Tri-level Update - Fort Worth Style

Kelly looking pretty buff leading his 300 4.0s

Kelly and his band of 300 4.0s descended on Cowtown last weekend and snagged the FW tri-level invitation to sectionals.  No real surprise there.  After all there were only two teams in the whole event.  With this team fielding a horde of 4.0s and there only being two teams, it seemed like someone wouldn't get qualified.  Well, they went with an 8.5 line for Saturday's matches and that got five 4.0s in the qualified  column.  Luckily Miller was nice enough to play a third match even though they were down 2-0 so Rigney could get his participation medal on Sunday.  That also let Kelly and Pollard get one match in so it ended up being a big match.

While not exactly a good measurement of how this team might fair at sectionals, there were only two close matches.  One was at the 4.5 line and one was at the 4.0 line but both were teams that likely don't see the big matches come February.

This FW team is a lock to win all its 3.5 matches.  It's 4.0 and 4.5 lines are obviously good but there have also been teams at sectionals over the last few years that could have beaten what FW will bring on those two lines.  That should make it very interesting as we get closer.

And personally I'm always more interested when I've found a theme for an event.

  2. why do you give this guy any air time? who cares for kelley or trilevel!! rumor is kelly been hittin gym and could even give Joel thickett a run for his money adding muscle , guess that is what happens when you get kicked out of dallas tennis and nowhere to go but gym. Kelly probly cocky enough to think he is still good w the added muscle. I hope he gets his ass kicked in Tri. he will lose his speed and agility I hope! What i cant understand is why anyone would want this guy on their team giving half effort most of the time. FW should have defaulted last match just to keep him from qualifying. i would have but dont care about sissy trilevel to even play it!

    1. Asks why author gives Kelly and tri-level airtime, then writes a whole paragraph about him and tri-level.

  3. not sure Kelley gave half effort in his match, winning 6-1,6-0. I guess you could say he tanked 1 game.

    1. i dont see any scores entered but if kelley did win 0 and 1 then I would go straight to the league coordinator in FW Steve Miller and get kelly dq'd and rid this pest of ALL area tennis. PLEASE!

    2. You do realize the guy "muscles" beat WAS Steve Miller dont you? Dont think there is a need for sending in a letter as the league coordinator saw it first hand. Kelly is a jerk, running up the score on a 50 plus year old guy. What a douche

  4. Wow a Joel Pickett mention in the above post, he used to be one of the dominate topics on this blogs in years past. What ever happened to him does anyone know?

  7. Everyone should get suspended. That's the answer to everything. How about just playing your own tennis matchs and leave everyone else the hell alone. Again, the answer is sooooo simple for the dta, just count all matches the same and make fall not count. It's a simple solution.

  8. You must be a Kelley apologist! The DTA is not the problem, continuing to play the game and get away with it (at least he got suspended a year) is the problem. I hope he never advances past cities ever again. I am rooting for the day the DTA suspends this clown for good. If you believe the rumors they are trying to get a 5 year ban. That would be the happiest day of my life, well second happiest. Ridding him for a year was the happiest.

  9. 6 4.0's qualified, not 5. An entire team withdrew, check out the holding team

  12. Just glad to have him out of Dallas for awhile. DTA plan worked, SP lost and Greenhill went to sectionals as planned. Hope it works again. So sorry Kelly, no more nationals for you!

    1. And Greenhill got their asses kicked. Awesome. That must of felt really good. Get them suspended so you can go as the second best team (actually third best, Corey should have better them) and then get totally blown away. I beat that felt great.

    2. So it is admitted to be a DTA and Greenhill plan. Maybe someone needs to get Texas and the USTA involved. This should not ever happen. Why wasn't the drunk ass Greenhill captain suspended too? And I think Kelly will go to Nationals again, even as a FW player! Just so you know, not a SP player, just a third party observer who is thinking DTA is out of control and needs to be reigned in.

    3. on the contrary, DTA needs a bit more control and should not have had to fabricate a reason to suspend Kelly and Alan.
The tanking of Kelly, Alan, Tony Le, etc. is obvious and it should not require such lengths to suspend them.

It's a rec tennis league and no one has a right to play.

    4. Alan tanking. We went undefeated this year in men's 4.0 and didn't get bumped. How can you say he tanked.

      Delete
    5. Key part of that is "4.0".
Alan tanked his way down to 4.0, no different than Tiny.

    1. No shit, those cheating NOHO bastards may have outcheated Tiny and Jelly. How do you win Houston and then play out of NOHO without playing anyone?

    2. Stay tuned. I will have more on the NOHO question soon.
