5.0 playoffs
will be the second place and third place teams from flight play meeting each
other for the right to play the flight winner.
At this point, both T Bar/Bartzen and Prestonwood/Perkison remain
undefeated. Greenhill/Vahdat is at 5-1
and Lakes/Jannasch is at 4-2. T Bar
still has to play Prestonwood but their other two matches are bottom feeders. Prestonwood has the T Bar tilt but they also
still have to play SpringPark and Lakes so they need to stay sharp or they
could go from undefeated to completely missing the playoffs. SpringPark
has the Prestonwood match and two lower end teams remaining, while Lakes still has
to play Prestonwood and one more loss could leave them on the outside looking
in. Interestingly, the Royal Oaks/Stitt
team started the season with five straight defaulted matches then they actually
played Greenhill and lost 0-3. How they
were allowed to keep playing after five defaulted matches I do not know.
4.0 playoffs
have the four flight winners headed straight to city playoffs. QT will be comprised of four second place
finishers and the two best third place finishers unless the fall wild card is
used. With McKinney/Kanchi holding the wild
card, it is unlikely it will be needed. The
six QT contenders will be split into two flights of round robin and both flight
winners will advance to cities.
Flight A – always the cream of the crop, an unexpected loss
by High Point/Somabut has left them in a virtual dead heat with McKinney/Kanhci
and High Point holding only a one line lead at this point. Both teams could likely sweep the rest of the
season if they really wanted to and HP has the head to head tie breaker. Third place has Royal Oaks/Templeton and Eldorado/Browning
tied at 4-2. Eldorado has the far easier
finish but they do still play each other so either could make it.
Flight B – Huffines/Ratcliffe has remained undefeated thus
far, being chased by two 5-1 teams in Brookhaven/Bartlett and Lakes/Reifsnyder. Huffines has already beaten them both so they
should close out the flight. Brookhaven
and Lakes finish the season playing each other so their fate is in their own
hands. As importantly, with only one
loss apiece so far, both have a shot at the third place advancement slot.
Flight C – Huffines has another undefeated flight leader in
the Jayaram team. These guys have been
close a number of years and never closed the deal so maybe this is their year
to advance. They have two tough matches
left versus Hackberry/Myers and Canyon Creek/Patterson. Two 5-1 teams vie for the playoffs as well in
Greenhill/Ohl and Hackberry/Myers. Greenhill
currently leads in the tie breakers and has a little easier finishing schedule.
Flight D – by far the tightest flight at this point, we have
four teams sitting with one loss; McKinney/Bazan, Garland/Sisk, JCC/Schachter
and Oak Creek/Iyer. Garland/Sisk still
has a slight mathematical lead but there are some big matches left for
everyone. Garland still has to play JCC
and 3-3 Gleneagles; McKinney still has JCC and Gleneagles; JCC has the toughest
finish with Garland and McKinney both yet to play; and Oak Creek finishes with
the three last place teams in the flight, all with only one win a piece. That leaves Oak Creek with the best possible shot
at taking the third place QT spot because they could finish as the only one loss
third place team.
Royal Oaks/Stitt actually played some of their earlier matches then started defaulting all lines. I believe league admin went back and changed all of their results to defaults so that it impacts all teams the same, just hasn't done that with the most recent match. Who knows how that impacts NTRP ratings for matches that were completed but now possibly erased from the system.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of erasing 5.0's from the system it is awesome that Kelley can't play DTA tennis until 2017!!!! Way to go DTA!
ReplyDeletelooks like Kelly might not be playing mixed sectionals this weekend either
ReplyDeleteHe might but he will be limited. 50 percent Kelley prob enough to win but we will see
DeleteHave you seen Kelley's mixed 8.0 team...I don't think they really need him much.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure they need him. The 4.5 men are hacks, especially Sam Huynh.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...have you played any of them and what is your record against them?
DeleteI'm sure you are on a great team.....one that won't be going to nationals!
I don't care my record against Kelly but at least I Play my level and play fair!
DeleteThey need him. Hyunh solid but he ain't kelley and safe to say Kelley been to more nationals than the roster total COMBINED. That's insane
DeleteI've beaten Kelly every fall for years.
Delete@ 9:17 AM, i'm on a great team, going to win it all this year...and for Sam, he is easy to beat off
DeleteKelley won't be playing but to say they don't need him is ignorant. Easily the best mixed player around. Unfortunately another operation so out awhile
ReplyDeleteKelly getting a vagina so he can play as a 3.5 girl next season?
DeleteMurray,
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that in 4.0 the top two teams from the QT advance to City? I think the captains were told that only one advances and that City would be a one flight round robin of 5 teams.
I believe it depends on where the QT team ends up. If they are in QT then it two teams go.
ReplyDeletesomebody was 2-0 today at SA. guess he played after all.
ReplyDeleteThat somebody is now 4-0 and lost12 games total. Kelly beat a damn good Houston player and FW now in finals but will lose to north housyon
ReplyDeleteCan anyone explain the tiebreaker system? I.e. when it's between two teams does head to head matter, or is individual matches won the first tiebreaker?
ReplyDeleteKelley wins. Team loses 2-1
ReplyDeleteNationals again. Won the final 3-0.
ReplyDeleteHow in the hell does Kelley keep taking different teams and different cities and going to nationals every time you turn around?? It is now getting ridiculous how he continues to make it look easy going 5 and 0. He should be ashamed!
ReplyDeleteYou now have to start talking about him as one of the best as far as dominant players. Simply amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike
DeleteCongrats on dominating 8.0 mixed double. Maybe you can find a way to sign up for girls 12s and dominate another division
He did and dominated that too
DeleteBullshit! Put an asterisk beside EVERY WIN and I could do the same if I played a level or two down! I prefer to play FAIR!!!!!
ReplyDeletePeople you are being DUPED as usual. Just looked and Dallas didn't even win flight. Get off this blog w your crap dude
ReplyDeleteKelly played and won with Ft Worth. Genius>>>
ReplyDeleteStart puking 5:47
ReplyDeleteZakry best captan of the year!
ReplyDeleteHow is zacry best captain? only reason. FW won is boneheaded move by Houston. They have an Asian team who hasn't lost a set in TWO years and they decide to avoid Kelley at one and somehow zacry GUESSED right and put Kelley at two as well and Kelley wins. So damn lucky. Why Houston didn't put their dominant team at one is STUPID!!! Houston lost on one idiot move that was ridiculous. They blew it! FW not win it they lucky as hell
DeleteI heard that Alzuro is headed back to nationals!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes we are baby!!! 6.0. We only had to win one match at sectionals and we did!!!! Whose your daddy now???
Delete6:36.
ReplyDeleteSo it's easy huh? Ask Keith Clark how easy it is. Everybody moaned and whined he was tanking to 3.5 yet he got beat in finals. Ask both ft worth and Dallas 9.0 how easy it is. They both lost in their flight. Try it sometime and let me know how you do
I think he should keep posting. At least it's better than talking about how tiebreakers are counted. Besides, the posts are more interesting. And btw, he is a pretty good idiot.
ReplyDeleteAlzero
I am from Houston and I want to say Zacree pulled off biggest upset of the decade winning sextionals. Hats off.
