Do or Die Time, Final matches and it's down to the wire.
It's the last week for Both 4.5 and 3.5
The 4.5 Division has been turned upside down with the DQ of bruno braga Giving Brookhaven 2 losses out of the blue. It's now all up for grabs, winner take all, down to matches and sets for Greenhill/High Point/Brookhaven/T bar. Who will capitalize on this? Greenhill may go from the out side looking in to 1st place. Should be interesting to see.
In 3.5 Fretz has it locked up, I not sure there is enough teams here for a play off, so they may be going straight to sectionals?
In 4.0 there are two weeks left, Wiley and CC have all but locked up 1st & 2nd.
Rockwall and Greenhill will fight it out this week for the last play-off of spot.
It's win or go home, kids.
On paper Rockwall probably has the better team, but we don't play these matches on paper.
Neither team has been able to get there best players on the court at the same time.
So this will come down to who can cobble the best lines together?
Another 3-2 win??
Can Greenhill Split the singles lines and win 2 out of 3 doubles?
I guess we will find out Saturday,
FYI...Everyone else, MAKE UP YOUR DAMN RAIN OUT MATCHES AND ENTER YOUR DAMN SCORES.

Let break this down line by line
ReplyDeleteLine #1 singles
RW: Kargel vs GH:Schwartz
winner - RW
Line #2 singles
RW:Teterud/Lee/Voss/??? vs GH:Do
winner -GH
Line #1 Doubles
RW:Voss/Newman vs GH:Ea/Huynh
winner -RW
Line #2 Doubles
RW:Kingsley/White vs GH: Burton/Swanson
winner-RW
Line #3 Doubles
RW:Bearden/Hudson vs GH Hess/Ohl
winner -GH
Rockwall wins 3-2
Don't agree with your breakdown. Kargel vs. Schwartz would be a good match and could go either way. I'll agree with Do beating RW if that's how it works out. I'll give you RW at line 1 dubs. But Kingsley will lose to Burton, no question. And it all depends on which Kingsley shows up anyways. And Ohl is a weak link and would lose to Bearden. Better rework the lines.
ReplyDeleteDo lost decisively to CC McHugh, what makes you think he can beat any of these guys?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rockwall sweeps.
DeleteDo is a tanker. He will rise up when needed.
DeleteI guess they didn't need him against CC or HP.
Deletenot so fast with your 4.5+ BH prediction.. One DQ changes everything..
ReplyDeleteInteresting, with the Bruno Braga DQ* that gives them 1 too many 5.0 players.
ReplyDeleteIf they would have been carrying only one 5.0 player they would not have been effected by the DQ,
Maybe, Don't 5.0 players have to play line 1?
DeleteSelf Rate? any one know anything about this guy? No history on Tennislink
DeleteHe just beat up on some good people. Went from first to out of playoffs. OUCH
ReplyDeleteBad captaining. He should have known there was a serious danger there. He beat Brent, Joey and Kelly bad... That is about as an easy case for DQ from 4.5 as I've seen.
ReplyDeleteOn the make up rain out matches... do you know how bad the weather was Saturday? How could you expect Newman/Alzuro to play in those conditions?
ReplyDeleteWord on the street is that they have 4 matches in the can, and won the match.
Deletestupid street
DeleteI think I live on that street.
ReplyDeleteI know my boss does.
DeleteWhere are the Brookhaven people? Why no complaining or yelling about how unfair this is and how the DTA sucks. Has the blog lost some of its anger or did Brookhaven just get caught. I kind of like the new and nicer blog.
ReplyDeleteThe DTA does not make these decisions. USTA Texas in Austin handles all ratings matters. This could be seen as imminent weeks ago when Braga beat a 5.0 player 3&0. He probably was flagged by the computer then and has been on Todd Reed's watch list ever since.......
DeleteThat was kinda a joke. I know the DTA has nothing to do with dq's, but usually everyone would blame the DTA. Wow, the blog is informational. I'm not use to this yet. I like it. What happened to everyone yelling about Mike K and the cheating 3.5's that are really 4.5's. I may have to start reading this again. Who ever took it over and made the changes,
DeleteGOOD JOB
It appears to be almost all 4.0 all the time. It is nice to get a little 4.5 pub. The blog is more civil. I guess nobody told the 3.5s it is back and please don't.
DeleteEveryone quit yelling because its a lost cause and if the dta and usta don't care and will not do anything about it, there's no point. As long as you have the crappy system along with moral-less people encouraging cheating such as Bender, Sisk, Pickett, Somabut, Wiley, Clark, etc etc etc and wanna be lower level heros such as Kelly, people who actually practice to get better and are at the right level will never have a chance to advance. Such is the life of the gutless wondersd and their nutless captains.
DeleteNow thats more like it. The only thing people don't understand is that the so called cheating captains, don't win it all each year. They are just trying to keep up with all the other captains around the nation.
DeleteConcur, it's a nationwide problem. So if others are cheating, the right thing to do is start cheating right along with them. Pathetic.
DeleteExactly how are all these captains cheating? Is it because they beat you they must be cheating?
DeleteAre you serious? Just pick a captain and one of their players. Lets do an easy one, Mike Kelly. Just look at his record over the last few years and tell us if you see a pattern. Then look up who his captain or captains have been. So if I'm a true 4.5 and I play him during the playoffs no shit I'm going to get beat, genius. Any questions?
DeleteKelly is the least of your problems, he has not tried to win a match in 3 years or played on a winning team...as a matter of fact he is 5 and 26....he is old and getting slower as he is putting on pounds.....find a new whipping boy like.... Uh....Houstons Odibua
DeleteAre you people ignorant?.... Kelly no good and now overweight?.... My money on him in ANY big match......problem is he will outsmart any opposing player mentally and physically.... Looks like he can't play but promise you if he is fully engaged he will win
DeleteMike Jelly will not beat T Bar whether it's Bartzen, Johan, JD or Keith W
DeleteKelly beat Johan. I think it was 2-1. Score not published yet. Doesn't matter, looks like the Usta is pro Brookhaven or hookhaven as the are starting to be known by again.
DeleteBeats Johan 2-1?.... Then mysteriously double faults 13 times to Braga two days later????.........he saw the storm brewing. I was there and he played awful..... Hmmmm
DeleteDoes Pete Rose belong in the hall?..... Ooooops, has Greenhill played T Bar yet?... No scores posted.... That is a HUGE match!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreenhill has no one to beat TBar trifecta singles players of Bartzen, Johan or JD..... TBAR DOUBLES STRONG TOO
ReplyDeleteGreenhill up 2-1 with 2 doubles matches left to play. Kelly beat Johan. Finishing tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteGreenhill won first set of one of the doubles match played tonight. Maybe TBAR DOUBLES NOT TO STRONG.
DeleteGreenhill up 3-1 over Tbar. Maybe Tbar can switch their 5.0's for the brookhaven match.
DeleteLooks like Wiley is pulling away. A big win vs. Huffines and they secure 1st regardless of their match against CC.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. Newman will use their CC match to warmup for Wiley.
Deletewouldn't the first tiebreak be head to head? if so, seems Wiley would need to win the match against CC.
DeleteUSTA tiebreaker is never head to head
DeleteW-L in matches
W-L in lines
sets lost
games lost
First tie break is not head to head its wins.
Delete4.0 Predictions
ReplyDeleteGH/Peterson v RW 4-1 RW
CC/McHugh v HP/Jameson 5-0 CC
GH/Azuro v SP 3-2 SP
HP/Wiley v Huffhines 4-1 HP
CC/Hodge v SB 3-2 SB
I think most think Newman and Wiley actually have the best teams in the league. I think Newman has a better top 8 and will beat Wiley.
ReplyDeleteWiley's team is built better for sectionals. He can roll enough quality lines to keep those singles players from getting tired. Kargel & Lee are very solid and capable of sweeping Wiley but all of those matches may make Sunday tough.
Wiley has Quach, Gerber, Hutchison, Glasgow and Sharp without much drop off. His singles players will be much fresher when you have to 5 or 6 matches in a weekend.
The big question is whether a Wiley will get a wildcard.
More controversy in 4.5+. Very interesting, but don't agree with what is going on. BH's DQ'd singles ringer player back eligible????? They swtiched the DQ on the weaker 5.0 player (out of the now 3 5.0 players) that had nothing to do with the reason off the DQ. If thats the case, they should let all of the other teams introduce a 3rd 5.0 player to potentially make their rosters better - and dumping the worst 5.0 player out of the three. I'm sure USTA Austin's phone will be ringing a few times this week... Just cuz of that I hope, somehow, tbar whips them...
ReplyDeleteWow. Explain that one Mr Rossouw. How do you get un Dq'd. This is another example of how bad the Usta is. We had a 3.0 player at my club go 0-7 at 3.0 over 2 years and he then got bumped to 4.0. I thought that was the dumbest thing I had ever seen. I guess it's just par for the course. If the Usta runs all their programs like this, it's no wonder there are no more good American professionals on tour. The junior system has been taken to court over all their new stupid changes. How many workers at the DTA are members of Brookhaven. Food for thought.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I don't know the answers - I heard Flumerfelt is hurt so they were permitted to replace him with Braga as their 2nd 5.0. That seems fair I think? Spurs the question though, will 2 of Braga's DQ results be revered back to wins since they were on line 1? Or was the DQ for illegal self-rate? I do not know how the usta ratings dude in Austin is managing this and since its the first time these + leagues have been in existence I am sure they are figuring it out on the fly themselves. Let's give them a little slack to figure it out. On your other comment: I am not aware of more than 2 Bhaven members on the DTA this year and Denise Lytle and Brandon Myers are very honest and straight up people. The president this year is TBar (prior 2 were Canyon Creek). Jane Gilpin's replacement I believe is a DCC member. No consipracy theories in my book.....
DeleteHow do you switch a dq'd 3-0 player to a dw'd 1-2 player. How is that possible?
ReplyDeleteBREAKING NEWS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have an unnamed doctor friend who said An unnamed player was in his office today and he has a small tear in a wrist tendon. That unnamed player either needs surgery or plays w pain.... Oh so sorry... The player in question had 13 double faults in a match vs a player that got dq'd. Playing hurt and tanking not a good recipe... THE KARMA GODS HAVE STRUCK!... SWEET JUSTICE!
Any word on Peterson v Newman?
ReplyDeleteIt appears Newman didn't play his match again. Amazing that he gets to wait until he gets his best players available.
Deleteit is fascinating they appear to have the luxury to schedule when convenient and sit back and let everything else play out. Must be nice.
DeleteNo shit on this... Do they ever play matches.
DeleteWell, it does take awhile to get to Rockwall. Maybe their internet connection takes awhile, too. Has the internet even made it that far out of the city?
DeleteGoing into the last week matches of the season the only question that remains to be answered is: Can any team loose more than 419 games and still have a match win? Remains to be seen.
Well, don't know about all that but the best team to be sitting home in late February is Jerry Springer Park. They are missing one good player at the top of their roster or they would be at the big dance. #2 has to be Greenhill who is missing 3 or 4 good players (maybe 2 decent singles and 1 or 2 doubles players). Anytime you get beat by another "B" team 3-2, 4-1 or even 5-0 then you should start looking for quality players who are commited. Just saying.
DeleteJust be like Rockwall. Keep rescheduling lines until you get your best players that week.
DeleteRockwell is playing 3 lines early against SP to get their best players in who are playing in a tournament this weekend.
DeleteIs there an official date when they have to play their matches by?
ReplyDeleteAren't the play-offs om the 23rd?
You would hope this Saturday would be the cutoff but really nothing is decided regardless of the GH/Rockwall outcome, as Rockwall still has to beat Springpark (which isn't a given if Bret can get his guys out) and GH only has to finsish strong against CC Hodge.
DeleteDon't know what to think about these Rockwall guys.
ReplyDeleteEarly in the season, their top players were being accused of tanking. Now, there are suggestions that their captain is employing gamesmanship to get those same players in a position to be able to play important late season matches.
Are we to believe they were tanking early, but have found religion and are going to try from here on out?
Are the Rockwall players just a bunch of misunderstood and naive good old boys that occasionally play home matches at a remote outpost or are they jerks deserving of contempt? Probably somewhere in the middle.
Also, nothing requires the opposing captains to agree to play certain matches early. My gut feeling is Wiley and McHugh would prefer Rockwall not make the playoffs. Neither of those captains can be feeling confident after very lackluster performances by their teams last weekend against the doormats of the league.
Sure enough, it is no secret that Rockwall is the best team. We will show that in 2 weeks.
DeleteSo, being a Rockwall player my choice is between being somewhere in the middle of 'misunderstood and naive' and a 'jerk deserving of contempt'? Awesome. I pick door #3. That's the kiss my sweet ass option.
DeleteIt just might be possible that between rain every damn weekend and/or OTHER team captains having difficulty getting THEIR lineups all out to play that might have something to do with scores being slowly reported. But since this blog seems obsessed with Rockwall/Newman (a 3rd place team in a who really cares old guy league) the conspiracy revolves around it being all Rockwall's fault. Takes two teams to play a**holes. Rather than what this blog prattles on about, Rockwall has tried to accomodate the other teams. Try asking the two GH teams or the CC/Hodge team why the matches have not been played if you really must know.
Keep calm and carry on now...and remember my door #3 option is available just for YOU.
Rockwall Player getting a little defensive. You guys will need to be loaded against Springpark this weekend. Good luck!
DeleteFollowing is one man's opinion of the top ten singles players who have played in the 4.0 40+ league thus far; in no particular order:
ReplyDelete1./2. - Schwartz and Klamecki (Good Greenhill team)
3. - Glasgow (Good High Point team)
4. - McHugh (Good CC team)
5. - Lee (Rockwall)
6. - Boccara (Mediocre Greenhill team)
7. - Walters (Springpark)
8. -Buster (Stonebriar)
9. - Reinhart (Bad CC team)
10. - Azevedo (Huffhines)
Apologies to anyone who feels slighted by my list. From my perspective, of those players, I would least want to play Jim Walters. While he is closer to 80 years old than 40, on any give day he is going to play smarter and steadier than the rest of the group.
Now you're really going to piss of the Rockwall guy by not including Kargel. Gerber might feel slighted as well.
DeleteYou have to know what you are in for when playing Walters or Buster(and maybe even Reinhart). If you are not committed to playing their way, you will lose...plain and simple.
DeleteKargel can't beat Voss on his own team, who also wasn't included.
DeleteActually, if you commit to play like Walters, Buster or even Reinhart play, you are going to lose unless you are 4.5 or better. They are too good at what they do. To beat them, you have to overpower and/or overwhelm them at net, plain and simple.
DeleteWell since you are putting a list of names together and want us to know all about your perspective, the least you could do is post your name don't you think? But I'm sure putting your name down would only cause ridicule and you would be exposed as you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
DeleteTop two "studs" have a combined record of 5-4 in 40+ league. Ratings must be based on something else............. hmmm, I wonder what.. any guesses?
ReplyDeleteWho are the top two studs? The poster said the list was in no particular order.
DeleteHey chief - Brush the chip off your shoulder and consider taking up yoga or maybe meditation as therapy for your anger issue. The list is of course unscientific, but is not insulting, and maybe that is what your beef is. Or is it because your favorite player, yourself, isn't on it.
ReplyDeleteMy list would be
ReplyDeleteKargel
Lee
Voss
McHugh
Boccara
Schwartz
Azvedo
Arenas
Huynh
Glasgow
When it counts in the playoffs I would go with
ReplyDeleteKargel
Voss
Lee
Gerber
McHugh
Glasgow
Besides McHugh, that's probably who it will come down to in these playoffs as well.
Thanks for the input Rockwall Boy....since you're picking your 3 boys as the top 3 seeds.....let's see if they really deserve their 4.5 ratings when push comes to shove.
DeleteProbably not even a Rockwall guy. Just a wanna be.
DeleteShould Rockwall and wannabe be used in the same sentence. That is like wanting to be gang raped in prison.
DeleteHow about the top doubles guys? If you had your pick who would you take on your team?
ReplyDeleteNewman/Voss
DeleteKingsley/Zeller
Bearden/Hudson
Dawson/Huff
Parton/Schmidt
Minter/Rajani
Arcaria/Ho
This is why Rockwall wins. RW singles are the best and their three doubles lines are better than any of the others.
I love it that the GH-Peterson team is off most everyone's radar (except for Klamecki) for these various rankings.
DeleteAt least women's playoffs are this weekend? Who is the favorite?
ReplyDeleteHigh Point Wiley
ReplyDeleteWiley is beating up on women now? He always struck me as the type.
Deletei think a womens 3.0/3.5 blog would be great entertainment..though some might say we already have one here.
ReplyDeletehttp://meemsy.com/v/6908
ReplyDeleteI secretly taped one of Rockwalls practices. Newman really has his guys in shape. They can go ahead and book that ticket to sectionals.
Bif
With that hardcore practice, it is all over but the crying. And after watching that, the crying may last a long time.
DeleteMatch of the Week... Should be 1st place Wiley vs 2nd place McHugh... Since it has no consequences. Wiley is in first and McHugh will be playing in the playoffs in the 2 v 3 match, Newman vs Femrite is MOW. If Femrite is still trying and Newman can get his players to play on the scheduled day, it could be interesting. Prediction Newman wins 5-0. No other match matters.
ReplyDeleteWord on the street is that 3 matches have already been played in that match and that Femrite is up 2-1
DeleteKingsley already listed in doubles for the Lakes Tennis Academy Adult 200 Pt Levels (same weekend as 40+ playoffs) so apparently not a lot of confidence from RW that RW makes it through.
DeleteIs this the same street that said Newman was up 4-0 on Alzuro and then won 3-2? Not sure I believe all the street talk.
DeleteI expect to see several creative lines and attempts at tanking in the CC/HP match this weekend. Neither has anything to play for.
DeleteYeah, I see Wiley himself losing. I guess he will be having a down week.
DeleteIf you're right, and Femrite does win the match over Rockwall, highly likely that Peterson takes the CC-Hodge match 5-0, and ends up in playoffs as originally projected.
DeleteIt is possible that Peterson could actually beat Newman. All they must do is play the match.
DeleteNo, Rockwall has already won 3 lines against Peterson.
DeleteAnd apparently if RW loses to SP then RW/GH Peterson will have to finish.
DeleteThis is funny. So being the SP captain, I will confirm we are up 2-1. We won lines 2 and 3 dubs, and lost a semi-close line 1 (second set went to a tiebreak, in which we had 4 set points - not dwelling on it, since we are not in contention, although we should be - which segues nicely to my next sentence). I have a pretty banged up roster, and a few divas that are rarely available. Our singles lines could be an issue this Sat. when we play them. I know Tim has a few good singles guys ready four us. We will do the best we can with who we have available.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime............all of Dallas 4.0 Old Bastard League standings hang in the balance. Or something like that.
Well said Brett.....hey it's winter, what else do we have to get excited about....I'm just glad there is still plenty of beer drinking going on in this old bastard league.
DeleteIndeed. A few beers after a match with your tennis buddies is why I play, mostly. My team can often be seen drinking before and during matches (only on changeovers, mind you) too.
DeleteAfter all is said and done it appears to be Newman vs Wiley. Give it up to Klamecki, he called it before the season started.
ReplyDeleteYou do not need to be a rocket scientist to have figured that one out. Just look at each of the two rosters. Each are loaded with players that have been to sectionals multiple times.
DeleteAnd yet he will probably still be wrong.
DeleteI doubt he will be wrong. Who knows? A lot of Newman's players will be in Houston for tri-level but if 3 doubles lines have been played, I don't think any of his singles guys will be down there so he should be just fine.
DeleteOut of curiousity, how did the Tony Le Tri Level team that had the worst record, get the wildcard spot at sectionals this weekend?
DeleteNobody else wanted it.
DeleteWord on the street is that Springpark won both singles lines today.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I heard so SP beat Rockwall 4-1; could that be possible?????
Deletelooks official...
ReplyDeleteso what is the current tally in the Rockwall/Peterson Match? Seems Peterson needs 2 lines to clinch the 3rd spot.
ReplyDeleteIf Rockwall wins 4-1, they both finish 29-16 and it will come down to sets lost. Rockwall has a small edge going in, but if any wins are in three sets, it could get very interesting...
ReplyDeleteTwo of Rockwall's wins were in three sets so this baby could be decided by Games Lost. How often does that happen??
DeleteAnyone know when Greenhill will play TBar in 4.5+
ReplyDeleteWaiting on the Kelly vs Mudsam match for all the marbles... Supposedly played today
DeletePlay-offs are set in 4.0, Wiley, CC, and Greenhill.
ReplyDeleteJust like predicted after a little drama.
Thanks for keeping in interesting Springpark and Rockwall
that should make for an interesting Saturday.
ReplyDeleteSo sad for Rockwall. So close...
ReplyDeleteNot quite decided by Games Lost but who would have thought one set would be the difference. Any predictions for Saturday; CC vs GH??
DeleteCC embarrasses GH and Wiley gets the real CC. Wiley won't sweep doubles again.
DeleteCreekers have no chance. Klamecki has been working this board to keep his team under the radar all year. Now they will come on out and put a beatdown on all-comers this weekend.
DeleteI definitely have to give Greenhill the comeback kid award.
DeleteI agree on the GH win over CC but no beatdowns will be seen in this 4.0 Socialism League.
DeleteThis is a capitalist league... You have to compete every week. Socialists are all equally bad from a lack of competition.
DeleteWho won the Tri-level in Kingwood?...Ft worth had very strong 4.5 and 4.0 lines.... Just need two of three...4.5 line beat Houston badly!... Ft Worth wins it all I bet!....Kelly not a doubles player, staying back on baseline will get him beat.... Lol
ReplyDeleteKelly sure is a streaky player. He loses to a nobody and the is an animal when he gets a.chance to go to nationals.
DeleteWhat nationals?.... There is no nationals for Tri level and if there was its only doubles. he sucks in dubs!... Especially against the younger teams of SAN Antonio , Houston and Ft worth!
ReplyDeleteTri- Level nationals is usually in March at the location of the BNP Paribas tournament
ReplyDeleteTo bad for Rockwall to hard to get everyone playing at the same time. Wylie did a great job of getting depth. Rockwall's talent was good but tough to play them week in week out.
ReplyDeleteI do have to give it up to Wiley. He put a very deep team together. He has no ringers but every team has to bring 5 tough lines every match because he will. This league is full of teams that can put out 3 lines so they can't have weeks when they aren't available. Wiley can still compete when players are missing.
DeleteInteresting post on the Houston blog about tri-level. I saw Tri-Level rehash here link and decided to see what they had to say. Not sure if it is true, maybe someone who was there can confirm or deny this.
ReplyDeleteWhat the Houston blog does not mention is the FT WORTH team beat Houston in their head to head match...Ft Worth 4.5 doubles beat Odibua and Sun. Sour grapes from Houston players. Who won it all? Tony Le had a darn good 4.5 team who looked unstoppable and on a roll. Houston just caught a bad break w a hot FW crew.
ReplyDeleteGood too hear that was BS and Tony didn't really do that.
DeleteDallas won the tri-level.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I didn't see anybody say the Houston post was BS.
The houston post is not BS. Except for the crap talk about how Tony looks. That was just anger. But the rest of it...accurate
ReplyDeletei am on Houston team and if we had been in finals like we should have been no way Dallas would have beaten us and we would be going to Nationals!
ReplyDeletesounds suspicious and not entirely out of character for some of the players involved.
ReplyDeleteThat said, win all of your matches and there is no reason for this conversation.
Would someone ask Tony Le to come here and defend himself? If what Houston says is true, Tony is a POS.
ReplyDeleteIf I am Houston I am more concerned about Kelly hitting balls w Benjamin Becker in an indoor court in Houston Friday eve than I am about Tony Le and his gang.... Either Kelly is no 4.5 or Benjamin no 7.0.... LOL
ReplyDeleteA little of both I think. Put it this way, they played two tiebreakers for fun and both were 10-7 Becker. Guess he had his 15 minutes of fame because he struggled keeping ball in play, unless he was tanking to get moved down to 6.0 LOL
DeleteI was there to witness it all.. It all smells like a cover up. Even the referee and the tournament desk said they dont believe the story that was told. Even other captains were coming up to the desk and acknowledging that Wild Dallas had taken lines off of Ft. Worth. Either its the biggest Catfish story of tennis or someone got caught cheating and had to scramble to get thier story straight.
ReplyDeleteSo congrats to Tony Le for 2nd place. Just because his team caught fire against Houston doesnt mean they were the best team in the flight.
A classy response by Freeman in the Houston blog.
ReplyDeleteNo one feel sorry for Houston though. They have been bending the rules for years and are the masters at manipulating the system. Before they criticize anyone else they need to look in the mirror especially the guy who wrote that long post in the Houston blog. Its called Karma!
Here was the original post by Tuan Tran about Tri-Level:
ReplyDeleteTuan Tran posted this on that facebook thing, but I don't know if everyone is a member there and plus I think the whole state of Texas should know about the scum in Dallas.
All Star Weekend brought all kinds of celebrities and superstar athletes to the space city the past few days But right up 59 north at Kingwood Country Club the weekend also brought a fair share of douchebags to our city as well. Tri level sectionals were held and for whatever reason the Dallas-Ft Worth area were allowed 3 teams in the competition. Jason Freeman and Mike Tran assembled an "all star" lineup if you will with Soong and The Big O, Odion Dibua at 4.5, Tuyen "All I Do Is" Nguyen, myself and circus connesseur Richard Patton at 4.0 and the greatest 3.5 ever Bad Ass Bobby Dornbos and newcomer John Lu. So going into the weekend we felt pretty good about our chances of making it to Indian Wells for nationals. The Houston team would beat Wild Dallas in the opening round 2-1. The highlight would be Patton making a cameo and administering a clinic on Wild Dallas before departing for his Fiji tour. Next up was Ft Worth who definitely came to play surprising the Houston team 2-1 with Bobby D and John Lu being the lone bright spot. So going into the final match Freeman's team still had a chance if they beat the undefeated Austin team there would be a three way tie. The pressure was on the Houston team and they delivered sweeping the undefeated Austin team. This would force Ft Worth to have to sweep Wild Dallas too. One line lost and Houston advances. Co captain Mike Tran who had been watching the Wild Dallas-Ft Worth match up notified his team that Wild Dallas had taken the 4.5 line. This was later confirmed by Rizarri, he spoke to Wild Dallas player Sam Huynh (if anyone was curious of what a vietnamese kid with down syndrome looked like Sam would be it) who also said he had won his line. But as they got to the tournament desk the Houston team soon found out that the scores reported were completely different. Apparently Wild Dallas and Ft Worth reported that Ft Worth swept Wild Dallas 3-0 and the scores were all blowouts, 6-1, 6-0 which would mean Ft Worth would advance. (tiebreaker came down to games lost)What happened next still perplexes me. Freeman and Mike Tran pleaded their case to USTA officials and for some strange reason the Dallas and Ft Worth players that were involved in the match were no where to be found. After what seemed to be about 1 hour their captain Tony Le (who by the way will never be confused for a model and get this he has 2 sisters who look exactly like him. You know the phrase, "He fell out the ugly tree and hit every branch coming down"? Well this applies to Tony's whole family. And you know how sometimes a person might be completely heinous physically but they have a fun or nice personality? Not the case here.) was finally able to produce the players for USTA officials to question. They all of course denied what Tran and Rizarri were saying and told the officials that they did lose 6-1, 6-1. A team that in a previous round beat Soong and Odion lost 6-1, 6-1 is real believable. USTA tried to get the players to tell the truth by telling them "If scores were reported incorrectly there will be consequences". Thank you Dallas-Ft Worth and USTA officials for wasting our fkn weekend. Thanks to Jason Freeman and Michael Tran for asking me to be part of the team. Thanks to Richard Patton and Tuyen Nguyen for carrying me. And thanks to Ronnie Kwan and Robert Rizarri for the support and making me feel like part of the team. Congrats to Bobby Bobby Dornbos and John Lu for going undefeated.
What an @sshole! Only Dallas players can rag on our own players.
ReplyDeleteDo not criticize people that were not involved.... there were players from Dallas on the other side of the bracket that had nothing to do w it.... I am from San Antonio and the Dallas team was first class.... Winning the whole thing and being gracious about it. They had the best team and best player in the tournament and won.... Not sure what happened w Houston and FTW but would not have mattered in the end, just FYI
ReplyDeleteHouston whining, yet they tied Wild Dallas 1-1 (they won the 3rd line by a default) who actually finished 4th at Dallas trilevel. They lost to FW straight up and they are bitching how they got screwed.
ReplyDeleteThe funniest part to me is when the USTA says "There will be consequences"............ Another good 1.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, please leave the Dallas team out of it, starting with Kelly. They are first class stand up guys.
I don't know him and just talked to him briefly. Definitely was on great behavior as well as his teammates. No doubt the guy has haters but he put on a clinic on Sunday morning. Anyway, I have no idea what happened w Houston and ft worth but picketts crew and that side of flight had no issues that I know of.
ReplyDeleteFW BEAT HOUSTON?... How did FW LOSE IN FINALS?
ReplyDeleteCall it what you want.... but since no one is defending Tony Le on his hometown website, we can assume his antics are in fact bush league and he doesnt have the respect of his own tennis community.
ReplyDeleteConcerning Tuans tweet .....the unbeatable big 0 and soong were 1 and 2 so not sure I would be bragging about them!... Would have been 0 and 3 but got lucky in a breaker. Got their arse handed to them by us Ft worth 6-0,6-3, just sayin
ReplyDeleteEnough Tony Le talk and how about some playoff talk.
ReplyDelete4.5
HP/Loose v TBar/Fikes - TBar 4-1 because too many players are playing for Ft Worth
TBar v GH/Sweeney - GH 4-1
4.0
GH/Peterson v CC/McHugh - GH 3-2. GH sweeps singles and gets at doubles line.
GH/Peterson v HP/Wiley - Going with the upset. GH 3-2 GH has too much in singles but least sure of the three levels is here. It will be 3-2 either way and probably down to a 3rd set breaker. Last time Wiley got the third set breaker and this time it goes to Peterson.
3.5
Don't really know but Fretz/Clark wins it all 4-1 or 5-0. I don't know a thing about any of the teams.
So you're implying GH plays Kamecki and AJ at singles.
Deletethey must be since it looks like McHugh handled Do last time out.
DeleteGH has 3 singles guys Hunyh, Klamecki, and AJ.
DeleteDo injured his back; up 5-2 VS McHugh. GH has multiple singles options but so does CC.......and HP.
DeleteYour dillusional on 4.0. Only team that could have given Wiley a challenge was Rockwall, but they spewed on themselves discounting Springpark. GH or CC will be luck to pull out a line.
ReplyDeleteClark should take 3.5, but you don't know anything about any of the teams yet call it 4-1 or 5-0. Lucky guess?
Any team with Kelly playing is already up a line.
I don't know anything about the 3.5s but would go with Clark's team too.
DeleteI think Wiley wins this weekend but sure would be the hardest to pick.
I am not sure about the 4.5s playing in Ft Worth. Can they play in the Dallas Championship and still represent Ft Worth?
This is the first year that Tri-level will be awarding a gold ball to the winner. It will be interesting to see how Picketts team fairs. My understanding after reading the USTA site that any winner of a gold ball can officially enter a 1 tier satellite tournament the next calendar year as a wildcard. I can't wait to see such unnamed player get his behind handed to him on a silver platter. Although he has been on best behavior, let's see the fireworks when he gets beat 6-0,6-0 by a satellite collegiate trying to make it on tour....LOL
ReplyDeletewhat the f???
ReplyDeleteOnly ball I am aware of is my blue ball in your mouth.
the guys from San Antonio that lost to Hia and Kelly did not play well so let's stop heaping praise on him so much. The FT Worth team that lost in finals to him would beat him next time they play bec they will know how to play him, simply draw him into net and make him volley. He becomes very avg and very beatable at that point.
ReplyDeleteReally???.... You have that all figured out?... So do a lot of people then when they get beat they claim they played bad. Not a Kelly fan but the guy is sick when he needs a win.
DeleteMike Kelly is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.
DeleteHow can anyone have an issue with a standup competitor like him?
Can you Asians speak in complete sentences? Your broken English gives you away.
ReplyDeleteWe not have time to work on our English cuz we are to busy dominating tennis in the metroplex
DeleteI hear Pickett's next operation is to get his eyes slanted, thinks that will get him playing tennis again.
ReplyDeleteHow about a new thread for this weekend?
ReplyDeleteKlamecki,
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that picture of John Sisk and Larry Reitzer wrestling?
So let me get this straight Dallas wins the whole tri level deal and their 4.5 guys win every time except against crappy Southeast? Call me cynical, but Pickett must have had his guys tank that one.
