So there was a bye this weekend but some make up matches did get played and one very big upset as TBar M took out HP/Somabut and started to dash the hopes of a DCC round robin in July. This match was supposed to take place in June but was played in advance (mixed sectionals possibly, who knows?). Bottom line is TBar M came up big and won 3-2 led by Shannon Grant and Sam Stollenwerck, does this team need to be included among the favorites for this Spring, looks like it.
Flight A
So TBar M now sits alone at the top with only Brookhaven/Helterbrann in their final match as a team that could knock them from the ranks of the unbeaten. Although this week they do play a solid Hackberry team and I wonder if Russow is freaking out since he thought Bob's team was the second coming. Here comes TBar...
Flight B
Garland sits at the top with 5 teams at 2-1 right behind. The SWAT team snuck by the Lakes this Thursday night by a very close margin. The Lakes is a solid team and will be a factor the rest of the way and we were unbelievably fortunate to win that match. This week we don't get a break as we play Brookhaven/Bartlett. Garland takes on Village (2-1) which could be interesting depending on the lineups but I don 't think John will take them lightly.
Flight C
Confused would be mild word for what I thnk when I look at this flight. I am now feeling good about HP hanging in there when I look at the other teams. Greenhill seems to have taken a step back unless something changes soon. BH/Pearlman will climb back to the top but with the one loss already they must be perfect if they want to vault to the top spot. LBH and Garland are undefeated but I don't see that lasting long. In fact they both might lose this week. The match of the week in this flight is HP/Harrigan v. Greenhill. I like HP to take this one and solidify their top spot. LBH will have a tough test against JCC who knocked off GH last week, I am not so sure JCC lead by Elovitz and Lieberman cannot win that match and shove Greenhill towards the bottom of the flight.
Flight D
Two good matches here as things might shake out a little more after this weekend. LTF takes on a solid Garland team but they should pull thru OK but it will be a test for them. The MOW is Springpark v. OC. Oak Creek had a great fall playoff and Springpark was a sectional finalist not much longer than one year ago and this roster is not that different, OK no Gene Davis but their doubles teams are mostly intact. I don't know who to take in this one but I have to go with OC in a tight one.
Good luck fellow 4.0 players this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHey PANTHER. Eddie lost 7-6 7-6 in the Final on Sunday at North Richland Hills to a good player.
ReplyDeleteI think he's ready for that bagel you are looking to dish out.
Oh yeah. Team Talk. If Lifetime losses a more than one set, I will be in shock.
(.Y.) is still better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eddie but you do not have to tell everyone that I am better than you.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Eddie keep referring to himself in third person?
ReplyDelete1st person 2nd person 3rd person??? Maybe Eddie thinks he is as good as 3 players???
ReplyDeleteI'm man enough to admit it. I messed up that prediction. I guess Mrs. Hill is going to have to wait until next year to have her day all for herself. For a first tournament back, congrats Eddie.
ReplyDeleteAntonio is pretty good, but not necessarily a "good" player, I know a couple of players who have played him and took him out pretty easily.
Team Talk, get through Garland and then let's see.
I'm BP and I'm out!
SWAT did squeek by no thanks to Bazan and Demetsenaere! How in the hell is Demetsenaere playing 4.0? He cannot even win at 3.5!! Then again with scores like 0 and 2 on line #3 he shouldn't be playing 4.0. So much for that early talk that he was a ringer for LTF 3.5, haha!
ReplyDeletePanther. I am sure Eddie appreciates the congrats. I think 4 matches in 40hrs was bit much for him. Maybe he'll head down to WACO for the MZ at the end of the month. How about you???
ReplyDeleteWhat team do you play on Panther??? Do Panthers like to SWAT flies??? Just wondering...
Wow!!! I just read Cary's entry from the top. HP lost. Where are all those trash talkers with the "everyone is playing for second" at? HP is now playing for second...in their flight that is. they have a good team. we have a good team. there are about 4 more good teams. I am glad we can stop saying how unbeatable HP is now. Let's just get to the DCC and see who's best.
ReplyDeleteYour probably playing for fourth or fifth Eddie. Don't be fooled by the T Bar loss. HP won't use their top line up until the playoffs. They don't need to win during the season.
ReplyDeleteLikely excuse. Just like they wouldn't use their top line-up until Nationals last year. How did that go for them at sectionals???? 4th or 5th for Lifetime?? Are you NUTS? I can promise all of you this. We will be playing in the DCC Final on July 19th on our way to sectionals. Anyone want to bet me on that????? This Lifetime team is the most talented and deepest team we have ever had. Not even close. And we will be better in July than we are now. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that bet. No way Lifetime makes it to sectionals. It will be just like last year. You play in an easy division so you think your team is good, and then you lose in the playoffs when you play the better teams.
ReplyDeleteDeepest?? Eddie, do yourself a financial favor and find a way to take that bet back.
ReplyDeleteIf your team is so deep, let's see you not put Eddie Hill in the Lineup this weekend.
Why not try putting mister -y- in your "reserved" singles spot.
In reference to Waco, I'll be there. Playing and "watching".
By the way. My name is Lifetimer. As for Eddie maybe we can keep him out of the line-up this weekend??? You have to wait and see.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can connect in WACO. This time let's both stay out of the consolation bracket.
As for (.Y.).. He is definately single and a player. Just not a singles player. Let's see if I can't convince Eddie to put him in the line-up somewhere.
Oh yeah. Keith... I know my team is good, because I can evaluate talent. Has nothing to do with our Flight. This is Lifetime's best 4.0 team by far. We were 1 line away from Sectionals last spring with Eddie injured. We'll see at the DCC in July.
ReplyDeleteWeak division last year huh Keith. Then why did 3 of the 6 teams at DCC come out of our division. TBAR, HP/Somabut, Lifetime. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how good your team is. I'm sure we will see you in the playoffs. I just wanted you to start ranting about the greatness of Lifetime. I think its funny.
ReplyDeleteOne line away? OK, I'll bite. Eddie lost to Gene Davis, who's a borderline 5.0 player.
ReplyDeleteWho on that Lifetime team could have beaten Gene and helped Lifetime advance to the Sectionals??? When you get a chance, ask Eddie, everybody begged him not to play and sit it out, but he wouldn't listen.
Most captains leave injured players out of the lineup. Ask Boston about Kevin Garnett, Ask Houston about Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady.
I'll see you at Waco, try to make it to the 3rd Round this time.
Funny. I was at all those team meetings and don't remeber anyone asking Eddie to sit out. Seeing that he went 2-0 at QT the week before.
ReplyDeletePanther. You are right. Eddie was not going to beat Gene, but line 3 doubles was close and a healthy Eddie would have played line 2 and seen if Forrest could be Gene. Would have been a close match. I don't think Eddie was 100% sure he was healthy enough to beat Walters at line 2 so he put Forrest there to make sure they split singles. Needed 2 out of 3 doubles and we feel short.
Hey Eddie, unrelated question: How long from your shoulder surgery to your first competitive match? What did you have done? Rotator cuff? Let me know, I'm tired of riding the pine but don't want to re-injure....
ReplyDeleteTorn labrum and Torn Rotator Cuff. Had surgery on both. 2 anchors in Front Bicep tendon. 3 anchors attached to tendons around Rotator Cuff. Also had my accromium shaved down to create more space for tendons to move freely. Had Surgery July 31st. Hit groundstrokes 18 weeks out. Hit soft serves 7 months out. Played first competitive match 8 months out. Hope that helps. Doc said it would be faster for someone that only had one of those 3 procedures.
ReplyDeleteAt least that's what I remember aobut what Eddie told me about his shoulder????
ReplyDeleteDid Eddie say he had a shaved scrotum?
ReplyDeleteI guess that explains why Eddie doesn't have the Balls anymore to take himself out of the lineup.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take much balls to take Eddie out of our line-up. He may be our 4th best singles player at the moment. That could change by July if he gets better...FYI.
ReplyDeleteBTW/ FM BL. You will always be OC BL to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks. That's alot of work done and more invasive than mine. I just had 1 anchor for the rotator cuff but they also shaved down bone spurs and loosened the ligament to prevent the tendons from rubbing the bone and getting inflamed. Surgery was 2/26; I've been hitting for about 3 weeks now and light serving for a week. I'm hoping to be in the lineup in June sometime....
ReplyDeleteYeah, Probably late June to be safe. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK ROUSSOW!!! I have definitely come to the conclusion that getting old sucks but it definitely beats the alternative. Just wish that I could still do the things that I used to be able to do. (Like hit balls into the net harder, Hit harder double faults. Things like that). Just like the good ole' days.
ReplyDeleteLifetimer, why don't you "steroid (aka super) teams" schedule a practice match with one another. Its not like one is going to get a bigger advantage over another. You both learn the same things.
Thanks black for suggesting I play singles but I like playing doubles:)
ReplyDeleteNo thanks Ted. We would beat HP and they would claim that it wasn't there best line-up. We will just wait til DCC. We have 2 tough matches coming up with Springpark and OC in next month or so.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Bob's lineup that well, but I can guarantee that you will not see Steven at line 1 singles in a playoff match. The worst thing that happened for the league is that Bob's team won the fall, now the league will have no idea how good his team is until the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI would keep an eye on the players that only play twice during the regular season, those are probably the ringers.
I would agree if you are already in why play your A team during the regular season.
ReplyDeleteYep, HP played their B team and lost with it. I don't think that was a surprise loss for Bob.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHere we go again with this crap. A team...B team. Is BA Baracus on the A Team at line 2 singles??? Anyway they lost. Let's see what they got in the playoffs. Can't wait to play them. All I know is Top 5 teams look like this.
ReplyDelete1. Lifetime
2. Oak Creek
3. Springpark
4. TBAr
5. HP/Somabut
Everyone else is playing for 6th???
But not in that order.... HP/ Bob is still the clear favorite. I looked at their lineup vs TBar and there wasn't a single line that would be in their 1st choice lineup. This may even have been their c or d lineup. I assure you that if Featherstone plays singles, Weymer plays dubs (with anyone let's say Newman) and Brouer and Robinson play together with Bin & Carlquist on the 3rd line, HP win handily over any of the other teams that you listed.....
ReplyDeleteYou guys kill me with "Win Handily" comments. Excuses are like a-holes..Everyone has one, and they all Stink! they lost. I have seen all those players you spoke of and none of them scare me. Gene Davis, now he was scary. None of those guys are. Good players, but not out of level. Our best line-up beats there best line-up 3-2 in a close match. Sorry, just is what it is.
ReplyDeleteAlright Eddie, lay out the best lineup vs best lineup and tell us which 3 lines you win. I'm sure one of the lines you assume your winning is vs Brouer and Robinson since they suck but what about the other two?
ReplyDeleteI would give you that info, but then I would have to kill you. Eddie would be upset with me, if I shared that with you. Man, that was confusing. Anyway. We'll have to wait for DCC to see.
ReplyDeleteok, I have acted as if Bob now let me step in as Eddie. Obviously I don't know his players as well as he does but we have played Lifetime in the fall so I am familiar with at least 6 of his players and the usta results helps for the other..... Eddie and Vahdat on singles seems to be pretty solid.
ReplyDeleteI'd say 50/50 vs HP/Bob
Morrison & Kennedy are good but get beaten by any of the 3 HP lines I listed.... Myers and either Brinkman or Mudsam is also pretty solid but again my money is on any of the HP lines listed over them. Line 3 is probably Wines & Asako who are clearly line 3. Bennet, Shahab and Ho don't make the play-off lineup for Lifetime.
So unless McAfee & Gonzalez are absolute ringers lifetime is in trouble. We'll have to see them at least twice each before the season is out so maybe Eddie will tip his hand against OC & SP?
So my prediction is 4:1 to HP with Eddie getting the only win. It is great though to hear a captain be so positive about his team.
I'm officially rooting for Lifetime from afar. Eddie has fans across the state. He definitely is not lacking in personality and I love his confidence in his team.
ReplyDeleteMyers and his partner would win their line! If I had to guess I would say 3-2 HP, but LTF could definitely beat them depending on matchups.
ReplyDeleteI don't get to play in the playoffs:(:(:(
ReplyDeleteHtown, please don't feed the Eddie. His ego will soon equal that of LOTS (aka Reader).
ReplyDeleteFor those of us who think Eddie is out of his mind. The overall majority appreciate his enthusiasm and belief in his team.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the other captains have as much belief on their team? The rest of them are just low key. But when you are playing your matches you could care less what is said on this blog.
Eddie keep going, without your "input" this 4.0 blog would be dead. Probably like the 4.5 blog, which as of 3 this afternoon still has "0" responses.
On to more important matters, Eddie what does Wines have to do to get out of your doghouse and play #2 Singles again?
Thanks for your thoughts BP you have made me feel good about coming out and saying WTF, how does the SWAT team not land on this list or Garland, Flight B needs some love. We can take any of you all in your weak flights!
ReplyDeleteI forget who said that was HP's B lineup, but I guarantee Dencil, Keith, Jarad, Tim and Steven will be in when it counts so I doubt that was their B lineup, maybe A- but you have to win with what you have. I think that is the tough thing about the auto bid though, it is like playing poker with pretzels, you really want to win but you know you haven't lost all that much in the end if you happen to lose.
I am sure Bob would prefer the RR format but if it comes at the lost of not improving he would take this loss with no problem.
We brought some good players to Tbar. The line up might look a little different in the playoffs, but most of the same players will be there. The match ups fell into place for TBar, and they won. They played well, and deserved it. I look forward to playing them again in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteEddie doesn't have a doghouse. Everyone will get there looks so long as the team keeps rolling. Glad to hear Houston appreciates the LTF. Dallas needs to step up the quality of our league play so we can beat Houston this year. They have a couple of really good teams down there.
ReplyDeleteCary your team is struggling right now and will be lucky to make the QT. Can't be in top 5. Garland/Sisk is close, but the I'm not sure what to make of that Flight yet.
Oh yeah. BP. I finally figured out who you are. You know you don't want to see me on the other side of the net at line 2 singles in 3 weeks. Just from the mental side of it I am up 3-0 to start each set.
Cary,
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to understand Eddie's logic. By listing the three undefeated teams in his flight, he is creating the opinion of "Woe Is Lifetime". "We" have to battle against two legitimate playoffs teams just to me the City Playoffs or Qualifying Tournament.
Then after listing those three there are only two spots lefts. Somabut's team and either T-Bar or your team. He went with T-Bar since they just beat Somabut.
Not defending, just defining the Logic of Eddie.
So, let's keep massaging his ego and play along, we'll call this "The Courtship of Eddie's Ego"
Come on now Eddie doesn't have that big an ego???? That top 5 is legit. the loser of the SP v OC match this weekend get's moved out and Garland/sisk moves in if the can win convoncingly. this ranking stuff is just conversation
ReplyDeleteThe real top 2 will be determined at DCC. Cary we will even let you decide who's best as you sit outside the fences watching the top teams play.
I will say as an outsider that I think the 4.0 will be much more competitive this spring than last spring. Last spring, it was obvious who the top 2 teams were all season long and they proved it at the DCC. This season, I still believe Somabut's team is a lock based on all the playoff experience but the other spot could be filled by any number of teams.
ReplyDeleteTBAR played well and deserved the win.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lifetime, they should first worry about avenging their loss to Team SWAT in the fall playoffs last year before putting themselves in the TOP 5 before Cary's team.
Just being factual and keepin it real.
Eddie,
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you didn't know who BP was, I knew upon his first post. BTW you definitely need to get you out of the lineup and get -Y- in there, he is awesome.
Thanks Bin for reminding Eddie of his destruction at the hand of team SWAT. We beat them rather easily and were two TBs from a sweep. Our team is stronger and we lost NOBODY from that team but I do think a certain line 1 singles player is missing from the LTF Fall team.
But BP yes we must massage the Eddie EGO especially since he nearly dropped a set to Lucky Thunder again. Lucky Thunder hasn't taken a set off anyone on team SWAT at practice or Team Loyd for that matter, LTF might need some singles help and Eddie can watch from the sidelines with me. I need a scout for sectionals Eddie, I pay in premium beer if you are interested, Heinken, right?
Thanks Cary but I only play doubles:)
ReplyDeleteLast time I checked. Eddie did not play in the Fall. we also added 6 players and kept the strong core of team. this is a very different team than we had in Fall. Let' look at numbers honestly. We lost 4 matches total in spring and fall including playoffs in both seasons. Lost 3-2 to HP/Soma to start spring season. Lost 3-2 to Springpark at DCC. OK. In fall we lost 3-2 to HP/ Bazaan (Eddie Out) and lost 3-2 to OC/Smith (Eddie Out). I have a hard understanding this talk about us getting beat down. we added 4 players that are in our top 9. This is by far the best team we have ever had. I am confident that will mean winning 1 more line to the matches lost above. Do the math. That means we go undefeated and head to sectionals. Bring you camera Cary so you can take a picture of us.
ReplyDeleteFrom One Eddie to another. I don't think there is anybody else out there who wants to win more than he does.
ReplyDeleteHey, Cary! Who would win between your SWAT Team and Lifetime??
Cary. In response to your "Eddie almost lost a set to you? Are you kidding??? I believe he won the first set 6-1 without breaking a sweat. Seemed like he got bored in the second and wanted to challenge himself by getting down in each game so he had to work hard to win the games in that set. Ask anyone who has played you and they will surely say the same thing. No challenge from you so he had to challenge himself by dropping points. I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that you can't get more than 2 games in any set off Eddie if he wants to embarrass you. BTW..I was on your challenge blog the other day as well and looks like Eddie challenged one of your top singles guys a week ago and he has yet to respond????
ReplyDeleteCARY. When and where is that MOW Oak Creek vs Springpark match??
ReplyDelete1:00PM @ Springpark :)
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteYour logic about being able to win one more line in each of those matches sounds good, except that is assuming that none of those teams you lost to got better either. I'm sure Bob has added many players to his roster also. All of the teams are much stronger in the spring compared to fall. I don't know enough about the players involved to know where you guys stack up but I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that you guys make it.
I think we can win the D section, but after that I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteRoussow,
ReplyDeleteHow did you lose to HP 5-0?? Seriously? They are a great team, but to not win a line? You even had AJ beat Bouer/Robinson earlier in the year in tri-level!
Where was Storey? Also, do you not consider yourself top 8? That was a pretty important match.
Since you decided to get WIPED by HP, You are playing for your season tomorrow.
You win, your in the hunt.
You need help with your top 8?
AJ
Roussow
Ellis
Storey
Delgado
Nevermind. I can't believe I can't find a top 8 out of your roster with 18 people on it!
You still have one more day to recruit.
Bitch,
ReplyDeleteAs you may have read above, I had shoulder surgery in Feb.
Yes that was a very difficult day for us. Bob was kind enough to agree to split the matches between the afternoon and the morning so that we could avoid defaulting a line and actually have 8 guys available. Then we didn't get any favorable matchups and, as I mentioned in an earlier thread, Weymer and Featherstone are very strong players who handled our best players.
Unfortuantely between injuries, travel, family commitments and a death in a family we weren't able to field our best team. These things happen. We have some guys out of town again this week so hopefully we get the right match-ups.
Hopefully we can pull out an upset tomorrow and make the division interesting......

ReplyDeleteOh Snap! - Very funny on the salutation. That was a good one.
ReplyDeleteNo, I go in spurts reading this, so I must admit I did miss that one about your shoulder. I am not going to read EVERY SINGLE POST since the last time I read the blog. That explains you being MIA then.
Good luck. I remember you had a good team in the not so distant past, so it would be unfortunate that you finish in the middle of the pack this year.
TEAM SWAT taks another L. Cary. I will get you a Lifetime Fitness shirt so you can root for us in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteRain does suck and so does losing tiebreaks. I am a "M" and maybe by the summer a small if I can lose 7 more lbs.
ReplyDeleteI am not giving up hope but this flight is very tough. BH played very well and never gave up.
Man, a lot about Team Eddie on the blog this week so it's easy to see why LTF is so hated. I know the team well and believe Eddie does have his best team. His singles players can easily win both each week including against the top teams. However, doubles is still a problem. Kennedy/Morrison need to improve to win at line 3 and Mudsam and Myers are playing great. They need others. -Y- is solid but Wines has lost his game trying to improve his backhand and Brinkman and the rest aren't good enough to win against the elite. They will be much more dangerous than ever before and I believe would beat SWAT this year but not Somabut. Keep in mind Wines lost a lot of the matches Eddie listed earlier and I heard Eddie has said he'll never use him again in the playoffs. So, to BP's point, he's definitely in Eddie's doghouse. I heard he's playing better but the fallout with Eddie has already occurred. I just don't see who steps up to help their 4 best players. That's not deep Eddie. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteLakes Man. Seems to have some info and knowledge of our team. Nice. Problem is that You are missing a couple of key players in that mix and you are far off on Wines or any member of Lifetime being in Eddie's doghouse. He doesn't have one. As I have stated before, this is our best and deepest team. TEAM!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW.. Lifetime is up 3-1 on Garland with line 2 being played on Tuesday. First line lost for LTF this year.
Deepest? Just remember you beat the same Garland team last season 5-0, "with a team not as deep".
ReplyDeletePanther... you just need to be worried about taking care of and holding on to that line 2 you've had. Pray you don't see me there in a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteLifetime will be undefeated and the #1 seed at DCC when it is all said and done. Weather we beat Garland 4-1 this year or 5-0 last year won't matter.
Hope and Pray you dont' see me!!!
Thanks lakes man for the kind words.
ReplyDeleteMember of Lifetime Fitness Doghouse team:)
Keep in mind there are two different CoreDawgs now, but I don't think you are playing the Garland A team Eddie.
ReplyDeleteCary,
ReplyDeleteHope you didn't agree to play Brookhaven indoors. That is always to their advantage.
Eddie,
Depth is great but I'll take having 3 or 4 of the best players in the league like I had last year.
We did agree to play indoors, the thought of yet another rainout wasn't appealing. Looking back a delay would have been great and we would have gotten back 3-4 available players but yep maybe next time I decline the offer.
ReplyDeleteI have had that option given to me 5 different times from BH and my team is 1-4 in those matches and the one win was very close so I think you are onto something.
Understand we are playing Garland B team. Who we play at this point doesn't matter so much to me. We just need to keep playing high level tennis and improving as the season progresses.
ReplyDeleteJim... I agree with you on having 3 or 4 great players. I was talking with someone this weekend telling me how we need to have 5 great lines. I argued your point a bit. I like having better depth, but at the end of the day you only need to find a way to win 3 lines. 3 unreal lines can get you to sectionals. I think you need to have a little more depth to get to nationals, but what do I know I have never gotten past sectionals.
HEY PANTHER. Do you know when the Springpark v OC match is going to happen???
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLakes Man. YOu are wrong on several counts.
ReplyDelete1. I can name 14 guys that probably like the Lifetime team.
2. I have seen (-Y-) before. I would not call those things solid. His are definitely ugly jugglies.
3. How do you discount several guys that have won through last year playoffs, but now they can't carry a line? (Or they can Cary a line?)* Note: those mean the same thing Thunder.
Now, I do agree on why IS Lifetime talked about so much? I guess cause they are always trying to crawl themselves up to the top, but never quite there.
Sisk 1 has a chance to be there.
If I had to name the top 7 teams:
1 goes without saying
2 LTF
3. TBARm by default since HP let them win.
4 Bartlett
5 OC1
6 Sisk1
7 Pearlman gets an honorable mention based only upon previous history.
Sorry 11. Bazan, looks like your team gets to go to Disneyland during the playoffs. You go from Fall Finalist to City Chumps in one season.
Picking on the fat guy thanks Ted
ReplyDeleteI prefer the term "Heavyset"
ReplyDeleteLifetime beats Garland 4-1. Garland has a good team and are good guys.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know when Oak Creek and Springpark are going to play?
Making up the matches individually
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else going to try to play in the Plano Open? I want to play doubles, but have a league match that can not be rescheduled:(
ReplyDeletewhat weekend is that? I might be able to play with you big guy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cary but I already have a partner if I play I was just curious was any other teams having problems with there league matches during that week.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea that someone proposed of asking the tourney director to not have 4.0 matches Saturday from 1 - 5. Might be worth it, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteEddie's dying for an update. SP and OC are tied 2-2 with L1 dubs left
ReplyDeleteJim,
ReplyDeleteWhen and where is the last L1 dubs being played? that sounds like a good match to watch.
Trying to set it up for next Sunday at SP around noon. I will post when it is confirmed.
ReplyDeleteLifetimer,
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, the Waco draws are out. Next time you "see" Eddie let him know his first round opponent was my Waco first round opponent last year at Waco.
Also, we're in the same section of the draw for added incentive. :-)
Word is Eddie has his Pink Nadal outfit ready to go for the Waco tourny. When you see him wearing that can you please ask him to turn in his man card.
ReplyDeleteSERIOUSLY!!! I am NOT digging that new Nadal "wardrobe" that he wears on the circuit right now. WTF? In fact, i really can't see ANY player that could pull that ugly azz sh*t off.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Lifetimer needs to get his pic updated with the new Nadal look. "Viva La Geek and My Geeky outfit".
Actually... only a real MAN can pull off the tight pink shirt. I think a little too far out there though... even for Eddie.
ReplyDeletePanther. The guy you are playing in the first round this year is good. Young, tall, good, athlete. BIG SERVE. Keep it to his backhand, forehand has big topspin, but inconsistant at times.
I think Eddie may really pull out the Grey and Pink this weekend in Waco, just not as far out there as Nadal.
Here you all go. I know you couldn't wait to see it. Lifetimer and Nadal. Real Men.
ReplyDeleteThat Springpark v Oak Creek match looks to be as close as it gets. Can't wait to see final result.
ReplyDeleteWhen does the new thread get made for this weekend?
ReplyDeleteLifetimer,
ReplyDeleteGerald Lee is an older player, left hander, who likes to hit the left handed forehand, even more than I do. Two first serves, but it is just big and flat, much like yours but his is erratic. Stick to his backhand, he wears down. He was a worldbeater when he played me, but had nothing left in the tank for his second match.
Does not like to come to the net, just block back his serve and stick to his backhand and you should have little trouble.
