I think that most would concur that this draw has been watered down by the Abilene Major Zone.
And in terms of seeding, in doubles, rarely can you judge the quality of the teams by how highly they are seeded.
I don't see anyone that really stands out, so predictions from the anonymous are welcome.
Is anyone interested to doing the interactive Draws again?
It's a bit of work, but I could have it done in a couple days.
let me know.
Two-Face Out!
You know the deadline for Abilene was like 4 days later and Brookhaven gets its draws out faster. Say what you want, but BH does a great job of managing tournaments. Draws are always out on time - sometime early.
ReplyDeleteAbilene tournament director - take note - YOU SUCK!
I notice that BH even pushed back the deadline a couple days to get more players,
ReplyDeleteHow hard is it to make a draw?
Doesn't the computer pretty much do it for you?
You have to assign the times, but WTF?
So many tournament directors make it harder than it has to be.
It's not like they don't change the shit up on match day anyway.
It's going to be a warm weekend,
ReplyDeleteWonder if some matches will be outside?
Considering its called the indoor championships I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteThe draws are sent out to Austin for approval and than turned back over to the local TD to post. Austin should be the problem unless the TD has to make changes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for starting this thread:)
ReplyDeleteKlamecki and Kotlarek are far better than the #2 seed of Thomas and Corfman. K&K will easily beat those guys and I think they will win it all.
ReplyDeleteTo bad that Austin does not also get involved with how the DTA places league teams into flights. Secret seedings, placing the top teams together in a single flight etc. should not be allowed.
ReplyDelete"Klamecki and Kotlarek are far better than the #2 seed of Thomas and Corfman. K&K will easily beat those guys and I think they will win it all."
ReplyDeleteI think they could have trouble with Bennett/Arcaria should be a good match if they play each other.
Agreed, Bennet/Arcaria will take 3.5. The seeds mean very little as I don' see any of the 3.5 seeds contending.
ReplyDeleteShahab played with Bennett and won the Cotton Bowl. If he wins this tourney with Anderson, he should be bumped to 4.5.
ReplyDelete"Shahab played with Bennett and won the Cotton Bowl. If he wins this tourney with Anderson, he should be bumped to 4.5."
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to 4.0?
I played against Shahab in that Cotton Bowl and he is pretty good. Bennett is good but Shahab is at another level.
ReplyDeleteHey (-Y-), that was a shot at Anderson.
ReplyDelete"Hey (-Y-), that was a shot at Anderson."
ReplyDeleteOOOOoooo is he not good?
Shabab he was on a 5.0 team rated 4.5 then 4.0 team this past fall on lifetime. Now rated 3.5, how many numbers do you have? Shabab, you told me at the tri-level dta said you could only go 4.0! Please tell me what to do because I need Corey Noel, Jim Young,Doug Fair,Blake Mason, and Trey Mckinney on my 3.5 team! Go kick butt at 3.5 you are the man! I wouldn't have mentioned this if you wouldn't have mentioned this information at tri-level!!!!

LOL that is ok I do not mind that you say anything I actually only entered the 4.0 mixed doubles but Ware emailed my partner and told her since she is a 3.5 player we could play in the mixed 3.5 she just had a kid so maybe he is taking mercy on her. Then the deadline was moved back and I played doubles with kim against steve and shawn and kim wanted to play so I figured what the hell why not. Sorry Sisk that I can not play on your 3.5 team but I did email the DTA and they said when the league starts in spring that I should try to play 4.0.
Alex, you mentioned it to me too but I opted to keep that to myself.
ReplyDeleteThe shot at Kim was uncalled. He is a good player and a really good guy. I think you guys are very capable of beating everyone in the draw.
Oh well, I guess my recruiting you for 3.5 is for naught. Do you need a 4.0 team?
Also, love the name and pic.
"Alex, you mentioned it to me too but I opted to keep that to myself.

haha I been having fun on this site only a few people knew it was me. I do not have a team yet greg but what ever team steve will play on I will probably be on. I have decided to really start playing again and will look forward to playing 4.0's in spring on what ever team I am on. OOOOOO and Kim is a good guy I will enjoy playing tennis this week with him.
I'll take Anderson in a nanosecond!
ReplyDeletePlease help me get the guy's mentioned to 3.5, I need them!
Sisk
what is this? a 3.5 circle jerk?
ReplyDelete"I'll take Anderson in a nanosecond!
ReplyDeletePlease help me get the guy's mentioned to 3.5, I need them!
Sisk"
I will let him know this week.
Seems to a be a tournament of sand-baggers at the 3.5 level.
ReplyDeleteI thought the point was to raise your ranking not lower it.
Must be a big paycheck for the winners...
Me, I'll just plug away. If I earn a 4.0 this year, you won't find me giving it back.
Better to lose in the big pond than win in the little one.
Shahab,
ReplyDeletePlease explain how you can go from playing on a 5.0 team in 2002
to playing in a 3.5 tournament in 2009?
And I hope it involves losing a leg or something!
How do you look yourself in the mirror?
Klamecki playing 3.5 again. I thought he was a man of his word. Guess not.
ReplyDeleteShahab did not win any matches at 5.0 and if he looks in a mirror he sees an extra 100 lbs. The man cant even tie his shoes.
ReplyDeleteStill this Shahab guy should not be the 3.5s if he even played in the 5.0s.
ReplyDeleteMy dog could sign up for 5.0 and would have the same result.
ReplyDeleteI like Lasalle and Ramos in the 4.5s and 4.0 will be between Bin/Chad and Steve/Scott. Brouer/Fraser, not sure how that will turn out. It could work but hmmm I dunno.
ReplyDelete"Y", nice to know your "clark kent" name. If you are in need of a 4.0 team, look me up. We have a little room left.
I like to see that the majority of the 3.5s being talked about will be on my Spring team! Another hot team of late is Scott Musick and Keith Scribner --they have been playing well together and beat Klamecki and his partner in the junior tri-level (results not shown as his partner showed 10 minutes late and the official defaulted their match. They played without knowing until they went to turn in the scores and were told they wouldn't record it.) They also beat Dwight Burt's tri-level team Krivacic/Mays and beat Richy Waters and Vanderwater of Brookhaven in the regular season.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the draw has paired 4 of the Lifetime teams against each other in the 1st or 2nd round. Sort of defeats the fun of things when you are playing your own players you play week in and week out with.
I have not seen Shahab play but from what I hear, he should do well with Kim. Still believe Bennett and Arcaria will be the team to beat. Regardless, I see a Lifetimer taking it !!
kaiser
Sisk, you are a hypocrite. Did you not ask Shahab to play with you on this blog last week for this tournament? Is only ok for him to play 3.5 with you? Get off his back, as you are known for picking up sangbaggers.
ReplyDelete3.5 must be the only other draw at BH.
ReplyDeleteSlezak/Kiron in 4.5. Steelers got lucky.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the picks for the Abilene MZ? The draws are finally out.
ReplyDeleteAbilene Predictions:
ReplyDeleteOpen: Another year of Valdez domination
4.5 - Winner of Moser/Sevin should be heavy favorite. Top seems tougher based on those 2 guys presence there. Would assume Noel and Miles coast to semis in their half.
4.0 - Top half seems tougher. I'll take Nguyen. Blackwell could contend. In the bottom I will be interested to see how Terrell does. Winans and Carter could make the final as well.
3.5 - Umm who cares right. I guess I'll go with Molina.
In both 4.0 and 4.5 doubles I see the top seeds meeting in the finals.
4.5 - Lasalle/Ramos
ReplyDelete4.0 - Carlquist/Nguyen
3.5 - Bennett/Arcaria
I like Jacques Delira to make it into the semis of Abilene in the 4.0.
ReplyDeleteHe is wayyyy past due for a breakthrough.
Abilene MZ:
ReplyDelete"And in terms of seeding, in doubles, rarely can you judge the quality of the teams by how highly they are seeded".
I disagree. A player with a seed earned the points to be seeded. They don't just get place in that spot. They had to win whether it was a sweep or close tie-breaker against weak or strong players, who cares, a win is a win. The points don't magically appear in their rating.
It must be nice to be seeded #1 or #2 in most tournaments. Some people don't have that luxury even though they play every sanctioned tournament every year.
Good luck to all the top seeds in Abilene. Show off your game and prevail this weekend. I'm sure all the winners will be talked about in the blog.
Ya, but in a 8 team draw, or even 16 team draw, you win one match and accumulate points. If you play alot of sanctioned tournaments you will get points and it does not mean you are a top team. I disagree, seeds do not mean that much.
ReplyDeleteSeeding is less important in the local tournaments. In the Major Zones, those players earned their seeding and are probably pretty solid.
ReplyDeleteLocal tournaments have alot more local players who have zero to no points because they dont play too many tournaments a year - thus alot of the top players are not seeded.
Anderson is a solid 3.5 player and will hold his own in this tournament! They have a strong team and will be in contention!
ReplyDeletePersonally I think tournament directors should have more say in seeding. This would prevent top seeds playing really strong local players in the first or second round. Ringers often come out to play local tournaments and beat up on everybody. Phillip Griggs and Bill Foulon did this for years at Brookhaven without being seeded.
ReplyDeleteI asked for -y- to identify himself,he didn't. I didn't know it was Alex. You are a strong talent Alex. If you didn't have the history of different ratings and such, I'd definately want you.In fact I'd need 4-5 just like you for deep post season play!!
ReplyDeleteSisk

Of course I stopped playing tennis when I was 18 in 2000 a friend was in need of someone to play on his 5.0 in 2002 by now I had already gained some weight and had not picked up a racquet in two years so I just went there to fill a spot so they would not have to forfeit the line. That was the last time I played tennis until the end of 08 when another friend called me and told me he was on a 4.0 team and they would have to forfeit a line unless I could come play one time so I did and had fun so I decided to start playing again. Since 02 I gained almost 100lbs and tore my meniscus in my right knee at work of all places bending down to pick something up from the floor. The reason I ended up in 3.5 was my partner in that one 4.0 match at the end of 08 kicked my ass in singles and he is a 4.0 so I figured that makes me a 3.5. There is a tournament next month at brookhaven I will enter the men's 4.0 and if my female partner will agree I will enter the mix 4.0 as well.
"I asked for -y- to identify himself,he didn't. I didn't know it was Alex. You are a strong talent Alex. If you didn't have the history of different ratings and such, I'd definately want you.In fact I'd need 4-5 just like you for deep post season play!!

lol I do not mind the bashing it's all in fun. Guys I just want to play tennis and have fun with some old and new friends you guys are telling me I need to move up no problem next month I am a 4.0 and hopefully they do not beat me up to much:)
If you play tournaments all year round you will see that the top players win most of the tournaments they enter to play especially the ones that count "Major Zones". By the way who were the winners in the Masters in 2008? Only the 8 top players in the state get invited to play.
ReplyDeleteWhat it sounds like is you are probably one of those players who don’t get past the first round too often. I would advise you, stop wasting your money. About the Draw size, it doesn’t matter and shouldn’t matter. Everyone knows that there are not as many 5.0's or 4.5’s out there as there are 4.0’s and 3.5’s so draw size for those levels will always be small. I doubt you haven't noticed that all the top players play most or all major zones. Not to worry who ever you are someday you will enjoy the feeling of being seeded but for now keep hating those who have earn that spot. Just know one thing, those that are on top right now are surely and most definitely enjoying being there. I bet it's a real good feeling. PEACE.
""Y", nice to know your "clark kent" name. If you are in need of a 4.0 team, look me up. We have a little room left."
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for the offer I guess I do need to find a team now
Sounds like you are a seeded player and think it actually means something. HaHa
ReplyDeleteDamn right... LOL.
ReplyDeleteWTF is Marc Klamecki doing in the 3.5 doubles draw?
ReplyDeleteKlamecki playing 3.5 .... what a puss.
ReplyDeleteWho the heck is this Arcaria guy and why are people thinking he may win? His record at 3.5 is average at best.
ReplyDeleteArcaria is good, real good. He is one of the best 3.5 's and should be a 4.0.
ReplyDeleteStop talking about yourself Arcaria. Heck, you probably posted the question so you could answer it yourself.
ReplyDeleteArcaria or "Little Muffin" is a pretty solid 3.5 playa.
ReplyDeleteThanks Snoop.
ReplyDeleteBin 10 and Chadwick will easily take the 4.0 doubles. Bin blankets the court with his puma like speed and reflexes. Chad uses that forehand like Thor's hammer smiting his opponents into submission. Trust me this one is a lock.
ReplyDeleteNo pressure Chad and Bin.
I like Bennett/Ho in the 4.0 doubles.
ReplyDeleteNot really into Bennett but I am always into a good Ho
ReplyDeletedude. that was funny. Thanks someone from Team Somebutt. Bin and Chad will surely lose now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your encouraging words Keith.
ReplyDeleteBin
at 4.0 I pick Kemp and Kemp to win it all, over #1 seeds Brouer and Fraser. Teams from Camp Somabut again showing their domination. Enjoy guys, everyone hit em good and have fun!
ReplyDeletei agree with kemp and kemp too. they are too solid
ReplyDeleteicepick and Hai in an upset..
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see Kirby back! I still want to get our match in! We had three match points and lost vs Peter and Trey! Hang the loss on me, they played great!
ReplyDeleteSisk
I see the results are posted.
ReplyDelete3.0 -- Nobody played and I dout anybody cared.
3.5 -- None of the seeds played. Arcaria and Bennett were suppose to be sandbaggers and they lost first round to Mitterer and Strohl. Shahab and Anderson did win. With no seeds playing, there is nobody of interest.
4.0 -- I guess Demetsenaere and Arcaria are not the sandbaggers as previously mentioned. They got pummeled 0&3 by #3 seed Harrigan and Wayles. #4 seed, Carlquist & Nguyen won as expected. #1 seed Brouer & Fraser won as expected. #2 seed, Balan & Weatherbry lost to Roberts and Wiley, I have no idea who Pat Roberts is and only know Wiley because he posts here but have never seen or met him.
4.5 -- No seeds played but the unseeded favorites of Slezak & Kiron beat Luwig and Jenkins 4 & 2. I am surprised they got 6 games. I will take them over Nguyen & Pickett tomorrow. I really do nto understand tournament seeding. The only other match had Wegman and Wells beating very good 4.0ers 2 & 3.
Open - Nobody played
Interesting match between Kemps and Carlquist/Nguyen. I like the Kemps in that match
ReplyDeletewhy are brouer and fraser playing togehter for??
ReplyDeleteThey might be friends.
ReplyDeleteShabah played with a very weak 3.5 partner at Brookhaven, & still took out a good 3.5 team. If he gained a 100 lbs, his previous fighting weight before must have been 80-90 lbs. Maybe he was counting the gain of a 100 lb patner.
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention Forrest and Takashi winning at 4.5 Those guys are good at singles so it will be interesting to see how they do in doubles.
ReplyDeletewhats the word today???
ReplyDeleteThe day in 3.5:
ReplyDeleteTop Half-
5.o Shahab was beat by 2 of Sisks mystery self-raters,
Look out for them in Garland in the Spring
Bottom Half -
Crusty Kotlarek and Sandbagger Klamecki have not dropped a set,
Look for Sisk's Boys vs Oak Creek K&K in the final
Wiley is a good 3.5 and Roberts is an average 3.5
ReplyDeleteShahab/Anderson seems to have been beaten by a very experience super senior team of Newman/Alexander. My guess is they didn't hit to Shahab much in that match.
ReplyDeleteShahab and partner were beaten by seeded players. n I don't think those guys are mystery self-rated players. Mystery self rates do not get seeds. Sisk gets criticism even when he has no reason to get any. Wait until Sisk deserves criticism before you give him any.
ReplyDeleteClark - Keener are the self-raters,
ReplyDeleteGet off of Sisk's nutsack,
He can stick up for himself!
No one said they beat Shabab, just that they would be in the final
Actually, if you look at the 8:10 anon, it says that Shahab was beaten by Sisk's mystery self rates. Get over your self.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your insight, you are right, it did not say Shabab.
who won the tourneys?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to mitterer/strohl and the rest of the winners.
ReplyDeleteArcaria
Who won 4.5 finals?
ReplyDeleteKiron and Slezak won the 2nd set and they were cruising in the 3rd set when I had to leave. My bet is on them.
ReplyDeleteMichael Mitterer & Glenn Strohl - Congratulations on winning the 3.5 men’s doubles final!
ReplyDeleteResults have been posted. Carlquist and Nguyen won 4.0. Impressive!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Carlquist and Nguyen! That's awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, the results are posted. Wow, within 4.5, it looks like Wegman and Wells came back in the 3rd set to win. How bad were they losing in the 3rd set?
ReplyDeleteI heard Slezak threw his trophy in the trash after he choked away the 4.5 dubs final. Classy guy!!
ReplyDeleteLet's not get ahead of ourselves. When has Slezak ever been a classy guy?
ReplyDeleteKiron and Slezak were my pick to win the tournament though.
I've never heard of Wegmen and Wells.
Colby and Jeff were a doubles team on my 4.5 team a couple of seasons ago. Colby joined T Bar and Jeff stayed with me. They are on a roll.
ReplyDeleteCoredawg, Since they don't play on the same team and they win one tournament, does it really mean they are "on a roll"?
ReplyDeleteBecause they have won two tournaments in a row, beating a Branch team along the way both times, yes.
ReplyDeleteWho won 3.5?
ReplyDeleteFrom comments above from Arcaria & John Kraemer. Mitterer & Strohl won 3.5 Men's Doubles.
ReplyDeletelooks like Team Somebutt did ok this weekend. is anyone going to stop them in the spring with all these solid dubs players?
ReplyDeleteMan I almost died this weekend I was so tired but I had a lot of fun and can not wait for next months tournament. It was nice meeting everyone face to face hope to see you agian.
ReplyDelete"Shabah played with a very weak 3.5 partner at Brookhaven, & still took out a good 3.5 team. If he gained a 100 lbs, his previous fighting weight before must have been 80-90 lbs. Maybe he was counting the gain of a 100 lb patner."
ReplyDeletehaha thanks for that comment I wish I was 180-190lbs but I am working on that.
Alex, thanks for helping me with my old eyesight, GOT IT! Ha!! Have a great week Alex.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners and participants of both events!!
Sisk
Nice job to all the winners, it was a fun tournament. Alex did a good job of carrying me as far as he could!
ReplyDeleteAnderson
That was one heck of a 4.5 finals. Slugfest!
ReplyDeleteYou know Anderson got "carried" in the tri-level too. How many times can you get "carried" before maybe you really might have some half decent game?
ReplyDeleteHe just wins.
I just feel bad for my "little muffin". He and bennett got their asses handed to them quickly and effectively. Perhaps a little less yeast next time so as to not get a little overinflated early on!
ReplyDeleteAnderson plays with good partners but still only wins about half the time at 3.5. Are you really saying you think he is a top 3.5 player?
ReplyDeleteRelax, this is 3.5 tennis! Anderson is a nice guy and on any given day can hang with the best of them in doubles. Isn't that what 3.5 tennis is all about.....
ReplyDeletemust have been a poor draw at brookhaven for carlquist/nguyen to win the whole thing
ReplyDeleteShahab did not get beat, his partner got beat & Shahab was on the court watching. but what do you expect from the opponents when a 4.5 plays on a 3.5 court
ReplyDeleteIs Kiron really a 4.5 player? He should get bumped to 5.0.
ReplyDeleteIf I am not mistaken, Paul is a 4.5 because he struggles(legitimately) with a bad back.
ReplyDeleteI have seen him at 5.0 or weak 4.5.
Coredawg, what happened to you in Abilene?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? I had a very tough semifinal match which I came out of the losing end of. I made the semifinals in singles and doubles so it was a good tournament for me in terms of points. I could have done without the bad call I received at 4-4 deuce in the third set but I was up 4-2, 40-0 so it should have never gotten to that point.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Bin and Chad ! Way to go, sorry I picked you as a close second to the Kemps. Next time I will believe!!!
ReplyDeleteTo the anonymous that said it must have been a poor draw - 3 of the 4 top Somabut partnerships were there - I don't call that weak.
Big John, thanks for the welcome back sir!
Kiron is one of the strongest 4.5's, and maybe a medium 5.0. And as Branch may remember, I saw his team practicing and had asked if he was in a senior division. ha! So as these ole seniors age, the back, knees, shoulders all go. On a bad health day, they might even lose to a very strong 4.0, and when clicking on all cylinders, could win at 5.0. That's why we play the matches.
Kirby, bring your strongest 4.0 teams and let's watch them get destroyed by any branch team. Let's make this clear, there is a huge difference between top 4.0 and any guy on Branch's team.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if Branch could beat Somabut team.
ReplyDeleteOne of Somabut's guys beat Kiron in the combo last year. I know it was 8.5 vs 8.5 but still. However, Branch's team would destroy Somabut's team 5-0 with no competitive matches.
ReplyDeleteThere is a huge difference between top 4.0 and top 4.5. Just look at the brookhaven doubles finals this past weekend. Those 4.0's had a tough time hitting a backhand and not double faulting every other point. Whereas, the 4.5's were crushing the ball.
ReplyDeleteIf someone needs the blog to figure that out, then it is apparent why this blog is as worthless as it was.
ReplyDeleteThe jump from 4.0 to 4.5 is not as big in singles, but it is a major leap in doubles. 4.5 doubles is very aggressive and unless you are a strong net player you probably won't survive.
"Nice job to all the winners, it was a fun tournament. Alex did a good job of carrying me as far as he could!
ReplyDeleteAnderson"
Thanks for playing with me Kim!!!
Anon and all,
ReplyDeleteIf you let me pick the 8 strong 4.0 players from the whole metroplex, and let me pick the 8 off of Branch's team, I say branch wins 3-2. Within the last couple of years I've lost to 3.5's, and I've beat 4.5's. We all have our day. I will agree, that in order to consistently win the Dallas Cities the majority of your players need to be a level up - so yes, many of Branches players are really 5.0's, and many of Somabut's players are 4.5's, and so forth.
Name your 8 Kirby. Once you name your 8, I will tell you who they would be playing and then you find me your teams 2 victories.
ReplyDeleteummm... i dont know much about the Branch team, but I have seen the top 4.5s at Tri Level and Brookhaven. The top 4.0s are no match if Branch's team is up there in regards to talent
ReplyDeleteI'm sure if you handpicked the lineup for both sides you could manufacture two wins for the 4.0s. Putting some of Branch's doubles specialists in singles and vice versa. But that wasn't the original argument.
ReplyDeleteI agree Branch's team would win 5-0. I do think a couple of the matches would be competitive. The jump from 4.0 to 4.5 isn't as big as most people think it is.
ReplyDeletemy opinion on 4.0 vs 4.5.
ReplyDeleteMy sense is it is a pretty big jump. Most people I speak with after playing is the pace of the balls hit is a big difference. The shots are relatively the same, but the speed at which they are hit as well as strong weapon(serve,forehand,etc...)Also the weakness we all ahve is less defined at the 4.5 level. Mnay 4.5 like myself played some higher level tennis at some point, but either age(in my case) of other ailments have caught up to us.
The Brookhaven event was fun. I thought Wells/Wegman played well. We had leads in all sets and was a bit disapointed we could no tclose it out. This spring is going to be a tough one many teams are really looking solid. Plus with a few key losses for some it should be wide open. I think 4.5 Dallas is very competitive. Looking forward to seeing you all out there this year.
paul kiron
What's with all these people giving an actual opinion AND signing their names?
ReplyDeleteI would pay to see that. top 8 4.0s v Branch hand picked 8.
ReplyDeleteSet it up. I would at Brookhaven. I would love to watch that match.
Kemp, Kemp, Carlquist... others out there.
Bouer, Keith
ReplyDeletePaul is humble as usual, very nice guy, even if he hangs with some questionable characters.
ReplyDeleteBouer and Keith couldn't get more than 3 games off of the worst branch doubles team.
ReplyDeleteSome Branch doubles teams had some questionable losses this season so I think a competitive match could be made between two Branch players and Keith and Steven easily.
ReplyDeleteQuestionable losses or purposeful losses?
ReplyDeleteanon 10:50am,
ReplyDeleteI'll take that bet.
I think we already played this game before. Didn't Keith and Bouer only get two games or something against Gene and Mitch. Gene is on Branch and Mitch isn't even close to being good enough to being on Branch.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Gene is not one of Branch's worst double's players.
ReplyDeleteKeith - please remember we have seen your finals score from Abilene and those were 4.0 guys.
ReplyDeleteBouer nor Keith could get the job done in the 4.0 tourneys this past weekend! How can you win 3 games against a mid-level 4.5 much less a solid Branch team? You can't!
ReplyDeleteyou guys are mean.
ReplyDeletewho all is on this branch team? sand bagging 5.0s?
ReplyDeletedarn, and Keith, you were one of my 8, but 5-0 ? well, never mind, I don't know what I was smoking when I said the 4.0's would lose 2 to 3 ? I'm convinced Branch's team, and most of the Tri-Level 4.5's are all very solid 5.0 players now. I now say the best 4.0's would win 2 sets, not matches. ha! And I'm not real sure about that. But regular season league 4.0 to regular season league 4.5 is not a real big jump, as I think Keith was pointing out.
ReplyDeleteKirbster
I agree with that. High 4.0s will compete with medium 4.5s. When you're comparing top players from one level to top players from another however, there's a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteThere is a huge jump from middle 4.5 to top 4.5. The same goes for every level.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that pretty much everyone on Branchs 4.5 team is more toward the top of 4.5 scale if not 5.0.
ReplyDeletethat is a problem?
ReplyDeleteLooks like Branch's players do get on the blog - though usually anonymously (except in the case of Paul Kiron recently). Yeah, it's okay for the WHOLE team to be out of level, when it's your team. ha! but hey, I understand. And then when your team still doesn't win sectionals for how many years? Same for Somabut's crew - haven't been to nationals since 2003.
ReplyDeleteHEY, the first ball has NOT been struck. We can still form Dallas super teams at every level...oh, that was a different thread.
KIRBY FOR PRESIDENT! So true my man!
ReplyDeleteSisk
LOL!!! You GO KIRBY! How about THAT for some SMACK TALK! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWow go get him Kirby! Way to give Bob crap after you got benched because you are not very good for a 4.0. Wow at least you and your group of new clowns can take your pathetic game to 4.5 and waste their time also. Wow I'm sure Feldman, Noel, Branch, and all of the other true 4.5 teams are looking forward to a boring weekend of playing tennis against Bazan's Bozos. Stick to your level and be very average there.
ReplyDeleteWhatever dude! My comments really were not meant to be smack. But it looks like I touched a nerve. My main point is that even if any team gets all players that some how qualify, and are really at the NEXT level - in Texas, it is still really really difficult to make it to nationals. That's all. And I realize that egos - including yours - will get deflated when trying to form a super team. So it's probably not feesible.
ReplyDeleteBut to tell me I'm not even a 4.0 player, wow! I can't remember getting beat 2 and 2 at the 4.0 level, so I'm fairly certain that I am IN level. But if not, sorry to waste all you real 4.0's time playing with me...
And, if you would check my record, somehow all these real 4.5 players seem to let me win a set most of the time. I'm sure it has everything to do with tanking, and keeping the ntrp rating down. If any 4.5's want to just give me the match too, to help your ratings, just call me first, then we won't have to waste each others time, and I will have the Captain put 6-0, 6-0, that should help your rating. You can just say you were sick that day but played anyway.
A lot of posting from a guy with a 50 mph serve. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's funny!
ReplyDeleteKirby's serve might not be like Roddicks but it sure is effective in doubles. Bin
ReplyDeleteSay what you want about his serve (cause its TRUE), but you can drill a ball at him as hard as you can when he follows in his serve, and he picks up the m ' effer. The guy has really good hands.
ReplyDeleteI will also add you can serve as hard as you want to Kirby and he can return it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the luv Bro's!
