BigBird is the man!
ReplyDeleteAnything I can do to make the blog interesting, I will. I never said John didn't have 4.0 players. If you remember last season, i said John didn't have "4.5+ superstars."
ReplyDeleteEvery 1st place team in every flight of every division has players that are a level above what they should be playing, otherwise they wouldn't be winning.
The way to fix this problem is what I've said all along, which is to not allow self-rated players to participate in the playoffs. Who would the favorites be then?
I also haven't made any comments about John's players this season because I don't even know half of them. I have never even seen Terry and I haven't seen Jesse in about five years. But I know John, and I know that he will get the best players possible to win. Other captains aren't willing to do that, and so they lose.
As far as Mudsam goes, I have no personal issues with him and I've never met him or seen him play. I can only go by results and his results are not at a 4.5 level in my opinion. Does that mean I can beat him? No. I would bet there are a few players playing 4.0 that could beat me. Nonetheless I would be happy to play him anytime but I don't see the point.
Keep it up. This thread has made me realize that the anons are the lifeblood of the blog. Without you, I would have no reason to have to check the blog every day to defend myself.
The Lifetime/Huffhines match is at 2PM Sunday.Bring the popcorn!!!!
ReplyDeleteCory, nice back-tracking on your words. And to answer your question, the easy winner would be LTF without the cheating going on. Getting rid of self rates in the playoffs would not fix the problem, that would only eliminate the cheaters on Sisk's team. What about the ones that are tanking matches at doubles so they can help their buddies out at the lower levels. In your honest opinion, do you think guys like Chris Jones and Oleg Yaremenko should be playing 3.5? C'mon, be honest now. The USTA either needs spotters back or another way of ranking players. I don't have all the answers, but there's something clearly wrong with the way it is now.
ReplyDeleteplayer ranking will always be wrong unless there is one division. no system is perfect. there will always be outliers, who are then supposed to get either bumped up or bumped down at the end of the season. you all see it as a glass half empty versus the glass half full. no one will ever improve unless you play better players. also, you would never see anyone's potential unless there is someone better to push them competitively to the next level.
ReplyDeleteon the other hand, self-rates will always be a problem (not because they are cheating) but because they are ignorant of either NTRP level system or their own playing ability. Ultimate Tennis makes rookies (self-rates) ineligible for playoffs. i think something similar needs to be instituted for USTA league tennis.
Anonymous 10:22 PM,
ReplyDelete>>Ultimate Tennis makes rookies (self-rates) >>ineligible for playoffs.
I don't think that is exactly true. I am playing Ultimate for the first time this year (rookie year) and my first two matches were red flagged because they were uncompetitive (so I would not be able to play in the playoffs). However my next two matches were competitive so now the red flags have gone and I will be able to play as long as I qualify by winning.
That is true. Ultimate gives you a rating that changes after every match. If your eating goes above a certain point you are ineligible for the playoffs. It is like the usta, but you are ineligible for the playoffs versus being dq'd!
ReplyDeleteThe player may not always be cheating because he has no idea about the rating system, but the coach who is recruiting him sure does. Sisk has a 3.5 team and two 4.0 teams and he knew where those 2 players belonged. He cheated by having them self rate and then has had them manage their scores to avoid flags! That is cheating!
ReplyDeleteSo QT has 6 teams? If that is the case there are some big matches this week for teams, besides the obvious LTF vs Huffines.
ReplyDeleteFlight A has HP against BH, HP wins and they are in the QT. If BH has an automatic seat, does the 4th place team go? If so, that opens up the door for DCC as well if BH beats HP.
Flight C has the Lakes and CC fighting for 3rd place, with the same record and only 1 individual win separating them. It could come down to who beats there opponent by a larger margin.
