Understand, I'm not offended, but I thought the tennis community, as a whole, was open, encouraging and supportive of those wanting to participate in a great sport. It would seem as though that's not necessarily the case. I certainly hope the "annonymous" members of your tennis community are the exception and not the rule. As for the Special Olympics comment, just another example of ignorance. I would challenge you to find a wheelchair tennis participant and play...it will (hopefully) give you a different outlook. As for having your daughter sign up to play...great idea! Its the hardest major, gets the best players, yet the facilities are by far the crappiest for 4.5. 3.5 was bad too. Heavy leaning courts at Homer Ford with major cracks everywhere. What crap. I was bummed out about that. What did you guys think? I am thinking of skipping it going forward. Not worth it.
