This would make sure every player competing in the playoffs has an established track record and computer rating. I think if you look at all the dominant teams in recent memory, self-rated players have played an integral role in their success, at the expense of longstanding league players. This rule would stop that. <BR/><BR/>Would it fix everything? No, but I believe it could make a difference.<BR/><BR/>Or, even more extreme, do not allow any team with more than a certain number of self-rated players (2 would be good) to go to the postseason. That would take away the incentive for captains to recruit ringers, but would still allow for new league players to come in. They had a league record of 6-2 & had to beat Brookhaven in the final match of the season to win league. They went to sectionals and won first match, lost the next two, & won the next match "the don't" care match to have a 2-2 in sectionals. Think what you will, but Chuck's was no Davis Cup team.
