Tri-Level Recap... Sisk Rolls

Tri-Level was this weekend and in a not very big surprise, Sisk and Voldemort won again.  Vnce Kingsley took second with his only loss to Sisk's juggernaut.  The most impressive part is Sisk won the vent without dropping a line.  Actually, they did not drop a single set and only 51 games.  In 15 total possible lines, that is an impressive average of better than 6-2, 6-2.   One loss runner-up Kingsley dropped 134 games.

I have to think this is the best team in Texas and expect to see them do well at sectionals.

  1. Don't forget Raja dominated Fort Worth too.

    1. Yes and Raja won the deciding match against Arcaria. Not only can he captain but he can bring the goods as well.

    2. Raj, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.

    3. I am actually on an opposing team that he beat over the weekend. He put together a good team and won his match over Teterud and Fenter when needed. End of story.

    4. Raja still at 4.0? He's been stuck there for years while dozens pass him. Doubt he's that impressed with a 4.0 win at this point.

    5. Who cares what happens in FW?

    6. You would care if you won but Dallas Raja dominated.

    7. Raja already said he only cares about his Houston team. He is only doing this to show he can dominate wherever he goes.

    8. And that’s his prerogative. The FW team was just built for fun and some recreational tennis. Those players already had Hotel reservations for Austin sectionals before the weekend started.

    9. Shame on the usta for continuing to allow players to play on multiple tri-level teams from different sections at the same level. Sets it up once again to have conflicts of interest, thrown matches and, in the extreme, outright lying about the results of already completed matches.

    10. When has anyone ever lied about trilevel results?

  2. I think Houston will have something to say about who is best but have to admit Sisk and co solid at all lines. Voldemort won the first 24 games he played and dispatched a damn good team of Kirsch and Mabe fairly easily. It is amazing how Kelly can make these guys look so average and continue to play well at 52. Clint Money Cash solid as well along w Nguyen and Yeh. 3.5’s pretty stout as well. This is a good team. Raja and company delivers a knockout blow in FW. ALzero fails in both upper and lower Tri but guarantees a win next year. Poor Kingsley had a good roster but just not enough. Look for a wildcard for Dallas or FW.

    1. and yet Kelly has trouble beating low level 4.0 during league season

    2. Kelly can only beat 4.5/5.0’s in the winter. He cannot play in spring or fall. Something about the stars aligning.

    3. It’s too hot. Kelley is over weight and out of shape.

  3. Look why even open up the blog giving any mention to Kelly and quit calling him Voldemort!! I was at that match against Kingsley team yesterday and had that match of been played outside kirsch and mabe win that easily. Kelly is the luckiest human on the planet to draw a slow court where he can run everything down. Outside the pace would have swallowed him up. For the life of me why keep trying to crowd the net when the lob is coming every time???? I want to sign up next year just to shut him up! Stand at the Service line to prevent chip lobs and he is absolutely helpless! Frustrating to watch the better team lose!

  4. FW is the new city to advance in. The FWTA has to be loving the revenue stream that used to come from Dallas players.

  5. Yes, FOUR of the 6 FW tri teams were Dallas teams

  6. Im beginning to find Raja talk more annoying than Kelley talk.

  7. It's probably what killed this blog. A few people using the message board to hype themselves relentlessly with these anon "posts" in the 3rd person

    1. Nope, it’s actually kept it alive.

    2. Is that a vote in favor of the endless self-promoting anonymous posts? It's no secret that this blog used to have a lot more previews, recaps, and legit conversation about Dallas tennis. Then all the mindless drivel took over the message boards. Now the authors barely post new write-ups. Just compare to past years. I.e. the blog is dying.

    3. Well do you want to talk about the endless failure of certain 4.5 and over 40 men’s teams that can’t make it out of Texas yet have rosters of 30-40 plus? That doesn’t sound fun.

    4. Previewing league playoffs, scouting the matchups, predicting the winners, and recapping the results. That would probably interest more of the blog audience because (big surprise) it would be inclusive of more players. Instead of just recycling the same three or four names in the comments, which (big surprise) gets pretty boring for the rest of Dallas.

    5. True and good point. Problem is those 3 or 4 are the only ones winning.

      Delete
    6. Not sure if that's true. Not to take away from those usual suspects, because they do win. But they also lose. Plenty of captains and players winning titles in Dallas, but only the same few characters show up in the comments. E.g. who took Dallas 4.5 this fall? This spring? Same question for 5.0. Probably some pretty good tennis going on there.

  8. Why would anyone have a problem w a Dallas team winning FW?

  9. Kelly was asked about his teams success under Sisk as he exited the Brookhaven pro shop and shortly after hoisting the Trilevel trophy and responded:
"It's good to be in big games. It's better to be in big games than ones nobody's watching," he said. "We better be appreciative of this spot and not resistant in any way, but embrace it. This is what we've been fighting for since Last time we won two national titles, to be in these types of games against these types of people. Why would you fight that? It's an awesome thing." Remains to be seen if Sisk and company get their third title.

    1. If Sisk team does get swept they will drive home and polish their two tri nats trophies and suit up again and try next year. No harm, no foul. I am pretty sure they are happy with more trilevel titles than all the Houston players combined.

  16. Who wins cotton bowl open division? 4.5? 4.0?

  17. Not sure about open but the high quality 4.5’a and 4.0’s aren’t playing. The top guys stay out of tourneys. For instance Teterude not wasting his time w such nonsense. I would like to see a tourney w the best 4,0’s seeded like this :
    1. Raja
    2. David Yay
    3. Hi When
    4. Anthony Lee
    5. Daniel Michael
    6. Pat Tetterude
    7. Oseal Salinus
    8. Michael Lorrence
If those guys played it would be a good tourney

  18. The kid that plays for Notre Dame probably defends his title

  19. Dallas needs two leagues. A fun league for the perennial losers w big rosters of 25 plus that play out of Dallas and FW IN 18’s and 40’s and can’t get out of Texas and then a league for teams that advance most every year w reasonable sized rosters and great captaining skills. That way there is no bitching and complaining I wonder why no city has gone to a dual league.
